First visit. As special occasion had requested and was recommended to have table upstairs..sadly we were denied this even though when i went to the loo upstairs lots of tables free. Service was good and waiter who forgot water was very apologetic. Venue atmosphere singer all great. We had the sharing roast all lovely very tasty..fab yorkshire pudding and roasties. Beef bit over could have been bit rarer. GET STUFFING ..crackling AND APPLE SAUCE for a 5 star.

The place & atmosphere were fantastic. The food however, is a total let down, which is a shame. Starter scallop quality no good, braised beef so tough, taste wise on other food below expectation.

Popped in to Cut and Craft for drinks during a visit to Leeds. Very welcoming staff and very attentive too. Managed to get seats at the bar and struck up a conversation with David, their head bartender & mixology specialist. Although the cocktail menu was very good, both my wife and I asked if he would go 'off piste and make us cocktails of our choosing. Once he confirmed he had the necessary ingredients, he duly obliged. I always think it's a good sign of a quality mixologist when they obviously know their stuff and don't ask, "What's that?" or "What goes in it?". He even recommended his own individual 'take' on these cocktails, which, again, for me, is a very good sign. The cocktails were prepared with care and skill and tasted delicious. Reasonabley priced too! lt's not our first visit to Cut and Craft and definitely won't be the last! Thanks David! Top man! 😋👌🍸🍹🥃 p.s. Haven't given ratings for food as we only had drinks, but what we saw did look nice!

The building is a big selling point. Very well finished and very comfortable. Gave 5 stars for food but there was some room for improvement. Steak was excellent though. Very attentive service. Would recommend and return.

My friend and I popped in for a pre-dinner glass of fizz and sat at the bar. And, as my friend had a broken foot, they insisted on making her a comfortable as possible. I paid for the drinks with a flick of my watch and didn’t look at the price. Totally my fault!🙈 I later saw that I’d been charged £48, instead of £18. When I rang, Lana was so helpful and liaised with the bar manager - who actually remember us - and he agreed to refund the overpayment. I’m honestly over the moon as I had no proof. Cannot thank them enough😍 Will definitely return and recommend to anyone who’ll listen🤣

Came here for a second time for a friend's birthday and it's still as pretty. It's spacious and well decorated. The main dishes are usually quite good but had the macaroni cheese as a side which was not good. That day we had the craft burger which was delicious and they honestly do fries really well. Our waitress, Carissa, was super friendly and very helpful. It's on the pricier side but it's nice for special occasions.

This resturant is top notch from the moment you have the door opened upon entry, staff kindly take your coat and show you to your table. The decor is unique reminds me of a repurposed old library with a modern update yet has a 40s kind of vibe to it, it's large dome rotunda above the middle of the circular bar is spectacular. It's a very cosy atmosphere with small to larger booth and chair seating ,dim lighting and it's one D.J on a Friday night. The menu is very good not too large of a selection to get confused with, a great culinary selection makes the menu easy to pick any of the fantastic dishes and sides to accompany your main , starters and desserts are very good too.

Love the building, the history, the atmosphere and the sevice. Another really enjoyable visit.

1st time visiting here and what can I say?.... Venue is stunning. Funky, fresh. Modern but with a classic twist. You don't forget your in an old building with heritage. Busy, but not chaotic, it made for good atmosphere on a Saturday night, especially enjoyed the live dj playing the tunes. We had x3 cocktails and all were served professionally and tasted amazing. Also very good value for money. The cut and craft beer is also worth a try if you want a beer. Scallops to start were fantastic. My only critism here is that a little bit of toasted ciabatta to mop up the sauce would be great! Partner had the Bon Bons and there were out of this world. Both starters amazing in their own unique way. We went for the signature flat iron. Steaks were cooked to perfection and so so tender and juicy. We got various sides and all were of very good quality and dect portion sizes. Mac cheese was very very good! Found the chimmicurri sauce a bit too acidic for my liking, however I opted for the peppercorn and this was banging, however due to the steak been so tender and tasty, I didn't need / or want to use the sauce! All in all, a fabulous place to visit. Overall bil was a bit pricey but defiantly worth it as a treat evey now and then. Cut and craft leeds.... DO NOT CHANGE

We had a nice meal planned for three couples for a friend's birthday. We had a great day but it was somewhat marred by a pretty poor experience here. Drinks. The designated driver ordered an alcohol free G&T. After 25 minutes it hadn't arrived. We chased it up and 5 minutes later someone came back and said they didn't have any. The person has a Tonic Water. Another member of staff came up and said the G&T would be five minutes. She waited. It didn't arrive, so she had the tonic. When the bill came we were charged for 1 gin and 2 tonics. I ordered an IPA. Had to chase it up after 15 minutes, was told they were changing the barrel. 15 minutes later, and with the meal started and me sipping water, they came back and said they couldn't get the pump working. I ordered an alternative, and started drinking 45 minutes after arrival. I ordered a medium rare gridiron steak, my wife ordered a medium. Mine came medium, hers came well done. As we could see service was already very slow we didn't want to reorder, so we accepted what we'd been served. The food was decent apart from the overdone steaks, but that was the centrepiece of the meal, so marks off for that. We had to ask three times for the bill after the meal. It came around 20 minutes after we initially asked. They'd knocked off the price of 1 steak and the IPA substitute in fairness and after we'd had the non-appearing G&T removed from the bill we paid inclusive of tip, because the table server was lovely throughout, and the food we'd been charged for was good. If this place is trying to compete with the likes of Gaucho, though, the service and attention to detail needs to vastly improve. Pianist / singer was excellent.

Wow! What a stunning interior, the place is beautiful and there's a great atmosphere in the restaurant. I'd heard a great deal about the restaurant before making our 1st trip. We walked in off the street around 6pm with no booking. Escorted upstairs to an empty floor, we were a bit dubois that we may have a bit of a quiet one?! It was Wednesday evening after all, but no.....within 60 mins the place was heaving. Our service was excellent, very attentive and professional. I did expect a slightly larger menu choice but this is certainly not a negative against that. However, I'm convinced I fell on a bad day. My rib eye was pretty bad, extremely sinuey and very very chewy, definitely a poor cut. The rest of the meal was great and we would go again but I'd expect the chef to inspect the quality of steaks before cooking. I probably only ended up eating half of my rib eye due to it being non edible. Don't let this put anyone off, I'm sure it's a 1 off as the restaurant does have an avid following!

my husband enjoyed most of his 2 course lunch, but did find the steak difficult to chew. Prawn cocktail had far too much paprika and old lettuce, I couldn't eat. The gnocchi chicken bake had a lovely sauce and tasty chicken but the gnocchi was overcooked, never had garlic bread that was so doughy and lacking butter, even the serrated edge knife couldn't cut through it. Really disappointing outing for us, seems it is a style over substance venue or we were just unlucky. The staff were very friendly and welcoming.

Over cooked steak! Asked for med rare came well-done!! Table next to us had issues with steak too. Rushed throughout our meal. Took drinks order on arrival, drinks only appeared once starters were eaten, and even then, my husband's cola was missing and we had to ask for it!! Staff although pleasant seemed like they'd rather be elsewhere. We left very disappointed, especially as this was an anniversary dinner, and we have previous received beautiful food and exceptional service.

Our evening was overall fairly disappointing considering the price point. Having been to restaurants on a similar tier such as The Ivy, I expected a certain level of service, quality and atmosphere. When we arrived, we were already a few minutes late for our table, but were informed it wasn’t ready yet and was being ‘wiped’ - we were directed to the bar area where no one came over to us to offer us a drink while we waited. We were then walked to a table only a few feet away from the bar which had been ready the whole time so we weren’t sure why we had to wait at all. The table was upstairs in the bar, not in the main restaurant. The atmosphere was entirely different - not the chic low lighting experience you get downstairs. This table was also NOT a restaurant table. It was a bar table, very small and round - we asked the waiter if we would be able to fit the Sunday roast sharer on it and he said yes, and that we couldn’t move tables as the main restaurant downstairs was full. A lady came over to take our drinks order, we ordered a bottle of Rose wine. We waited around 15 minutes for this, to then be informed that there wasn’t any of that wine left so we ordered a different one. We ordered our food, the beef came out overdone the first time so had to go back to the kitchen. The sharing board was too big for the table in the end so eating our food wasn’t comfortable or easy. However, when our food did come out it was absolutely delicious - just such a shame it wasn’t right the first time. As the dinner was a celebration for my boyfriend’s new job, we wanted to go somewhere that felt special - hence why we chose The Cut and Craft. Our dinner last night didn’t feel special, we were treated really like an inconvenience the whole evening. The lady that dealt with our complaint at the end was lovely and offered us free drinks and a dessert, but overall for the price point of paying over £100 for a Sunday dinner for 2 people is FAR too expensive to mess up such simple things. They overbooked the restaurant meaning we were squeezed onto a teeny table. People sat near us were complaining about the same things too. Such a shame as I’ve heard such brilliant reviews but we were unfortunately let down throughout our evening.

Your Champagne bottomless brunch was an absolute delight and far better than we expected it to be. The entertainment from the gorgeous ladies and music from the wonderful sax player and DJ was perfect. The only flaw was upon arrival, 10 minutes early for our booking we had to wait around bar due to tables not being ready and then filtering people rather slowly to their tables. Positives, the rib eye steak was delicious, melt in the mouth goodness. But so it should be at a steak restaurant. The building is fantastic, I was honestly gob smacked by how good it looked. The interior designer who did it needs a pat on the back, and a cut of the profits of "cut and craft reed diffusers" sold at the front desk, I kid you not. While my steak and chips were good, other starters left something to be desired, my first round of tenderstem brocoli was cold, my second attempt not tender, I didn't attempt a round 3. Service was slow, everyone seemed to have given up on Sunday night. Drinks ordered turned up 20 minutes later and made wrong, I'm fairly sure my desert was wrong, but it would have melted by the time anyone came to check. Lovely expensive steak, in a lovely expensive building, that you'll definitely have time to admire

Went to this restaurant for a dinner with my friend and we were very excited to visit as I was recommended this place by a few people. Beautiful interior and a lovely atmosphere for sure! Overall the food was high quality and peppercorn sauce was delicious, however the steaks were just not cooked correctly. We ordered two medium-rare fillet steaks and one of those was medium or perhaps even medium-well done. The second one also wasn’t medium-rare but not as cooked as the other one. The staff were very accommodating and offered to change it and even got us some complimentary drinks while we waited, which was very nice of them. Although we enjoyed the quality of the new steaks, but even the second time it was far from medium-rare, I would say it wasn’t even rare, it was closer to blue. Please see for yourself (pictures attached) and let me know if you don’t think I’m right, but to me that was mooing a few seconds ago🙈 We decided not to send it back again as at this point we actually wanted to enjoy the dinner, and it was a good quality steak overall, but I would expect a steak restaurant to get these details right from the first time.

We had our booking for 5 people for 7:30pm - on arrival everything looked great. We ordered a round of drinks and our food. Our drinks and starters arrived and after that it went downhill. A waitress cleared our starters and asked us if we wanted the dessert menu which we thought was odd and pointed out these were our starters. All of our drinks were empty at this point and nobody came to take a drinks order. Our server then came around 20 / 25 minutes later and gave us a dessert menu and we told him we hadn’t had our mains yet and he said that he’d been told to give us dessert menu’s. At this point all of our drinks were empty, no attempt made to ask if we wanted any drinks. After more waiting, we asked again where our food was. Our main course arrived at 9pm - 90 minutes into our sitting on a quiet Monday evening. Nobody cleared our glasses and still nobody took a drinks order. Then desserts… we had already ordered them earlier on but came to take our order again - 2 of the party had to leave because of how long we were waiting. The food was really lovely but the service was really poor - only 1 drinks order taken when we were there until 10pm because of the delay & only £8 taken off of quite a large bill. Really disappointing visit.

We pre booked a table for our anniversary and before arriving the staff were friendly and helpful over the phone. When we arrived the staff that greeted us were really happy and welcoming (the welcoming area smelt divine!) The main room is absolutely gorgeous, a lovely warm and welcoming environment. The waiting staff were friendly and we were even gifted with an anniversary card, which was a really thoughtful touch (Thank you.) The meal was out of this world, the steak was insanely good, I'd go back for that and the cheesecake alone. We even got a little lemon sorbet with a candle which again was really nice. Would definitely recommend (I've only been home a short while and have recommended already.) Thank you x

Had an amazing visit. The food was lovely and the interior of the restaurant was beautiful. We were very happy with our experience and will definitely return. All the staff were fantastic, but Rebecca was outstanding. She was friendly and went above and beyond for us. Highly recommend.

This was our first visit to the C&C, and our dining experience was top-notch ! Warm welcome on arrival , quick drink at the bar whilst we awaited our table to be readied. Our waitress was engaging & helpful throughout our dinner. As there were 6 of us, I won't detail our food selections but suffice to say that the starters, mains & shared deserts were absolutely deeeeeeeeelicious, great presentation, cooked to perfection and decent sized portions. Really, it was that good. Full credit to the chef's and all staff for delivering a super dining experience. Will certainly dine here again, and so should you.

First time dining here and it's a lovely setting, with service to match. The food, for the most part was very good. Tasty, well cooked steaks (we had flat irons and fillets) and an excellent burger. A good array of sides and sauces too. The Mac and cheese was a big let down. Insipid and thin/watery sauce. At odds with everything else we ate. Food temperature was also a little on the cool side - we put that down to the large amount of sides we had and how long it took to arrange them on the table, and being sat under the a/c, but not helped by the serving dishes/plates not being overly hot either. Maybe I could have said something, but we just wanted to eat and not cause a fuss. For the money, I wouldn't rush back

My wife and I came up from London to see my daughter, who is studying (so she tells us)at Leeds Uni. As it is her last few days in this great city, we decided to treat her to something special. The Cut and Craft is certainly that. A wonderful, beautiful Victorian setting for this high end (price-wise) restaurant. The welcome we got on entering and the service throughout the meal (Sunday dinner) was first class; the right combination of professional efficiency and warm friendliness. Special mention to the handsome ballet dancer/model (didn't get his name, unfortunately) welcoming us at the door and showing us to our table, and Kyle, who is usually at the bar, but was put on tables for the evening; a wise decision from the manager because he was fantastic. But what about the food? Generally very good, which it should be for the price charged (I'm not complaining). But: I did think the king prawns and calamari for starters were probably from frozen stock rather than fresh straight from the fish market; nothing wrong with them but lacking in that fresh-from-the sea taste, which one would expect in an upmarket restaurant. My sirloin steak was really nice and a proper portion size, but I asked for medium and it came well-done. A steak restaurant should get these details right; rare, medium-rare, medium, well-done; they're not the same. Sticky toffee pudding was probably the best I've ever had...and I've probably had more than a few. The music vibe was pitched just right; it made me feel like I was on holiday. Most importantly, my 22-year-old daughter loved Cut and Craft and we did too.

It is undoubtedly one of the best steak restaurants in the country. The steaks were juicy and bursting with flavour and perfectly cooked (to my liking) the side dishes are exceptional highlights including the truffle fries and mac & cheese. The service was slick and the place was immaculate! They also give us a card & complementary dessert for our anniversary which was a lovely touch. I am only sad there is not one in London, HURRY UP! Cannot wait to come back :)

We pre-booked a table at Cut and Craft in Leeds to celebrate my partner's birthday, right before he moves away for a long stint with work. We felt that this was a special place for such an occasion, and we weren’t wrong. Arriving early, we were seated in the entrance with a drink while we waited. The selection of red wines was beautiful, setting the tone for the evening. Unfortunately, we weren't overly happy with the original table we were given, especially since it was such an important date for us. We politely asked if we could be reseated, and within moments, three staff members quickly came to a solution and updated us promptly, even though the restaurant was very busy. We were delighted to be reseated in a booth, which made all the difference to our dining experience. Would recommend requesting this when booking. The restaurant oozes class and style, with amazing interior features. Most importantly, the food was unforgettably delicious. We started with the scallops and croquettes, both of which had bold flavors. The scallops were some of the best we’ve ever eaten, cooked to perfection. This was followed by the sirloin steak with mash for me, and my partner had the T-bone with truffle mash and truffle fries. We couldn’t fault anything about the meal. It was flawless, packed with flavor, with tender meat and perfect portions. We chose another red wine for our meal, a Chilean Merlot, which complemented the food wonderfully. Although we couldn’t squeeze in a pudding, the restaurant had kindly remembered my request to bring a small sorbet with a candle to celebrate. The overall evening was superb. The food and drinks were delicious, and the staff were attentive and kind. We can’t wait to return soon.

Why go to ALL that effort to prepare open fire grilled steak when you're going to dish out catering (Brakes) pre-prepared steak sauce; Bearnaise/Peppercorn etc.. What an awful way to ruin a nicely cooked, £85 Chateaubriand. I'd be embarrassed. Overall, a decent meal. Edit** I'm willing to bet my life that it's not made in-house. I'll just ask one of your chefs when he knocks off for the night.
