Went in last Wednesday with some friends for a mid week lunch. To start the beer line up was incredible and we were spoilt for choice. The amazing bar lady helped us and recommended beers. Then the food was brilliant. Perfect for a mid week lunch meal. Also saw all about their Sunday roasts and other events. Will definitely be back again

Love this place - great community pub, supporting the local cricket club through the summer, and THE best Sunday roasts in west sussex. Without question. Amazing.

This place had never been on my radar and stumbled upon it one Sunday a couple of years back after walking up to Broadwater for a late breakfast, only to find the cafe closed ! Popped in to the cricketer’s on the off chance we could get a table for a roast and struck gold ! The Sunday roast is absolutely out of this world ! I travel the length and breadth of the country and have had more than my fair share of pub roasts and not one even comes close to that of the cricketers, it really is in league all of its own . Have become a regular visitor over the last few years and have worked my way through the menu and every single thing is as amazing as the roasts , the burgers are great and the fish and chips are absolute perfection , the service , the atmosphere and the pub itself are also first class. The cricketers is without question the jewel in worthings crown and I guarantee one visit is all it will take to keep you coming back again and again, if I could give it more stars i absolutely would 👌

Had an amazing time here, service was lovely and the food was great, David one of the chefs came and spoke to us about the food after we had lots of questions, he was so friendly and his love for the good was there to shine,

Moved to the area 6-7 months ago. This is our new local and we love it. Fantastic food with specials that are changed regularly, plenty of seating, lovely staff and a really nice garden to relax in.

Both beers and food are seriously overpriced, unfortunately. The pub has a bit of charm but nowhere near enough to justify the prices, which would make even a Brighton publican blush. There are many better offerings closer toward Worthing Station, about 19 mins walk away.

Had a really tasty home cooked meal here with my dad , the staff are really friendly, the bar was busy with regulars and there's a few different snugs and other areas to sit in. I like the traditional pub decor and there's parking nearby

Had a Sunday roast and the food was the best I've ever had. So delicious 😋 Only downside was the staffing as had to ask to be served and the wait was quite long. But the food definitely made up for it. We will return and highly recommend for a great Sunday roast

This pub is a great find. The food is very good especially the roasts. We've eaten here a few times now and we've never been disappointed. Atmosphere is great, nice fire in winter and great garden in the summer.

Went in to book a room, stayed for lunch. Great food and service, food and drink options were fantastic. So pleased we chose here for our special occasion.

Exactly what you want from a pub that does food. Comfortable, welcoming, very friendly and attentive staff and mouthwatering food. The roast dinner was just so good. Every item (of which there were plenty) on the plate was tasty on its own and so flavoursome as a meal. My husband had the roast pork and the crackling was not only plentiful but cooked in a way that you didn't fear for your teeth! We had sides as well which were equally tasty, and followed it up with Cranachan. We will absolutely be back!

SIMPLY THE BEST! (and I don't say that lightly) As a very fussy northern man I never order roasts at pubs because they always let me down, but this was THE BEST roast I've eaten in many years! The flavour was amazing! the gravy (super important to me) was deep and rich and tasted superb, my pork was dreamy (loads of light, crispy crackling), my wife had beef- also incredible. yorkies with great seasoning, roasties that melted in the mouth and also packed with flavour- even the carrots had great flavour. Every single element was cooked to perfection and packed with taste and, unlike a lot of high-end gastro/fine dining places that serve taste at the expense of portion size, it was a really full plate that filled a big eater like me up. most pubs offer food that looks impressive but doesn't really taste of much, but the chefs here really know what they are doing. The place is just wonderful. the staff were super helpful, friendly and attentive, the atmosphere was warm and welcoming. the other non-roast menu looked really exciting and they even had a great list of non/low alcohol beers and ciders etc for me as I was driving. I can't fault it and I'll be going back whenever I can.

Long time resident of Worthing but first time here. Heard good things about the Sunday roast and we weren't disappointed. The food (beef and lamb chosen) was excellent and it was great to have an assortment of vegetables as part of the standard order. Service was very good from the moment we sat down.The staff were cheerful, efficient and attentive which goes a long way towards adding ot an overall pleasing experience. Excellent.

Visited here passing through and couldn’t believe the size of the pub! Staff friendly, great range of non alcohol drink options and lots of beer on tap. Had a chicken burger - all tasted really fresh, came out fast and service was excellent. Will return!

When the Cricketers reopened (some time ago- it’s not newly refurbished). , the food was excellent.It’s deteriorated and is now basic pub food at High Street Restaurant prices. Not even a toasted bun with burgers and frozen ‘fries’. Service is good and beer’s excellent but expensive. Gardens great in warm weather but the pub’s not worth visiting in the winter. There are far better local pubs and cafes in the local area. Our experience was very disappointing.

Enjoyed a lovely Roast Turkey lunch with all the trimmings. Everything was fresh, & cooked to perfection. Will come back for more.

Went for food with a family group, the food was good pub food and the waiting staff were great but the service at the bar was abysmal. They walked past me 4 times and served others that had just arrived at the bar. Nobody was smiling and although I the Guinness was nice , I don't know if the service would put me off going there.

First time back since they renovated. The cheesy chips are next level good. Like 15 out of 10 good.

Nice atmosphere with the Christmas decorations, it’s warm and cosy. It was busy, probably because the food is delicious but I still got my food really quickly - definitely recommend! I had the rolled lamb, everything was well cooked and very tasty, but most importantly, really good spuds and gravy

Ate here for the first time for a Sunday roast. My God it was amazing! The meat was so tender, great portions and the stuffing was incredible. Would 100% eat here again!! I recommend it to anyone that wants a good old Sunday roast.

First rate Sunday lunch! Dog and family friendly, great vibe of a place. Decent drinks, games and toys *for the kids* and the team made us very welcome. Will be going back again!!!

We visited the Cricketers yesterday in order to enjoy their Mexican specials menu after booking a table on Facebook prior to our arrival. The service was quick at the bar with a good decaf cappuccino which is a rarity these days! Reasonably priced wines and cider for the others in the group, too. The food itself was great, well presented and came quickly. The Dulce de leche cheesecake had rave reviews from both of those who had it, and overall the experience was great, a vast improvement on the prior management in regards to all aspects from food, service and decor. Will be visiting again in the future. 👌

Food took an age. Room was too dark to see anything and service was sparse. Food great but the whole sitting took over two hours.

A great establishment here. The facilities are clean, the staff courteous and a chilled atmosphere. Haven't tried the food but they do have a wide variety of drinks to cater for many tastes. Thank you for having me.

My 1st visit! 🙂 I attended a friend's birthday at the venue. There's a lovely, Large, Family orientated garden at the back. The staff are all welcoming. Very clean. Highly recommended. The prices are very reasonable.

Currently the best pub roast in Worthing. Highly recommend. Good beer selection, great wines, lovely staff. Edit: I've had four roasts here now, and I'm not going to stop any time soon. They've done a really fantastic job. Second edit: I can also now confirm they have the best ploughman's in town.

We popped in for lunch during a busy day of appointments. It wasn't busy but unfortunately the food was taking a while. Unprompted, the staff came to apologize for the delay and offered us a free drink. Food was well worth the wait 😋

Best roast I’ve had in ages and I’m extremely fussy , roast potatoes were crunchy, veg was perfectly cooked and and nice balanced variety, presented well , lamb was slow cooked and flavoursome. Generous portions. Would definitely come back

Hadn't been here since before they had a refurb and I can say that it was worth it! Looks really good. Nice and inviting. Lovely little pub, the staff were really friendly and just got some drinks and snacks and both were very nice. Would recommend. Haven't been here for food but of what I did see it looked very nice!

Excellent meal today for fathers day Excellent service.Only thing I would say is scrap the entertainment the bloke was a pest when your trying to eat your meal.

Wow the prices in this place are insane now! As lovely as the vibe, food and drink selection are now are since the refurb, there’s no justification to £7.20 for a pint. This isn’t a pub in the middle of a city where you expect to pay over the odds like London or Brighton. So it’s unfortunate that this is the case as I know quite a few locals and regulars who are grumbling and going elsewhere. In comparison, a pint of Neck Oil down the road is £5.30 when sport is on.

Nice pub drinks over priced. £20.80 for 2 beers and a bottle of cider. Charging london price for broadwater detracts locals.

I am amazed ! I have lived in worthing 20+ years and driven past a million times however today we walked into be utterly impressed from the front it looks small but once inside its aladins cave there is plenty of seating and a lovely garden out back with heaters and a play area for the kids ! The atmosphere is perfect and the staff lovely !!! You have now gained a loyal customer that will be sure to be back !!!! 👍

It’s a lovely lovely pub but it’s so expensive! £25 for 3 drinks! Also parking a nightmare around Broadwater!

I attend often for the quiz night. Burgers are good. But everything is VERY overpriced. 4.80 for a cheap pump coke. Roughly 15 for a meal, burgers are just about worth it, everything else isn't. Which is why I'll always eat before going now.

Lovely pub but it's not cheap considering it's not in the town centre.

Nearly eight quid for a pint and half of Coke. The pub decor is nice and the pub is cosy. It's just that they charge restaurant prices for pub drinks which IMO is too pricey if you have a family.

Nice pub, pints about average cost, food took quite a while to arrive, 30 minutes for whitebait and a scotch egg is a bit much, but was decent when arrived, chorizo scotch egg was particularly good.

Food is good but could do with more options on the menu as very limited. Service hit and miss, depending on time of day. Have been times when kids are running riot indoors, bit of putting if you go in for a quiet pint.

Our favourite pub in Worthing. The Sunday roast (and everything else we’ve eaten there!) is consistently excellent, there’s always a great atmosphere, and the staff are brilliant too.

Sunday roast was excellent!! However, I found it strange we were seated at the bar for a meal? we were also served by an extremely rude bar staff/waitress, it took a long time for someone to take our order, I politely asked her and she rolled her eyes and replied “yes, I’ll do it in a minute” came over, not a hello or a smile, very stand off ish attitude, could tell she didn’t want to be there. We asked if my mum could have no butter on her vegetables (as she just doesn’t like it) and she acted as if we had asked for the impossible?! She simply said “but you can’t even taste it” and yet again, rolled her eyes. I was shocked at her attitude, she definitely needs some training in customer service!! The other staff were lovely.

A good refurb, nice beer selection, lots more space, quite a bit more expensive. Food was good when we first ate there. Disappointed on last visit that the kitchen doesn't serve after 9pm but there was no obvious signage on the menu or in the pub. We arrived 8ish, had a couple of drinks/looked at menu and tried to order a meal about 9.01-2 pm after a wait of a few mins to be served at the bar, and were refused. Ended up in Curry House over the road which was delicious! Have noticed that the kitchen times are on Google but can't see on website. Would definitely suggest serving times could be made clear on the menu at least in future, as if they were we'd have definitely ordered in time.

Had a nice Fish and Chips there last night which was reasonably priced. But buyers beware!!!! A large glass of white wine set me back at almost £13.00. I am really shocked at this. The wine was OK but not worth that. Not happy

First time in here despite living in the area for years. What a cracking pub. It was warm and cozy with the fires on and it's got one of the best beer selections around. The food was also brilliant. Portion sizes were huge and very tasty. Will definitely be coming back again.
