All round pleasurable experience today. Sunday lunch was excellent. Fresh, hot, plentiful food with thoughtful little added extras. Served by friendly, efficient volunteers. We will be back!

Well worth a visit here to the cafe. The food is delicious and freshly cooked. There is also a little shop selling all different things you need and also you will be supporting a good local charity.

Really lovely cafe. The food is absolutely delicious, really fresh, tasty home cooked food. The staff are all so lovely - really friendly and welcoming, and service is always efficient and professional. The cafe itself is spotlessly clean with modern decor. Menu is good with a wide range of options and being vegetarian I have never struggled for choice. The cakes and desserts are a must too! Definitely recommend.

Made two visits while staying locally on a break. We enjoyed our meals provided at a reasonable price while hopefully helping the hospice.

Such a wonderful place, it feels so light, calm and peaceful. The food is delicious and we are looking forward to returning. There is a gift shop and there was plant sale.

7 of us had a delicious Christmas lunch on Wednesday 14th December. The table looked lovely and welcoming. All enjoyed their meals. Those who had starters said they were good. The main course, most of us had the turkey, whilst the vegetarian had the nutless roast, was excellent, everything cooked to perfection, and plenty of it. The Christmas pudding and the cheesecake were superb. And the mince pies, well, they were out of this world , with the Viennese biscuit topping, and warmed to just the right temperature. The service was good, and staff and volunteers are always smiling, helpul and efficient. Unfortunately the crackers were of poor quality and disappointing, but overall excellent. Katy, Heysham.

This is a delightful cafe set out so nicely and so welcoming. Really clean and run by wonderful staff giving up their time , I applaud you all. I have been a few times to meet up with a friend for morning coffee to find nothing suitable for vegans in the food department. I have been vegan for 40 years or more and feel I step back in time here with the old line we have nothing suitable for you. Surely with all those lovely looking cakes at least one could be made vegan and gluten free? I haven't attempted lunch here based on the lack snacks I can't see I am going to get beyond baked beans? Prove me wrong- you have a lovely asset in this cafe please consider those who need/ want something to support their diet.

Great food & friendly service in a lovely environment. My only 'criticisms' are that it would benefit from a couple more tables in the bags of empty space to help at regular busy times, it's a bit pricey and it often sells out of cakes early. Most of all, I would go a lot more often if it opened beyond 3, which is very early for a cafe to close.

Have attended the Courtyard Café on various occasions - what a fabulous place this is. Bright, always immaculately clean and food is exceedingly good.

We really love the tranquil atmosphere here, we sat by the fire on such a grim day weather wise. It was pretty quiet, no queue as we ordered our food. I ordered the chargrilled halloumi salad and my friend ordered an egg sandwich and salad. Our drinks were given to us as we ordered, food didn't take long at all. Every thing looked and tasted fantastic. The staff are so friendly and welcoming. They have a small shop selling gifts you have a look around. Lovely place, staff and food. Recommend a visit and every penny goes back into the Hospice. And thank you to all the staff who are volunteers that run the cafe.

This hugely popular wine bar and eating establishment, a stone's throw from the shores of Morecambe Bay, was our destination for a tea-time treat. Three of us ordered a trio of mouth-watering boards adorned with a rich variety of tempting morsels......from Lancashire pork pies and slices of ham to an impressive range of cheeses, with lots of little pots of tasty and tangy chutneys and pickles, together with extremely moorish bread and crispy crackers. A quite splendid, locally sourced feast accompanied by a velvety rioja. All in all, a wonderful experience in a cosy, welcoming atmosphere. Congratulations to Gill and all those in front of house and the kitchen. The family running Shackleton's have a distant link to the legendary Antarctic explorer of the same name....one thing's for sure, Sir Ernest would have been more than happy to trek across the most challenging ice-field in order to share a board here in Morecambe!
