Great beer selection in a friendly traditional style pub

Brought here by my son and girlfriend as it was an ‘old man’s pub.’ And that both fits and doesn’t. Yes, there were plenty of older guys in there, but also a young crowd. Lots and LOTS of shots being served, but plenty of pints available. The staff were super friendly (with a particular shout out to the barmaid who was very adept at dealing with attentive male customers) and we had a lovely visit - a colourful and bright establishment.

This is an amazing friendly pub. Once you walk in, the bar staff, landlord and regulars make it a very warm and enjoyable experience. They have many events on from karaoke to DJs and party nights. I have been back many times and have now become part of the JBs family…

Called on off-chance Sunday at 12.30. Found a REAL pub. Interior therefore as you'd expect. Not expexpected was a happy hour 12.30-1.30, plus, a wonderful free spread of cheeses, biscuits, small pork pies etc etc. But big bonus was a guy sitting in front of his laptop from which he played fab golden oldies, Inc, Helen Shapiros Tell Me What He Said. Overall great experience. Oh and by the way, there was a very welcoming 'landlady'.

£1 a go on the pool table and £3.50 drinks at happy hour is great. Staff have been friendly both times I have been here. Nice little pub!

THIS PUB SMELLS OF SMOKE. Not sure how this place has such a high rating. Horrible atmosphere and unpleasant staff; The pictures and information about the pub online are out of date and incorrect.

I was on holiday and was recommended by locals so I popped in and found it very friendly and service was friendly. The Landlady and the young barmaid made me feel welcome and the drinks were good value. But don’t take my word for it, definitely worth a visit ( or2!)

Old skool bar, in the best possible sense. Good selection of drinks. Lady behind the bar was friendly, efficient and welcoming. Good pool table room. Cheap prices. Deffo worth dropping in for a swift pint if in the area.

An old style pub which has remained a pub whilst others around it have become merely bars.

Arrived late for the big event that night. Lovely old pub, very friendly staff. Great music. Only down for me was few ales on tap. Plenty of lagers.

The bar person Laura is very personable girl. Great atmosphere and welcoming.

I've only recently moved to Worthing - time to try out my local! It's daunting being a 'mature' woman going to a pub alone, but I was made to feel very welcome. Definitely an older crowd on the night I went, which suited me. It was karaoke night - the excellent Jai - which probably helped, as it was a chance to join in and chat about the songs. Traditional but not stuffy! (One star off because I'm shocked by the prices down South - but probably fair pricing around here)

A nice little pub, a bit like a TARDIS as it spreads out on the inside. Friendly lady behind the bar but it was very quiet when I was there. Beer prices are a little above average in my view, but I would go back if I was in the area again.

Such a great place back in the late 90's. Have to pop in when i visit Worthing.

Great old style little pub, friendly bar staff, friendly slightly quirky regulars, lol. Always a good atmosphere here and usually lots of different events.

No real ale on no real cider on so not my cup of tea. But a very friendly bar lady which made my wife and I fell welcoming but we only needed to go once.

I visited this pub 2 years ago with friends, lovely pub, nice bar staff, great atmosphere will definitely come again.

Good atmosphere, great jukebox, but my pizza was burnt!!

Went for a quiet drink on our arrival on a weekend away, settled down with drinks in the pub, when several people who obviously knew each other and were very drunk piled onto a table next to us. No social distancing and no regard given to our safety. We left after one drink when we had been looking forward to relaxing in there for a while. Overall noisy and disappointing experience

I've been a regular (ish) since the mid Ninteys. The place has changed but still retains some of its old character.

Ok for somewhere to talk and a couple of beers, especially in the afternoon.

Staff nice friendly beers I had dombar & there other real ale v good. But no garden . Tired decor. Very dark fruit machine flashing. I'd called this old man pub from the 80s. Oh clients friendly drunk & like a song songs. Be great on cold rainy day

So much nostalgic love for this pub! It feels like I grew up here and although I haven't really improved in the last ten years, I learnt to play pool on the table here. The bar staff are great and the music choice is brilliant. So many great folks. I miss JBs!
