Great pub,friendly, knowledgeable staff well kept beers.

Always friendly staff who are always willing to talk to you. Quick to get served even when busy. Very clean throughout and never had a bad pint.

Outstanding and Great beer, pizza is pocket punch happy but nowt to write home about but the folk are real, canny and the rooms you sit in meet every mood you have. Its a proper pub, with proper people, get out, live it, love it. X

After a previous altercation in a nearby pub about being a look alike for mr alan shearer. My wife and I had a few drinks in the pub where mr shearer was drinking. We felt very uncomfortable as people mistaken myeslf for mr shearer no fault to mr shearer we decided to leave early.

This is the first pub I ever went to and 45 years later its just as good

Best pub in Gosforth and maybe Newcastle. Staff are definately the best. Why can't all staff be like this. They 'work' the bar so well, always know who's next and you never have to wait long. They obviously are very well trained.Awesome pub made great by the staff. Keep it up.

Popped in for a pint while waiting for a takeaway order, staff were very good quick service and the estrella galicia lovely well recommend.

They serve a good variety of ales on Keg and cask. It's a good old pub vibe and never too loud or rowdy.

Not been for ages as we don't live anywhere near Newcastle but as we were visiting family we took the opportunity to check it out again. Great pub. Nothing else to say.

Very nice local pub where locals meet. I was there on a Friday evening and it was pretty packed. They have a huge variety of different beers and you can try any new beers for which they have little shot like glasses. Definitely coming here for a few drinks as the selection is just huge. The staff is super friendly and it was really nice to see a local pub with mainly locals in it.

A traditional original pub, popular with an older crowd. Good range of beers at not excessive prices. Classic oak decor inside. Several 'snugs' in the front, and a small separate back room for gatherings. Busy at the weekends but generally quiet mid week.

I had the pleasure of visiting The County on 12th December for a Christmas drink with a friend and felt compelled to share my positive experience. We arrived around midday, and despite the pub having a decent number of patrons, it was manageable, creating a delightful and relaxed atmosphere. The ambience of the pub, with its wood panel walls, added a charming touch to the overall experience. What truly stood out, however, was the exceptional service provided by the bar staff. In particular, a tall gentleman with a large beard demonstrated an impressive knowledge of the extensive beer selection. His recommendations and insights made our afternoon all the more enjoyable. The County is not just a pub; it's a gem for anyone seeking a welcoming environment, knowledgeable staff, and a diverse beer selection. I appreciated the attention to detail, including the wood panel walls that gave the pub a warm and inviting feel. I also enjoyed the presence of TV screens, which added a modern touch without compromising the traditional pub atmosphere. If you still need to visit The County, I highly recommend it. My experience was fantastic, and I am confident that others will find it a lovely establishment for a great time with friends.

Suddenly put their prices up more than others.

Only popped in for a quick pint comfortable enough just under six quid for a pint of Estrella but John Smith's was two seventy. Lass behind the bar was pleasant enough.

A fantastic bar with a great choice of real ales. Staff are always very welcoming and friendly. Made it my 2nd home now, won't drink anywhere else in Gosforth. If you are in the area make sure you pay a visit, can't recommend it enough.

The best choice of craft beer (keg and cask) on Gosforth High Street. Always a good choice of local beers available. The cleanest pub around, with good outdoor and indoor seating and tables cleared regularly by pleasant staff.

Could almost call this a sports bar now due to the number of screens

We visit Newcastle regularly and always come to the County in Gosforth. It is fantastic with great ales & sn abundance of choice!, Friendly staff and a fantastic atmosphere.. The decor & windows add to the grest character. Pizzas are great. Well worth a visit.

I visited The Country for the first time today, and have to say I will definitely be going back. A great pub with a friendly atmosphere. All the bar staff are great, helpful and friendly imparticular Leslie who after knowing I was visiting for the first time went that extra mile to make me feel welcome. I’m really looking forward to going back.
