While doing the tourist thing in London we stumbled across this pub via Trip Advisor and we thought the place had potential...it is definitely a full blown pub when you walk in and it seems impossible to believe that there is Thai Food being served. In fact, when walked into the pub there must have been 25 people in the place with just a pint in front of them...we were told that the kitchen did not open until 5 pm and we were about 20 min early...5 o’clock hit and the Thai orders started coming from upstairs to downstairs and the food was AMAZING!!!! The menu consisted of Thai, Laotian, and pub food. I will be going back again tomorrow before we leave. Do not miss this unique experience...Crown and the Cushion.

Popped in here after a play at the nearby waterloo Vaults theatre and was pleasantly surprised, very friendly staff, my favourite cider, Aspall on draught and excellent Thai food at a very reasonable price.Also watched the football as there enough screens to be able to watch from anywhere in the pub.Cross section of ages and nationalities with a good atmosphere.

Após visitar a London Eye, esta foi uma excelente opção para uma refeição boa e de preço acessível. Fica no piso superior do Pub com o mesmo nome e serve principalmente comida asiática, mas também tem pratos típicos ingleses.

This is the very first restaurant I went to on a recent business trip to London as it was close to my hotel. Who would have ever thought that very tasty Thai food would be in an old pub? 5 stars.

One of those times when looking up the reviews on here pointed me in the right direction. From the outside, this looks like a bit of a dive but there's actually a lot of care under the surface to keep this place quite comfortable. The food was a lot better than I'd expect and slightly cheaper than the London average.

Thai food & english pale ale. What else do you want! Good food, good drinks, good prices! Love it! The best place in this neighborhood by far.

It was the only place on the street that was showing the Campions League game. Pretty packed, basic pub. Decent prices.

An odd combo, and we were skeptical, but this place was great!!!! A “typical” pub feel with a small pub menu and a HUGE Thai menu. We all ordered Thai and each dish was really good. Es hört sich nach einer schrägen Mischung an ist aber fantastisch! Wir haben das thailändische Essen im Pub zu uns genommen (anstatt im Restaurant oben) und es hat ausgezeichnet geschmeckt! Es war auch schnell fertig.

El curry rojo tailandés es acuoso, el caldo es muy débil y no tiene cuerpo. Supongo que está cocinado con agua y no con nata. El salteado con acebo y albahaca no fue frito, no es broma. El arroz se servía en el lado como arroz al vapor. Todos los demás restaurantes tailandeses tienen el arroz salteado con el pollo y no se sirve como arroz al vapor. El personal era muy educado y el piso de arriba limpio, simplemente la comida es decepcionante.

Pessima esperienza . Peccato perché sono stato proprio io a proporre questo locale a seguito dei consigli delle recensioni, ma ho sbagliato a fidarmi. Si mangia anche bene, ma per poter fare ristorazione c'è bisogno delle persone giuste . Soprattutto se i clienti sono turisti, bisogna essere disponibili, e non come é capitato con noi che ci siamo sentiti a disagio.

Had a catch-up session with a fww old friends. The pub has great atmosphere and service. The pub wasn't too busy on a Friday night which was pleasant where usually most pubs are packed out. The Thai food was very authentic and tasty and very good value for money. I would highly recommend this place to others.

I wanted pad Thai but I wanted a beer in a British pub so I found this spot and got both! Little confused with the ordering but everything is ordered at the bar so just up to the bar and order drinks and food. The menu was huge but a good classic pad Thai and it was one of the best pad Thai’s that I’ve ever had! 10/10 recommendation.

Great place to stay. It's right in the heart of Windsor with 10 minute walk to the castle. Lovely friendly staff and nice comfortable rooms. The food is excellent with a lovely breakfast.

Walk through the crowded and noisy pub and climb the stairs to the first floor! Had to read a previous review to know that this little gem existed! Simple furniture and decoration but fantastic Lao cuisine and friendly service for a little budget. Would definitely recommend that place!

This is our second year in a row coming here. Found it by mistake last year and we ate there 3 times last year same this year. Wanted a local type no fancy fancy style pub, found it!! But the best is the food Thai food. So good. I ate the Pad Thai each time, hubby and dad had spicy fried rice Mum had Cumberland sausages. All delish.

After 3 weeks in italy, on our first night in London we were curious to try the typical Brit cuisine. We ordered meat pie and bangers and mash - both were delicious, fair priced, kids loved it, and beer was great!

A traditional English pub serving great Thai? Sounds farfetched but we were adventurous enough to try it - and boy did it pay off! The Paht Thai was perfect with a little crushed peanut on top and the dumplings were amazing. My husband had dish 38 (can't remember the name) and it was spicy, both in heat and flavour. Sooo gooood!

Upstairs above this pub. Decor is pretty basic, perhaps not the spot for a romantic dinner, but if you're after authentic, tasty Thai and Lao food (or traditional British if you prefer) it hits the spot. Sticky rice with Lao sausage, (plus a spicy nam prik and raw dipping veg) along with a Somtam salad plus a Singha beer. £20. Very enjoyable.

Upstairs in this hotel you can get fabulous Thai food. No frills decor but the food and friendly staff make up for it. Highly recommend trying this place if you are in the area.

Came here after dinner for a couple of drinks. It was very smoky and it took away from the atmosphere. The drinks were fine and we didn't try any food. But there are probably other places that are a little cleaner/clearer to grab a drink.

The restaurant upstairs in this pub is a hidden jewel. We enjoyed the sample appetizer platter and the pad thai was delicious. Good choice for Thai food. The pub downstairs was charming (as we passed through).

Este lugar fue un poco de una contradicción, inglés sirve comida tai. pud En primer lugar fuimos allí porque estaba a sólo 30 metros del hotel nos alojamos en, pero una experiencia fantástica. Sin duda contentos fuimos allí y sin duda recomendable. Maravilla.

Al principio estaba un poco escéptico ya que la camarera no sé el estilo de somtom en oferta, pero el pad ver ew fue impresionante! No es un gran fan de la satay, sabía más que a la parrilla, frito, pero el pad pato ver ew fue mucho más deliciosa! El té helado tailandés también era increíble - si viviera cerca me encantaría volver a menudo. Los precios eran decentes y porciones grandes. Un gran hallazgo!

Yo vengo a Londres un par de veces cada año, y cuando lo hago siempre trata de encontrar buena comida tailandesa. Hasta hoy no me ha decepcionado. La comida tailandesa se supone que tienen sabor, y mucha. Creo que el chef tailandés de Londres han olvidado. He pedido tailandés caliente y conseguir algo que es insípida, como tostadas de color blanco. Eso fue hasta que me encontré con es lugar.

We had just come off the Big Bus tour and river cruise and were looking for somewhere close to eat. Trip Advisor app suggested the Crown & Cushion less than 300 yards from the London Eye. We followed the navigation and after about a 5 minute walk we arrived at the location. Don't judge a book by it's cover (the outside needs a lick of paint) We went inside and found a table. There was plenty of room although there were a good number of people inside. We ordered some drinks and asked to see the menu. The food on offer was a really nice selection of pub classics, Thai, Vietnamese and Lao food. We both decided to try the Chicken Thai Pad Thai. Our food was brought out after a very short wait. The presentation and portion sizes were really good. The taste was authentic and absolutely delicious. Well flavored and spiced to perfection.

Wir waren vor fünf Jahren schon einmal hier und es hat uns so gut gefallen, dass wir bei unserem zweiten Besuch in London nochmal kommen mussten. Hier kommen hauptsächlich Einheimische hin, keine Touri-Falle! Bier ist billiger als in anderen Pubs, Fish'n'Chips lecker, es läuft Fußball, es kann schon mal Stimmung aufkommen. Der Service hinter der Bar ist super nett. Macht einfach Spaß.

Originally popped in for a pint. Some nice foody smells coming from upstairs. Chatted to the bar staff and managed to get a table in the restaurant upstairs. Really nice meal-full of spices and flavour. Interesting combo pub/Thai but it worked for me.

Sólo había 8 de nosotros y conversamos alrededor de una gran mesa rústica cómodamente en un pub irlandés. Buen servicio, precios razonables, no comimos pero arriba estaba lleno y comidas tailandés parecía preciosa comido en pub. Un tesoro de Westminster.

Just been in and had a fantastic meal with my daughter. Found the place on the off chance late afternoon. Told my daughter and we headed back. We were not disappointed. The food was not only excellent but great value for hearty portions. The staff and customers were fantastic, very welcoming, great atmosphere. Will be back at the earliest opportunity.

Fantastic real taste of Lao food right here in London! The Lao/Thai resto upstairs serves real delicious Lao food with no compromise on spices. They cook it the way my mom in Lao would cook it. It is the familia taste I grew up eating. If you love real Lao/Thai food, I highly recommend this place. We ordered Chicken Laap, Tum mak houng (Spicy green papaya salad) and Lao sausages served with Jew mak len (Lao spicy salsa). These food came with sticky rice. Writing this my mouth is watering again. If you like Thai food, their Pad Thai is also one of their signature dishes too.

Surprisingly good Thai food, in a traditional British pub. Our group of 4 had 4 different, and delicious dishes, along with our Guinness. We were just walking by, and decided to give it a try, and I am glad that we did...so much so, that I took the time to give it a good review!

De service was fantastisch! Zulke leuke mensen, maar ook de sfeer is wat je verwacht van Engelse pub. Ook waren er vooral locals en als je er twee keer kwam zag je ook echt wie er vaker kwamen en kende je eigenlijk de halve pub al. Het eten was heel goed voor wat je er voor betaalde, het was niet michelinster waardig maar zeker goed eten!

I've been to this pub on a number of occasions. It is great place to meet friends for a beer and some great Thai and Pub Grub. Beer is always of fine quality and the staff are very friendly and helpful I cannot praise them enough. In the past I've often stopped by to catch some of the big Rugby matches but yesterday it was Pre Christmas gathering. Just 4 of us. Thai food was very tasty and good sze portions. Even I am not left hungry. One of our group went for the Bangers and Mash as was also satisfied. Good food, quality Ale and Guinness and some of the friendliest staff your ever likely to come across.

Fußball, Fish & Chips & frisch gezapftes Guiness - was will man mehr? Hinzu kamen 2 Freizeitsänger, die den ganzen Pub unterhalten haben. Und das am Montagabend. Sehr origineller Pub mit vielen Locals. Gerne wieder!

We konden nog net een pad Thai kip bestellen. Grote portie en erg lekker voor 7,5 pound. Een halve pint kost 2 pond. Kroeg was gezellig druk en leuke muziek. Jammer dat we deze kroeg niet eerder ontdekten dan de laatste avond.

Downstairs is an old fashioned London boozer. We enjoyed a couple of drinks there. Bar staff were friendly.Upstairs there is a good Thai. It's not fancy but the quality of the food for the price is amazing.

I find most “corporate” pubs to be a bit sterile if efficient, and the food offerings rather bland. Some will find The Crown and Cushion a bit worse for the wear but the environment is delightfully old school and the Asian food not to be missed.

Service was good and the food was tasty. The fish and chips was not fresh. Suggestion to owner: Please, be more patient with tourists.

My husband and I stopped by for drinks and snacks because this pub was close to our hotel. After a good laugh at my Canadian attempt to pronounce Bermondsey, we got some great beers and ordered the mixed appetizer plate. The food was fantastic. Casual relaxed atmosphere.

My husband, daughter, son-in-law, baby grandson & I booked a table at the Crown & Cushion for my birthday lunch. Due to horrendous traffic we had to call & let them know we would be late. They were most understanding & reassured us that it was not a problem & we would be welcome whatever time we arrived. Our welcome was lovely and the food was delicious. I had queen scallops cooked with garlic & two types of cheese followed by a perfectly cooked & tender Barnsley lamb chop with new potatoes, green beans and a very tasty jus. The summer pudding was perfectly turned out, not too sweet & packed with juicy fruit. I hope it won't be long before we are back .

Found this pub while walking, a nice traditional English pub just how I like them..the pub has lots of nice old collectables scattered around the pub...the lady behind the bar was very pleasant and welcoming, the larger was good with a nice creamy head on top which is hard to find these days, will be back next time we are in London.

Whilst staying in St Thomas Hospital for a pain programme I came across this lovely little pub with my friend. The Staff are SUPERB. The Crown And Cushion is a very welcoming, Warm and friendly pub. The beer is lovely, especially The Guiness.The prices are excellent especially for being in central London. I highly recommend this pub. The Staff will welcome you whether you are a local or a visitor. Thank you to all the staff for making my dreaded stay in hospital a much more pleasant experience.

Don't be put off by the faded swinging pub sign and the grimy windows. This pub is brilliant!! We arrived there late on a Saturday night after going to a gig, and I was a bit dubious about entering. But the bar staff were super friendly, there weren't many people in there, but they weren't threatening at all, or staring at us as the 'outsiders'. We sat at a wooden table and had cider and wine, and two old-fashioned bags of crisps. The jukebox was blaring out floor fillers from the 1970s and 1980s and customers were singing along. Loads of pictures and ornaments like an Egyptian statue and an old typewriter, plenty to look at. Just fantastic. Very very highly recommended.

Siamo entrati per caso in questo posto singolare: al piano terra il tradizionale pub inglese, mediamente chiassoso quando affollato, al primo piano la felice sorpresa di un tranquillo ristorante thai, dove ci siamo seduti con i bimbi. Ancora più singolare il fatto che il menu sia unico. Si può mangiare un cheeseburger nella tranquillità del ristorante al primo piano o un piatto thai nel pub.Buona la cucina thai, nella media i cheeseburger dei bimbi. Prezzo ottimo, considerando anche la zona.

I have actually been here before with my dad!!! Was delicious, we had chicken satay and Japanese gyozas to start, generous and amazing. I had a soup, which had too much coriander but that's my fault for not reading the menu. My boyfriends pad Thai was to die for and very generous portion. Free wifi and very unique pub atmosphere. Not expensive either!!!

If you want good food you go where the locals go. This little pub had fantastic pub fare and drinks. If you want Asian food, go upstairs and try the Pad Thai What a great shot

This Pub is situated on Westminster Bridge Road, London.(Kennington) From the outside it looks like a typical spit and sawdust old London Pub, on entering the atmosphere confirms your initial thoughts, as there are old wooden floors, a good size bar, and plenty of seating. The staff are friendly and helpful. However the food id something else! The menu is mainly Thai / Asian cuisine. The food was excellent, being well cooked and very tasty and a good size portion. The prices are very good and value for money. Great for a lunch time feast! Well recommended to visit if in the area, and dont want to get ripped off!

We took our parents here .. our waitress was very nice . Drinks orders taken & we reviewed the menu .. the place is quite small inside, but has ample outside seating areas for drinks & to eat ..The door was open & being inside we were getting cold .. we asked if the door could be closed & that made it feel better. For starters I had a prawn cocktail, nice prawns & enough sauce. But an oversized dry lettuce leaf & limp tomato on the side was not needed. My daughter had potato skins, yet looked a bit little & sad, but she said they were quite tasty, served with a sour cream.For main I had the chicken roast dinner, this is basically half a chicken which tasted like it had been cooked in a steam bag. The meat fell off the bones. It came with plenty of veg, unfortunately the parsnips were too hard to cut, and the roast potatoes were a tad burnt .. but there was plenty of veg & food there & very tasty. And all our food came up hot & on warm plates . Hubby had the burger & he said was nice .. being as it's a small place you are seated quite close to other diners & so not somewhere to go for a private conversation.. Our waitress was nice & the place was busy..

Been to this pub a good few times. Excellent food at real pub prices. Can choose to eat downstairs in the pub or upstairs in the restaurant. Welcoming & friendly service. Definitely recommend.

War zwar mittlerweile zum zweiten Mal in der Ecke Lambeth North im sehr empfehlenswerten Hotel Waterloo der wirklich empfehlenswerten Park Plaza Gruppe, ähm halt, wo war ich,,,, ach .... Jedenfalls war ich 2 Nächte in Folge in diesem wirklich angnehmen und nicht auf Touristen-Chick getrimmten Hochglanz Pub sehr gern. Gutes Bier (ja, bekommt man hier), gute Küche und garantiert auch immer ein Plätzchen unter einheimischen und wirklich liebevollen Publikum, welche sich in Gemeinschft Fussball (SKY!!!) anschauen, miteunander plauschen. Der Hammer, wirklich ein Geheimtipp, ist der kleine Hinterhofbiergarten (siehe auch dazu eingestellte Bilder mit den Irischen Nummerschildern). Kurzum - einfach toll und nicht zu teuer. Immer wieder gern.....

Scoperto perché vicino all'albergo dove alloggiavo..questo pub inglese è molto originale! Infatti al piano terra tipico pub inglese, con birre e fish and chips (davvero buono) e al piano superiore cucina tailandese! Ambiente unico, e il personale simpaticissimo..e soprattutto economico! Da provare!
