I'm reviewing their Royal Festival Hall franchise here. And specifically the 'Children's box/ Kids lunch bag' offering. Sorry, my conclusion is that it's just about okay, but I think they should really up their game - since the price is currently £5.50 (for a Kids Lunch Bag). Right, You choose a drink. On the day we were here, the only option was apple juice. Okay it's not coke, but why isn't there a sugar free / straight water alternative?? Next you choose a sandwich. Only two options - ham or cheese (both on white bread). Tsk. . . hello ?!? What about a little slice of (maybe vegetarian) pizza, or maybe bread sticks with houmous?? Then you choose 3 tubs out of a variety offered . There were four on our day - carrot sticks, cucumber slices, grapes , and also a sort of jelly (?). Okay, three (maybe four) good things. But since you get to choose 3, there's not actually much choice. Hey, could we have some more options? Cherry toms ? Olives? Orange segments? Mixed salad? Broccoli florets?? Nuts & Raisins? Dried fruit (mangos etc.) ?? On a positive note, at least there wasn't any sugary chocolatey stuff on offer. To conclude, although I think the current Company of Cooks 'Kids Lunch Box' is better than average, there is a lot of room for improvement.

Ibamos yendo con mi familia caminando e ingresamos para comprar. La verdad los sanwich normales y caros. La bebida estaba caliente. Por esa plata me sentaba poniendo un poco mas de dinero para que me atiendan y comer mejor

Enjoy having cappucinnos and cakes here when meeting business colleagues for catch ups as the food never disappoints and the drinks are hot and tasty.

I've stopped here twice this week. Once in the morning with my son for coffee - he had cake and I had a sandwich. There was a great atmosphere so when next out and about and seeking coffee I stopped with my husband and we sat on the outside terrace on a Saturday night. It was again a great atmosphere. The coffee however was luke warm and I felt the food was over priced. I did like the location a lot though and the people watching from the terrace.

Bar set up for beers, coffees etc plus cakes, small snacks in the queen elizabeth hall. Very spacious and serene. Lots of seating. Ideal place to stop and rest up when in London.

The sandwiches are truly amazing and tasted so good but are expensive. Which is quite normal for a place like that.

Great location. Thats about all one can say for it! Firstly, the counter service was dire. 4 staff very busy talking to each other, and not focusing on the growing queue. Secondly, my 'meat pot' was well flavoured, but was only luke warm. Thirdly, no where to sit at all! Many of tables occupied by people with no food nor drink using this as there office For such a great venue, this is a real disappointment, and reflects poorly on The Festival Hall itself

I was attending a concert at the RFH and needed an evening meal. This place is really for sandwiches and other fast food options although there are one or two hot options but little choice. I opted for meat hot pot, thinking that that was what it was going to be. It came in a polystyrene pot with a lid and turned out to be a chicken curry on a bed of rice. Not what I wanted. I had queried what it was going to be with the serving staff (for whom English was definitely a second language) and I don't think they even knew. This is quite unacceptable as a provided of food for people visiting this venue who may have worked all day and want a meal. It was pouring with rain olutside and I was not inclined to go seeking any alternative. To follow I had a very expensive sour cherry brownie at £3.50. Outrageous.

Just what we needed, so that all of us could meet and chew the cud over a glass of mulled wine. It is spacious and comfortable too.

We popped into the one at the South Bank in the foyer of the recently refurbished Purcell Room, for coffee and refreshments after visiting the Lee Bul exhibition at the Hayward Gallery. It is spacious and the spaces flow round, including, at the time of the visit, a centenary exhibition on Nelson Mandella. Service was friendly and quick and one of the staff spoke Spanish which was a boon for my friends visiting from Cuba, and made them feel very welcome.

A pleasant venue to wait whilst the family were enjoying a show at the Royal Festival Hall. Nothing out of the ordinary but the staff were very pleasant and I was able to read in peace. Keg only beer but a reasonable pint of Theakstons Best Bitter - at £5 per pint!

I use this cafe at least once every 6 or 8 weeks. For the first time in ages there was no queue. Coffee here is always good and so usually are the cakes. I was dithering over what to have and the server suggested the cinnamon bun which I had. The bun really was rock hard but I needed to get back for the next half of the performance and didn't have time to join the queue that had formed to take it back. I'll definitely use the cafe again but I will take a bite of whatever I buy before I take it away from the counter!

The SouthBankCentre has organized a great sounding party for New Years Eve and with a prime view of the fireworks It should be fantastic. Unfortunately, CompanyofCooks is handling the catering and things do not look too good on this front. In particular, the SBC strongly advise you to purchase in advance your wine for the meal. Unfortunately, you have to contact CoC to achieve this. Email is recommended - but they go not answer. SBC provided a telephone number - but that goes directly to voice mail. Later I did manage to speak to someone on this number but she couldn't take my order - but said her manager (who "was probably at a meeting") would phone me back. 24 hours later I am still waiting!

I visit the Royal Festival Hall at least once a month and usually buy something from the cafe. You pay London prices here - honey cake is £3.25, shortbread £2.25. Coffee and tea prices are on a par with mainstream coffee shops and the coffee is very good. The worst thing is having to queue to order hot drinks or to pay for anything you have selected from the self service shelves. The cleaning staff do not always clear the tables quickly so you may find yourself removing other people's rubbish. Also be aware that the cafe space has become a gathering point for mums with young children so it gets noisy etc..

We were lucky to find a place outside in the Autumn sun, later also a table at this very busy, but very nice place by the River Thames. Lots of seats and tables inside there as well. We had a view of the London Eye in the background.People and river boats comming and going all the time. And with a theatre close by, we had a parade of Three ghosts passig by.Only £4,45 for a pint of Kronenbourg, we pay 78 NOK for a pint in Norway.

This outfit does all the catering for the South Bank Centre in its various outlets. This Review concerns the Cafeteria which we use a lot. Sometimes it is very good but on this occasion it was barely average in quality and over-priced. The over-pricing goes for the Bars at the RFH too. Make sure you examine the List before purchasing.
