Great food great staff can’t fault it, we’ve been 4 times and it has always been lovely, great choice of burgers and sides

I’ve just had the best experience in the Dancing Moose. We started with a kilo of wings followed by the best burger I’ve ever eaten!!! Amazing. Washed down with an IPA. Fabulous value for money and will return very soon. Well done Sam and Molly. When the food is this good you ask for names 👍👍

So disappointed by my experience. I used to love coming here for a beer and some wings but will not be returning. The quality of the food was poor. Chicken wings were dry and small portions. Tacos were soggy and fell apart. There was no atmosphere. To top it off the bar staff were just sat on the floor vaping. Save your money. Don’t go.

When asking how many wings you get for half a kilo, we were told 6. I order a kilo so theoretically 12 wings whilst my friend ordered half a kilo. When they arrived, my kilo portion was 6 wings and my friends half kilo was 4 wings. I asked how this worked out and the staff said usually they cut the wings in half.. so this would still total 6 wings? And surely this is done on weight as sold on the menu. Strange. The wings were dry, over cooked and quickly tossed in some sauce which I actually saw when I walked past to go to the loo. The tacos were served in a soggy split wrap. Absolutely no atmosphere in here. Even the staff behind the bar were so bored they sat on the floor on their phones behind the bar lol. I am aggravated I spent money here and will absolutely no be returning.

We use to love this place !! But after our dinner experience last night we will not be back !! We made a booking for 7:30 ( 5 people) the initial service of 1st drinks menu's etc was ok. But then we got ignored for 45 mins because they didn't want to take our order as the kitchen were understaffed, only once another table got their food did they take out order !! The menu choices has definitely got a lot less than what i remembered, but we all ordered burgers / pasta or salad - we enjoyed the food ,- prices were really over the top £16 for a burger !! The food got to our table at about 8:40 !! At 9pm they starting taking our plates away & told us that we had to move tables as thd DJ needed to set up where our table was located !! Bearing in mind that we did book in advance this was very irritating to say the less ! The manner it was handled was very rude.... we were reminded by the security guy (5 minutes later) that we had to move tables! We asked for a bill & couldn't wait to leave ! Service was shocking & no signs of management! Drinks very overpriced! We had a terrible evening at this once very popular & enjoyable venue... its a pity to see how empty this place was on a friday evening... management needs to change.

Really lovely staff and service and it’s nice and quiet upstairs so you can chat and eat. The margaritas were lush. We all had burgers which were good but not amazing. But not too bad for the price. Downstairs is much more pubby.

Went back to the DM after they’ve changed their menu back and added a few additions! With the introduction of some seriously spicy wings, it’s arguably better than before. The fries were so dirty, I had to go home and take a shower! I will be back Well played Moose…. Well played

Ate here for the first time, wanted somewhere different to try. The attention from the staff was excellent from the beginning, Jasper looked after us very well, explaining the new menu and the options. A very cosy quieter atmosphere upstairs and would certainly go back again (and remember to tip this time) as Jasper certainly deserved a tip, must drop one in when passing. Jasper's attention was 100% so this is exactly how it should be when going out for a meal. The food was perfect and served in a timely manner between courses. Keep up the good work.

THE DANCING MOOSE IS DEAD! I have been coming to the dancing moose for about 4 years now and until today would have said 5*…….however, whoever made the decision to change the menu needs to take a long hard look at themselves in the mirror. You’ve just destroyed all that was good about the Dancing Moose in Wimborne!!! Well done, you are now like every other bog standard restaurant in the area. The wings, burgers, ribs and dirty fries to name but a few, have all been removed and replaced with luke warm alternatives that make the local Prezzo look like fine dining. I’m begging you to go back to what you did best; hot wings that burnt going in … and out, a chicken burger the size of a small child and grilled meats that would make even the Gods weep! At the time of eating, the menu was less than 1 week old and even the staff noted it was a mistake to change! MAKE THE MOOSE GREAT AGAIN!! Sadly we won’t be returning unless it changes back.

A disappointing visit to the moose poor staff eating and vaping whilst customers eating distracted staff... whilst prices still high end ....a deterioration in whole dining experience in wimborne will not be returning so sad to see

two drinks, 1 amstel one large Savignon blanc nearly £17. Absolutely ridiculous Bar staff was useless tried to give me a dirty glass, then took five minutes to clean one . I did ask how much the wine wise and it’s £11. There is no price list in the bar

Came here for a belated birthday dinner… I will not be returning! Slow service… cocktail napkins for serviettes, ordered and then not all food came out at the same time… 10 minutes awaiting for one of my friends burgers to arrive while others where getting cold. And if you thought that was bad, a friend of mine who rang up during the day to ask the options of their gluten free range… the lady on the phone was pleasant and told my friend the options when we arrive my friend asked again but to make sure of what she could have and couldn’t help feel it was such an inconvenience for them… considering they mention they have gluten free options all that was offered was 3 meals well I say meals… nachos…. A chicken breast and another what I would call snack…. My friend opted for nachos and chicken breast on top… this looked lovely but was served cold much like our burgers and this wasn’t because they were hanging around while we waited for the other food to be served. Such a shame as the cocktails we enjoyed where delicious. We also got charged a service charge which was not correct. I wouldn’t eat here. Very over priced and not helpful staff - but if you enjoy staff swearing and vaping at the bar this place is all yours :)

How can a venue which serves food, not provide proper-sized napkins? We were given two tiny cocktail ones. We asked for more but an onion ring still managed to escape its casing and cover my husband's shorts in several large blobs of grease. We ordered a bottle of rosé wine but the completely wrong one was brought in an ice bucket. Label not shown to us. I asked for it to be corrected. We waited but it was not opened for us. We had to do this and no napkin wrapped round a dripping bottle. I suppose this was difficult, as they don't do proper napkins. Not acceptable. This place might be ok for people who don't have proper table manners but it's not somewhere we would visit again. There are better places to spend your money and I'd avoid this place. One nice thing, the young lady server was jolly, bright and engaging.

We have been a couple of times in the last 6 months. The food every time has been excellent, however cost is not representative of Wimborne prices. They are offering nothing new in Wimborne and need new ideas! Staff turnover is clearly high as never the same member of staff and clearly had no training. Similar remark made on trip advisor about Ashley cross. Overheard a conversation about high staff turnover and only one member of staff left in kitchen as management don’t appreciate staff. Shame on them and understanding how to work WITH your staff to get the most out of a business. They don’t deserve custom.

Went on £10 burger night which is great value. Burgers were great with good service. Will definitely visit again.

Went mid week so it wasn't too busy, really pleasant, laid back atmosphere probably helped by friendly and attentive (but not overbearing) staff. Food wise I can only comment on what we ordered, we all had wings and the Korean wings were heavenly. Really really tasty :)

Nothing was completely awful about our meal, but generally it felt like there was a lot that could have been improved, especially for the price you are paying. It was a Tuesday night and not super busy, but we still had to actively track down...

Popped in with friends for a quick cocktail & ending up staying for hours! The service was amazing - attentive, knowledgeable & friendly. We sampled many cocktails & I can recommend them all! We even stayed for dirty fries before going home! Can’t wait to go again!

We have tried on two occasion recently to have a social drink here, previously we have had some nice times at the Dancing Moose, however the last two occasions we have found the bar staff dismissive and unhelpful and more distracted with talking among themselves than to serve us in a polite and attentive manner. We found them to be arrogant and customer service far from their minds. will not return.

I seem to leave happier than when I entered...a clear sign of a great hostelry. This place has it all, great staff, great beers, cocktails and decent food. Entertainment is often on and the ambience is good too. Its just a bit crowded and popular on a Friday and Sat night! There's a good reason for that of course.

I had breakfast in the Dancing Moose in Wimborne a few months ago and the food and service were excellent. The Big Breakfast had quality ingredients and was cooked perfectly.We returned today for breakfast and ended up leaving very disappointed. The food was very poor by comparison, both in the quality of the ingredients and especially in the cooking. My partner's food arrived cold and mine was overcooked. The poached eggs were more like hard boiled or rubber bouncing balls and the rest of the food was equally disappointing. Even the coffee was worse than last time and was poor.I don't know what's happened, if they have new management of cooks, but the quality has reduced significantly. For the food to be so much worse in so little time was very disappointing. It was excellent value before but now it's poor.

Had visited the Dancing Moose in Ashley Cross for a drink before but never to the Wimborne branch or to eat.Simply put - we had a great time! Tasty, fresh food (King James sandwich and Eggs Florentine with Chorizo) decent beer and friendly, efficient and welcoming staff. An idea place to come with friends for all occasions. Well Done!

Just had a fantastic lunch with my family at Dancing Moose in Wimborne. I was expecting something like quick burger meal with some salads and sides. I definitely was wrong! This place a lot more than a burger bar. Fantastic food, well presented and very very delicious! The menu is great, includes plenty of vegetarian options too. A lots of characters and ambiance, a lovely experience overall. Special thank to Emma and Jackie for their great welcoming smile and service, they certainly made sure we'll be back. Also a huge thank to all of the guys behind the scenes who had created our food, meal just perfectly done and made our visit remember able. Well done You guys, we'll be back and thank you! This is a Favorite place of ours to visit, So we called here for Sunday Breakfast around 10.30They had a large Party ordering so expected a wait and with only two of them working their socks off it was a little bit of a wait.We ordered One Big Breakfast and one Big Vegi Breakfast ( states Red Onion and Rosemary Sausages on the Vegi Option ) after quite a wait which again i stress was ok as they were running on just two staff working hard our food arrived, well the vegi option didnt have those sausages instead were two very soggy greasy looking vegetable croquette fingers not only did they look yuk but tasted it too, I did ask them to sort the sausages but sadly two more of these insipid greasy things arrrived again. Very disappointing as I would not have ordered this option if they had said that it was not as described on the menu.We have always had wonderful food but this was not a nice meal at all, What has changed? The Chef? Hopefully it was a one off as we loved the atmosphere here previously If things are not as they state on the Menu Tell you customers so they are not unhappy with the options served Vegi Croquettes are no substitute for Sausages sorry

Well done service excellent, menu very good selection , drinks arrivied swiftly and nice and hot, had brunch menu meal ,this arrived after being cooked fresh and arrivied nice and hot, good portion size . Note we sat upstairs if you are able to make it much quieter .

My friend won the meal and it was amazing, lovely Restaurant very helpful staff and very polite makes all the difference, Best Roast Dinner I have ever eaten.

My boyfriend and I went to the Moose in Wimborne on a Wednesday evening and were not disappointed!! We were served by Sam and Chris who were so attentive and friendly. The food was also lovely, no complaints here. We will definitely be returning again.

We were offered the upstairs room for our party of 16, which was ideal. The staff were brilliant and the meal was perfect. Would have been 5* if the plates had been hotter!

Great place for a gathering. I had the vegetarian lentil roast. Very tasty and so much food - carrots, sprouts, parsnips & potatoes as well as stuffing & gravy - no yorkie pud - I wonder what happened to that but probably couldn't have eaten it anyway!All served with a smile.

16 of us gathered in the upstairs room for Xmas lunch. Although I had to settle for a basket of yummy sweet potato chips as I was out in the evening, service was excellent and the Xmas turkey roast looked delicious. Nothing was too much trouble. Shall definitely return.

There was plenty of room for sixteen of us in a bright upstairs room. The staff and food were lovely. The portions were very generous which, sadly, meant I couldn’t finish my meal! Thank you for a very enjoyable Christmas lunch.

A group of 16 of us upstairs for our Xmas meal. I wasn't having the full dinner, but the meals looked nicely presented and lots of turkey!I had the American eggs. Bit of a concoction to be honest. Tasty but the poached eggs were hard, no runny yolk.I would recommend and go again though.

The Christmoose roast was very well presented, plenty of Turkey, veg, etc. It was delicious, but unfortunately being a little & often eater!! I couldn't manage it all. Being a large group we booked the upstairs room which was light & spacious. The service was professional & friendly. Thank you for making our Christmas Lunch special.

We visited for what we thought would be a quick breakfast, we waited nearly an hour for our food to come with no apology or explanation as to why it took so long. The food was barely warm when it arrived, my poached egg was solid, and the side of sourdough with my little English never arrived. Overall, very disappointing.

I visited the Moose in Wimborne for lunch with a friend. When we ordered food we were made aware that there was a 30 minute wait for our food, which we didnt mind. When our food arrived however the order was incorrect and the quality of the food was very poor.I had ordered a chicken wrap with no bacon or mayo and I received a fried chicken wrap with bacon and lots of mayo as well as a portion of cold and soggy chips. I picked out as much of the contents of the wrap as possible that wasn’t covered in mayo and removed the bacon and tried to eat what was left, which wasn’t a lot. I didn’t want to send it back due to the amount of time we had waited for our food. My friend ordered cheese nachos which were very overcooked.The waitress was very pleasant and did try to compensate by charging me for a medium wine rather than a large wine. Although I didn’t feel really that this made Up for the poor lunch experience. I was quite disappointed following this trip and I don’t think I will be visiting the moose in Wimborne for food again. This is a shame because I often attend the one in Ashley cross and the food quality there is much better.

We had booked on line but due to an error they were actually fully booked. However the manager found a table for us and we had a fabulous evening. The place has a great atmosphere and the service was cheerful and helpful. We shared 4 of the small plate dishes that were well cooked, pleasantly presented and delicious! Decided to try the burgers ... at half price and happy hour. Can’t go wrong. They were delicious.The size of the burgers are very good. Very tasty.We actually booked, as noticed previously, tables were reserved.Glad we did.The staff are very friendly. Service quick and can order at the table and pay later.Can’t wait to go again. Think might have to try each one on the menu. Which means several visits. Would seem a shame not to.

Don't review unless I am delighted with everything. One of the nicest places to eat. Took the dogs with us, lovely polite and helpful staff and food was excellent. Have told everyone to eat here and take their dog. Young lad was even going around with a jar of dog biscuits!

Went to burger night last night - Friendly service from the staff and burgers were really nice! I had “the naked chick” with added halloumi on a gluten free bun and husband had the “moose burger” - both very tasty! Have been here before and tried other items off the menu including the gluten free churros and Nutella brownie and both very good! Nice to be able to get a decent GF dessert!!

i have been a number of times.. one thing i always loved was the Korean chicken thighs.went back a few weeks back, and couldn't believe it.. they'd completely changed.half the size of the previous portion, and few bits of dry chicken, with a bland watery sauce on top.. ??What's hapenned..?!

Attended on the 5th of October with some family and friends for brunch. Love the atmosphere and decor of the dancing moose and the food is fab! Great selection for everyone and can’t be faulted. But.... the service was terrible, group of 5 or so woman working on shift far too busy chatting, took them forever to take our orders, cup of tea took over 10 mins to arrive and getting the bill was painful. Brunch took nearly 2.5 hours which is crazy.

The word “best” gets thrown around far too often, but I can say that this was the best full English breakfast I’ve ever had. The scrambled eggs were perfect, the sausages yummy and the toasted sourdough bread out of this world. We will definitely be returning. Staff are friendly and super attentive.

A warm welcome, I called in prior to see vegetarian options.... which there was a nice number of choice. we started with veggie bean nachos ....... which was delicious the best nachos i have ever had...... (shared) I then opted for the mac and cheese which I could only manage 1/2 as was very filling but I took the rest in a doggie bag! the others choose wings and wraps ..... all enjoyed! the only thing we didnt enjoy was the moose coleslaw..... we didnt enjoy an all felt it was over priced! great friendly service !! not rushed ! nice wine ... nice choice we passed by later in the evening and it was packed..... we will return

So me and my friend came to the dancing moose today and had a really nice big breakfast. months we have been going to Poole to get a decent breakfast but today we went to the moose. we was very satisfied the service was excellent and the food was also excellent very happy customer certainly will be going back on a weekly basis. The staff was very polite and welcoming.

We came here as a large group of 22 for a hen do and came for food and drinks! All food came out hot and delicious for everyone! Service was brilliant staff very friendly and attentive. Cocktails were very nice!!! All in all would highly recommend.

Had a great meal with family and friends in celebration of my cousins hen. The food was fantastic and so tasty. The food is different from your usual fayre. The service was outstanding and your staff are a credit to you.

I had the pleasure of visiting this pub, restaurant, bar for a hen doo. We were upstairs in a well appointed room all laid out beautifully and ready for us on arrival. Staff were helpful and welcoming. We were waited on with drinks and checked on regularly despite being upstairs. All our food arrived together, freshly prepared, no frozen rubbish. We were a party of about 20. Every one of us enjoyed the food it was delicious. Menu was varied and catered for all tastes and appetites. Cocktails were amazing too. Downstairs had a really nice atmosphere for food and drinks too. A great place for just drinks or food. I will certainly be returning with my family.

These guys are amazing! I have been on many occasions with different reasons and not one time has this place failed! The staff are always friendly not only that, they work well together and it shows! Food is sometimes slow, but coming from a pub background myself there is only certain amount of magic that can come from such a tiny kitchen. Food is always fab, so are the drinks! It’s brill! Thank you for the lovely mornings and chilled evenings! Great work :-)

We visited the dancing mouse in wimborne yesterday (7/7/2019) All I can honestly say is brilliant!! The service was brilliant The Sunday roast, brilliant The cocktails, brilliant Staff very friendly, they allow dogs into the bar areas and the cocktails are excellent All very sensibly priced Will be returning in the very near future Thanks guys

A hot Friday evening and the outside tables were full. Sat inside and It was airey and not too hot. The tacos were palatably spicy and the calamari was crispy coated. Thoroughly enjoyed. Will definitely make it regular stop

Came here on the off chance to catch up with a friend. Great to see the fire on on a wet June day. Superfood wrap was delicious; friend enjoyed the haloumi wrap. Nice G &T.

We have been in the evening and enjoyed it but we visited for breakfast and didn't have a good experience.The menu looks good but the chef needs to learn how to poach an egg... if you are charging close to £10 for breakfast you expect a nice runny poached egg, four meals we ordered had eggs and all of the 8 poached eggs had yolks like squash balls! Not pleasant.The kids ordered pancakes and of the three meals, two had raw pancake batter in the middle and were inedible.... when we pointed this out to our server he looked like he couldn't care less!Very disappointing all around

We have visited the Dancing Moose regularly over the last few weeks. The bar staff are very pleasant and communitive. Sunday lunch is excellent and well worth the price. Breakfast now that they open at 9 every day is even better, varied options, large portions, well cooked and presented. Worth trying the Californian eggs. Coffee is one of the best in Wimborne.

I visited with my boyfriend for a quick lunch and asked to see the gluten free menu as I'm Coeliac. The first member of staff had no idea about gluten free and said it was marked on the menu, which only vegan and vegetarian were marked. He then asked the manager who said he would bring over the allergen book and then promptly forgot. The previous member of staff noticed us waiting and brought the allergen book over but had no idea how to decipher it and had to ask the manager again. The manager seemed fairly clued up on cross contamination, which was music to my ears, and said he would ensure the fries were baked and not fried with the other gluten containing foods. When the food was brought out the waitress said it was the gluten free burger however there were 2 onion rings also on the plate which were not mentioned as being gluten free in the allergen book. I asked her if they were gluten free and her response was 'no they're not but we thought you'd like to share'. Admittedly the onion rings were put in a pot on the plate and not on top of the burger but they still should not have been served with a gluten free meal at all! My fries also appeared to have been fried and looked exactly the same as my boyfriend's who was eating from the 'regular' menu and I have spent the rest of the day feeling rotten after being glutened. Some more awareness of coeliac disease is probably needed as it is a lovely venue but not safe to eat for a coeliac.

A busy pub with great food, suitable for all age groups. Busy and younger on the weekend, but not in an intimidating way. Really lovely burgers, hihgly recommend them.

Upon arrival, I found that it looked a lot like Koh Thai, good start because I work there. We walked in to be greeted by lovely staff and some very adorable dogs which made my girlfriend and I very very happy. We sat down by the garden door after ordering a drink and gazed at some menu's. We were delighted to see so much choice on the menu, all of which was our kind of taste. We briefly caught the chef (Matt I believe his name was) make an excursion out of the kitchen and asked for recommendations to which he replied with a southern fried chicken burger and the Kansas dog. My hot dog was truly spectacular, I went for sweet potato fries to accompany and my girlfriend settled for normal fries. Her burger was also truly out of this world with the chicken being crispy yet tender. We asked for some extra chicken poppers and onion rings and again, like everything else, they did not disappoint. After we had conquered our gigantic yet manageable meals we finished a drink. I settled for a delicious amaretto sour which made me very happy upon tasting because I love making, and drinking them. On our way out I thanked the chef's, Matt and Jon for their food as it was truly excellent and the bartenders for their polite, funny and attentive service. We can't wait to return!!

What an awful disappointing experience. We had a table booked for 10 at 3pm on a Saturday, when we arrived our table was not ready, no apology and no explanation. We waited 15 minutes at the bar for a drink. We found a small table which we huddled round, after 45 minutes no one had come to see us and the manager had a face like thunder, was not approachable at all. Apparently they were short staffed!!....When we came the weekend before I asked for a G&T and the manager gave me my gin in a tumbler with no ice and no smile and couldn’t understand why I was dissatisfied and made me feel very uncomfortable when I did ask for a slice of lemon and some ice!! I thought he was just having a bad day but obviously not, he just must hate his job!!...they lost our business and all ten of us left, (we watched another group of 5 leave just before us) luckily a near by cheese and wine restaurant was very accommodating with a manager who had humour and excellent costumer service unlike the dancing moose!!! What a shame we use to love it here.

Love this place they make you feel welcome and the food is very good. The burgers are amazing, if not a little messy to eat!

Breakfast was slow to come out, although when it did turn up it was nice. We asked for butter for our toast, wich didn't materialize. Once breakfast was fianlly served, we requested a second round of drinks, which again did not show. As we got up to leave the waitress came over with our drinks and stated I'm guessing you do not want these now. We would not be writting this review even with the poor service so far, if it wasnt for the extremely rude response from the staff. When we commented that we did ask for the drinks 20miniutes ago, the lady behind the bars only response was "it was actually 10 miniutes, which was muttered under her breath before she slammed the receipt down. This place needs some serious customer service training!

I have visited the moose many times in wimborne, and Penne hill , and had great food freshly cooked, with a crisp cold BirraMoretti , chilli hot dog is awesome with generous portions . Friendly professional service from GM Mark , and barmaid Gemma recommend .

I didn’t even know this pub had changed hands until last week when I went for an after work meal with my colleagues. Gorgeous food, great decor & lovely warm atmosphere, loved the feature fireplace. Bit disappointed that they didn’t have all of the deserts on the menu but would recommend & will be going again.

He know Pubs, does my son, and this is this is the kind of one that he settles into, very happily! He enjoyed the beer ,and got on with his cryptic crossword, while I enjoyed a coffee!

We went there to celebrate my sons birthday, both he and I decided to have the Calamari to start, when the dish arrived it consisted of 2 Calamari rings which had been cut into quarters to make it appear more on a small bed of greenery at nearly £7.00 a portion its rather steep

Possibly the slowest service experienced from ordering, drinks to food. Really nice apologetic staff who knocked a few drinks off the bill but not great.

Pleasant atmosphere...can get busy...always very good sign. Staff are good and food excellent. Also an outside seating area. Frequent often when visiting family locally.

Visited here on a Sunday early lunchtime. Wasn’t full but looked to be understaffed to cope with the numbers.It took a long time for the table to be cleared from its previous occupants. The coffees didn’t come on saucers and the teapot had no lid (apparently there was also a shortage of teapots).We each ordered a roast which was actually very good, beef cooked perfectly and stacks of beautiful cauliflower cheese. We did have to wait a very long time for the lunches.Mum asked for a glass of water which never materialised.The staff were very nice and friendly, the service was let down by the speed of everything. They did knock of the cost of the drinks we had which was a very nice touch.I will be back for the roast but hope the kitchen can get the food out more quickly.

I liked the interior of this cosy little bar restaurant right in the centre of Wimborne. I just thought the food wasn't particularly great. I had a burger, which came with one of those little tiny pails of chips. Which was OK, but not great - and would have been greatly enhanced by some salad. My husband had a meal that was billed as ribs and flatiron steak. Again, it came with the same chips, but had a bit of shredded red cabbage which was supposed to be a homemade coleslaw. (Coleslaw isn't very difficult to prepare so the fact that the chef had given up half way preparing this one was slightly baffling). The ribs weren't particularly nice, the "medium" flatiron steak was raw in the middle and stone cold. Other things on the menu may well be a lot nicer than this, but I wouldn't bet on it.

The decor is warm and inviting with smart modern interior and an open fire. We were there on a Sunday lunchtime. Food was perhaps a little on the pricey side. But what we did have was good. It is a shame that they don't have some smaller sized choices on the menu. While we were there another couple commented on the same thing.
