The Cricketers Worthing in Worthing

We visited the Cricketers yesterday in order to enjoy their Mexican specials menu after booking a table on Facebook prior to our arrival. The service was quick at the bar with a good decaf cappuccino which is a rarity these days! Reasonably priced wines and cider for the others in the group, too. The food itself was great, well presented and came quickly. The Dulce de leche cheesecake had rave reviews from both of those who had it, and overall the experience was great, a vast improvement on the prior management in regards to all aspects from food, service and decor. Will be visiting again in the future. 👌

Food took an age. Room was too dark to see anything and service was sparse. Food great but the whole sitting took over two hours.

Lovely place to spend time with friends and family... Staff and service excellent despite being very busy.

A great establishment here. The facilities are clean, the staff courteous and a chilled atmosphere. Haven't tried the food but they do have a wide variety of drinks to cater for many tastes. Thank you for having me.

My 1st visit! 🙂 I attended a friend's birthday at the venue. There's a lovely, Large, Family orientated garden at the back. The staff are all welcoming. Very clean. Highly recommended. The prices are very reasonable.

What an exceptional place. Friendly, welcoming staff, great beer selection and top shelf spirits. Didn't eat, but the food coming out of the kitchen looked and smelled amazing... Can't wait to return soon.

Currently the best pub roast in Worthing. Highly recommend. Good beer selection, great wines, lovely staff. Edit: I've had four roasts here now, and I'm not going to stop any time soon. They've done a really fantastic job. Second edit: I can also now confirm they have the best ploughman's in town.

We popped in for lunch during a busy day of appointments. It wasn't busy but unfortunately the food was taking a while. Unprompted, the staff came to apologize for the delay and offered us a free drink. Food was well worth the wait 😋

Best roast I’ve had in ages and I’m extremely fussy , roast potatoes were crunchy, veg was perfectly cooked and and nice balanced variety, presented well , lamb was slow cooked and flavoursome. Generous portions. Would definitely come back

Hadn't been here since before they had a refurb and I can say that it was worth it! Looks really good. Nice and inviting. Lovely little pub, the staff were really friendly and just got some drinks and snacks and both were very nice. Would recommend. Haven't been here for food but of what I did see it looked very nice!

Excellent meal today for fathers day Excellent service.Only thing I would say is scrap the entertainment the bloke was a pest when your trying to eat your meal.

Wow the prices in this place are insane now! As lovely as the vibe, food and drink selection are now are since the refurb, there’s no justification to £7.20 for a pint. This isn’t a pub in the middle of a city where you expect to pay over the odds like London or Brighton. So it’s unfortunate that this is the case as I know quite a few locals and regulars who are grumbling and going elsewhere. In comparison, a pint of Neck Oil down the road is £5.30 when sport is on.

Nice pub drinks over priced. £20.80 for 2 beers and a bottle of cider. Charging london price for broadwater detracts locals.

I am amazed ! I have lived in worthing 20+ years and driven past a million times however today we walked into be utterly impressed from the front it looks small but once inside its aladins cave there is plenty of seating and a lovely garden out back with heaters and a play area for the kids ! The atmosphere is perfect and the staff lovely !!! You have now gained a loyal customer that will be sure to be back !!!! 👍

It’s a lovely lovely pub but it’s so expensive! £25 for 3 drinks! Also parking a nightmare around Broadwater!

I attend often for the quiz night. Burgers are good. But everything is VERY overpriced. 4.80 for a cheap pump coke. Roughly 15 for a meal, burgers are just about worth it, everything else isn't. Which is why I'll always eat before going now.

Lovely pub but it's not cheap considering it's not in the town centre.

Nearly eight quid for a pint and half of Coke. The pub decor is nice and the pub is cosy. It's just that they charge restaurant prices for pub drinks which IMO is too pricey if you have a family.

Nice pub, pints about average cost, food took quite a while to arrive, 30 minutes for whitebait and a scotch egg is a bit much, but was decent when arrived, chorizo scotch egg was particularly good.

Food is good but could do with more options on the menu as very limited. Service hit and miss, depending on time of day. Have been times when kids are running riot indoors, bit of putting if you go in for a quiet pint.

Sunday roast was excellent!! However, I found it strange we were seated at the bar for a meal? we were also served by an extremely rude bar staff/waitress, it took a long time for someone to take our order, I politely asked her and she rolled her eyes and replied “yes, I’ll do it in a minute” came over, not a hello or a smile, very stand off ish attitude, could tell she didn’t want to be there. We asked if my mum could have no butter on her vegetables (as she just doesn’t like it) and she acted as if we had asked for the impossible?! She simply said “but you can’t even taste it” and yet again, rolled her eyes. I was shocked at her attitude, she definitely needs some training in customer service!! The other staff were lovely.

Our favourite pub in Worthing. The Sunday roast (and everything else we’ve eaten there!) is consistently excellent, there’s always a great atmosphere, and the staff are brilliant too.

Sunday roast! YUMMY that has got to of been the best roast I have had out in a long long time. It was very busy in there and I would recommend booking a table. Will definitely be going back. Average price for a Sunday roast!

Great pub warm fires going, huge beer selection great staff. Had the Ploughmans for lunch and it was a great 10 pounds well spent.

A good refurb, nice beer selection, lots more space, quite a bit more expensive. Food was good when we first ate there. Disappointed on last visit that the kitchen doesn't serve after 9pm but there was no obvious signage on the menu or in the pub. We arrived 8ish, had a couple of drinks/looked at menu and tried to order a meal about 9.01-2 pm after a wait of a few mins to be served at the bar, and were refused. Ended up in Curry House over the road which was delicious! Have noticed that the kitchen times are on Google but can't see on website. Would definitely suggest serving times could be made clear on the menu at least in future, as if they were we'd have definitely ordered in time.

Favourite place for a Sunday Roast. A vibrant and lovely pub, always has some music or entertainment on. So happy this is my local.

Had a nice Fish and Chips there last night which was reasonably priced. But buyers beware!!!! A large glass of white wine set me back at almost £13.00. I am really shocked at this. The wine was OK but not worth that. Not happy

First time in here despite living in the area for years. What a cracking pub. It was warm and cozy with the fires on and it's got one of the best beer selections around. The food was also brilliant. Portion sizes were huge and very tasty. Will definitely be coming back again.

Christmas eve dinner (booking is needed).. great selection of drinks,especially wines..great wines too!. Now as for the food..probably the tastiest roast turkey i have ever had. Plenty of potatoes,veg,etc. Piping hot and full of flavour. Staff are smiley and very efficient,even when very busy. Well done to the lovely manageress too you run a very tight ship indeed.top marks.🤩🤩

The food was great however, they have far too many tables for the members of staff to service... also check that your not seated near garden door.. every few minutes the smokers are in and out... not great in the winter. The poor seviice due to the waiting time spoils the good food..

We met for a friends 40th today. I was amazed at the change in the place it’s been over 10 years since I have been. The food was lovely and staff were extremely accommodating.

Paid £4.80 for a pint of Diet Coke from the gun, which wasn’t even that nice. I would have refused the drink but the member of staff gave me my 20p change from a fiver and then disappeared, obviously I thought it was a mistake. I had to find another member of staff to ask how much a pint of coke is… Honestly shocked- and see no justification for it being that much. Nearly £5 for a pint of diet coke from the gun.

Since the revamp, it looks a lot better. Clearly, the owners understand what people are after in a pub. The bar staff were great, they knew their products and were able to advise accordingly yo your budget.

This place has become very popular and is great for a night out or just to pop in for a drink. Bit expensive but it's worth it.

Absolutely delicious food. Generous portions. Lovely staff.

This was a nice surprise as I thought it was going to be a small sports bar but there was loads of table space in the back and a couple of log fired burning, plus a huge log burner that wasn't lit but it was warm already. We booked a table and unfortunately it was by the back door on a very cold day. So we got blasted with cold every time someone came in and out. However the food was very good. The person serving us said they had no peroni, and when i asked of he had anything similar he said no, yet when my husband asked he listed all of his lagers available on tap so I took a Moretti. I was a little disappointed by my dessert which was not only forgotten, but when it did come it was quite clearly a shop bought dry cold Belgian waffle with some compote. After such a delicious burger I was expecting a fresh waffle I think. The staff were a mixed bag with some looking like they had just woken up and didn't want to be spoken to. While others gladly played around and giggled with my young children.

The food and atmosphere was lovely. The staff worked hard and very friendly and helpful. The only thing to spoil it was the price of the drinks and the wine.

Had a Sunday lunch here a few weeks back and was really impressed. We were recommended to go by a neighbour who had been and said they loved it. We were similarly impressed. We took some friends and enjoyed four roasts, with sides, desserts and drinks. The price was reasonable for the quality, and the food was spot on. The different meats (beef, lamb, pork) were all cooked to perfection, and the vegetables were fantastic, including the Cauliflower cheese that we did pay extra for. The desserts were really tasty and comforting. Our only issue was the time delay between ordering and getting our food which was slightly over an hour, and when ordering some extra drinks, one was forgotten, although was brought out eventually. This is not to say that staff were bad, as it was very busy and they were very friendly and kept apologising for the wait and the forgotten drink. Overall we were very impressed and will definitely be going back for a roast again in the near future!

The cricketers has a much better look and feel since recent refurbishment. Far more space in the bar area and a much more welcoming atmosphere. Bar is currently decorated for Halloween and looks great. Staff are friendly and attentive too. Price for beer still feels a little steep compared with other places locally.

Edit: been back since and it’s even better. Easily my favourite place for a Sunday roast in worthing. Lovely team and will keep coming back. Lovely lunch. Staff were stretched as it was busy but they were so nice and made us very welcome! The drinks offer has really improved since new ownership. Looking forward to coming back!

Can not fault the food in anyway, was by far the best roast we have had in a long while. Whilst everyone was kind and polite, the service does need a little work Atmosphere was great, so lovely to see families and friends spending a Sunday afternoon together. Decor is on trend and very relaxing.

Made us wait outside as it was 8 minutes until our booking. Would it have hurt to say take a seat we'll be with you shortly? Tables too close together, sat in what was clearly a corridor. Roasts not as advertised on website. Ordered starters which never came. Roasts were delicious, but desserts limited and the one we chose, not available. Server lovely but clearly embarrassed by our poor experience. Free WiFi. Dog friendly

Since the refit, this place is amazing. The food is always amazing and they do offer quite a range of GF food too. The pub itself is very spacious. We have never found it a problem to get somewhere to sit/eat/drink etc, and they have an extensive range of drinks on offer which change frequently. So you'll not be bored of the same old thing all the time. There is a huge beer garden at the back for more seating and they have very recently opened their pizza oven place for freshly made stone baked pizza. There is also an ice cream stand which is popular with the kids (which brings me to 4 stars for atmosphere. There is a playground in the beer garden which isn't massive but kids will make their own fun. the trouble is whenever we visit there always seems to be a group of kids whom are practically feral, running around screaming I can deal with but throwing car tires off the climbing apparatus, laying old broken timber across the fence really ruins the fun. Sadly the parents are too busy talking or playing on the phones to realize this

Roast dinner was excellent. I had the lamb and really enjoyed it. One or two mistakes when taking order, but all got sorted without fuss.

Have not been to this pub in many years, but very glad we tried it again. The food was great (we had the Sunday roast), the staff were very friendly & the alcohol selection was great. Would recommend

No disable loo and full of steps plus non alcoholic drinks were over priced

Had a funeral do for about 24 people. The new room is clean and lovely. The food was OK but ALL contained spices etc which didn't suit everyone. The waiters were confused serving wrong drinks. The layout is totally non friendly for disabled people let alone wheelchairs. There are no disabled toilets, and steps everywhere.

Went for the Sunday roast after a night out! Great rustic old pub with great beers and condiments to offer. Staff were friendly and the roast was exquisite. Reasonably priced and delicious. Recommend if you love a good Sunday with friends or family

The Cricketers has been recently refurbished to great effect. New menu and a large selection of beers/wine etc.. Loads of seating and a large garden including outside kitchen (used mainly during events). Very professional quiz on Wednesday evenings. Well worth a try.

Great place to relax on a Sunday afternoon with a few great beers - excellent selection too.

First time visiting this afternoon , staff were friendly and helpful and was made to feel very welcome. Can’t rate food as we only had drinks.

Food was excellent as was the service. Really enjoyable lunch
