The Cronx Bar in Croydon

Unbelievble selection of beers on draft. Visted on sunday evening so a little quiet and closes early at 8pm. But a very nice atmosphere with friendly bar people who know their stuff. Will definetly be back the next time in croydon

The Cronx is a great gem right outside East Croydon, part of Boxpark, offering a variety of beer, both cask and keg! Also, if you are not a beer lover they have lovely cask ciders - normally SeaCider which is very nice(!!), spirits, prosecco and soft drinks. You must try their own beer. Pop up, Kotchin and Entire (on the nitro line!!). The staff are also very helpful if you tell them what you fancy, they will try and find the right drink for you! You even get to a have a few cheeky tasters of what booze they have on!! If you have a CAMRA card, make sure you bring it when you visit, as you get 10% off ales! Result!!

A little time to kill before hotel check in and a half of good bitter hit the spot and good value also.

Clearly benefitting from some more experience as the beers much better than my previous visit and a welcome relief on the hottest day of the year.

Often a pit stop of mine when a pint is needed after a long train journey, and always a good selection of beers, well kept. Speedy service when busy, but what is really nice is decanting from a train and wandering in after the "after work" crowd have departed. Explain to the bar staff what type of ale you fancy, and they will make a recommendation, supply you with a taster, and sometimes tell you the history of it while pouring. No pretensions, no gimmicks, just decent beer, well kept and served by polite and knowledgable staff. What more do you want after a long day?

Great beer, great staff. 10% off for CAMRA members and 15% off if you buy a bottle to take home... seriously, what’s not to like? By the way- this is not a restaurant. It’s a pub. You can, however, bring in your own food from Boxpark (or elsewhere) and eat in.

Great beers and friendly bar, almost like a clubhouse but in no way "clicky". Reasonably priced beers but be prepared as some guest ales are pricey. No in situ toilets but you can walk to the ones in Boxpark no problem. Good place to meet anytime of the drinking day and 10% off if you are a CAMRA member and 10% only on a home match day for Crystal Palace season ticket holders, can't go wrong there and I'll be popping along again sometime very soon. A must visit

down from Leeds on a course from work. Recommended by a friend, I was not disappointed . A nice pint of oyster stout and a friendly welcome. Busy for a Monday night too

I wanted to like this place, I really did. Sent here by the CAMRA app. It looked like it had all the right ingredients for me. Except the beer was awful. I had a pint of their standard bitter. Cloudy and tasted really bad. TCP taste. Saw somebody else leave their pint on the table and leave. Persisted and drank most of it. Took it to the bar. Asked for a pint of Entire stout. Wasn’t asked why I hadn’t finished the first one. The stout wasn’t much better. Yes, I could have said something but, y’know, stranger in a strange land and all. To be honest I don’t understand how a real ale brewery pub can serve beer this bad. Maybe most of their clients drink lager. Shame.

I canny believe how someone can be so arrogant as the barman !! Went in said can I have a taste of a beer please and he said which one you like ? I said blondes, IPA'S please. Then when I picked one he said I didn't say please, to which I replied I did. Then he didn't say ok then, he said no you didn't !!?? So my female friend said that's a bit harsh and he said what him !! No you she said !! So I left without giving him a ear full ,!!! Will never come back !

It has taken be said that the decor is nothing flash, but don’t let that fool you. The choice of drinks (10 kegs with 8 on rotation and 6 cask lines) is fantastic with beer from normally local breweries , but sometimes a bit further afield. Friendly knowledgeable staff and fairly priced means repeat visits are required!!!!

Had a really lovely evening in Cronx yesterday - staff are great and friendly, really nice atmosphere and obviously good beer. I always recommend Cronx to people new to Croydon, a great place for a quick pint or a long evening :)

Lovely little pub shame there’s not more specialist breweries around London like it! Joe I think if I recall correctly really knew his stuff when it came to hops. 100% recommend, some ales were a little pricy but worth the expense.

The staff were very helpful and friendly and they have a great range of beer, very happy with my visit!

Great place in its own right but really good to get some drinks and then enjoy the wide food offerings of the rest of box park. Really friendly staff. Lovely little place

Knowledgeable staff, good range of beers (and CAMRA discount for 'proper ale'). Some beer isn't as good as others to my palate, but the people I went with preferred their beer to mine- so something for everyone, and everyone happy!

The Cronx Bar is a little treasure. The beers are of a very high standard, my favourite is Kotchin, and the bar staff informative and friendly. We have visited several times and have been very impressed with the selection of beers. Keep up the good work!

Always a good range of beers here, and you can take them in plastics round to the main bit of box park if there's something on the screen you're watching. Gets busy, so you can't always get a seeat.

If u lyk real ale & real peple then there is NOWERE beta south of the river that i hav found! This place is a diamond in the ruff! Surely the ONLY reason any1 would go 2 the boxpark at east Croydon! Ther beer is so good & £3:50 a pint is lyk 2003 price 4 the best ale ur guna get now days! Staff r all well frendly & know alot about the beers they r selling. It's location makes the N68 bus stop on its door step the best bus stop in grater London! Get on it!

Cronx beer is excellent and at £3.50 a pint it's a bargain! This is my new local. It easy to buy pints and drink them in the main boxpark bit, if you wanted to.

One of a growing breed of microbrewery bars. Some good, some not so good and whilst this little bar is fine I have to say the standard Bitter tastes just like many micro bitters i.e. Tastes like my old home brew. I think a lot are swayed by the concept and perhaps a more critical look at the product is required but hey each to their own and it might be me that's wrong!

Loads of beers, ales and craft beers to choose from. Obviously stocks spirits for anyone that doesn't want to sample the beers on offer.

Had walked passed this pub a number of times and it is busy at the peak commuter times. Excellent service by knowledgeable staff. no problems with tasters either! Great selection of great beers. Part of box Park so option to drink in or move out to the main area.

Like many people I am tempted by the convenience of Box Park in Croydon, and I am delighted that part of the deal is a really good outlet serving excellent beer. All too often pop-ups serve only lager.

Stumbled upon this little gem whilst having my first look round the East Croydon Boxpark. It's a simple, small bar that sells amongst other tipples, craft beer and a good variety of it. The bar staff are knowledgeable, friendly and chatty. With a variety of people from all walks of life popping in and out, it has a good vibe. A perfect little spot to get your night going or grab a quick beer on the way home. Their own 'Standard' is a nice beer and rolls in at just £3.50 a pint. Quite simply, what's not to like about this little booze cavern? Put it on your list when you're out and about. I'll be back!

Part of the Boxpark complex, the entrance is in Dingwall Road. The bar decorated in a very unique fashion - cut down scaffold boards and old metallic objects, a fantastic USP. A great choice of locally brewed beers, I think around 15 ales & lagers. Well worth a visit and a few ales.
