The Light Bar Caffe in Croydon

Over charged on bill and asked for a refund. Manager agreed to give me what was due but never refunded the money and is now ignoring my emails. Total non transparency with transaction and not run in a professional way.

Came in, and wasn’t particularly busy. Sat for 5 minutes before we got a menu, 10 minutes later they ask what we want, asked for bottomless brunch. She said ‘ooh I’ll have to check’ then disappeared. After watching 2/3 more customers get served we left. They just watched us leave, no apology. Probably would’ve spent more £ than any other customer too!

Amazing place! The food is delicious, caters for every needs, the staff is super friendly. Highly recommend if you’re looking for something special in one of the coolest venue.

Great decor. But the place was very chilly. Had to wait a long time for our breakfasts. The food was good (not excellent) but soon went cold due to the temperature in this place. Also felt we were invading the staff members family gathering.

Absolutely fabulous bar! A few of my girl friends went for lunch on Saturday. The food was amazing and the staff so friendly and knowledgeable. They couldn't do enough to make sure we were happy. Although it is quite a large space it feels really cosy. Cannot recommend highly enough.

Lovely place, friendly and helpful staff and beautiful decor. I’ve been there with friends and family on few occasions and every time was top service. The price is fair for the quality of food and drinks

They were reallly rude and when I managed to get my food it was very cold and when I asked if they could heat they responded very rudely and said no.

I was in the light for a excellent breakfast very clean good service superb place ..... people there are so nice... I'll be back soon with my family and friends..... thank you...

I had a terrible experience here. The breakfast was absolutely disgusting. Eggs were over done. Hash browns burnt. The owner was very rude. People from this area has said that they are racist as well.

Have visited numerous times for brunch and lunch. Food is always of a very high standard even when busy. Reasonably priced and a great asset to Coulsdon. More recently I’ve also been in the evening with friends. Cocktails are fantastic and great service even when they’re super busy!

I love the light bar. It’s always amazing, whether it be for cocktails in the evening or breakfast at the weekends. The food is brilliant. The coffee is delicious. And the cocktails are fantastic and expertly made.

This place is never open. Have tried to support a small business so many times but they make up their opening hours as they go along. Really frustrating.

Came here for a work lunch and the food was perfect for lunch and drinks were good. Was served by Lauren and Nina and they were incredibly kind and helpful. Really attentive and made the experience really enjoyable. Thanks again guys ! ❤️ T2FIT will be back soon!

Went for lunch. Had a rubbish time. The bagels are just bought from the supermarket, the chicken was dry and old, and there was a tiny slice of Chorizo. Terrible value for money. The toilet had no soap and the hand dryer was like an old man coughing on your hands. Avoid at lunch time.

I hadn't been here for awhile. The last time was over a year ago and it was great. This time around I was so disappointed. Ordered a pancake and coffee. Firstly the coffee was cold and lacked depth which was disappointing. The pancakes were drenched in Nutella and was dense and hard to cut through. It did not taste fresh at all and looked nothing like the pictures they post.

We popped in for Brunch, lovely selection of Breakfasts available, also they do toasties and wraps. We had scrambled eggs with some crispy bacon and sourdough toast.. very nice it was too.... excellent service, very friendly. Will definately visit again.

Food was cooked poorly. I had eggs Benedict, bacon was over cooked and eggs were not runny. No supply of sauce on the table, service was very slow and the value for money could be a lot better. A lot to work on

Severely understaffed, could barely focus on my meal due to the staff running around like headless chickens. The food was also mediocre.

This place is amazing to eat and great value for what you have! The first one here with my boyfriend A few months back and it’s really good value for money for the coffee especially as down the road you have café Nero and they are rip-off. Its great to support a small business as well and they definitely show how much they put into their food and decor. It feels very comfortable, friendly and good vibes. Definitely my new favorite place to go in coulsdon. Today I went for afternoon for my grandmas birthday and I was really impressed, it was just a cute lil lunch, good portions and great for people with allergies or intolerances. So accommodating for it. ( I am gluten and dairy free) even my portions were normal, didn’t ask too many questions, just accommodated to my needs. Which is amazing. Will be coming back very soon.

We come here nearly every week for a working lunch and coffee. The staff are always friendly and very quick to serve us. There us a huge variety of food choices too and all great quality. The coffee comes with a little biscuit which is a nice touch. Thanks Light Bar, we think you are great!

Went for breakfast. Food was fine but it took so long to get it! They also forgot the cutlery & didn't offer any sauces! Frequent door opening made the place cold too! Waitress was very pleasant but seemed overworked.

We went there for the first time for breakfast on a Saturday morning at about 9.15am and the restaurant was empty which set alarm bells ringing. We ordered a special which is basically a full english breakfast at 7.95 which comes with toast and an americano coffee. We didn't read the small print well enough and ordered a latte with the breakfast. It wasn't until we left we realised we had been charged for the breakfast and a latte separately. We left ripped off because they should have charged us 7.95 for the breakfast and either warned us it comes with an americano or charged us the difference in price between a latte and an americano. The breakfast is nothing to sing about and there are plenty of places doing better food for less money.

First time eating here and I was so pleasantly surprised by how pretty this place is and how GOOD the food is!!! From start to end this was a lovely experience: lovely staff, incredible location and delicious food (and no, the eggs didn’t come with ketchup😜) Will definitely come back here again!!

The staff are friendly and accommodating. Just a bit disappointed with my order today as the egg benedict was over cooked and it was swimming with the Hollandaise sauce.

Shaby sheek and rusticly decorated coffee stop. Very casual and a bit on the indifferent side but the service and quality made up for the decorative and comfort short comings. A very small menu but I ordered the rather uninspiring coronation chicken which came with a very tasty side salad, well seasoned and dressed the sandwich was packed with chicken which was tasty and filling. The coffee was excellent. Great stop for a rest on your way round town.

I walked past this place a few times since it opened believing it was a only a cocktail bar and only recently realised it served breakfast. They have a very nice range of options and the couple of times I’ve been in, breakfast has been very nice , served by friendly staff who are doing their best with the Covid restrictions (not always helped by some of their customers) and it’s a nice place to sit . Bigger than most of the other options in Coulsdon but still has a nice atmosphere.

Evening a bar, morning a breakfast place. In both function I was satisfied. Tasty avocado bagel and cocktail happy hours on Thursday evenings.

Brilliant cocktail bar - the espresso martinis and pornstar martinis are delicious. Fantastic staff who were very helpful. Great caffe in the day too.

We had to wait absolute age for our breakfasts and the scrambled eggs had not been mixed properly ,leaving it inedible . On the plus side the service was ok and the sausage was good quality . But we would not return.
