Lovely old pub in pretty Pilton. The fish and chips were outstanding - very light herby batter on the fish and crispy delicious chips without a hint of being greasy. The best bit was the staff though - they were all extremely warm and friendly. Well done for running such a lovely hospitable pub and being a very agreeable lunchtime stopover for us on our way home from Cornwall. We’ll visit again when we’re next in the area. 🙏

We needed to find a destination for a Sunday lunch easily accessed halfway between our Daughter and family in Keynsham and our holiday caravan site near Crewkerne We picked on The Crown and had a friendly welcome when we phoned to book and we were not disappointed when we arrived. Outside the place looked quite small with a large car park but the restaurant had been totally rebuilt and was huge. The car park soon filled. The two grandchildren had the child roast portions and the 4 adults had the beef or the belly pork. The meals were beautifully presented and all the portions more than enough for us. Lovely medium rare beef of delicious pork with a great choice of veg topped with an excellent Yorkshire pudding. This place is an absolute gem and the keen staff and quality food deserve to succeed. Really recommend to anyone.

Went here for dinner. Lovely food with decent portion sizes. Quirky decor and reasonably priced. Bought by Banksky a few years ago. Highly recommended. Great service and staff.

Visited The crown for Sunday lunch, which everyone agreed it was very tasty. Small menu but very well executed. The decor is amazing in the restaurant, very off the wall and gives the place a unique setting. Staff are very well trained and attentive without being too overbearing, nothing is a problem for them. there was one issue and that was the gents, it had a strong smell of urine, unfortunately it escaped my mind to tell the manager as we were having a discussion at the table, other than tat it was spotless. keep it up.

Spent an unexpected couple of hours here waiting for the AA to deal with a vehicle breakdown. Had a very friendly welcome. Delicious Ham egg and chips and some good beer by a cosy wood burner. Prices very reasonable.

The staff couldn't have been more welcoming but the food although well priced was very average and unimaginative. The surroundings were very tired but in a picturesque setting. OK overall if you want very basic food.

We wanted a light meal and a glass of local cider while in the area visiting the Bath and West Showground. We chose the Crown Inn for easy access rather than negotiating country lanes. Although the decor needed a bit of tlc, the welcome was...

Outstanding italian food. I cannot speak highly enough of this place. We stumbled across it while wandering around Dorking and are so glad that we did. The service was friendly and genuine, and the food is incredible. Everything was cooked fresh and with genuine care. If you are in the area you should definitely check it out.

Really thankful to the chef who stayed open for us and cooked us delicious burgers!! When we turned up we didn’t realise it was closing time. The chef stayed open and cooked us the most delicious burgers and fires!! My friend doesn’t like burgers so the chef made my friend her own recipe of dirty fries. Will defo be going back!! 10/10

A really, really poor meal unfortunately. Pasta tasted like it was from Tesco (the value range at that) and the sauce was weak and watery with little to no flavour. The sauce was advertised to come with king prawns and when it arrived they were so incredibly tiny! Imagine the shrimp you might get from Iceland supermarket. A traditional salad of tomato and onions was barely one tasteless, unseasoned tomato and half a sliced onion - no oil, vinegar or herbs to be seen. Pizza was okay... just and the wine was good but unfortunately these were the only "positives" to take away from the evening. Very, very disappointed, no wonder they were so quiet on a Friday night. Not what you expect for £20 per head meal for sure.
