1st day of the breakfast, cup of coffee £3 - normal price until I was given a cup with a spoonful of coffee in and was told to help myself to water, sugar and milk Ordered a bacon and sausage sandwich - 2 slices of inspid bacon and 1 link of sausage cut in half £7.20!!!!! Definitely won’t be supporting the cafe again!!! The owner obviously not a biker but a rip off merchant

Visited on way back from Powis Castle. Very quaint bar area with biker theme. Great to see rolls etc on bar. Never see this now in most pubs. Had a great meal with my partner of faggots in gravy recommended by who I assume was the landlady. Really tasty and satisfying. Nothing fancy just good food. Very reasonable too. Will definitely visit again if in the area

Came here for a quick, quiet drink on the way back from Bridgnorth. Had been there for 20 mins when a man, presumably the owner, told my missus she shouldn’t be bringing her own drinks in (she brought a carton of a cold coffee drink in). This is fair enough, but firstly she had been a paying customer purchasing a pint of Carling on my behalf, and secondly it’s not been an issue anywhere else unless you’re obviously taking the pee. On leaving, we saw said guy associated with a gang of bikers, which makes perfect sense. A decent set-up with potential, and the barmaid was friendly enough, but not the greatest landlord.

Disappointed at new food options! (Or lack of them )! Seem now to focus on cobs so we did not bother! Also the decor in Back room of Harley Davidson livery we thought did not suit the pub! Fire not on and we were cold! Good beer and dog friendly else would have scored less! Sorry won’t be returning.

Rather disappointing that lunchtime food is now reduced to just cobs . Only two choices ham or cheese with salad. Cobs nice enough but not great . Would have been better if served with crisps but you have to buy these separately . Overpriced sausage rolls ( cold ) an alternative option. Used to have lovely choices of hot food at lunchtime - not sure if owners have changed but when we we went were the only ones there which should have given us the warning signs. Sorry unlikely to return for lunch

We hired the function room at The Danery for a party to celebrate a 90th birthday and a diamond wedding anniversary. Tina could not have been kinder or more helpful, she allowed us to decorate the room with bunting and flowers. The staff were happy and kind and the food they supplied was beautiful, plain and simple just what we wanted but so nicely presented and beautifully fresh In essence it was a fantastic afternoon made so easy by Tina and the team

Called in for a spot of lunch after a decent walk and weren’t disappointed. Lovely selection of cobs, pork pies, olives, gherkins, and the old standby pickled eggs and pickled onions. I had a hot pork cob with stuffing and gravy was a bit too early for the roast potatoes. So nice I had two and that’s unheard of. The other half had a cheese cob and pork pie both amazing apparently. Well worth the visit staff and local clientele really friendly. Made to feel really welcome.

We booked The Shed for music rehearsals for a forthcoming production and were made to feel unwelcome from the start. The first week, several of us wanted to stay and give them some custom after our rehearsal and my partner came to meet us, but they had turned all lights off and bolted the door, leaving my partner outside and us with a distinct feeling of not being welcome. The two next rehearsals, they had complained that we weren't buying drinks but they made it impossible so we all went out of our way to buy drinks, say thank you, be pleasant etc. However, following a week when they said they needed to get away and they would see us on 8th Feb, I contacted them as there was a post on their Facebook page to say they would be closed. I made contact to ask whether we needed to take our own drinks but have still not had a reply more than a week later. It was only the constant pestering of another committee member which yielded a reply - just a sorry, no explanation! This has left us in a very difficult position but they don't seem to care - they have just posted they have painted the elephant in the garden but no sign of the alterations they said they were doing. So long as they have this attitude, I can't see it working out for them.

Went for a drink with 4 friends and 4 young kids after a lovely afternoon at the Christmas market in Bridgnorth. Without no warning the landlord came up to our table, swearing Informing us our children were out of control. He then squared up to my partner absolutely disgusting! His wife who was working behind the bar kept apologising on his behalf. One of our children was fast asleep, one sat at the table throughout our time there and the other 2 were playing at the end of our table with the items on show. Instead of talking to us he just behaved in this way, I can only assume he was drunk. He left our daughter in tears who is 8. I don’t think I have ever been assaulted by a publican in this way, especially at 4pm in the afternoon. It’s a shame that a pub that has been so well respected all these years is now being looked after by such angry people. We are very respectful people and from the local area. If you have a family, do not go to this pub.

This is fairly local for us though we have not visited for a number of years. The sun was out and to save the good lady cooking I took her out for Sunday lunch. The setting is pleasant enough and some things given the circumstances I am happy to let slide, being asked 4 times for our drinks order even though it was given to the first staff member, a Sunday lunch menu that literally had 5 dishes on, ok, people are working hard and there is a pandemic. We were even prepared to accept a short wait as it was explained to us and even though fish was on the menu twice they had none (cross it out on the menu or say when you bring the menus that the fish is off). However, and after waiting nearly an hour, what is unforgiveable is the standard of what was served to us, I have to be honest, it was the worst meal out we have had, really unappetising and a real disappointment. My wife who is a good sort would normally battle through but for her to put the cutlery down (which we had to ask for as I guess they thought we might use our fingers) says it all. Honestly, if I had not put salt on it I would have tasted nothing in the couple of mouthfuls I attempted to eat.I know hospitality has had a bad time, so despite not eating the food as it was that poor I paid and we left without a fuss but I think the full plates of what I can only describe as slop being left behind 5 minutes after it had been served to us would serve as an indication of our displeasure.I shall not visit The Danery again and I am afraid would not recommend it in the slightest, really very bad.

The Turkey was tasteless, and drowning in thick glupy gravey, the pigs in blankets had no blankets and were shrivelled up cocktail sausages, the vegetables had been way over cooked and had started to loose their colour. The Pie was not much better. We tried to eat some of it but it was so unappetising it made me feel nauseous. We shall not be visiting or recommending this pub again.

Had high hopes given exterior/setting and website, but the lunch we had was really poor. We were sat in the chilly and un-atmospheric function room complete with sound system playing party music. No real veggie Sunday lunch option, I asked the waitress what the dish they called Provencal actually was and she described it as mash and other veg so we gave up and just ordered it for lack of options. We were given a sloppy mix of veg in an overly salty tomato sauce, that came with white rice. I ate it purely out of hunger. Two of us had cod which came with grey peas and fozen chips. One had turkey that was undercooked. We sat and ate it feeling pretty miserable, the manageress seemed unaproachable when we asked for some roast potatoes that should have already come with the meal. With 2 soft drinks and 2 halfs of beer the bill came to nearly £70. Never agin.

We appreciate that The Danery is now under new management and as such things take time to sort themselves out but to be honest we were not impressed. The food was very much average. We had a mixed grill, sirloin steak (which I think was past it's best with a strange taste but difficult to really pin point exactly what was wrong, though unfortunately I later had a very upset tummy) and a chicken curry. The staff were friendly enough but didn't ask if everything was alright or indeed clear our plates away before dessert arrived. The table mats were clearly very unhygienic. This is a pub were once being in our family we always use even under previous owners and had family events there. Sadly we will not be going again.

Unfortunately we didn't enjoy our mothers day meal at all. Prawn cocktail and pate starters were awful. Extremely small portions, 3/4 of the plate was filled out with salad (which was not fresh). Vegetables served with the sunday lunch were terrible. They also were not fresh at all. Will 100% not be returning or recommending. Very disappointing

We stopped off on the off chance having read that It was a dog friendly venue. It was very busy and had a nice atmosphere. Our dog was made welcome and we enjoyed a very good lunch that was reasonably priced. We shall be back!

Unfortunately it was very very poor! Sandwich with 2 pieces of ham, dry sliced bread and no butter. 1/4 full bowl of soup which was better than the sandwich. Hate to put negative reviews but please use as constructive criticism.

Tried a sandwich in the week and then Sunday roast of which both were excellent. Very good food, good prices and friendly professional staff. What more could you ask for in any pub or restaurant. Our friends have asked us for a return visit.

We stayed locally and dropped in here a couple of times and i haven't been in a quieter place for years. Considering the amount of people that were staying in the area i found this surprising as this is the only pub for miles ,which makes me think it must be running down towards closure, which is sad.

We really enjoyed our visit, with family, to The Danery. The food was freshly cooked, piping hot and delicious. There was a excellent range of main course meals to choose from and a very good children's menu, the dessert portions were extremely generous! We were made to feel welcome and the service was friendly and efficient. We will definitely be returning soon.

Hadn't been here for years, found everthing right up to scratch! Had a good pint in the bar, then went outide and had a couple more in the sunshine. Went into the function room for the after wedding meal etc. Not a thing to complain about. Food and service faultless. Highly reccomended even if not attending a function!

Good food and service all at a fair price and served with a smile and not just typical pub grub!!! WE went with friends and they were suitably impressed especially the puddings.

Because it was so warm we wanted somewhere to be able to sit outside with the dog. The danery suited our needs just great. Menu was very varied for a Sunday, my mother had lamb, I had the roast beef, we couldn’t fault it, veg came separate with some extra gravy so we could help ourselves, my son had a pork bap with stuffing and gravy and chips as a side. My granddaughter who is a very fussy eater was accommodated with chips and lots of cheese. There were plenty of tables outside and arranged so that there was plenty of space, they also do a covered area outside if you didn’t want to be in the sun. Well done we had a lovely meal and not too pricey and we didn’t have to wait long to be served. I would recommend anyone looking for a casual outdoor meal to try the danery, you won’t be disappointed.

I like some of the 'nooks and crannies' in this pub - there are some nice places to sit. We had to wait a bit to get any attention from the staff, but then service was prompt and friendly.

Came here for lunch on a mid week afternoon. Bar lady unfriendly and quite rude. If you’re not a local, don’t expect great service. Food mediocre. We were told they were closing and basically to leave soon. Will probably not return.

First time here, based on other reviews. Bar lady was rude and dismissive, and when asked if the chips could be left off my order, was told 'we can't change the menu'. I simply didn't my chips, but they had to go on the plate regardless. Friend's bacon on his burger was still oinking and mushrooms arrived in a sea of butter as shown in the picture.

I have visited this pub on average twice a year for nearly 30 yrs..The food is always cooked as it should be.The service is excellent and the fare is what one would expect for a village pub on a main road. There are not many places I recommend as many today vary daily depending which chef is on, I strongly recommend The Danery being above average

Lots of lovely places in Ludlow, this one is not in the top 10. It’s a bit more of a canteen than a quaint cafe. The foods OK but not generous. We couldn’t get in anywhere else as they all required pre booking. The staff were helpful.

Visited this lovely country pub following recommendations from neighbours. The menu is small but full of home made dishes. As a group of 4 we enjoyed chicken and Stilton pie and vegetables, gammon, sweetcorn, chips and pineapple, chilli con carne and a really meaty pork chop, chips and peas. Really good home cooked food so much better than the normal pub grub. It also means the menu changes regularly. Sensibly priced making eating out a pleasure. Desserts just had to be tried. The whisky bread and butter pudding was suitably named and the apple crumble with custard was a winner too. The Sunday roast advertised at £9.30 will have to be tried another weekend. Delicious home cooked food is always so much better than bought in dishes. We praised the chef and June for a lovely warm welcome and a great meal.
