🚇 Kennington 🍺 £6.00 Heineken ❤️ A welcoming Kennington boozer that appeared on the big screen. . The Black Prince is located in a residential side street just off busy Kennington Road. The nearest tube is Kennington which is around a five walk away. . This pub may be familiar to you as it features in the film The Kingsman. The pub was used in a couple of scenes, one scene was prior to Harry (Colin Firth’s) bar fight beating up the local wideboys and one where Eggsy (Taron Egerton) did donuts in a Subaru (link to scene in bio) . This is a traditional pub which has a central bar taking centre stage. The bar is clad in dark wood and has a wonderful “Double Diamond” sign at the top. Around the walls are knights shields with different types of heraldry symbols. This pub is big on showing live sporting events, I managed to catch the second half of the Fulham v Liverpool game whilst visiting. At the back of the pub is a cosy sun-trap beer garden which also has a TV showing sport. . The beer choice was full of popular keg options and also two cask. I chose a pint of Heineken which was nice enough and average London lager price. The food menu is full of traditional British favourites and a variety of comfort options, fish and chips cost £15. On Sundays, hearty roast dinners are available but be sure and book in advance. . I visited mid afternoon on a Saturday and the pub had a fair few in and the atmosphere was very welcoming and relaxed. The clientele was a mix of locals and some pub crawlers. I was served by a nice member of staff who served with a smile. . The @theblackprincepub is a very welcoming pub and definitely one for the traditionalist’s and lovers of live sport. Very friendly barman. Would be a lovely local pub if it weren't £7 a pint for an off-tasting pint of Heineken. I know it's London but crikey. Apparently they filmed the exterior of the fight from Kingsmen in here so that's cool I guess.

There seems to be almost no one who does not know the famous line from <Kingsman>, “Manners Maketh Man,” that comes to mind when thinking of England. This famous line appeared in a pub in the play, and that place is here. Since only the exterior was filmed, the interior is slightly different from what it appears in the movie. Tourists who aren't fans of <Kingsman> don't come here very often, but coincidentally, our accommodation is nearby, so it was a meaningful first meal. When I visited around 5 p.m., the kitchen opened at 6 p.m., so I spent about an hour drinking beer and chatting with friends to kill time. As it is a pub, there aren't many snacks, so it feels like most customers only drink beer. ​ The most important thing in a pub is always beer, and the Heineken I drank that day had an amazing foam ratio, so I realized once again why I must drink draft beer. I drank the whole glass before eating the chicken. The side dishes ordered were chicken basket, boneless chicken tenderloin, and served with french fries. The batter wasn't crispy, but the chicken was juicy and the meat was soft, so it was worth eating. ​ ​If you stop by when the soccer team you are rooting for is playing, it would be an even more enjoyable place to experience the British pub culture that is serious about soccer. Note that it is not far from the London Eye and Big Ben.

Very entertaining fight between a man in a suit and a group of youths

Had a pretty decent burger here, served by very friendly staff, and because it was Friday it was half price. (July 2024) typical style British corner pub where you can relax and feel welcome.

Didn't have any food. Nice cosy old school pub. Staff were nice and the drunks were decent. I would definitely recommend. Didn't have food so can't comment on it

Highly recommend the bacon chili jam cheeseburger! Was very tasty and good portion, fries are crisp. Came on a Friday and got it half price! Service was great as well, and staff made efforts to make us comfortable. Overall a lovely local pub

Our family went here for Sunday Roast this past March. The pork belly was fantastic. The skin was crisp, and everything was flavored well. The staff is very friendly and the service was excellent. Would highly recommend!

Love the fish and chips. They come with fries and peas. No side salad available-if you are wondering. I’ve been dining here for over a year on a monthly basis. The large filet of fish is always lightly battered. Both the fish and chips come hot and crispy. The atmosphere is classic. Dogs are welcome. Kitchen usually opens at 6pm.

Me and my miniature iggy were violently attacked by the owner’s two big (20kg) each dogs. Mine is 4kg. Just imagine how terrifying that was. My dog kept shivering after I managed to grab her and pull away from those two feral uneducated dogs. I spoke with the dog owner. Who works/owns the pub and he refused to put them on a lead. After rolling his eyes at me and being condescending and impolite. The dogs were not on a lead even after I spoke to the police and a policeman went there to make him do the right thing. I will report again to the police because I don’t want other neighbourhood dogs to develop a horrible trauma from illiterate people who train dogs to be aggressive and feral. Stay away from this pub if you love dogs. Or if you only teach love to your dog. To the pub: FOLLOW THE RULES. YOUR DOGS ANTISOCIAL BEHAVIOUR IS UNACCEPTABLE!

Great roast. Pork belly is delicious. Its a good pub for football fans but if you're not into football, sometimes the TV volume is quite loud and is annoying for non-football fans who want to have a more relaxed Sunday lunch.

This is where they filmed one of the bar scenes in the Kingsman movies. And this place is not a gimmic. I was actually shocked they don’t play into it like I thought they would. But this place is truly beautiful. It’s not a rowdy man’s pub like some think it might be it’s actually a very relaxing place to be. It could be a different story later at night but we had a good experience. I had the bacon and jam burger and it was SOOO GOOD! My girlfriend had the chicken sandwich which she thought was good but wished she would’ve gotten a burger instead because the burger was so much better than the chicken. Also, Monday and Friday they do half off burgers as of the time of making this review. It’s a deal you really can’t pass up. Also, their weekend brunch menu has some really good prices. The owner and bartender was very kind and made sure our experience was good.

We came for a Sunday roast on a recommendation and we were a bit disappointed. We ordered the vegetarian roast which I admit is rather awkward but our dish was not cooked properly. They did offer a discount which was lovely. The roast in general was underwhelming. The potato’s were more under baked than roasted and the veg were anaemic looking along with lacklustre gravy. The pub was also freezing which was quite uncomfortable on a cold day. That could have been forgiven if the meal was nice. I would recommend having a word with the chef and getting some more alcohol free beer options.

Kingsman auf den Spuren landeten wir im Pub. Super nette Bedienung und eine tolle Atmosphäre luden zum Verweilen ein. Die Location entsprach nicht mehr ganz dem Filmset aber hatte trotzdem den Flair, den ein englisches Pub haben muss!

Ich war auf der Suche nach einem nostalgischen Moment von Kingsman. Ich habe gegessen und getrunken. Die Bühne ist leider nicht mehr dieselbe aber das Personal ist super nett und ich habe die Zeit genossen.

Cracking pub, good beer, good food, dynamite beer garden. It's expensive but it's a pub in London. Great for watching sport and named after one of my favourite historical figures, so extra points for that.

Great pub for a Sunday roast. Full of locals watching the soccer and having a great time. Beer was plentiful on such a hot day and the pork belly Sunday roast was out of this world. Worth the long walk for the tube station. I did find it a bit of a intimating area to walk around by myself as a young female. There was lots of people yelling in there apartments and didn't seem overly clean.

Ein äußerst netter und uriger Pub in Lambeth. Fans der „Kingsman“-Filme ist er aus diesen bestens bekannt. Allerdings eine kleine Vorwarnung, die Innenaufnahmen des Pubs im Film stammen nicht aus dem Black Prince. Dennoch lädt die Einrichtung auf einige Pints hervorragenden Ales und Lagers ein. Die Bierpreise sind für Londoner Niveau völlig angemessen. Die Fish&Chips sind ebenfalls hervorragend und nur zu empfehlen. Der sehr nette Wirt, der zu unserer Überraschung sogar Deutsch sprach, lies uns die Biere vor dem Kauf noch verkosten! Es war insgesamt ein super Service wie man ihn aus Deutschland kaum gewohnt ist. Das Black Prince ist eine Empfehlung für alle, die die gutes Bier und Essen in einer entspannten Atmosphäre genießen wollen. Wir kommen gerne wieder!

I called in this establishment while waiting for another order close by to be completed, although the pub was a nice cosy place with a large outside place it was very quiet for early evening. The lager was £5:50 for a pint which for this area I found to be expensive.

I ate a cheeseburger, fries and coke for £ 19. The burger was very good and the fries one of the best in south London.

Had Sunday Lunch at the Black Prince yesterday. Delicious roast beef, with all the trimmings. Very friendly service, reasonably priced and a lovely atmosphere. Highly recommended.

나 이외에도 많은 이 글을 읽는 사람은 킹스맨 때문에 갈 것 같다라고 생각한다. 주변에 관광지도 딱히 없는 것 같고 안에 킹스맨에 나온 곳이라고 막 특별히 있는 것도 아니고 촬영때의 모습과도 많이 달랐다. 그렇지만 그냥 기네스 한 잔 하면서 manner makethe man 뭐 이 생각하면서 바텐더 저러다가 마취총 맞겠지 하면서 그냥 마셨다. 기대를 하고 가서 그런지 그냥 더 별 것 없게 느낀 느낌 그렇지만 영화 속에 들어간 느낌은 확실히 있었다. 여기 킹스맨에 나온 바인데 여기서 술 마시고 있어 이런 느낌도 좋았다.

Proper boozer this. Good beers, atmosphere and food. Good for sport, pints and its quite intimate so good for date probly.

If you need food, don’t go there. I’ve been waiting for my food for almost 1h. And it was even worse for some others at my table. They definitely served before me tables that arrived after me.

For me, the Black Prince will always be the quintessential London pub (and my favourite). Love the staff and the regulars. I’ve had some of the best nights here.

Siamo venuti qui in quanto nerd di Kingsman. L'esterno del pub è effettivamente quello del film, ma l'interno è completamente diverso. Piccolino, con un micro giardino sul retro. Ci siamo accomodati nella sala principale, proprio davanti al bancone delle birre. Ci abbiamo messo un po a capire che per ordinare dovevamo andare noi e non sarebbero venute le ragazze a prendere l'ordine, ma poco male. Avevo gia dato un'occhiata al menu sul loro sito internet, quindi ero gia preparata sul cosa scegliere. Un BPNY e un buttermilk chicken burger, piu una pinta di guinnes (come i veri kingsman). I bun sono abbastanza piccolini, ma davvero buoni. Il bpny ha due hamburger ma se siete affamati non ve ne bastera' uno solo. Il buttermilk chicken è qualcosa di spettacolare: un intero petto di pollo fritto che è piu grande del panino, succoso da morire e croccante fuori! Mai mangiato un pollo cosi! Le patatine niente di che. I burgers costano 16£ l'uno e sono comprensivi di salse e contorno. La guinness costa solo 2£. Acqua omaggio.

Amazing pub that offers American football. The owner and bar keeper were accommodating in every way. We visited on our last night before returning to the States and this friendly, quaint location couldn't have been better. We met the nicest people and enjoyed sitting by the fire. We were informed by the locals that the Kingsman had been filmed there. Fabulous experience!

This place does a mean Sunday roast dinner! It's certainly the best one in London so far!! The portion is a great size, it's served hot not lukewarm/cold (an experience that's often encountered at other pub lunches) and served with a good, selection of fresh vegetables and trimmings with a gravy to totally die for! All of this is set in a friendly, not too busy, warm, clean pub. A good variety drinks are served and finally, it has to be mentioned they have very clean toilets and a cure secluded beer garden.

Un pub typiquement britannique. Serveurs sympa, service rapide au bar. Je n'ai pas goûté la nourriture mais elle semblait fort goutue. Légèrement cher pour la bière (ou alors c'est que je suis habitué aux bières pas chères 🤷 qui sait ) Cerise sur le gâteau pour les amateurs de Kingsman, on s'y croirait ! Well done guys

Its really nice in there. I can only recommend it. But sadly there was a fight, and some random old man did beat up some plebs. But even tho it was a very nice visit and its worth a visit.

Popped in on a Sunday evening for a friends birthday. Pub was busy, all tables inside and out taken. They had just finished serving Sunday Lunch which was obviously very popular. Staff were friendly and welcoming and the landlord's dog sat on a stool at the bar, vetting customers! Very dog friendly pub, with several dogs present. Landlord's dog, though, very much in charge. Great pub to visit if you're in the area; worth a ten minute walk from Imperial War Museum.

Wakes up local residents at 8am on a Sunday morning by throwing bottles into their bins. If you want local people to use you, suggest you reduce the noise you make on a Sunday morning.
