I was here for two nights for a Champions League football match. Basic room. Nothing great, the price-performance ratio is also a bit sluggish at times, but nothing dramatic either. The pub is great, it has an atmosphere. The service was always friendly to me, whether it concerns accommodation or a visit to the pub. For me, an authentic place where I would have no problem returning.

We paid almost 140 pounds per night for a 3 single-bed room with a shared bathroom. Despite there being 3 of us, they told us there was only one key that we'd have to share. This is not acceptable for a room that is advertising itself as bookable for up to 3 adults, as there should be one key per adult just like in any other hotel. To their credit, they told us that during the opening hours we could go to the bar and ask to be let in with the master key, or that if it's an emergency we could call the owner after hours and she could come and let us in, but this is not a sufficient solution in my opinion. If they really can only give out one key, this needs to be clearly advertised in the listing. P.S. The reviews of the hotel are clearly getting skewed upwards because these reviews include both ones of the hotel and ones of the pub by itself. Hopefully people read the reviews closely when deciding whether to book.

Went in today, we arrived at 11.15am asked if they would put my football game on, which was on at 12.30, they said will you be staying for food and drink we said yes, they said no problem will put your game on. We had about 3 drinks each just ordered food, then they said sorry turning the game over, the staff where really rude, and laughing because we had ordered food, we asked to cancel the order, which they denied, so we left and found a better pub. Would not recommend this pub, and to be honest some of the locals where saying that's out of order, and the new management are very poor.

Another place for a drink. No doubt fun place for friends and having get together. Pool table, beer garden and nice atmosphere but not for everyone. For me it was bit noisy even i can’t talk to my partner who was sitting next to me. Anyhow good for big groups as they have plenty of space to accommodate.

It is not a 4 * hotel, but I was welcomed very friendly by Sandra who makes you feel at home right away! Comfortable room, clean bathroom. You can clearly see the place is cleaned well. (She’s friendly too) Walking distance to anything in the city centre. And most importantly: Nice and quiet at night for peaceful sleeping… I would come back to stay!

My wife left her bag on the seat. An hour later we went back, in a panic, and there was Sandra, with the bag behind the bar. What a relief, what a star. You have a wonderful employee there, take care of her, one of the best and a busy, busy bee.

The rooms are good for one or two nights if you have a day/night out in Manchester and you're not planning on spending much time in there. Small and basic but had everything we needed. Comfy, clean bed. Bear in mind that bathrooms are separate but there's one on each floor (so you'll be sharing with others. This wasn't a problem as there's not many people on each floor) The pub was a lot nicer than expected. It's great that you can roll out of bed and straight downstairs for breakfast (Decent full English and discount for guests) or have a quick drink before heading out. I did hear that one of the rooms didn't have blinds or curtains which could make for a difficult night's sleep. Bring ear plugs just incase. One side is quiet but our side was slightly noisy but was to be expected as Psych fest was on (which we attended and was great) we still managed to sleep quite well. The location is great! Really central and has a few bars nearby. There's a really nice brunch place across the road where they do good bloody Mary's. I'd definitely stay here again, it was great for the price and location. Cheap and cheerful

Been going in for a few weeks seemed nice that's why it got two stars but today walked in lady was busy doing something I chose to sit at the top as this pub allows vaping inside and it gets very bad with smells and smoke in there which is why I sat at the top don't want to get involved but then was told seats reserved no signs no one in pub so we left they can keep their drinks and food I am not sitting with all the builders vaping in the pub not good but they buy all the beer so seems like the pub let's it happen gone to a nicer pub to spend my money

Crown and Anchor in Manchester is an absolute hidden gem for anyone looking for an authentic and heartwarming Sunday dinner experience. I had the pleasure of dining there last Sunday and I have to say it was simply amazing. As soon as you enter the restaurant you immediately feel welcome. The ambience is cozy and inviting, with a charming mix of traditional pub style and modern touches. The friendly staff also helps you to immediately feel at home. I would particularly like to emphasize the quality of the ingredients. Everything tasted fresh and homemade, like it had come straight from a British grandmother's kitchen. The portions were generous, leaving you feeling satisfied and full after eating. The atmosphere at the Crown and Anchor was lively and friendly that Sunday evening. It was lovely to see locals and visitors alike enjoying the wonderful food and company. In summary, I can only warmly recommend the Crown and Anchor. Not only does it offer a fantastic Sunday dinner, but also a cozy atmosphere and first-class service. If you're in Manchester and looking for a true British dining experience, you definitely shouldn't miss this restaurant.

I had a single room, it had plenty of space and the bed was comfortable enough. The only reason for a 4 stars is that they could put a desk on it or some place to sit with the computer besides the bed. Also there was an hanger but no other place to put your stuff, not a nightstand, a desk or anything like that. The windows were very good

A lively pub with a nice vibe in a central location and open until 1am. Staff were friendly and helpful. Our room was for 3 adults. It was clean and the beds were comfortable. Unfortunately the room didn't have any windows that could be opened so it was a bit uncomfortable with the heat, although a provided fan was much appreciated. The rooms are not en suite but there were two washrooms which were quite adequate. Decent digs and pretty good value for money for the proximity to Manchester City Centre, Chinatown etc..and a late night drink

Visiting Crown and Anchor has become a cherished ritual for me, especially on Friday evenings after a long week at work. There’s something uniquely comforting about settling in for a couple of cheeky pints in such a welcoming atmosphere. What truly sets this place apart, though, is the exceptional friendliness of the staff. It feels as though we’ve known each other for years, creating a sense of camaraderie and belonging that’s hard to find elsewhere. The manager, Sandra, deserves a special mention. In a world where many in her position might come across as grumpy or self-entitled, she is a breath of fresh air. Sandra’s approachability and genuine warmth contribute significantly to the pleasant vibes and atmosphere of the pub, making every visit memorable. Crown and Anchor has undeniably become my favourite pub in the city centre. The combination of its friendly staff, inviting atmosphere, and the feeling of being among friends makes it stand out. I can say, with hand on heart, that it’s more than just a pub to me – it’s a community hub where joy and comfort are always on tap. If you’re looking for a place that feels like home away from home, look no further 😌

This is a local place that has good service. They let us use their toilet facilities ✅ were very service oriented and friendly. Had Turkish coffe!! Served it with Turkish delight 😍😍😍😍 The person misunderstood coffe for tea. So I got tea first, but they didn't mind changing it for me without a problem. I liked the coffe, will definitely get back to taste their food 😍

What an overpriced, overrated, unfriendly, disappointing place this turned out to be. I came in and was shocked to see just how expensive this place is. I know it's slap bang in the middle of didsbury but my oh my this place is expensive and for the price, the food isn't exceptional whatsoever. I ordered two fish, one lightly battered and one normal but when I got home I unwrapped two over cooked dark brown, heavily battered fish, greasy as hell with the most anemic chips you could imagine, and at the price of £19:20 you can guarantee I'm never going back and I'd advise others to stay well clear, but given its the only one about, I guess the residents don't really have much choice.

We asked about food but it wasn't on as united were playing shortly after our arrival. The guy behind the bar said we were welcome to get food elsewhere and bring it in which I thought was great. We were in for the football anyway and I was with my Mrs and two teenage kids so getting them fed was top priority. The place really started to fill up just before the game and the atmosphere was top draw, the place was absolutely bouncing. United v Lyon FYI, my Mrs and kids didn't know what to expect and absolutely loved it. I'll definitely be coming back and will have food next time. Great fun and if your out for the football this is the bar 🤙
