Service was FANTASTIC! Came on a saturday night and the pub was very busy but the staff were very smiley and extremely accomodating, even when my mum was being a prick. Our waiter was a very charming young man and our food came very quickly and was DELICIOUS. brilliant pub, will definitely come again.

Fantastic! Absolutely superb food. There was 11 of us (5 children) and we all had delicious food. I'm surprised this place has any negative reviews, we couldn't fault it! Two steaks cooked to perfection, pork belly was divine, fish and chips amazing and cleared plates from all the kids. Wonderful service and atmosphere. Highly recommend and will definitely return if we visit the area again. Keep it up guys, you're doing a wonderful job!

Lovely old pub in pretty Pilton. The fish and chips were outstanding - very light herby batter on the fish and crispy delicious chips without a hint of being greasy. The best bit was the staff though - they were all extremely warm and friendly. Well done for running such a lovely hospitable pub and being a very agreeable lunchtime stopover for us on our way home from Cornwall. We’ll visit again when we’re next in the area. 🙏

Visited The crown for Sunday lunch, which everyone agreed it was very tasty. Small menu but very well executed. The decor is amazing in the restaurant, very off the wall and gives the place a unique setting. Staff are very well trained and attentive without being too overbearing, nothing is a problem for them. there was one issue and that was the gents, it had a strong smell of urine, unfortunately it escaped my mind to tell the manager as we were having a discussion at the table, other than tat it was spotless. keep it up.

Spent an unexpected couple of hours here waiting for the AA to deal with a vehicle breakdown. Had a very friendly welcome. Delicious Ham egg and chips and some good beer by a cosy wood burner. Prices very reasonable.

The staff couldn't have been more welcoming but the food although well priced was very average and unimaginative. The surroundings were very tired but in a picturesque setting. OK overall if you want very basic food.

Visited earlier in the week and booked an 8.30pm table a couple of days in advance, on the day we received a call from the restaurant asking if we could move the time to an earlier slot so the chefs can clean the ovens... though thinking it was a strange ask we agreed to the ask. When we got there we had a decent enough meal, where we were served by the same lady who called us earlier in the day. We ordered a bottle of wine with the meal which arrived corked and was told I would need to open it myself. OK, again strange but we did it without complaint. Once we finished the meal we moved to the bar area for a couple of drinks (before 9pm), we sat and watched the same waitress start to close all of the blinds in the place and hovering over people's tables for anything she could see was finished with. By the time we got to 9.30 she came over to all the tables being used and asked 'are you finishing up?' we said not yet as we had only got some new drinks. People obviously felt uncomfortable as other tables did finish up and leave after that, leaving us as the last table. As soon as that was the case the waitress then came back to our table to tell us 'just to let you know that we are the last ones at the bar now'. So we basically were hounded out of the place by 9.45pm! We finished our drinks and started walking out, guess who followed us with the keys... yes the same super waitress who locked up as soon as we were through the doors. Lovely send off! What was supposed to be a nice meal out ended up being a pretty unpleasant experience. Shame as people have said good things about this place but if that is how the staff act then I wouldn't waste your cash there. There was obviously a plan to get people out as early as possible so the staff could finish up and go home, starting with the phone call. Shocking experience all round.

As we live in frome this is always our go to place however last minute we decided to book another new restaurant in town for 8pm unaware that it was Valentine’s Day. Long story short, we didn’t get seated in the new restaurant so in desperation for food we walked into Castellos and were greeted by the owners and staff with big smiles and welcomes. The place was super busy and fully booked. We were asked to come back in 30 minutes until a space opened up and we were seated straight away on our return. . The members of staff were calm and relaxed and are a well oiled machine. Each knows what needs to be done and they work together to give you a good night with good food and atmosphere. We were served really quickly and attentively . Castellos is 5 stars all round. it is fantastic and completely deserved. Highly recommend.

Great place to stop after a walk and have a coffee and a sweet. Mocha was delicious, not watery at all. You must try their coffee and walnut cake. It's amazing!!! I recommend it and will come again with my wife.
