Average pub grub and not trendy but it's got what you need, roaring fires make it more cost than it would be, staff are pleasant, good ale and has a pool table and machines. Oh and in summer a bit garden at the back - great for kids.

Had a great time visiting this Pub! We went for a couple drinks and came out with a few new friends! They have a Dart board, Pool table, and Outdoor seating so you can roam around with your beer. The staff was friendly and so were the customers, we had an AWESOME time hanging out here!

Great service...Thank you to the very nice lady that served us, brought the coffees out to us, and later the nice portion size of cheesy chips, without hesitation, even though, later I realised she was struggling to walk. Amazing relaxing garden.

Absolutely cracking Sunday lunch. I was part of a party of 16 and the staff and chefs made sure we all had our meals as requested. Will try the mixed meat lunch next time.

Really friendly staff and there was a party going on out back, so there were some bangin tunes!

Never been to a pub, where you are told not to stand at the bar. Despite pub being relatively quiet. Ridiculous rules, and can see why some pubs are dying a death...

Nice little pub good atmosphere and friendly staff

First time going here. Very nice pub. Pool table and dart board available and a garden as well, I have to say the toilets were the cleanest I have ever seen or smelt!!! Staff friendly. My only criticism was the fact we arrived there around d 4pm and there was no food available which doesn't quite make sense to me, we asked and they only serve for around 2 hours. They only open at 2pm.

Traditional pub with hearty pub grub menu and friendly owners. Great pool table and darts board as well as large garden space at the back. On revised opening hours and a pared down menu on day of visit.

Stopped off during a Sunday cycle ride, a little gem of a pub. Nice friendly staff and atmosphere, large garden, and well kept beers. We hadn’t booked in for Sunday lunch, but fortunately staff went out of their way to accommodate us…..and lunch didn’t disappoint, living up to their great Google reviews. Excellent beer. Excellent food. Excellent value. Highly recommend.

Renowned historical Public House popular with tourist and locals. Famous for the best Sunday roast in Oxford. A Hidden gem in Temple Cowley. It is a local pub with indoor games and live Sport on TV. Massive outdoor garden and really friendly staff. Pre Covid-19 This pub had (has) the best local bands or karaoke at the Weekends. Interesting fact this is the Pub (allegedly) where Freddie Mercury proposed to Mary Austin in 1973 after Queen preformed nearby. The famous framed photo of the occasion had to be taken down in 1991 due to Queen fan's and Relic hunters.

Well it is just over the road from our house! Steve and Kim always make you welcome and the drinks are a reasonable price and the food is excellent.

Not a layout,parking rubbish, some customers are very rude & insulting. Shame as the landlord/lady are friendly,but I don't like this particular pub wouldn't go there again.

Staff are very friendly and helpful. The rooms are ok they're comfortable. The food however is first class

Is a very local pub, but they do very nice Sunday roasts

Don't take kids for a meal at night as they have a policy for kids after 10(expensive beer)

Cheap and cheerful. Service a little slow sometimes but an extensive food menu, which always tastes good & a fabulous garden for those sunny days

Nice traditional pub. Lovely beer garden with mature trees. It has a slide, swing and loads of room for kids to play. Drink prices are reasonable. Lager was nearly a pound cheaper than most Oxford pubs. Reasonable food choice with several vegetarian options. Friendly staff, first time I've been called love since moving from Northern England to Oxford.

Nice pub up a side street off the main road into town. Biggish pub but sadly it's a Greene King selling their own range of awful beers. Not for me thanks.

Friendly staff, low prices, popular with the locals. Surprisingly large garden which is lovely in the warm weather. Take it for what it is - nothing fancy, and can get a bit rowdy at times, but never any trouble.

It took them an hour to prepare 2 burgers. And the whole atmosphere was not great.

The good: Great yard to play outside with children. The okay: Prices of beers are reasonable. Staff are friendly. People are, too. The terrible: The food. Uninspired, pre-frozen, bland. Giant portions that seem to have come right out of a tin. It's a nice place to go in summer with kids, but I wouldn't go out of my way to get here.
