Outstanding food before the theater.

We had a £25 house bottle of wine for our trip into the theatre. It is a V friendly place with a nice vibe to it.

Visiting from Canada and staying in the area. The Cut has Fantastic food and service! Our server Phoenix was very pleasant and helped us choose some great dishes. Will be back !

We weren’t sure about eating here before seeing the new show «  A face in the crowd » especially as there were no recent reviews . However it was a lovely buzzy vibe and the food was tasty and generous portions - we had arancini balls , burrata , hummus and some chips - weird combo but tasty - oh and some sticky toffee pudding - all very good . The show however was terrible and we left in the interval !

Después de la hermosa interpretación de “A Face in the Crowd” decidí cenar allí. Dejé el programa a las 5: 07 pm y todas las mesas del restaurante estaban vacías, pero la voluntad se reservó las señales. Me senté afuera pero como había estado lloviendo decidía que era más sensato cenar en el interior, explicándome que sería rápido. Inicialmente me ofrecieron un asiento en el bar que decliné ya que no tenía respaldo y en general era muy ruidoso y desagradable. Me senté en una mesa vacía rara solo para que un camarero indio masculino me dijera “tendrás que moverte, le estoy poniendo un letrero reservado”. Pregunté la hora de la Reserva y dijo 5 : 45 pm eran aproximadamente las 5: 22 pm así que pregunté si podía sentarme allí hasta que la reserva llegó. Me dijo que necesitaba irse y comprobarlo. Me pidieron que me moviera a las 5: 30 pm. Cuando le pregunté si podía cenar me dijo “sí si se puede comer e ir a las 5 : 45 pm”. ¿Qué esperaba en 23 minutos que el pedido fuera procesado y consumido? Qué estúpida sugerencia. Debidamente me moví al bar y no puedo expresar en palabras lo impactado que estaba por el gerente del restaurante. Una vez que se dio cuenta de mis conexiones en la industria teatral me ofreció una mesa cancelada que decliné porque lamentablemente el daño ya estaba hecho. Era increíblemente grosero, condescendiente y defensivo.

Was surprised at quality and flavour of food. Server at our table Anna was excellent, attentive, timely, good advice regarding food plate sizes which was a bonus to our meal. Thank you. Would go back. We were at a play at the Old Vic that night. Can get noisy but we were at the window and it was perfect.

Friendly staff, clean and pleasant venue

Excellent! Right inside Young Vic's theatre building – worked well for a quick fulfilling lunch and dinner before a performance: bavette steak was superb, so was risotto. Quick and friendly service, prices don't bite either. Outdoor seating on the 1st floor terrace is highly recommended!

Eaten a few times here now pre show at the Young and Old Vic. I would highly recommend, food every time has been excellent with speedy and friendly service.

Do not order the patatas bravas. They were not the patatas bravas that one would usually get. These ones were boiled potatoes smothered in some sort of chilli sauce - definitely not brava sauce - absolutely horrible!!! My friend and I regretted ordering them and we could not finish them. Patatas bravas are meant to be crispy potato cubes not regular boiled potatoes. Google the recipe, please! I wish I took a photo. The apple, elderflower and lime soda mocktail was too sweet, like drinking sugar water with an apple slice. I could not drink it and luckily it was deducted from the bill. I would not eat/drink here again.

Relaxed afternoon. We attended the excellent 'Mantelpeace' exhibition and then relaxed with snacks on the balcony.

We only had drinks. Pricey. Very helpful staff. A busy bar.

Lovely venue, mainly used when we go to young vic. Love the free water. Would love a better range of non alcohol beer. Days & Adnams are ok, but we live in the best City in the world and have so much local variety and international 00 beer/ Lager. That a bit of imagination on a product that has a long shelf life and high margin, you would be amazed by customers response

I recently dined at The Cut Bar in London and was incredibly disappointed with the service. While the food may have been good, the overall experience was severely marred by a rude waitress. During our meal, the waitress approached our table and bluntly said, "Oh, you're still eating?" This unprofessional and frankly dismissive comment left us feeling unwelcome and rushed. It was particularly disappointing considering we had only been seated for 10 minutes and hadn't even finished our meals. To make matters worse, a service charge was automatically added to the bill. This felt like an insult considering the poor quality of service we received. In London, a vibrant city known for its hospitality industry, I expect a much higher standard of service. Unfortunately, this experience means I cannot recommend The Cut Bar to others.

The service was extremely bad, I had to contact them myself both of the times. Drinks (ish 20% liquer) were 13£, they barely had any strong drinks. Drinks were OK.

We had a meal before Nachtland. (Excellent play!) I am in a wheelchair and the staff were super helpful. We had the mezze board plus some ham croquettes to start between 3 of us. Everything was fresh, light and tasty but we could have done with a little more bread. I then had the bavette steak which was a bit chewy, but very tasty. Excellent chips, and pepper sauce. Lovely cocktails, too! Very busy. You need to book at peak times

Best place to grab a quick bite if you’re seeing a play at the Young Vic. Food was excellent…every dish was delicious. Charming service, buzzing busy ambience and a zero minute walk to the theatre after you’re finished. Perfect.

We enjoyed our visit for lunch before a matinee at the Old Vic. I write to thank the kind efforts of the owner Nicolai in going above and beyond in helping return my expensive reading glasses to Liverpool, by courier. This sympathetic and practical kind approach is very much appreciated and we shall return soon

One of my favourite spots in Waterloo... this bar is made by their staff. One staff member in particular... Sahelle. Excellent service, her cocktail knowledge is vast and the quality of drinks is impressive. She never fails to welcome us and our friends and make us all feel special. The Cut would be lost without her! Thanks Sahelle x

Sharing plates, single tapas style dishes or 'main courses', a good selection of tasty dishes well prepared and presented in what is a restuarant in a theatre, but not just for theatre patrons.

We dined with friends for a pre theatre dinner. Service was impeccable and the food was delicious. We had the chicken Milanese and our friends had the tortellini. So refreshing after our very disappointing meal earlier in the week!

It's the Young Vic bar and restaurant so atmosphere great! Service a bit slow but good food and staff

Beautiful bar! Both the prices and the atmosphere. The bar is inside the theater, so in the evening during the intermission you won't be able to push through, but this only adds to the charm of this place.

A lovely bar where you can feel like you are treading the boards alongside theatrelands greatest and most cutting edge A very trendy bar, full of young PR professionals They do tapas with bread and a fine range of beers, cocktails, wine, spirits and champagne Anything a young aspiring actor or PR rep can think of! BTW the outside space in the summer months - first floor over street terrace, yes please, bring back the summer!

Had the best night here with my husband. We were seated about 15 minutes before our booked slot, however our table was ready for us which was great. Good was delicious. I had the chicken milanese and my husband had the beef burger. It was hot and came out swiftly before our show inside the young Vic theatre. Staff were friendly and the service was great considering it was a busy Friday night.

It's a nice bar, but steer clear of the extremely expensive food. Five pieces of pasta as a veggie main course - works out £3.40 each! Really not worth it, esp with so many great other places locally (who also have a much better veggie selection).

They have a weird marketing strategy, they would approach you on Instagram with a discount to bring you into the restaurant, and then completely ghost you pretending this never happened. Don't know who is running your social media but that person need some training lol

Great quality and fair price Emma is the best waitress in the place. She did exactly everything a customer needs. I really recommend.

Delicious food & fabulous cocktails. Had the Tuna & Burrata, both delicious. For main course we had the Bavette & Mushroom risotto with fresh black truffle! Again, both were delicious!

Gorgeous place for after work drinks, we sat on the terrace outside. Staff were attentive and drinks were served quickly. We didn't eat but the food being served around us looked delicious.

Wasn't intending to eat here post show but they were so friendly and it's so comfortable and relaxed. Really glad I did, excellent sharing board and great drinks. Wheelchair accessible even upstairs. 👍🏼

Theatre attached to the bar type restaurant. Nice place for a relaxed lunch or dinner.

Second time in three months. This little gem is a lively place with surprisingly good food from a fairly limited menu (makes sense to do fewer things, well) and a good cocktail and drinks selection. Went before a play the first time, and the second time because we were staying in the area and knew the food would be good. Booking recommended.

Great vibe, great food and walking distance from Waterloo Station. You need to arrive early or book in advance to get a table at this popular Bar and Restaurant, especially if you want to have a leisurely supper before a performance at the Young Vic. An excellent selection of small plates and prompt, polite table service.

Der Burger war extrem gut, und die Bedienung war im Allgemeinen schnell und freundlich. Sehr entspannte und moderne Atmosphäre. Man muss aber sagen, dass es sehr laut drinnen war, da eine direkte Verbindung zum Theater Young Vic besteht, und die Schlange direkt bis in den Raum führt, wo man isst. Das war aber kein Problem und war nach 10 Minuten auch zu Ende.

Absolutely amazing. From the space upstairs, to the chilled atmosphere, I loved it here. We had the New York IPA beer, gin tonic, burrata and the sharing veggie board which was flavorful and generous. Can’t wait to come back the next time I’m visiting to the Young or Old Vic

A nice little pub relatively close to Waterloo Station. There is plenty of seating indoors and outdoors that can accommodate large groups. On a Saturday afternoon we turned up with a group of ten people and there was plenty of room for all of us. The drinks are reasonably priced and announcements were made prior to a show starting in the theatre next door which would have been convenient if we were awaiting a show.

Refuse to sell tea during the intermission and then again after the play, the coffee machine was on.

I went to the Cut Bar & Restaurant with a work colleague and when we left the barman ran after us and accused us of not paying for the last round of drinks (a single pint of beer). He then refused to believe us when we said we had paid and only let us leave after another member of staff checked the till which showed we had paid. There was no apology and after spending more than £50 it was quite upsetting and ruined the evening.

Went to try few small dishes from the starters menu. Very nice chicken skewers and ham croquettes. Staff very friendly, it’s the perfect place for pre-theatre drinks and dinner.

I come here for their tasty cocktails regularly, especially during sunny weather, sitting outside either on the pavement or balcony upstairs. Service is always nice and friendly and cocktails not overpriced and very lightweight. Because it's one of my favourite theatres I go often for plays and accompanying drinks. You can also meet there theatre people having a drink. Last time, for instance, I was sitting next table to Ivo van Hove.

Very disappointed by the service I received. The server took my drink order then disappeared for a while. Since I was near the window I could see her talking to another customer for about 10 minutes outside. Another group came in and she took their food order then proceeded again outside, ignoring me. Luckily, the nice fellow working with her brought the bill for my drink and apologized. Be certain your wait staff treats every patron with due respect.
