This restaurant is an absolute gem with fantastic attentive staff and very reasonable priced quality food, would highly recommend.

Really lovely food inc desserts. Everyone around us were complimenting the staff about their food. Definitely a good find, would recommend.

We were happy with our visit to the cottage restaurant in Inverary. We stopped off on our way to our hotel on Loch Fyne. Staff were pleasant and the menu adequate for our needs. There is lots of choice in Inverary and when we visited the cottage was quiet and service very good. Menu choices suited us at fair prices.

Well we didn't manage to have dinner here as the sign on the door said that it was full! That must be a good sign hence the five stars!😏

Pretty decent variety of food. Different soups and many pastries. They were very full but still managed to get food out at a reasonable rate even with people ordering takeout!. Located mid Main Street not too far from anything.

A small restaurant, tucked away down a path off the main street in Inveraray. The welcome was friendly as was the service. At first glance the menu looked a little "standard", but the food we had was excellent. The Loch Fyne smoked salmon starter was very good, and the chicken stuffed with haggis, accompanied by dauphinoise potatoes and fresh vegetables was excellent. Portion sizes were generous. The desserts looked very nice but we didn't have room left to attempt them.

My husband and I stopped by this tiny little restaurant aptly named the Cottage Restaurant, given that it has fewer than 10 tables. Food is homemade and delicious, certainly helped by all the locally sourced ingredients such as salmon from Loch Fyne, venison etc…. We shared the smoked salmon duo as an appetizer, which was phenomenal! After a heavy lunch, my husband opted to have a Caesar salad with home fried chicken breast. I had the seared duck breast. Both dishes were excellent! For dessert we had the homemade fruit crumble which was also top notch. Service is excellent in this family owned and operated restaurant.

This quaint little family restaurant was one of the highlights of our trip. I am so glad we made a booking here our first night in Inverary as they were an obvious hotspot! The food was scrumptious and the service was so friendly and genuine. We ate everything they put in front of us. This place is just one of many reasons to visit Inverary!

Lovely fresh food and very friendly staff Salmon fish cakes tasted as though they were made to order - so fresh tasting. Home made fruit crumble made with seasonal fruits. Would thoroughly recommend.

We arrived on a Friday evening at 18:00 and hadn't booked. Inveraray was much quieter than we had expected and we were the only diners at that stage in the restaurant. I had fish pie which came with an accompaniment of lightly cooked fresh veg and salad. My wife had lasagne. We both thoroughly enjoyed the meal. There is a nicely stocked fridge and bar. The service from the owner was very pleasant and efficient and we weren't hurried. .

Popped in for a quick lunch and paid £34 for 4 sort drinks, 2 filled baked potatoes, 1 panini, 1 cheese toastie and a side of chips. Food was good and service pleasant. Only complaint was the toastie was rather flat so I would recommend adjusting the pressure on the sandwich press.

Siamo capitati per caso in questo ristorante a Inveraray. È un po' nascosto in una vietta del centro. Il locale non è molto grande ma abbiamo avuto fortuna di trovare un tavolo disponibile. Abbiamo ordinato per antipasto pane tostato con patè davvero buono e un'insalata e una pie con pesce, patate e formaggio. Tipico scozzese, molto buona anche se un po' pesantina. Ottimo rapporto qualità prezzo.

A lovely wee cafe/restaurant hidden down a lane near the centre of Inveraray. The staff were very attentive and although the decor wasn’t particularly flashy it was modern and clean (and you don’t go to a restaurant to look at the walls!)We had the Steak & Ale Pie and Fish Pie for dinner and thoroughly enjoyed both.

Food and customer servicie was nothing special. We realized about a weird flavour on the mayo, checked on the date and it was out of date. We told the waitress and she only said "oh, yes"", took all the used sauces and left (no apologies or something similar at least). We also told her about picking all the out of date sauces so nobody could use them, but she did nothing (sauces are still there for all the customers)

Stopped here for lunch before visiting the castle and, for the most part, it was okay. The exterior of The Cottage oozes old world charm, but the interior is modern, and lacks any sort of a Scottish feel (not that everywhere you go in Scotland has to be over-the-top Scottish). Truth be told, it has more of a café feel than a full-fledged restaurant.The food was fine (I had the curry, and it was nice), and prices were reasonable. Not sure what the deal was, but the owners didn’t crack a smile the entire time...maybe they were just having a bad day. Our server was friendly.When you go on vacation you want the places you visit to be memorable, because sometimes it might be the only time you’ll ever get there. The Cottage was just okay…nothing horrible, but nothing that knocked our socks off, either. While I’m sure I’ll be returning to Inveraray, I’ll more-than-likely choose a different place.

Least favorite place to dine in Inveraray. Still very good quality fish and chips. The environment has some much better potential. I think could be a fantastic pub. Staff lovely. I see it’s for sale.
