Premier Inn Birmingham City Centre (Waterloo Street) hotel in Birmingham

Stayed here for the first time while in Birmingham. I had read previous reviews and took with a pinch of salt. The room was absolutely beautiful for standard. Wasn't that bothered about the view since the curtains would be closed anyway! Food in the attached restaurant was top quality and definitely value for money. For £30, it includes unlimited breakfast and a evening meal deal comprising of either starter and main OR main and dessert. I chose starter (beef burnt ends) and main (8oz rump with chips) and includes a drink. WOW! * * * * *

This was the first time me and my daughter stayed here, we were welcome on entry the room was lovely spacious even doe we've had much bigger at other premier inns. The room service was good the food from restaurant was beautiful only problem was there wasn't much on the menu when we stayed. Breakfast was nice but we wished there was more even doe one of the waitress went out of her way to get yoghurts for my daughter, which was most appreciated. All the staff were great and the location was good too all and all we had a good stay

The best room ive had at a premier inn. Room staff clearly take pride in their job. Staff very friendly. Location is spot on right next to the cathedral.

Been here 30 minutes and the hospitality me & my daughter have received has been amazing, paid for early check in at 11am they've got the room ready for us at 8am, daughter ate for free & the staff are wonderful very helpful

Really nice, cheap, and service was top notch. Sharon, the receptionist was really kind and helpful so I would like to thank her for her kindness.

Although the location of this hotel is fantastic the actual hotel is not. First time I stayed i had a standard room. The heating/air con was so loud I had to turn it off. But I had a pretty decent view, big comfortable bed and a bath. Because of the loud heater I thought next time I'd try the premium plus room. Unfortunately this room is worse. Loud heater. Tv signal is bad, view is awful (opposite a building with a big dark wall), the wifi password didn't work. The carpet has dirty marks. Very disappointed as premier inn is usually reliable. I won't be staying at this one again.

Staff very friendly and helpful

All you can hear is people using their taps, it’s incredibly loud and the cleanliness of the rooms were not at all up to standard. Don’t bother with Premier Inn. Location can’t be faulted but that is its only redeeming quality.

Stayed here after a long day. It was quiet and clean.

Location :- In the heart of the city centre with access to trains and busses. Overall Service - 10/10 service from the lady on the front desk and the lovely girl who served me in the restaurant. Very friendly staffs. Can't fault their customer service at all. Room - Normal room as it was busy during the festive period. Spotless room. Parking - Can park outside during the Ringo Parking App. Limited parking First come , First serve. There's a few NCP around , 5/10 mins walk from the hotel. Food - Was a bit unlucky as they had a limited menu due to food shortage. Opted for whatever was on the menu. Everything that came out from the kitchen was solid. No complaints whatsoever. A bit gutted they had a limited menu. Will definitely go back and try the rest of their menu

For a central location rm 603 was rather small in comparison to the ones i stay at in London especially near the shard, which is superb.

We stayed from the 7th-8th and while I don’t remember their names, the staff were extremely helpful and kind to my friend and I, (especially the staff member with the cool red hair) helping us store our luggage, offering extra rooms following the storm, offering advice on the Christmas markets, overall the service was amazing and we will almost certainly be staying again next time we are in the area. Thank you!!

Very friendly and helpful staff

People who work here are very nice and don’t get me wrong the location is great however I was disgusted with the cleaning there is hair all up the wall in the shower and hair in the bed which both have the same colour. Me and my partner are not black heard . I asked for rather get moved to another room or the bed to be changed as they weren’t clean however they said that out of 700 rooms they ain’t got one free for two people and then gave us the clean sheets to then be told we have to change the bed and do there job which they failed in the first place ik this ain’t nothing to do with staff however I clean apartments myself and this wrong to leave a room in this condition I’m truly disgusted to this and I do have to say for a place with such good reviews me and my partner have been let down

Lovely modern room and staff were very pleasant and helpful. Location is very convenient for shopping, can be a little loud on Saturday night but to be expected for the area.

Reception staff very helpful. Room clean and one of the comfiest beds I've slept in. Good selection of food in the restaurant and staff pleasant and helpful.

Apart from the noisy and slow air conditioning, the window wouldn't stay open (used the cushion to wedge underneath), watered down hand and body wash, the shower tray wouldn't empty properly so I think it's blocked, the broken coffee machine tray, restricted volume on the TV (a first for us at a premier inn) and missing a set of towels (was rectified), we had an ok stay in our premier plus room and the location was ideal for new street station and the town hall.

I had a wonderful time and good rest. With Zoe(one of the ladies in restaurant) being so nice, attentive and professional. Hope to check in again.

Best nights sleep ive had in Birmingham! Room was clean, pacious and bed was comfy. Breakfast was delicious.

Great for the Utilita Arena, a short walk away, close to the shopping areas, and a great choice of eateries.

We had a family room and a nice view of the cathedral. The ladies who helped us check in and out made the transaction smoothly. The room was clean and AC worked very well just a bit noisy but didn’t put us off. This Premier Inn wasn’t too far from the bull ring it’s a 5 mins walk.

Staff at this premier inn are probably the best in the country! They are welcoming, accommodating & just overall AMAZING! We had a slight issue with our room on check In which was sorted instantly by a lovely lady called Tina! Room was spotless & smelt very clean. We even had a little welcome present left in the room for us which was a shock to say the least! All staff are extremely friendly. Premier inn you need to be proud of Birmingham Waterloo St!

Good proximity for Utilitia Arena, main reason for travel , along with shops and dining out. However, found it noisy at night and the room was small for family staying, with 2 children

Well positioned Premier Inn close to Birmingham city centre, art gallery, library and Rep theatre. The downside to the location is the lack of parking. There is 4 hours in the street outside during the day. The nearest long term parking is at Snow Hill station or more expensive but a lot closer in Temple Lane. Many of the rooms have nice views over the cathedral and surrounding park. Though this looks nice it does attract more than it's fair share of rough sleepers around the area. There are Premier Plus rooms on the top floors though the staff said they do not have views over the park. There is a bar and restaurant attached but be aware that it closes at 22:00. There are plenty of other restaurants and bars around covering everything from cheap burgers to high quality Italian.

The hotel room was clean, great night sleep the bed was really comfy. All the staff were friendly and helpful we had no issue with noise.

I spend one night at this hotel. Free breakfast. Overall, the service is good.. Recommended for families.

Had to change rooms due to a booking error, couldn't go straight into the new on and in-between rooms my perfume 'disappeared ' wouldn't be as angry if it wasn't £120. The staff didn't know what scent it was but the only feedback I got was "nobody would 'take it' as its not their kind of brand". I'm pretty ocd with things and triple check when leaving. So can only assume it went during the storage phase of the change over. Keep your things safe and locked if you go there.

Had two different stays and both were poor and had to switch rooms. Cold rooms and noisy air-conditioning. Breakfast was poor, over cooked food on hotplates. Not the usual from the premier inn, leaves a lot to be desired.
