Ridge Chippy in Birmingham

Terrible service, staff are incompetent. Waited 20 minutes for a simple order when the place was empty. Handful of chips for £3 new staff clearly ain’t got a clue. Chips were put in the bag and left for 20 minutes before being packed why not pack it at the end.

Had fish and chips, mushrooms, spring rolls, extra chips and beyond burger. Everything was spot on. First time having the beyond burger and it was absolutely beautiful! Will definitely be having it again. Thanks Ridge Chippy. Perfect as always.

Terrible hair on my Food refusing a refund disgusting

I’ve been coming here for years and it quickly became our local chippy. The food is delicious, clean area and fast service. They’ve just added a new peri peri selection that is delicious as well.

I recently bought some chicken and chips from Ridge Chippy and as always I cannot fault the food as well as the service keep up the good work.

Updated review - food is still ok but they deleted and recreated their Just Eat account so I lost my stamp card credits. Not good Been going here since we moved to the area. Never been disappointed with fish &chips or kebabs.

By far the best Chip shop! All the staff are so welcoming and lovely, food is wonderful and made exactly how you like it. The battered chips are beautiful. There is something that everyone will enjoy on the menu.

Ordered on Foodhub , waited nearly 2 hours , nothing delivered and not answering phone calls , cheers

Brought regular chips barley and chips and a hair in it aswell don't wear hair nets would much recommend olivers about 2 mins away

This place seems to get worse every time I order. Used to be really good, now it’s overpriced for the mediocre food they provide. Then item missing from order, but guess what, phone turned to voicemail so can’t get through to them to complain. Given them enough chances, will avoid in future.

Very small large battered chips the size was nothing like a large, more like a small. For the price of them it is atrocious. Never buying from here again.

I recently ordered from The Ridge Chippy for myself and my family, and we were all blown away! We went big with a large doner kebab, buttered chips, a selection of pies, wraps, and a generous portion from their new Peri Peri menu. Every item was fantastic, and there was something to please everyone. The Peri Peri wings were a family favorite—perfectly seasoned, tender, and with just the right amount of spice. They were some of the best wings we’ve had in a long time. The chicken and rice boxes were also a hit. The rice was fluffy and packed with flavor, and the chicken was juicy and full of spice, a perfect balance for everyone at the table. What really stood out, beyond the delicious food, was the excellent customer service. The staff was warm, welcoming, and attentive, making sure our large order was perfect and that we had everything we needed. Their friendly attitude made the experience even better for all of us. Overall, it was an incredible meal for the whole family. The portions were generous, the flavors were on point, and the service was exceptional. We can’t wait to come back for another family feast! It stated that the orders would include a can of drink and chips. I ordered 3 x Double Joint Wings which each should have included a Can of Drink and Chips. Only received the Wings. No drink or chips. Sorry but not impressed.

I ordered mint yoghurt and chilli sauce with my dinner. They put lots of mint sauce, not mint yoghurt like I requested and hardly any chilli sauce. I would have requested a refund as the mint sauce was overpowering any other taste, but gave it away.

If you’re in Quinton, straight up this is the best food you can get. I’ve lived here for 15 years so I can guarantee it. And I’ll go as far as to say the vest battered chips spot in the whole city. Incredible dinner and mixed meats as well as traditional English food options. They seem to be a lovely family owned restaurant so the service is genuine and amazing. Super kind people who deserve your business.

Standard kebab meat and delivered far later than I was initially told.

We had this mostly on just eat the food was always fresh and hot the southern fried chicken if available was always cooked perfectly with an extra spice the fish was always perfectly cook plus the kebab meat was always on point always on time never late always phone if the item was not there nice and polite staff can't believe it has so many bad reviews battered chips fantastic 😋

I placed an order which then came up on app saying enjoy your food. It hadn't even arrived. The food finally arrived about 30 mins late. The chips were almost cold. The service on this occasion at this restaurant was terrible.

Chips were not fresh cold and hard the donner meat was cold not good at all I advise people not to go there

I have been waiting nearly 2 hours for the food! Called the restaurant and they were rude unhelpful and said to just carry on waiting! I gave up and have gone out to get food elsewhere instead! The food has still not arrived

We used to love the food from Ridge Chippy, but the quality has been variable of late. Worse still: the delivery times are appalling. We finally received our order an hour and a half after ordering, which, for fish and chips, is extraordinarily poor. No apologies given.

the food is almost always missing something you ordered or absolutely freezing DO NOT ORDER we had undercooked chips delivered to us burgers with FROZEN buns and the people in there are terrible they're always arguing and just so dopey they take so long to piece the order together and it's usually faulty and what's gross is they don't even use hairnets!! check your food for hairs atop the already long list of issues. went in there once an the owner was watching a tiktok live while making my food. she forgot an item even though she asked what we wanted like 3 times. horrific to say the least

I order food from yourselves on a regular basis but tonight I'm really unhappy with my meal the kebab was really dry hardly any sauce or salad I'm disappointed in how you haven't resolved this

it was 30 minutes late, so only just warm. there was a pickled onion missing from order, and they sent curry sauce, instead of the mushy peas I ordered

Slightly disappointed with what I ordered unfortunately. I ordered a cone of Battered Chips and was sent Normal Chips. The 2 Cheese Croquets that I ordered, 1 arrived and it was a squashed mess. The Sampi that was ordered, some of it was over cooked. Disappointing because I have ordered from here before and the quality is normally really good. Not sure what happened this time.

Delivery was within their time frame but still took over an hr. Wasn’t a complicated order, everything was “soggy” including battered chips. Batter on tinned roe was thick & soggy. Sorry won’t be using again.

Food lovely but over 2 hours from ordering is not acceptable. The original delivery time was long enough but then to be over half an hour after that making it over 2 hours, to be told there was a glitch with the system and also on delivery it’s really busy

Shocked by the reviews being left recently. Other than delivery being a little bit longer than anticipated (mostly because the drivers been told to go there, but always still before Ubers latest times)…. We’ve NEVER had an issue The food has always been amazing quality, never been sick and I regularly recommend this chip shop to people who say the same. The battered chips are amazing, and their chicken tikka meat i personally think is some of the best in the area. If in the future this should change then I’ll update my review but as of now it’s a 👍 from me. (Added photos on 14th feb 24 as food was fantastic as always)

Chips in curry sauce were delicious, and so was the large cod. Also the delivery guy was very pleasant.

Ordered food through uber all items checked off on list, not all items in bag, called to explain was told that I can have free one next time 🤣 as that resolved leaving one person hungery now customer service shocking just get passed from one person to another on the phone will use another local chip shop from now on

1hr 55 mins for delivery. This is the 2nd and last time it's happened. Food was ok but only Luke warm. I tried to call for a check on delivery but no answer. Sorry, but not ordering again.

Food was delayed then late. Came warm if that. Ordered large mixed meat and chips came as medium. Normal chips look like they’ve been tossed around. Gone downhill. Have always used this chippy but the last few times have been shocking.

After ordering kebab meat and chips on Saturday night I thought it was very low quality but that happens sometimes! I ate about a third of the meat then just ate the chips. However the next morning I was vomiting every 10 minutes all day long. I don’t think I’ve ever had food poisoning before but it was the worst experience ever. I’d rather give birth again! The only thing it could be is the kebab meat and chips from Ridge Chippy. My partner just had battered chips and sauce and he was fine. Will never be ordering from here again.

Took around 2 hours for food to arrive. Ordered at 6.15. The app said my food was on way at 8.25, then said delivered at 8.45. But had not been. Clearly cheating the system so it doesn't look like they are late. Then a young child (maybe about 8?) Knocked the door, hugging the bag of food, this was after 9pm? The food was ok, no issues but delivery service and dishonesty with time etc has put me off ordering from here again.

Usually love the battered chips and most of the food was tasty; but there was quite a lot of black parts on the chips, so not all edible. Small portions.

Really good food… good quality & delicious.

This place used to be so so good, but unfortunately the past 3 orders have been horrendous, from missing items to inedible food. Today was the last straw for me my food was drenched literally drenched in vinegar I couldn’t eat it. The past orders have been full of grease too super greasy! Not great at all which is a shame as I really liked this place, but I can’t and won’t be ordering from ridge chippy again.

Excellent quality goods from this place. Tried the Onion Rings along with other items this time. You could tell that they weren't shop brought standard. Real rings of Onion battered and deep fried. Wonderful.

Joke of a service. 1 and half hours late. Tried to call the restaurant with no answer every time. Driver was rude and said he doesn't need to be sorry the food is late. Finally arrive to miss not getting chips. Reason for getting a chippy is for the chips. Poor Poor service

Terrible customer service we tried to order over the phone today 25/09/2023 and was told to order online because they are busy and the woman on the phone just put the phone down we have been loyal customers for a while and the food used to be great but the last 4 or 5 orders have been wrong. NEVER AGAIN. plenty more food outlet's that can have our £120 a month
