The Crown Hungry Horse in Mid Suffolk

Cheapest curry I’ve had in a long time. Granted u pay next to noting but cold rice that’s tastes plastic. No chicken in the tikka and nan bread wasn’t worth the pennies you’d pay for. Probably would return in a hurry

I visited claydon crown recently with my family, it had a lovely atmosphere to it, food was good and we had a lovely waitress called Sian. She was lovely. Very helpful when it came to the menu as we had some questions and very friendly. We had a really good experience!

I come here quite often with my family and always leave with a smile. All the staff are so lovely and welcoming. Food always delicious and have amazing deals on every day.

The outside of the pub looks a bit tired. But the team were welcoming. Served by Rose. She seemed knowledgeable and was able to answer our questions about the menu. My friend can't eat certain foods. Rose went to speak to the chef The bar area was busy with a friendly atmosphere

Regular at this venue and for a good reason. The food is always lovely, arrives on time and portions are good value for money. Sian served us today and has on many occasions, always does so with a smile and never seems put out at any request made. This service, as with all the staff, is what keeps us coming back. This is a great venue for the family to enjoy a great meal at a great price.

Waited forever after checking of any delays. husband had the mixed grill, sausage so bad even the dog didn't want it. Very fatty pie.

Visited the pub last night. You could tell it was a very busy night with a wait time for the food. We was informed of the wait and the staff were trying there best to do what they could to keep everyone updated. You could see they were under a lot of stress and pressure but they were still very polite, friendly and willing to do what they could to de-fuse the situation. I was overall very happy with how I was treated and felt incredibly sorry for the staff as you could see they were trying there hardest. Great pub and WELL DONE staff!

This place has certainly gone down hill very quickly … outside is dirty dog ends everywhere , sticky tables - disgusting. 50 min wait for food on curry night , hardly any staff. Never again - it’s over the road for us every time now !!

A good experience at The Crown in Claydon. Marie, who served us at the bar throughout the evening, was attentive and confidence as well as patient with us while as we used vouchers (took a while as we found out that there is limited signal here)! Our food was good, we were checked up on midway through. The only minor issue, was waiting for the bar however, it wasn’t a major issue.

Visited for a break in driving and a snack. Pub was welcoming but my main gripe were the onion rings which were soft, barely warm and doughy. They should have been hot and crispy. The lady said she’d refund the cost of the food however this never happened and we left disappointed with our experience. She should have processed the refund immediately or offered replacement food, none of which happened. Won’t be back again

3 of us went for breakfast at the Claydon crown today Tuesday morning 9th of April there was a crowd of people along with us standing out in the cold and drizzle the pub was shut no sign of any staff I saw 2 people out in the back yard Rhayader said the staff were asleep upstairs, we were not impressed wasting fuel and time all of the people left very 😑 annoying.

Went in for breakfast to find The Crown offered 2 for 1 breakfast ,great value ,served quickly and food hot and well cooked ,staff friendly . Great choice .

This is a really friendly and welcoming pub, good food and a great atmosphere. What more could you want at a pub? Oh yeah, friendly, helpful and approachable staff - got that in spades here as well!!!

Came here for a family lunch, as Greene King usually a great place to eat. Some great prices on food. Others said their meals were quite good (gush n chips, and pies), but the lasagna was very doughy, not a nice white sauce and almost no filling. Chicken wings were cooked, but not crispy so very slimy. Cheesy chips were great, was tidy and clean.

The staff at the crown are always welcoming and have the patience of saints , when they come across public that forget that they are human beings and think that it acceptable to treat staff with contempt, I witnessed this on this morning, a small error was made and the woman with an aggressive manner said I’m going to report ……what for love ? being polite and kind and being human , I take my hats off to your patience, meal was lovely, enjoyed my experience apart from unkind woman , keep up the good work, some of us appreciate it !

Went to the crown for dinner with friends. The lady who served us at the bar was very friendly, helpful and attentive ensuring that our requests for changes to the dishes ordered were correct. Food was served promptly with good sized portions at very reasonable prices. Food was well flavoured and served piping hot.

The food was good and the waitress ( Sharney ) was very smiley, friendly, and polite. She was very helpful in answering all my questions and making sure we were all happy with our meals. The Crown are very lucky to have such a lovely lady working for them. The only thing we were angry about was the fact that my Husband had previously booked table 28, but on the day they let the table to someone else. We were put on tables 24 & 25, which was terrible as table 25 is too close to some steps making it very hard to get onto and off the seat. The Owners should have had the decency to have contacted us to say the table was let to another group even though we booked the table first. VERY POOR SERVICE FROM THE OWNER. So anyone thinking of going there do not bother to reserve a table.

I visited the area with work on my own. I went to the crown for dinner when I entered Marie the barmaid was very friendly and helpful . My food was lovely I would recommend it nice atmosphere

The claydon crown is such a lovely traditional type of pub selling hearty grub. The staff were very polite and attentive. Shout out to the people in the kitchen that must work their socks off and never get credit! Their Halloumi starter is by far the best!! They always have offers on -even though the food is inexpensive anyway. If you’re looking for fine dining this isn’t what this pub is all about so don’t go and expect this then diss them for it as they don’t aim to be that type of restaurant. It is a child friendly, honest, pub that serves reasonably priced hearty grub for all the family. Thank you Claydon crown 👑
