Ordered delivery. Took 35mins to arrive, quicker than they said! Win. The food was great, reasonably priced with large portions. I'd definitely return and recommend to other locals looking for take out Chinese

Just stuck away from the main road this was ideal for a take away. Seemed very bust whilst I was there lots of people coming in and collecting food. I had been excited to have a Chinese first for a very long time for me but was left slightly disappointed, there was way too much pineapple in my sweet and sour chicken Hong Kong style and the chicken only just seemed cooked. Maybe as it was a Saturday night it was slight rushed. Will have to try again and see if it has improved another time.

Food was excellent, slightly different to our usual place, but none the less very tasty. Service was exemplary, a friendly welcome, and pleasant farewell. Over all nothing but compliments for this place. We will use again.

Awful food quality and not the best customer service.. my rice was so greasy It had the ability to slide around on my plate. I asked for half a portion of Chicken balls and the lady laughed.. rather rude.... I some how ended up paying extra, I double checked the menu and still can't work out the difference. Would not recommend if you are a single person or if you have taste budds.

I dont normally "do" Chinese food mainly because I'm not too adventurous with food. However what I got was really nice and filling and the staff were lovely too.

Visited here following recommendations from neighbours/friends, but we will not be returning. The rice was lovely (egg-fried and special-fried), however all other dishes were not very nice. The crispy chilli beef and the sweet and sour chicken hong kong style were soggy- these should have a crispier coating. The flavour of the sweet and sour chicken was okay though. The chicken in black bean sauce was also soggy and lacked taste. Do not think that this is value for money costing close to £30, and the delivery time was an hour. Such a shame considering heard lovely things in the past.

Tried to order a meal, the first time it seemed like a family row was happening, the second time they answered the telephone and nothing.The other phone number you got a reply that the voicemail was full and therefore you could not get through.Some way to run a business, I shall certainly pass my concerns on to my friends and workmates!

I ordered a take away for collection tonight to be collected at 7pm. Unfortunately my daughter got stuck in the traffic caused by the accident on the A5 roundabout. The staff were so kind and helpful. They reassured me that our food would be cooked freshly when my daughter arrived. They even called me at 7.45 to make sure we got our take away freshly cooked and to check on my daughters expected arrival. When my daughter finally arrived at 8pm, they offered her and my niece and nephew a free drink and gave us a freshly cooked meal. I am so impressed with the service. What a lovely experience! Food was great too. Thank you to your staff.

Great tasting Chinese food and reasonably priced

I ordered: chicken satay - tough and stringyStir fry tofu with mixed vegetables- barely any veg. A few onions, one piece of mange tout and a few mushrooms, hardly mixed vegetables. Was very bland. Pineapple fried rice - they brought me chicken fried rice. My husband ordered egg fried rice with beef with bamboo shoots and mushrooms which was tasteless. Really disappointing and won’t be ordering from here again.

I very rarely leave reviews only if something is very good or very bad! If the lack of stars did not give it away let me clarify... the Chinese takeaway we ordered was very very very bad! I am almost certain that all the food was bought in and thrown in a frier. Every bit of food was uniform in size, shape and taste! I want to take this opportunity to apologise to my wife as it was my idea to order from there. I feel so strongly about this, I want to track down the people who gave this restaurant 4+ stars and expose there for the New Delhi Bots they probably are, or buy them a meal, because if anyone else this world needs one, it’s definitely them. Unbelievable!

Our take away tonight was amazing. Great taste and plenty of it. Try the Szechuan Prawns with garlic & hot pepper sauce - delicious and plenty of chicken in the chicken fried rice also.

Ordered beef in black beans and a side of bean sprouts which were that over cooker were not eatable! Beef was so chewey! Second time trying here won’t try again !

This Chinese take-away delivers too.The food from 'Bamboo Cottage' is superb & the staff are very accommodating (if for example you want something 'off menu' or 'MSG free').My family have been ordering food from here since it 1st. opened.The Bamboo Cottage has always had 5* from 'SNC' for hygiene.

The vegetable in “Vegetarian Chow mein” weren’t fresh and tasted like have been out of date. The noodles were BURNED and the dish tasted really bad. Disappointment!

This was the third time we tried here after a poor meal. Three strikes and we will no longer go back. Satay chicken was raw tonight. Egg fried rice was bland and lacking in egg and flavour. They also need to change the way they make their Chow mein. It is like no other Chinese takeaway or restaurant that I have been to. More like soup and definitely not with crispy noodles as written in the menu. I am amazed that they have been going for so long and amazed at all the good reviews! Surely we couldn't have been this unlucky 3 times in a row...?

Good food, but you now have to spend £15 minimum to use a card, not good when there's only one of you.....

On Sunday 21/01/18 my partner and I ordered a Chinese take away from Bamboo Cottage.We ordered:No. 7 statay chicken skewers £5.90No. 95 sweet and sour chicken hong kong style £5.50No. 114 beef chow mein £5.50No. 150 chips £2.30Upon getting it home and sitting down to eat we quickly realised that there was something very wrong with the satay chicken, it was off, the texture was very mushie and had a very strange taste. This totally put us off our take away meal which was extremely disappointing. I decided to phone and complain which I don't normally do. I spoke to a chap that identified himself as Tim, I explained the problem and received an apologise and an offer of a free meal next time which was somewhat what I expected. We did not have a further meal that night because the thought of a replacement had put us off. Tim said when you order again, explain to whoever you speak to that you spoke to me and everything will be sorted out for you. Later that night and into the following day this caused us both to have an upset stomach, something was really not right with the food.On Friday 26/01/18 after a long day, we decided to have a Chinese take away rather than cook ourselves as we were also due to go out. I called up Bamboo Cottage and spoke to a female, placed our order and proceeded to explain the conversation with Tim the other night and that he had said to me that we were entitled to a free take away.I had ordered the following...No. 95 sweet and sour chicken hong kong style £5.50No. 114 beef chow mein £5.50No. 150 chips £2.30No. 58 Crispy Lamb £7.00The conversation was difficult, I found it hard for her to understand what it was I was saying, she continued to say that this had not been discussed with her and that she had no knowledge of this. After a while of getting no where, I asked to speak with Tim, I was told although he was there he was in the kitchen. After a little longer I was getting very frustrated, I told the female that I did not want the order at all now and that she can cancel it. My partner was not impressed and decided to call them back and insisted that she speak with Tim. After a very long and exhausting conversation Tim refused to honour what he had originally said he would do, he now offered only a refund of £5.50 for the satay chicken. Throughout he insisted it was all cooked from fresh, I find this somewhat hard to be the case, he also laughed and constantly over spoke my partner. My partner also tried to explain how the food had affected us all of which Tim was not interested in listening to.We still have the chicken, which has been frozen and we have this evening reported the takeaway to the food standards authority and local authority. This level of service is totally unacceptable. All for what was only £16.92, the cost is nothing in the grand scheme of things, it is the attitude and behaviour which is not acceptable.Personally I would avoid this take away and encourage others to do the same.

Last minute option for a takeaway on New Years Eve. Good food, reasonable delivery charge. Has now become first option.

As no one wanted to start cooking at home on a public holiday we drove to collect a takeaway. Range of food is very good. If you live nearer they will deliver but it was interesting to wait while ours was prepared. We chose about ten dishes and almost finished the lot.

This is an ideal place to call upon when you relaise you have no melas left and want a quick, easy takeaway.We have used this service a few times now and have always had a good experience. The orders have always been correct, complimentary prawn crackers and well packaged food, plus your order is usually ready for collection in around 20 minutes.Our last order was special rice, chicken chow mein and satay chicken. The food tasted fresh, piping hot and the meat was a good texture and did not taste rubbery like some takeaways do.The menu is extensive and even caters for those with no sense who want to order chips!

We get takeaways here quite regularly. Always get the same duck with pancakes, S/S chicken Hong Kong style, Chicken noodles , special fried rice. Excellent, fast service, friendly and delicious food. Highly recommend.

Had a delivery recently and found it expensive for what I got, plus I had to pay a £3.00 delivery charge for a local delivery. Delivery used to be included, think this will put a lot of people off

Nice food and very friendly staff. Have eaten from here 3-4 times now and no complaints. Telephone order was wrong once as we were given someone elses meal but it was soon rectified no problem.

Another local favourite, good food and they deliver within 5 mile radius. Generous portions too. Food is cooked to order so sometimes a slight delay but worth the wait. Crispy chicken with chilli and garlic is wonderful.
