The Deli in Birmingham

Fantastic brunch! The food here is top notch and the staff are always friendly and really helpful. It gets busy but that makes for a lovely atmosphere. We had avocado toast with (gorgeous) poached eggs and bacon on sourdough, and some of the family had full breakfasts. Everything was delicious and very good value for what we paid. I think they make the bread and pastries and cakes on site, everything looked yummy 😋

Needs a clean. Popped in recently. Cobwebs hanging from the lights, window sills manky. Walls flaky. And I’m sorry but the standard of coffee’s has gone down hill. Latte tastes like a cappuccino. Not Impressed.

Popped in for a Sunday brunch and were quickly seated. Staff friendly. Ordered quickly and didn’t have to wait too long. Food was very good (Sausage sandwich and Poached Eggs) and good value. Downside is that it just looks a little tired and could do with a clean. The guy in the baseball cap (not sure if he’s the owner or not) was also dressed in what looked like his painting jumper and just didn’t give a good, clean impression. Worth a visit but could be so much nicer.

This is a family owned independent with character. Always busy as a neighbourhood cafe by day and a bar serving bar/deli food at night. Back garden is a nice place to sit out and have a beer and some food.

Great food, great atmosphere, great staff. Love it. Pippa and Matt & Sim so look after you it’s unreal.

We have been a couple of times recently and both times the food was excellent and service was quick and staff very friendly.

Visited mid week for a catch up with friends as love this place, but have since moved away. Great to see all the improvements that have been made and had heard good things. We came to place our order but took forever to get any attention as everyone seemed huddled around the coffee machine was eventually served by a young lad who took our order, seemed a bit put out to be fair as we had obviously disturbed them. We were sat out the front as love to people watch, sad to see food and drink coming out but no attempt to take any used crockery inside or any tables cleaned. Our food arrived swiftly and beautifully presented I do hope the lovely lady who used to cook is still there, I’m guessing the kitchen has moved due to the renovations, think her name was Di as she was previously in the deli shop. I still enjoyed our visit and the food was its saving grace as service was not the best as previously experienced maybe there has been a turnover in staff as they all seemed young. Really hope this is just a blip, and the good work continues.

Brilliant local deli and bar. The staff are wonderful and the quality of the food we ate was excellent. Having experienced lunches, evenings out and some innovative and very well cooked street food this is a must visit if you are in the area. Pippa and team offer a warm welcome and a great selection of food and drink. Back garden was bathed in sunshine and very spacious.

Lovely deli with seating inside and outside at front and back. We sat in the back area which has lots of space and away from the road. It was a great surprise as I didn't realise there was this lovely area. The deli was very busy so service was a little slow, but that wasn't a problem for us a we were having a family catch up. Drinks were excellent and those who had food really enjoyed it. We would definitely call again for lunch as there is an excellent choice. Friendly staff too 😁

Me and my husband went there today for lunch the guy with the cream shorts and black T-shirts rougley shaven was playing with a customers dog outside dog was lovely bulldog he went straight behind the counter and started serving customers dog had been licking his hand put us right off no hygiene at all he never washed his hands not acceptable at all when u work with food 🍱

Me and my friend popped in yesterday for a bit of lunch. I had a fantastic bacon and sausage sandwich with incredible bread. The flavours were delicious. My friend had a chesse salad sandwich and she loved it. The staff were very friendly and helpful they did a great job. This was my 1st time coming am definitely coming back.

When I work in Boldmere these are my go to lunch destination. Best ham salad sandwich, packed with filling and great value. Tried the French Canadian tapas on Friday evening and every dish was fantastic, looking forward to seeing next fridays offering. 10/10 great food and staff

Really good lunch, friendly staff, good value. Visited today at lunchtime, and having gone to the toilet, I realised there was also a rear outdoor seating area, that was vibrant and busy. Staff are really friendly, and the lunch we had was plentiful and good value. We had a goats cheese & onion marmalade toastie, with coleslaw, dressing, & crisps, and bacon & sausage sarnie, both on granary, and really delicious. Lovely coffee and tea too. Definitely would recommend a visit, and hope to return soon.

Arrived on spec early evening and managed to get a nice table in the beer garden. The service was excellent and the food was delicious. A real gem of a place and we will definitely go back with friends.

Just love the Deli. Relaxed and informal, had brunch following a walk in Sutton park with the dog. Had smashed avocado with poached eggs in sour dough. All fresh and eggs cooked to perfection.

Have been there on several occasions, never disappointed. The Staff is friendly, food is nice and healthy (tried egg benedict /Royal, veggie breakfast, avocado on the toast ) and they serve delicious coffees ☕. Can you also buy different kinds of bread.

This place has a lovely atmosphere, great food during both daytime and their evening events of a Friday. The best coffee in Boldmere, especially for people looking for decaf. The staff are incredibly welcoming and friendly and I would recommend this place to anyone.

Ideally located in the heart of Boldmere. Good range of freshly prepared snacks and drinks. Take time out to sit outside and watch the world go by. Good service by friendly staff.

Independent cafe with a good atmosphere and nice staff. Two things need improving... firstly, please bring back your loose leaf teas, Deli management. Boldmere already has loads of places where you can get tea bag tea. Loose leaves and a strainer are soooo much nicer....
