Manager wouldn't even give us a refund or the drinks we ordered. Waited 30 minutes for 2 rum and cokes, were told that they were "brought outside" but they never came to our table. We'd already been there for 2 hours having dinner etc. and witnessed the waiters given people the wrong orders outside, my food almost went to someone else. Got told he was "too busy" to deal with it. We asked what shall we do then and he's advise was to order more.... like i had faith they'd come too. Complete rude and the attitude was totally not needed. My boyfriend and I weren't getting angry until the end and didn't raise our voices, felt more adult and professional than the actual staff. Ridiculous!!!

Toilets surprisingly very poor. Usually in these pubs they are exceptional. Manger looks a right grump too. Big fan of Weatherspoons but this is a poor one sadly.

No matter where you go you can be sure Weatherspoons provide good quality food and drink at really good prices with good service in a spacious traditional pub environment. Top quality.

Come here a lot! Nice little addition to the high st, typical Wetherspoons, a wide variety of food and drinks. Pub can get very busy at times however service is still pretty fast and staff are really friendly and do a great job of running things. Garden is a big plus, clean and tidy, however get there early on a weekend during the summer as it can be absolutely packed.

Always great beers / largers at a Witherspoon house.

Like the food breakfasts a bit bland need condiments . But I visit regularly every Saturday morning after buying my fruit & veg at the market but it’s been week & weeks since one off the coffe machines not working so often ques which is a pain and no information from staff a real let down . Went in today saw que and left so lost my custom today and maybe in the future such a shame they have let them selves down here

Does everything a Weatherspoons should do and as a plus it's much nicer that other pubs in the same chain.

All but Wetherspoons Berkhamsted allow dogs into the premises and outside courtyards - so why on a day like today doesn't Wetherspoons?? Ridiculous and just a loss of trade when a large number of customers have dogs in town. Great shame and certainly a loss of my custom in future (with or without dog)

It's a good pub to hang out with friends, Price is the plus point for these kinds of pubs, half of the price compared to other pubs. Food is also good, staff and the atmosphere are very nice. It's worth the time and money you spend here.

Nice example of a Wetherspoons. Second time we've been there, both times the food was good & the staff pleasant. Parking is opposite only a 2-3 min walk away behind Tesco. (pay & display)

Amazing beer garden and the beer is always nicely kept. Food is what you expect from a Spoons.

It's a Weterspoons, adjacent to two other pubs on the high street. Pretty much what you'd expect. The salad I ordered as an extra was hilarious - see photo (fork for scale). The waiter agreed, but pointed out he wasn't responsible for cooking, just delivery.

Insane nut job on the door and managers as useless as a chocolate teapot. Wetherspoons but worse basically. How can a Wetherspoons go so downhill? Not long before the police shut it down.

Restaurant is quite busy and visiting after weekend the choice was somewhat less than we expected . Staff were polite and service was very good

Usual Wetherspoon fayre in a lovely old pub well restored. Good value and well presented. Excellent lunch venue. Hotel on same site upstairs. Lovely room at a fair price.

Home from home good honest food just the ticket between jobs..

Called in here last week as visiting Berkhamstead for the day, very nice and cosy spoons pub. Usual food menu and very good staff, selection of real ales excellent and all kept to a high standard. Would recommend a visit here.

Another spoons, does what it says on the tin

Went here for a mates birthday; I have to say- The bouncers were absolutely shocking, especially the female on the door. Talk about a power trip, I had barely made it through the door before she started being rude and throwing her weight around (Which there was a lot of). Sounds like a woman with a few insecurities if you ask me. Perhaps bullied in her younger years? All in all, she didn't do her job and completely ruined the atmosphere.

Added extra topping of banana to my ice cream......this is what I got!!! Ordering extra strawberries next time hopefully they will give me a pallet pmsl....can't make this up felt like I was at Faulty Towers!! Made my night laughed so much

must be the oldest Wetherspoons in the UK. But feels it!! Usually a good pint here and always very good value.

First time to this pub. Loved it. The old building. The friendly staff. Lovely atmosphere for a lunch time.

Friendly bar staff but aggressive, very rude and frankly racist bouncers who seem to create issues and escalate them; no wonder there are police cars outside the Crown so often with these troublemakers employed. Please remove them from Berkhansted and get back to the friendlier environment we all deserve in the Christmas season.

Loud and busy, but definitely the cheapest place to drink around here.

Walking from Cheddington to Watford (24 miles) so dropped in for a breakfeast (!) and couple of pints to keep me going (same as when I did Berko to Watford and Tring to Watford). A welcome, reasonably priced, fuel stop.

Food was fairly well priced but portions small and hurriedly put together. Dare I say you get what you pay for.

One of the nicest Spoons that I have visited, with well above average service. Bar staff always have a smile and nothing seems too much trouble for the waiting staff. As good as any pub on Berko High Street, but with the added bonus of Spoons prices.

Decent selection of beers, and locally produced ales, with reasonable food at very reasonable prices. Perhaps not the place to go if you're looking for 'upmarket standards' but still a vibrant buzz about the place most of the day. I used the app to order food & drink direct to my table, which worked really well. Packed on Friday and Saturday evenings, mostly with youngsters. 2023 ~ rapid service to table, using the Wetherspoon App on phone, and still good food and selection of beers. You know what to expect when dining/drinking at a Wetherspoon establishment, and it's generally cheaper than anywhere else, so result all round. 👍

I was in Berkhamsted to watch Redditch United, it is a lovely town, full of character and history. I highly recommend this pub, great atmosphere, friendly staff and very welcoming.

As Wetherspoons go, this is one of the good ones. Certainly cleaner than most I've been in (following a Saturday night). The food I chose was the veggie brunch and wasn't bad. The service was prompt and friendly, the coffee good and the sunshine in the garden was a bonus!

It's one of the better 'Poons. Staff friendly. Very cheap with great pizzas. Other food ok. The locals seem quite polite. Lots to like

It is a spoons there were three guest ales all on their last legs. I used a voucher and saved 50p a pint.

Horrible Experience: The bouncers displayed appalling behaviour by allowing approximately 10 people to cut in line ahead of us, and they even shouted at me to "shut my noise." for mentioning the matter. I have never felt so disgusted with a place in my entire life. This is undoubtedly the worst bouncer experience I have ever encountered, and it is unacceptable for them to speak to people in such a disrespectful manner. I have no intention of returning to this establishment to be spoken to like that. Vile is an understatement.

Excellent service and wonderful environment

A lovely spoons that really reminds me of one of the spoons in Doncaster. Anyway, the staff were lovely and friendly even though it was quite busy. The pub was quite full with a HUGE outdoor seating area along the side and out the back with plenty of flowers etc making the space that much nicer. And the Guinness was excellent.

Lovely old atmospheric pub, brought up to date by using the app, so no queues at the bar, speedy drinks service then freshly cooked food delivered to your table. Never tire of coming here for a treat.

Super duper luvly jubly

As a Wetherspoons fan I found this disappointing. Lovely looking pub inside but the Smashed Avocado muffin plus 2 poached eggs for breakfast came without the salad. I thought all Spoonies meals came with predefined recipes. When asked the waitress said she didn't know and was new as if that was a reason, and walked away. 5 minutes later we went to the bar to again ask about the normally lovely spice salad and a little later we were given a small side dish with something which was supposed to be poco di gallo. But as you can see from the photos it was 70% onion and unpleasant. When will we get back to the days when customers mattered and staff asked customers if they were enjoying their meals.

Best value in the area. Should be a Witherspoon's in every town, big or small. Bring one to Tring please

Limited cider but good food and service.

The food came quite quickly, place was not busy. The portion sizes very, very small. Even the sauces which came as part of the meal were half the size.

I admit I'm now a 'Spooner'. Other pubs have priced themselves out of my budget. And Wetherspoons food and drink prices are still reasonable despite recent price hikes.

Visited here on a Sunday and was quite busy. Found the atmosphere very nice the tables were cleared quickly. Used the app for ordering our food for 4 people. This was nice and straightforward with all options covered for us. Drinks came straight away and food 12 minutes later for all of us. It was all very hot and nice sized portions with a friendly service. We had steak, chicken in a basket, All day brunch and a mixed grill. And 2 small brownie desserts. All for under £60 for good food. Bargain. Would definitely use again.

Always busy probably due to the fact the booze is half the price you'd pay next door! Beer kept well. Staff attentive and pleasant. Decor OK. Nice and warm on a freezing cold day.

Some people review it a 2 or 3 because of bad experiences with bad employees and complain about the timing when it’s probably because they are busy anyway in my experience I have always had a good time and food tasted great so yh definitely recommend.

Very good fried breakfast.... I had Freedom breakfast which was ok with my wheat intolerance.... served up to 12 noon now.

The food was what you'd expect from a Wetherspoons. Not bad, not amazing. The staff were great and I enjoyed the bottomless coffee! The lamp above the table kept turning on and off though which was annoying but still, overall an enjoyable visit.

A good place to work on a weekday morning. Quiet, decently priced breakfast, reasonable number of tables with plug sockets nearby.

went there tonight with my wife, just had a couple of drink s across the road, then ended up here for some food first thing once entering the pub - what a lovely place, brings u back in history a bit, took a table, ordered some drinks and were quite suprised by the price - much cheaper than in our local pub plus the taste of the real ales here - amazing! after a couple of pints we've decided to order the food - thats where 4* comes up to - food arrived on time, was good (ordered a burger set for wife and gourmet steak for me - as far as it was tasty i couldn't miss the feeling i had better ones) in general : good value for money, drinks 100% lovely and the food is ok for the price U are paying

Each of us Had a Great time ordering and enjoying our meals. The app gave the staff some wrong information when ordering but I obtained a refund to cover the error. Great Place, third visit, so far this trip!

went last week with my friends everything was fine showed the bouncers my id and was served drinks all night until i decided to go in myself and get another drink where this women served me and asks for my id which i give to her she then takes it for 5 minutes comes back and says it’s fake. i get up the email from dvla to show her that it’s real and offer to show her my bank card she then says i need to leave and she doesn’t care and then says she’s not giving my id back which is my provisional which i need for my driving lessons and my test which is in a month, she then says if i bring my passport then she can serve me yet i’ve already got a form of id and i don’t want to risk bringing my passport out as they are expensive and i don’t want to loose it plus i shouldn’t have to because i have my id. luckily i got my id back in the end but very dissatisfied with the service and it was not dealt with professionally.

Food was a small portion. We're not fans of weatherspoon pubs and this sadly is as good as they get.

Waited for over 20 mintues for two breakfasts!! When it arrived it was STONE COLD!! Then had to wait for another 20 minutes for a replacement!! Even then it was just about edible(plate hot.. food warm)..AND the mushrooms were missing!! Worst wetherspoons pub ever!! avoid if possible best go to a local greasy spoon!!
