This place does not exist anymore!

We had to wait quite a while for our basic sandwich order. It seems that more priority was given to the takeaway side of the business. Sad, really.

The tastiest food..First time here ,I order some Nachos..they fulfill my expectations and much over,VERRY TASTY. ..Verry good executed espresso,..Love it . Recommend ❤️🍒

Arrived at 09:00 today. Left at 09:05. Not open despite listed hours

Throughly recommend the breakfast, very tasty, will return.

Popped in for a quick lunch. A fresh bottle of water was provided on the table as i sat down. I had a really tasty sandwich which came with salad. Lovely food, can highly recommend it.

I was taken here for an evening meal. The food and service were superb. I had stuffed butternut squash. Generous portions, beautifully cooked. Fabulous ambience, excellent coffee. I highly recommend and presume their breakfasts and lunches are equally good.

We booked for Sunday lunch but when we arrived we were informed that lunch was off as ovens were not working. We ordered from available menu choices, food was simple and portions were very small for prices charged.

Popped in for a late breakfast just before midday, Greeted by polite and attentive staff. We sat outside in the autumn sun on their lively raised patio are. A bowl of water was immediately provided for our dog Charlie. The coffee was good quality and presented well. Breakfast was served quickly, cooked perfectly and had everything you’d expect of a Full English. Very delicious. Another lovely touch was an additional sausage in a bowl for Charlie! It was a lovely relaxed and pleasant experience, one that will make us return. Recommended for dog lovers 👍

I dropped in because I saw a review that started with the comment "best breakfast I ever had". In all honesty, I can't fault that review. If it wasn't the best breakfast I've had, it's in the top few. Great service coupled with great food

Wonderful lunch there yesterday served by Sharon who came across very attentive and personable. We had the steak and blue cheese on sour dough which was absolutely delicious, thoroughly recommend!

We went there for breakfast this morning. It was fantastic. The food was great and our server Shannon did an excellent job. The restaurant is very stylish and comfortable. We live in America and come back every year to visit family. You can count on us going here next year.

Upon visiting the den on Friday the 9th of September I ordered myself some food from the tapas menu. I can absolutely 100-percent to say that if anybody is going to go out for a tapas please consider the den. I was so happy with my food that I decided to go there today with a friend for breakfast. The breakfast come out piping hot. The sausages taste amazing and the service was fantastic. And with the new eat out to help out back on the price was nothing to grumble at.

Stunning meal tonight guys. Fab service and the best cocktails in town Always worth a visit.

A girly late lunch. Very friendly Staff. Omg!!!!.....the blue cheese steak sourdough was absolutely fabulous!! Melt in the mouth steak! You can tell they use a very good butcher, not cheap chewy meat! Lovely atmosphere and looking forward to going again soon.

Sat on the lovely terrace, with the cathedral in the background. Very welcoming service and dog friendly. Had the Herefordshire beef burgers and a couple of cold ciders - great!

Good not quite as good as previous visits but still a really decent meal with relaxed atmoshere and friendly staff.

Ate here 2 evenings last week, both times with friends. Every meal was good, and the staff were pleasant and efficient.

I was always a lover of the Den but I am not sure what has happened lately. My fish dish had no depth of flavour. The whole dish was very oily and tiny portion for £16. My son's pizza was not made with pizza dough. It was more like a brushetta. Service was lacking too. This is the second bad experience in row. It is a shame as I have always loved the place.

Had breakfast which was excellent big shout out to Sharon front of house and Andy for cooking great breakfast, best hash browns ever, great job. We might be back in the morning 😉

The rudest welcome I have ever received in a restaurant! Maybe it is not the best idea to have inexperienced waitresses with no customer service training. Is it to hard too ask for basic manners ??? Did not bother to order food. We were given water for the table - we clearly did not get the memo to bring our own glasses as they were not supplied. We did not realise that when asking the waitress for glasses to drink out of would offend her as she was not happy.

We were hoping for a lovely refreshing meal. Unfortunately, we did not even get to the ordering part and were already faced with disappointment. Firstly we did not get approached by anyone even though there were not many customers, and staff were walking near our sitting area consistently. When finally we made eye contact with the young waitress she abruptly asked if we have ordered. We asked for menus which were bought to us and right away we ordered a drink each and water for the table. The waitress bought one drink and no glasses for the water, when we asked for the rest ; she rolled her eyes and went to get them. Having never experienced such cold and uncomfortable service, we knew we will be leaving right after the drink. We asked for the bill. The second waitress then came over and tried to take our drink order, while we drinking and holding our drinks. She then asked us if we want food, when we said no, she continued interviewing us to find out if we have already had food or have ordered (even though there were only about three other tables dining.) Overall cold service, lack of attention, and poor effort.

The food style is not so ordinary, the taste is good, but the atmosphere is very good!

Waiter tried really hard to create a good impression, but spoilt by the kitchen. Ordered 4 portions of tapas then waited 30 mins to be told they had no squid, then had to wait a further 15 mins for the other 3 dishes to arrive. That's an overly long wait at a quiet time for tapas. The waiter offered a complimentary drink, but that's not really the point. The long delay to be told part of the order was not available was poor and with a little forethought could have been managed way better.

Great place to eat. The food was delicious and the staff so friendly and helpful. Went with my husband and 3 year old son. We all enjoyed it and my son loved the slop outside. Such a great atmosphere. Definitely will be going back. And definitely worth a visit if you have not been there before

Breakfast was incredibly fresh, black pudding to die for and best hash browns I have ever tasted, eggs benedict was equally beautiful, well recommended

1st time visiting here today and the breakfast we had was amazing! The quality taste of the sausages and bacon! Took a little longer to come than expected but that shows it was cooked to order and not sat there! Definitely go again and cost wasn’t too bad neither

Went to the Den for our evening meal whilst staying in Hereford. We were met by a happy smiling waiter who welcomed us and showed us to our table, so far so good!! It didn’t last long!! Another young waitress took our drinks and food order, which was fine. Our drinks arrived quickly enough but we had to wait 20 minutes or so for our starter. My partner ordered the Asparagus on Sourdough bread with a poached egg, which was ok but a little on the cold side. However, I ordered the Beef brisket croquettes with blue cheese sauce. When they arrived there was 3 balls on a bed of mixed leaves and a small dish of sauce. When I tried the croquettes they were as tough as old boots and very chewy, I think I managed to eat half of one before giving up on them, they were just the worst thing I’ve ever eaten. I sent them back. The smiley waiter asked what was wrong with them, I told him, he told the manager who came over and apologised and agreed to not charge us for them!! For our next course I had the beef burger and chips, my partner had the lamb which was excellent apparently. So, I’m sorry but we won’t be going back to the Den, the best bit about my meal was the chips, they were ok. One table near us had waited an hour for their meal and it wasn’t as if the place was packed, but service was very lack lustre!! My advice would be to do yourself a favour and go somewhere else in Hereford, we will be!!

Lovely food, good for gluten free.

Lovely place to spend some time, either inside in the cool, or out in the sun. Great breakfast menu, and the vegan fish and chips main is excellent, one of the best imitation fish and chips I've ever had. So clever! Staff are lovely, very friendly, especially Shaz and Jess. A regular stop for me while I'm visiting now.

We loved this place tucked away on Bridge street. The staff were all friendly, attentive and, well, just good at what they do. The food was delicious. Highly recommended.

Totally first class. We called in for breakfast & we happily surprised at the excellent choices available, perfect for our various tastebuds requirements. Dog friendly inside & outside seating area. Fairly priced too. Staff were professional, friendly & accommodating. Whilst we went for Sunday breakfast, they also do Sunday roast dinners, lunchtime and evening meals throughout the week. Would definitely recommend & return again.

Unfortunately wasn't very impressed, heard such good things but the main meal half my group had (lamb) was bland, very fatty, and chewy. The puddings were okay, the starters were okay except the soup apparently was very good.

Our first visit to 'The Den' and we were very impressed. Chose it because they advertise the restaurant as dog friendly. The food was excellent! Interesting dishes on the menu and beautifully presented, but most importantly, the taste was delicious. Staff very friendly, welcoming and attentive. We most definitely will return.

I came here with my 3 year old son and my mum, food was fantastic and the staff were helpful and friendly. Big portions so could share and we will definitely come again

Went for lunch today with one of my sons ..... Great atmosphere great service from Happy smiling staff.... I had warm goats cheese and beetroot salad with walnuts and caramelised onions 😋 yummy my son had the Den burger with fries and coleslaw which he said was delicious and looked it....Will definitely be back 🙂

Had a meal today with my friend. The food was very poor. I had fish and chips. The batter was soggy and the chips were clearly reheated leftovers. My friend had the venison which lacked any sauce, probably reheated like my meal. The staff were OK but we sat for a considerable time after our meal and no-one came to see if we were dead or alive. When we went to pay, 4 members of staff were sat around talking. Obviously no management around. In view of the lack of customers today, more effort should have been made. Very disappointing compared to the last visit at the Den

They serve an excellent breakfast menu. Freshly cooked good quality ingredients served in a clean spacious environment; heating could do with turning up a notch. Friendly service. Main toilet door could do with a self closer.

Delightful surprise to come across The Den in Hereford! Good natured staff, excellent food and charming ambience. Also very dog friendly both inside and out! Staff told us they’re expanding to a cocktail bar for next year, which is a great sign (and very much looking forward to it). Would recommend for meal, snack, tea or drink when out on the town.

A friend and I went to Hereford for the weekend and were looking for somewhere to eat on Friday night, 08/10/2021. We came across The Den and were so glad that we did! What delicious food. I had salmon in mustard sauce with braised fennel - it was excellent. My friend had the risotto and was very impressed with it. We thought the price for nibbles to start, the main meals, a dessert each and soft drinks was very reasonable. Thanks for making us so welcome, too!

The food is excellent, the wine was disappointing. We had steak and a burger, both were excellent. The sharing deli platter was tasty but expected some bread or other accompaniment not just meat. Their Chilean sauvingnon blanc is just horrible, everything else was great.

Fab food, lots of choice, fab, friendly service. Definitely a return visit when next in Hereford.

Excellent service, food and ambience here. Having been let down by another local establishment on the day of my friend's surprise 60th birthday party, the amazing team here stepped in at the last minute and did a fantastic job. They really could not have been more helpful or welcoming to make it a very special evening for everyone - accommodating 25 unexpected guests is no mean feat! The food was delicious and serving staff were all brilliant. Thank you so much!

Food was cold, service was poor, lack of organisation

A solid 4 star review maybe even 4.5. We sort of fell upon The Den and weren't disappointed. The place was quite empty when we arrived but filled quickly. The staff were friendly with their own style of banter which was nice. Menu was quite varied and we enjoyed the food we ordered which was well presented and well cooked. All in all would thoroughly recommend. Consider booking ahead as it did get very full

Lovely and cozy restaurant. We came here for a dinner on our little getaway with our small dog and the staff were really lovely, friendly and attentive. We had the rump steak and that was really delicious too. Would highly recommend.
