We had to wait for 1 an half hour for our food never waited that long there

Wife and I returned on 10 April for dinner with a friend who has a new puppy which was no problem for the restaurant staff (Becky, Millie & Ellie) who sat us in a "dogs allowed area" inside (pouring with rain outside) and even brought Bobby his own drinking bowl . The food was of the same high standard as our prior visit -we recommend the Fish & Chips and wife and I shared the Mega Mix Grill - All perfectly cooked in a warm and friendly atmosphere . We used to travel out of town to Country pubs but having discovered the Crown on our doorstep so to speak, this has saved on needless travel - thank you again the great staff at the Crown. Prior visit experience below My wife and I dropped in for a late lunch as were passing close by the Crown Broadhurst Avenue Bournemouth, and thought why not. There was plenty of parking, the place was warm and welcoming and the staff - Becky and Molly - brilliant both highly efficient and helpful with our menu choices. Great to have staff that care about one's entire meal experience. The mega mix grill was outstanding being perfectly cooked and presented - thank you

The service and the food were very good. Very disappointed that a group of three men on the next table were using foul language and were vaping some of the time.

Nice food very reasonably priced Staff very helpful

No prawn cocktail. Service was very slow. No tab running, (One was run for years with previous landlord, John, with no upset). Extras not offered e.g. mustard, Mango chutney had to be requested for curry. Staff were pleasant but there was no 'soul' in the premises. It seemed like it was all process, process, process and customers were there to serve the needs of the business. The place was clean and tidy and neatly laid out - it was noticable but the heart of the place was missing.

It was OK. Not particularly warming. No meet and greet, we had to find our own reserved table. It was clearly marked 5

Although the bar was not very busy took about 45 min for 4 main courses to arrive. Lucky we were not in a hurry.

I booked a table on line but no table was reserved even though you confirmed the booking. But food was excellent and the service from Beckie was also Excellent

Had a lovely meal. Service was excellent. the only disappointment was someone smoking in the entrance outside and you could smell the smoke inside.

Brief visit this Easter Saturday afternoon. Very pleasant smiley greeting from the young female staff member. Not to busy but steady, and a lovely relaxed atmoshere in the main bar area. The mini refurb appears to be finished, with the scaffolding now removed, save a large full waste skip on one side of the car park; the pub looks very much better for the works - both inside & out. Did not eat on this occasion. As with all refurbs, the prices have pedictably (& unfortunately) gone up:- Carlsberg £4.05/pt; Fosters £4.20/pt. :(( However, will be returning soon during the warmer Spring/Summer days, to enjoy refreshments in the substantial outside seating areas. Actual Star Rating this visit: 4 1/2 stars.

The lady on duty was exceptional attentive, especially regarding the food order and service was quick. The food was piping hot, unfortunately the only draw back is everything is served with albeit excellent chips and peas. My Aunt and myself enjoyed the Steak and Ale pie, especially as it came with delicious extra gravy, as I was eating the pie I would have preferred say broccoli instead of chips. My Aunt is unable to eat peas, beans or mushrooms however settled on half of a grilled tomato thanks to the kindness of the lady on duty, she loved the chips.

Food was absolutely awful, 2 roast dinners, potatoes were cold and clearly frozen out of a packet, chicken was equally as bad, we were given the dinner but had to wait over 5 mins for the gravy, also too burgers ordered that had to go back as they were not cooked, I just can’t get across now bad the food was only good meal was a gammon dinner thst was ordered, after complaining about the uncooked burgers, we just felt too embarrassed to send the two roast dinners back, but I wish we had as they were almost an edible

Poor service at bar had to ask to have ice added to our soft drinks and then to mix blackcurrant cordial in the lemonade. We ordered 3 burgers that were all burnt which left an unpleasant taste to it. Ordered chicken wings which were tiny like we were eating sparrow legs spent £47 over £20 in drink for £67 for poor experience. The table was sticky I helped myself to napkin s and cleaning spray that had been left out anf cleaned our table, our food too a long time after the wings so I went back to bar to enquire the girl went to kitchen and could see our food under a heat lamp. We use to be regular there this was our first time returning since new management,no change to decor no extra seating, same scruffy lads swearing in main bar, after passing a smoker at the door on the way in, improvement needs to be made, 3 locals not returning in a hurry. We went on 17.2.24

This is tricky. The bottom line is that it's ok but not great. I was with a large party which made the atmosphere work for me that night, but I wouldn't rush back. I'm not a fan of fighting through a bunch of smokers at the entrance. The food is ordered at the bar and the barmaid was talking to her friend the whole time she was serving me! I think that's just rude. I had the Hunters Chicken which was dry and unimpressive. The dessert was equally mediocre. It wasn't bad but nor was it good.

If zero stars was a option i would. Judging by our recent experiences at the crown with poor food and lack of customer service from the Manager Gary. With the current building works happening these will more than likely out last the manager.

Our visit to the Crown was an awful experience. I popped in with my wife and kid hoping to have a good dining experience. We came across a lady who was not welcoming at all. It looked like she saw ghosts and was shocked . We tried to grab a table but we were not getting very good vibes from this lady as she was just standing behind the counter looking at us showing no intention to converse with us. Since we were the only people at this time It was really awkward. Unfortunately we had to get up and leave with our day now ruined.

The newly decorated pub looks excellent. I was greeted with a smile by Becky at the bar. She pulled a wonderful pint and made me feel really welcome.

Love Becks, she always makes us welcome and provides good service.

Great staff and ambience. I'm disabled and all staff come to see what I want, when I want it. Good food at hard to beat prices. Caters well for all ages and backgrounds. My eldest Granddaughter always asks to go there for the Chicken Korma. This is a Crown Jewel.

San Miguel poured in Carlsberg glasses, food order a complete shambles the had to wait for over an hour between our starters and main course. It will be the Broadway next week

We went for a meals and to see how the work that is being done on the building it look slow progress but coming on and looks great the meal was great has usual and Jess was are server she was lovely thank you Jess

We used The Crown for our wedding reception recently, and can't praise them highly enough, there service was second to none. And the buffet they catered for was delicious, and to our requirements, as well as catering for special requests. And was a huge thumbs up by all of our guests. And excellent communication throughout, and a huge thank you, especially to Gary, Becky and Jordan for everything behind the scenes. Food was basic and virtually tasteless

Come here every Wednesday for quiz night and the atmosphere of the whole place is lovely, also went for a nice Sunday lunch cooked by Katie and Ryan and it was amazing !! Thank you !!

Excellent service especially from the lovely becky if l could give 10 stars.l would , she goes above and beyond to make sure her customers feel valued and give exceptional customer service , after the father in law became ill with his health she would give him a call to see if he wanted a lift up on her way to work , which aided his rehabilitation, and was greatly appreciated by all the family. Becky deserves a medal 🏅 Thank you x

Great little gem of a place. Full of atmosphere. Staff are so attentive and can not do enough for you. Food is outstanding and plentiful and a great choice on the menu. There is something for everyone. Bar is well stocked and your spoiled for choice, from wine to cocktails, bubbles sprits beers or soft drinks. Take your pick . They have it. We look forward to going back again soon.

Went here to charge my EV. A great place to have some refreshments while the vehicle is charging.

We regularly visit the Crown, which has had a major spruce-up both inside and out in the past couple of months. The food is still very good value and the drinks a reasonable price. It's a shame that the food specials have been dropped, they helped the pub to stand out from the many others in the area, perhaps Marstons will reconsider their decision in the not too distant future. Meanwhile the staff are very welcoming, especially Becky and there is a special offer on mains for those signed up to the email.

A friendly local pub. The food is good, and there is a good selection of real ale. There is always a friendly welcome, and assistant manager Becky is always attentive and helpful. This is a proper pub with no big screen televisions or intrusive music.

Food has pretty much returned to it’s good standard since the initial handover to new landlord. Focus on presentation of food could make it look more appealing to match the taste, for instance bigger plate or shallow bowl for the salad (which was delicious!) Daily/weekly specials would be a very welcome return too. Majority of staff are lovely as always. Lighting is too harsh in dining area- feels like you are sat under interrogation lamps if you are unfortunate enough to be seated under one! Toilets could do with a proper refurb to make them more accessible. Take a walk around imagining how easy/difficult it is to order a drink/food, move around, use the toilet etc if you are a wheelchair user. Get active on the socials again and bring the community feel back. We are all loyal locals and want the Crown to be a success. Best of luck to you.

Posting on behalf of my folks who eat here often and had an excellent Christmas Day lunch. They think very highly of The Crown and would highly recommend.

We came for lunch with a friend and ordered using the QR code - service was quick, the burgers were very good, and we had a good catch up. What more could you want!

The pub has always been open at 11 since I can remember not open until 12 maybe good idea to change the website opening hours Quality of the lagers is disappointing when they remember to order them. Shame was once a really enjoyable place to drink in

Food gone drastically downhill, nothing fresh all frozen, service awful, new landlord doesn’t seem to appreciate locals who have been going there for years, absolutely no atmosphere at Christmas with a small tree ( no star or angel on the top) and no decorations, definitely not Marstons at its best!

As a long standing regular I am sad to see how things have gone downhill under new management. The Landlord was rude and argumentative when he was serving me and I’ve repeatedly heard him being rude to his staff too. The pub seems to now serve a rough bunch with drug taking regularly happening in the toilet and it’s noticeable that the regulars are staying away. Am sad this local community hub has gone downhill so quickly and after experiencing the rudeness of the landlord, we’ll be drinking elsewhere.

We waited a long time for our food & when it arrived it was cold & not very nice. The fish was like rubber. Wouldn’t recommend.

First visit for a while party of 4. Has recently under gone a refurbishment and was much better. Took advantage of the lunchtime menu. Food was well cooked and served in a timely manner. Disappointing was that when we ordered the main course we were asked if we would also like a pudding. We advised probably but would choose later. On finishing main course we decided a pudding would be nice. On ordering the pudding we were advised that we could not have the lunchtime special price as the pudding were not ordered with the main course and would therefore have to pay full price. Feel this information should be advised and made clear to customers

Food was good, beer was cloudy,,, the gents toilet was shocking, wet floor, a unlockable door,, toilet seat worn out. I would have thought with the amount of builders floating around working on the revamping of the pub,,,, they could at least got a bolt on the cubical. Not a good first impression.

Regular lunchtime customer ver disappointed my meal was lukewarm.as were others on my group.i did point this out.to the young server. Who just said there's nothing he could do!.so had a cuppa tea..plus my first choice was Beef Lasagne.but was told contained bacon !!hope things improve we will be there again next week.

Our family Christmas getogether, 14 of us, all thoroughly enjoyed their meal. Staff smiley and friendly, not one complaint. Back there next week with 11 of us!

The atmosphere was amazing even with the refurbishment going on. The staff are polite and very cheerful and the holding manager was very helpful and really knows his job.

Lovely meal. My wife had scampi and I had a curry. Both were great quality and adequate portion sizes. Service was pretty quick despite being busy (we booked quite early). The staff were helpful and seemed happy to serve.

Amazing new look and great food, the team are super friendly and the place looks fantastic, looking forward to going back.

We were frequent visitors but found that not only was run down but the food was not cooked well . We decided to give it another chance as we had vouchers . So very pleased that we did although the pub was being renovated it did not spoil our visit . The fish and chips were excellent. Wine reasonable priced . Missed zither other manager John as he was always very friendly, look forward to the new management when they arrive
