We came across this lovely snack shack while having a leisurely drive and really craving a coffee. Great coffee and delicious cakes served by welcoming and friendly ladies. The cute cupboard of goodies was a brilliant addition and I bought some fresh eggs. A great find, highly recommend. Such a lovely setting too.

What a welcome sight!!!! Rainy Tuesday afternoon and the drive had been rather trying, including a somewhat scary 1 in 4 hill. Saw signs and stopped for great cappu and freshly made cheese and pickle barncake and a piece of ginger cake. Plus they cooked a sausage for the doggo 🐶. It’s literally in the middle of nowhere but on the way to somewhere.

We loved it here! The cakes are delicious so we went back several times for more to take back to our cottage. Staff were great & the surrounding scenery beautiful. Set by a stream with several tables next to it. Very cute!

A lovely little surprise pit-stop in the middle pretty remote Cumbria - I had a spectacular blondie and a lovely coffee. Could sit by the river and watch birds diving for bugs. Wish there were more places like this! :)

I came here (my second visit) after a walk around Devoke Water in the morning. I had a coffee and a millionaire's slice, which had the perfect ratio of shortbread/caramel/chocolate! Luckily the rain had gone off so I sat on one of the picnic benches, used the loo and then - sadly - started my long drive home. It's lovely to be able to support these truly local, family-run places.

I stopped here for a cuppa during a day out driving - a delightful spot with seats by a stream. When I got home I realised my purse was missing - panic stations, of course. I rang the cafe in the vain hope...and sure enough the proprietress rang me back to say she had it - what a wondetful woman!! I cannot say enough thanks to her - and by the way, the cuppa and lemon drizzle cake were delicious....

Really tasty home made sweet treats. We bought a apple crumble slice and a blonde. Both tasted fantastic. Definitely worth a stop if you are driving by it

Sounded great. Made a (shortish) detour to visit. Cupboard by roadside with maybe a dozen items of stock availbale but no sign of a shed or a hot drink on a Monday morning in late February (for the record, beautiful sunny morning). No indication of opening hours, seasonal or otherwise, at site or online (that I could see/find). Trip Advisor suggested was open. Next time we are passing maybe.

Pass this place regularly but I'm very early or late and closed, the food is superb, ham sandwich like my Mum used to make, beautiful carved, not wafer thin. Cumberland Sausage next time I think! Worth bobbing in

In the middle of nowhere, it's an OMG moment, if your lost 🙈! A small place that sells everything you would expect, bacon, sausage, sandwiches, cakes, hot and cold drinks. Immaculate and clean. Toilet! Friendly service and the lovely Holly, who is so helpful.

we weren’t actually planning to stop here. We woke up late and had to check out of our cottage so didn’t have time for our morning cup of tea. When we saw this sign, we stopped and had a tea and cofee along with an amazing selection of home made cakes 🍰. Will definitely come here again, lovely people and service with lots of seating a lovely stream.

We visited out of hours, so were treated to the Snack Cupboard. What a brilliant idea of rural diversification providing 24x7 snacks to weary travellers. We drove, but if I’d cycled up any of the hills to get there I’d be really pleased to see this. A brilliant range of cakes and drinks available with payment via an honesty box. The Malteser tiffin was awesome
