A hidden gem in the heart of Liverpool city centre, especially good for followers of rugby league in the city as it’s one of the few places in Liverpool that will show live games, whether it be Super League or NRL, a good selection of beer as well (especially the German beers).

My twin brother and I were pub hopping around this part of the city when we decided to drop by The Denbigh Castle Pub, been here before on many occasions, always had a good time and so it proved on our latest visit. I love the look of this pub ,interior is superb, an eye catching serving bar dominates the main room, pubby decor and furnishings, big screens to enjoy the sport and plenty of seating options spread throughout this pub, there's also plenty of seating options spread throughout this pub and there's also a downstairs area of the pub which is also very cool, all in all its a great pub to unwind in. We were here on a Monday afternoon, pub was busy with a great atmosphere, we ordered a pale ale each, these were served in excellent condition, we chilled out and soaked up the great vibe in this busy and popular pub while we sipped our pale ale's. My pale ale was really good, a crisp, well balanced pale ale, hints of toffee, a delicious aroma and aftertaste with a smooth finish, a classic British pale ale served in a classic British pub, its hardly surprising that this pub is so popular with ale's served in this good a condition. We moved on after our pale ale's and as on every other visit to here we had a great time. The Denbigh Castle Pub is easy to locate along Hackins Hey. Opening hours are; Monday to Thursday, midday till 11pm. Friday & Saturday, Midday till midnight. Sunday, midday till 11pm. Well worth checking out if you're in the area.

It's well hidden in Hackins Hey just off Dale street. I've not been here for many years. I'd heard that it's been refurbished recently. The interior now looks completely different. The bar has a good range of beers and ales and a good selection of European beers. Vast improvement on the old pub.

The Denbigh is the best pub in the city, without a doubt. Brilliant atmosphere, the bartenders are sound, ample seating, and a tele everywhere you need it for the sports. This place is situated centrally in Liverpool, however it is up a back alley which I wouldn't recommend on principle, especially at night. The inside of the pub is clean, and roomy, however there did not seem to be many dtaff behind the bar, and despite the emptiness of the place, it took a significant amount of time for me to be served. I went for a quiz, and the quizmaster the pub hires is full of blokey humour and does not typically uphold the highest ethical standards of the city, so tread with caution. For a city pub, it's cheap enough, but parking isn't especially cheap or available either, you'll be walking a long way if you drive here.

Up,out and about on a beautiful January morning, my twin brother and I jumped the train down from Kirkby to Liverpool City Centre, one of the first pubs we visited was The Denbigh Castle Pub. A great looking pub,set over two floors, great looking serving bar, wonderful furnishings and decorated tastefully throughout, big screens to enjoy the sport and plenty of seating options spread throughout this pub, its just a really good pub to unwind in. We ordered a pale ale from Kirkstall Brewery, these were served in excellent condition, we just kicked back and soaked up the great vibe in this busy and popular pub. My pale ale was really good, well balanced, hoppy but not overhopped, a delicious aroma and aftertaste with a slight bitter finish to it we both enjoy, the classic British pale ale served in a classic British back street boozer, hardly surprising that this pub is so popular with real ales served in this good a condition. We really enjoyed our pale ale's in here before we moved on and although our visit was only fleeting as on every other visit to The Denbigh Castle Pub we had a great time.
