Where do I start. Pre booked a table for a birthday celebration meal. Arrived at the courtyard to be told that we could stay in the pub? And have burgers, pinnines etc. NO WE BOOK FOR A CELEBRATION MEAL, oh you need to go over to the next building. Carried our drinks outside to next building Bad start already. Got to the place were we are eating to find teenage kids running round shouting, playing pool. No tables clothes just a dirty sticky table. Never mind go with it. Order starters if pate on toast, oh what's this three extra small oval slices of fresh toast and low and behold every slice on both plates had holes in them leaving just the outer rim.Four main meals ordered, chef didn't cook one of them, so the rush began to get it out on time so we could est together, sent back as it was cold. Wouldn't even re order and told them not to bother with another. The water apologised and offered us drinks and desert from his own pocket. We never accepted as it was NOT his fault The staff were really nice and couldn't apologise enough. Get rid of the chef it's disgusting We will never recommend there or go back Went home and had a cheese Sam

Our experience was very disappointing as far as the accommodation. Our room was dark old fashion drab and very stuffy. The lighting was terrible considering its wedding destination it was very difficult to do my hair in the bedroom. Our room was not serviced and when we complained we were told we should have asked. The rooms are over priced. They need to add some elevators to these buildings too many stairs and cobbles for older people. The wedding venue was lovely but I think that was all down to my niece. Other members of our party all complained about the rooms from lumpy beds to dirty bed linen and shower that fell apart. This place is obviously a popular choice for wedding so I guess the owner don’t care about the rooms. Breakfast on the first wasn’t great but the buffet the next day was decent. The night of the wedding we were disturbed by noisy people still partying until 4:00 am in the courtyard.

Can't fault the staff, very attentive and friendly. (I'm trying to be a kind as I can be) First visit in years, last time brilliant food & environment. Arrived for lunch at 1.15 pm to the courtyard bar.First thought the establishment was closed as we were the only people there. As chilly outside went to sit near the glowing 🔥 (however not just an electric fire on glowing only no heat !)just like the atmosphere . Everything very tired 20 years out of date, with trip hazards. Had to ask for new cutlery as dirty. Very basic bar food with a side salad 4 lettuce leaves that you forgot about in your salad drawer 2 weeks ago! The bar seems to have been left to deteriorate compared to what seems to be the lovely spa and hotel, so please don't be put of having a nice break there. This bar needs some basic updates to make it homely again, not posh just more rustic.

We got married here, so returned, 12 years on, to celebrate our anniversary. It's a lovely restaurant. Excellent service and lovely food, in a romantic atmosphere. It was all too tempting, and we made the mistake of ordering three courses; something we never do. After the meal, we rolled ourselves to the bar, where we had a cocktail each. No half measures here; the cocktails nearly blew our heads off. We then took our full bellies and dizzy heads back home in an Uber. Stuffed, muzzy and regretting going for dessert (which was lovely, by the way). Overall, a very good experience. We'll be back.

Had a lovely afternoon tea for 4 adults and 2 children. The children's portions were perfect as we're the adults. Very nice relaxing atmosphere and great service. Especially from Franco. Highly recommend.

Fish was terrible, just mushy, like it had been frozen and defrosted multiple times. I highly doubt it was haddock as well, absolutely no taste to it. Chips were fine as were the gravy and peas but won't be coming back. Used to be so much nicer.

We was here on Sunday, 6 of us and we all enjoyed our food lasagne, gammon, cheese pie, fish n chips, and 2 roast beef dinners It is not the cheapest of places but the service is good and it has a nice feel about it If you are thinking of going check that it is open first, as it is closing on Sunday 21st May and will be taken over by new people so not sure when it will open again Would I go again ? Yes I think I will give it a go whe it reopens to see what it is like John

Who knew what a wonderful place we had on our door step! Well ok I've been here many times over the years with my own kids as they have grown. But we came here with a friend from out of town with her son and what a magical experience we had! The place was full of lots of families enjoying the day and we managed to see some great animals, from Lions to Tigers, then Bears to the Rhinos and of course there naughty Monkeys! We also got to see some lovely Tapirs and of course finished with the SeaLion show! (Save the best for last!) The team at the Safari Park were lovely especially 2 ladies called Ellie & Lyn who help run the Sealion part.
