The Crispy Duck in South Northamptonshire

Called up to place an order, was told they weren't taking any more orders at 7 pm . Asked if I could walk in to place an order, I was told no. This is the only takeaway in Hanslope. pointlessly, if you can't order any food. Ordered from my old Chinese restaurant in Heelands, no issues. Puts me off even trying next time!

We ordered a takeaway on the recommendation of a neighbour. The food was delivered within the promised time, and it was hot and tasty. And delivery was free! We will definitely be ordering from this restaurant again.

This is not the nearest Chinese to our home but is by far the best. The food is fresh & delicious and the service is second to none

Simply the worst Chinese meal we have had in a long long time, reminded me of bad early Chinese take aways in the1970’s. The mixed hors D’oeuvres were totally dried out and looked like they been left in a food warmer for hours! The ribs were like shoe leather. The last thing the duck was was crispy, it was a dried out lump covered in grease, we’d ordered an extra set of pancakes, they’d shoved all 3 packs screwed up into a small container so they had formed a glutenous mess all stuck together I’d not have paid £10 for it let alone the £36.50 we did, just shows how they pay for all the flash cars parked out front with their personalized registrations Serve cheap crap at highly inflated prices, AVOID AT ALL COSTS!

Have used the Crispy Duck many times. Tonight was disgusting! Crispy duck dry and tasteless. Chicken chow mein with no chicken and again tasteless. No longer do free prawn crackers. Disappointed.com!

Had at least 10 takeaways from here, and all very good, was going to put 5 out of 5, but found another in Northampton slightly better who gets a 5/5, still great for a village location

Best Chinese takeaway we’ve tried - hot, fresh and truly delicious! I always choose the Special Curry and it contains beef, pork, chicken and prawns. My partner has the Beef Kung Po and he says it’s the best he’s had. Great service, on time delivery.

We had amazing food & it was great value. We had really gone off Chinese take-always due to some bad experiences, but this place is exceptional with quality food. We had the set meal for 4 which easily did 6, with leftovers for lunch the following day. They also do their own delivery which arrived dead on time with no delivery charge, within a 6 mile radius. Simply the best and we certainly won’t be going anywhere else now.

So glad your open again. We tried on your opening weekend and after 500 attempts we sadly had to give up. You were professional and answered my daughters message apologised and advised us of the ability to pre-order and have a collection time. This is a fantastic idea and worked fantastically. Delivered on time, proper un greasy food what’s going on, no cold congealed mess in an ill fitting container, we might have something here. Ordered crispy duck, special fried rice, pak Choi in oyster sauce, chicken with cashew nuts and sweet and sour chicken balls all were fantastic, I’m defo coming back here, please keep this up your food is really really good. Would recommend some of the other so called Chinese restaurants coming here and seeing how it’s done.

As a resident of Hanslope I appreciate all of the local establishments. They are the heart of the village. The crispy duck is certainly no exception. Many a time we've felt peckish and have turned to the duck for a great takeaway. Service is always spot on and delivery is super quick. Give it a go, you won't be disappointed.

Really wanted to like it as a couple of friends had recommended it, but it didn't live up to expectations. The egg fried rice had an odd soapy flavour but other than that, didn't taste of anything. The crispy chilli beef had very little chilli; I understand that restaurants have to cater for a range of tastes but I would expect chilli beef to have at least a bit of a kick to it! On the plus side, ordering was a painless process, and delivery was friendly and on time. If it wasn't for the fact that delivery is available, I wouldn't be ordering again, but will give them another chance next time I can't collect from my usual restaurant. I'm hoping this isn't their usual standard!

I have ordered from them a few times. Customer Service: The delivery drivers have always been very polite and friendly. The people who take orders on the phone are also very friendly and clear, making ordering very easy. Delivery Times: Most times it arrives in about 30-45 mins. The phone operator will tell you if it is likely to be late. Once the food took a long time to come (about an hour and 45 mins), but we were told there was a delay and this was during peak times on a saturday. Even through it took a while to arrive, it did not taste like it had been sat under a heat lamp, it tasted like they had just made it. This was the only time it has taken more than 45 mins to arrive. One time the food came so quickly we were shocked, it came in about 15 mins, and was a custom order too which made it extra impressive! Food: We love their Yumboxes because you can get exactly what you want. Their serving size is good and the price (although a bit more than other places) is worth it for the quality of food. We have never had a problem with the quality of food- it has always tasted fresh, arrived warm and has been exactly what we ordered. I am vegetarian and have never had an issue with that here. Their vegetarian food is clearly labeled and I have not ever gotten an incorrect order. The Tofu here is amazing. It is cooked really well and is very tasty. It is not slimy or tasteless like some other take outs. If you like tofu this is the best take out in MK for it! My partner got their dry lemon Ribs, he said they tasted amazing, however he only got 4 ribs for ~£6 so he is unlikely to get them again. Overall this is a really good take out place and I would really encourage you to try it out.

Great to have such a good chinese in the village. I love the food and think there has been a recent change as it has become even better. Love the fact they now deliver in the village too. The crispy duck is great and you never have to wait too long. Good value too.

Our usual haunt ... no prawn crackers tasteless beef noodles and tasteless egg fried rice cold chips happy days ! Sweet sour prawns ok who could mess them up 🤷🏻‍♀️🤷🏻‍♀️🤷🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️

We ordered for delivery having just moved to the village. Delivery was really quick and all food was hot and tasted great. My other half has an allergy to egg and ginger (both commonly used in Chinese cooking) and The Crispy Duck were great in accommodating this :)Will definitely be ordering again soon!

Had a menu delivered so thought we would try it out. Ordering and accept card payments making life easy. Nice helpful staff. Was told food would be an hr as we are a bit out of area in fact they were early and have been every time we order which is nice. The food has always been lovely and the choice is great. The delivery drivers are are also friendly don’t just chuck it at you when you open the door like some places. All in all a great service.

Not really a review of the restaurant, just a review of their take-away food. Have had several deliveries from this eatery and have always been pleased with the food. While it's billed as a Chinese restaurant, there are a number of other options which add to the plentiful selection. In particular, I'm a big fan of the Korean sweet chili chicken and the chicken katsu, which has a pleasantly spicy curry sauce. Nice that the noodle dishes can be ordered with udon noodles or vermicelli, ideal for those days that you want some comfort food. I'm sure, on a menu as long as they have, there is bound to be something I'm not a fan of, but the fact that so far I've enjoyed everything I've ordered, encourages me to order new things each time.Gladly recommend this establishment

I was pleasantly surprised with my food from this takeaway. A bit high in price for a village Chinese but they do deliver. Great selection of food, especially for vegetarians. Slight criticism is that my aubergine curry wasn’t cooked for long enough and the veg was a bit raw. Seriously worth a try. It took me 20 mins to get through but that’s a good sign!

My girlfriend and I order collection from here on a fairly regular basis and you really can't go wrong.

The crispy duck is a really great takeaway treat. No matter what I order it is always extremely tasty. Tonight was a bit of a Sunday special with actual crispy duck, Hoisin sauce, sliced veggies and Chinese pancakes. Lovely.

Was really looking forward to trying this place after my sister recommended it. I am vegetarian and have been for 20 years so I asked for VEGETARIAN Singapore noodles with tofu. Upon collection everything seemed okay and my tofu noodles looked good, it was only after eating around 10 mouthfuls that I was horrified to notice that my “vegetarian” noodles were FULL of little bits of various meats. Chicken, beef, prawn etc. like normal Singapore noodles. I was kicking myself for not checking through the noodles properly but I had only assumed the bits were tofu and egg. I had also put curry sauce and seaweed on top, so hadn’t noticed immediately. I was really upset and mortified that I had eaten meat and felt sick and sad for the rest of the evening. Crispy Duck did replace my noodles with vegetarian ones which did taste nice. But by then, I was a bit put off them. I know vegetarianism is my choice but if this was an allergy and someone was allergic to nuts/gluten, a mistake like this may cost someone much more than just feeling sick.

We had a selection of food with my cousin and Mum & Dad. Everything was really good and they deliver although it was only to the next village in Hartwell. A very tasty meal and not much food was left over.

I recently ate my first take away from the crispy duck and it was amazing. This chinese is very well known and raved about in the local villages and now I know why. The food was very good portion sizes and extremely tasty, it was slightly more expensive than other chinese take aways I've had but definitely worth the money. I will certainly eat here again ad the staff were so friendly and nice.

Having a Chinese in the village is very handy - but we only tend to use the crispy duck when we don’t want to venture out.

Chow mein (2 sabores) fue quemada más allá de comestible. . Se podía oler. fue quemada durante la apertura del contenedor. . absolutamente repugnante las tortitas de pato crujientes estaban aguados y enganchado y un elemento que faltaba en la orden completamente. Después de varias tomar siempre con la familia y amigos decepcionó a decir que no regresaremos. Los precios han aumentado, la comida es horrible y peor que platos favoritos ya no son servidos. Lo que nos pareció que era una joya tiene resultó ser una enorme decepción. Que pena por ti pato crujiente. Tú mismo. decepción. . Gran tiempo.

Have used this takeaway for several months and the food is fantastic,and it seems to get better every time they also do a great delivery service and the staff are very pleasant. Give it a go you won't be disappointed 😀

Recientemente se trasladaron a la zona y un amigo nos dijo antes de que nos trasladamos que a poca distancia a pie de la mejor pizzería chino que ha probado. Y tenía razón. La comida es deliciosa. Tan bueno que muchas veces la gente venga a visitarnos a recoger a China. Merece la pena el viaje en coche si no son locales.
