Mangiamo in Worthing

Ate here with my daughter on Saturday 2nd November before the cinema. Service and food was excellent. We both had the lamb and chicken bbq specials and were not disappointed. Have no hesitation in recommending it to friends. Although I only gave it 3 stars for atmosphere, this is only because we ate very early in the evening and it was almost empty. I’m sure this would not apply later in the evening.

We visited for a birthday lunch and had a great time. We were offered a choice of tables and several menu options include a set price lunchmenu and a kids menu, both offering excellent value for money. The food was delicious and the service friendly and accommodating. We will definitely be back. Thanks

Sabrina and her team were the most attentive and helpful hosts with our booking last night. We had arranged for a private space to host a hen party, including entertainment and Manginamo were nothing but amazing! I have been in contact with Sabrina to arrange all the tiny details for weeks, and helped prepare a set 3 course meal with tasty cocktails!! We emailed menus/ wine choices and I literally have nothing negative to say about Sabrina what a star!!⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ She helped us set up early in the day for the event and gave us little extras such as nibbles on the table free of charge! If you have to make a big booking I would recommend 100% them!

Was struggling to find a table at the restaurants we fancied going to so after a short walk, we found this place. It was quiet, plenty of free tables and we knew nothing about this restaurant. We were pleasantly surprised. The garlic bread starter, calzone and sautéed lamb were all really tasty. The staff were very pleasant and attentive. Would recommend this place 😊

Great food, but always a bit slow service

I hardly do reviews, whether positive or negative, but I was unfortunately having to do it. Leaving aside the fact that both my wife and I found a hair in the food (it can happen) but it was the quality of the raw materials that left me speechless, the choice of quality materials should be the basis of catering but probably here they did not understand it, results? I spent a night with a stomach ache and vomiting! I had high expectations for this venue but... I don't think I'll come back. You're right, I hardly leave reviews and above all I hardly leave negative reviews so if this time it happened it's precisely because I find what happened unacceptable! I don't know if you are the owner of this business or simply a collaborator that I am not interested in because, as I have already said, he will not return to your restaurant. If the reviews were based on arrogance and presumption, I would give you even more than 5 stars! The same effort you put into responding to reviews next time try to put it into your work, chances are reviews like mine won't come anymore. Cleanliness, friendliness and quality are the basis not only of catering, but of any other work activity... You're missing three out of three! Instead of asking myself who I am, if I'm true or if I'm fake, instead of asking myself questions, try asking yourself a few! Sabrina you said that's your name, I'm Claudio, and of course hydra is a nickname and anyone with a little bit intelligence would have understood it... But unfortunately or fortunately not everyone has it! Have a good day

Had an excellent meal at Mangiamo this evening. The food and drink were very good and authentic Italian. The staff were friendly and helpful. I tend to judge a place by thinking 'would I go again?' and I would definitely go again to Mangiamo.

We have been coming here for the past 2 years and have always enjoyed it. Staff are very welcoming and attentive. Authentic Italian food, quality and quantity 👌 the restaurant itself is comfortable and contemporary, which makes for a nice dining experience. Will be back again soon!

We had a large group which was well looked after. Good food and great service.

We were a group of 26. We had a 2 course meal chosen from the menu and all 3 courses were fresh and well cooked at good temperature. The service led by Sabrina was very efficient and well executed. Excellent meal and great food and service

I first came here on my birthday in December and was blown away by the friendliness of the staff, the quality of food and the prices! We’ve been back every month since, it’s brilliant for big tables or an intimate dinner of 2, I just love it. They make a big effort if it’s someone’s birthday and considering when we came last night we must of been quite loud (apologies!) but they were so cool with us and had great banter. So relaxed! Considering the big portion sizes and yummy food, I’m surprised how cheap it is as well. Definitely my favourite Italian in worthing at the moment. Thanks guys we’ll see you next month!

Lovely atmosphere. We often go for a coffee and pastry in the morning. The almond slice is great. Would recommend all round excellent.

Very disappointed by our visit. The staff were nice but the food wasn't. When my wife queried why her salad was so bare they said their delivery hadn't arrived. It might have been better to suggest she doesn't order a halloumi salad when they didn't have any halloumi or other bits specified on the menu. It might also explain why my pizza looked so bare.

The food is great value, and you get really good portion sizes for the money. The salmon was cooked to perfection, I think I probably should have swapped my rice for something else as it was a bit dry and boring, but the chilli oil helped 😊 The service was good, and the atmosphere was great. My daughter also loved her pizza. We will definitely be back!!

Rang late morning as we were let down by another restaurant. They happily accommodated 11 of us at very short notice. The value and quality of the food was very good. Service was efficient and friendly. Everyone was very happy. We plan to return as a group for a pre-show dinner.

My food was really nice, didn't realise that it was going to be as spicy as it was, but I was here for it. The waitress was really nice and approachable. If anyone had any problems then it would be solved straight away. It was a Friday night, so was quite busy, but was also quite nice as the music was loud. Would definitely recommend for people that are visiting worthing or just want a nice meal out.

Had a pizza, good size for the price, and tasted lovely. Staff were nice, and pleasant, with the chef shaping, the kid who was with us pizza into a bunny.

A group of fifteen visited here last Saturday. 12.08.23 They sat us at the large seated back area, lovely large light space. A nice friendly welcome, and not in a false way. We all ordered, drinks served quick. Food arrived hot, and all at the same time. Which was fantastic for a large group. I had the meatballs, great starter. Penne pasta for main. Had a selection of desserts, all great. We all had varied starters, mains, not one complaint. Would highly recommend. Great food. Great value. Lovely friendly staff. Great decor. Would use again.

I went to Mangiamo yesterday and had a halloumi salad, delicious. The restaurant is beautiful and the service is great, as is the Efes lager. Highly recommend.

They charge for Parmesan and it’s an Italian restaurant who does that!! The worst thing is when you ask for Parmesan they don’t say how much it costs… Pizzas very bland..

Excellent meal tonight. Great service, good quality food at a great price and well priced drinks. Banoffie pie and tiramisu to finish were freshly made and brilliant. Will certainly be back.

A lovely place to eat with fantastic atmosphere and amazing service! We had calzone and pizza, both delicious! For dessert we ordered benoffie pie, one of the best which I ever had. Not first and last time for me in Mangiamo !

If it’s comfort food you’re after, this is the place to go! The pasta is cooked fresh to order and the portion sizes are very giving! Love the fact it’s local to me! Celebrated my 35th birthday here with family and friends! X

We had a wonderful night for our daughters 21st We had a large group and from the moment I first made contact the staff could not be more helpful. On the night the food was beautiful and the staff were again brilliant. A great night was had by everyone especially our daughter.

Was passing by and stopped in for a lunch on a Sunday. Nice restaurant nice pizzas they made a special pasta for my fussy 3 year old son and he ate it all. Great value and would recommend...

Waited about hour and half before even getting our starters. Service was terrible. We left before our main courses 😩

Went here last night for food and drinks, was impressed with the drinks, the cocktails were really nice but the food was awful. I basically had dried pasta with tomato soup on it. We didn't eat our mains and will definitely not be back, it's not cheap if you don't actually eat anything. Don't waste your time if you like flavour.

Enjoyable meal, a bit quiet as we were there early but as we finished our meal it started to get busy. Tge pizza was delicious.

**coeliacs be aware** We went to Mangiamo two weeks ago Saturday as we had tickets booked at the Connaught cinema. The main reason for choosing Mangiamo was due to it stating that all pizza's can be made gluten free. My mother is coeliac and finding places for her to eat can be challenging, especially at weekends when places tend to book up very quickly. We hadn't been to Mangiamo's before and were quickly seated, and the waitress serving us was lovely and duely took our drinks and pizza order. Some time after we ordered the waitress returned, and very nervously advised my mother that there was a £5 charge for a gluten free pizza base. My mum kindly advised she would not be paying £5 extra for a base and asked the waitress for the menu back, she wasn't cross with the waitress, it wasn't her fault, and subsequently chose a salad. The price of a gluten free base is not stated either on the website or any of the menus in the restaurant, and at time of writing this does not appear to have changed. When the manager came and served our drinks, my mother raised this with him and he made an excuse about not wanting to advertise when they have gluten free bases in stock, as they then receive complaints when they run out, which had nothing to do with my mum's complaint of a) the significant price of the base, and b) the fact this mark up is not stated anywhere. The manager remained polite, but was clearly annoyed that mum clarified that stock was not her issue and would not let him blame the poor waitress who he stated was new. Having to pay extra for gf bread, bases etc is not new for us, even though it is wrong and discriminates against those who have no choice in what they are able to eat, but the manager just doubled down about stock, even though mum was understanding about the current rise in costs. For comparison Fiordelatte also in town only charges £3.60 for gluten free bases. Myself and my boyfriend had standard pizzas and they were nice, reflected the price on the menu, mum said her salad was nice but small for the price. We opted not to have dessert, and I think I will go back to using the other Italian restaurants in town, whether coeliac dining or not.

Has potential but tonight was a shocker. It seemed like it’s was it’s first day in business. The staff didn’t have a clue what was going on and they had ran out of the majority of the menu by 8pm. Food was ok but the service was terrible tonight.

Lovely place for lunch, can't understand why it's not packed out! Fantastic pizzas for £6.95. Two small objections though.. ordered a mixed salad. One handful of leaves and one cherry tomato for £5.95....also 10% added to the bill...should be the customers' choice, especially at lunchtime. Have to say though, the staff are fabulous and the pizzas are delicious.

Amazing restaurant and brilliant food. Staff are lovely and welcoming. Only downside is that I wished they would do spaghetti carbonara ( silly spelling) on the £6.95 menu.

Had a chance to visit Mangiamo tonight with my sister not expecting much for the very reasonable price of £6.95 but I was blown away by how tasty light and crispy my pizza was. It was actually the best pizza I have had for a long time. I will come again. Thank you @Mangiamo

Lovely friendly staff, nice surroundings and fantastic value for money - especially their Pasta & Pizza menus! I can personally recommend the Calzone :) Bit of a hidden gem this one - not sure why it wasn't absolutely heaving although we were there on Thursday. I would definitely recommend giving it a try if you like Italian food.

Went here before a concert. Was busy. The food was hot and delicious. Great value. Will definitely be going back. Would recommend.

Wow!!! What a find! Was looking for somewhere to eat pre theatre and stumbled across this wonderful restaurant. A warm welcome from all the staff and friendly service throughout, nothing was too much trouble. The food itself was superb! Fresh ingredients, good presentation and plenty of it! The best part was the cost - just under £25 a head for 2 courses, a bottle of wine (plus one extra glass) and service charge! Will definitely be returning!

Oh my word, me and my toddler went here for lunch and had the most delicious pasta and pizza. The portions were enormous and we couldn't finish it all. The price was seriously good for the quality of food. Big shout out to Kelly who couldn't do enough for us. My daughter and her made great friends too ☺️

Honestly some of the friendliest, most attentive staff at any restaurant I've been to. Were very considerate of my partners seafood allergy which was great too. Will definitely be back again if we're in Worthing!

Decor nice and clean, there was 8 of us and despite nearly all of us ordering pizza our food arrived in good time and was all piping hot and tasty! Exceptional value for money too!

Me and my partner love checking out new coffee spots, so we though as they do a coffee and pastry deal we would pop in. When we got in there was loads of space which is great when you have a pram etc so that's a win. We just ordered 2 Cappuccinos, when they arrived they were in tiny cups like what you have a espresso shot in. Barely 2 mouthfuls, very disappointed and defo somewhere I wouldn't bother going again. At least the staff were chatty and friendly, in total 2 cappuccinos later it was to £7.40 in service and it was just very sub par coffee. What a rip off I know some coffee spots are expensive but if it's coffee you want DON'T go there.

Ignore wild faces but it was honestly a fantastic place to have dinner. They are wheelchair accessible and are really accomodating. I had their pizza and my spouse had pasta and they were cooked to perfection. Also 2 cocktails for 12 is a fantastic deal.

The pizza was excellent, but adding a compulsory service charge makes a lunchtime offer a bit pointless. Service was slow and it wasn't busy at all

Best italian experience in town! I've been to this location a few times when it was under different names(Aqua, Pomodoro) and probably different owners, but now Mangiamo really has something special. I always loves this location..the decor is really elegant, but this new owner brought something special to the menu. I'm really passionate about italian food, been travelling a lot in Italy and tried many restaurants and Mangiamo made me feel for a couple of hours that I was somewhere in Italy and not in Worthing. Can't wait to go back again!

We came here on Friday evening for a colleagues leaving do, there was 9 of us. The atmosphere was great, staff very friendly and the food was so delicious and really reasonably priced. Will definitely be coming back.
