Lovely hotel room with views of a beautiful garden. Very organised and professional setting. Breakfast was delicious and I’m planning to visit again very soon. Well worth the price you pay.

Well, what a nice surprise. The Cottage Hotel is a refreshing change to your average accommodation. Lots of different areas to eat, drink, and relax and outside is showered with flowers and greenery. A lovely bar with attentive staff and enough space to accommodate weddings as well. Unassuming from the front but a pleasant surprise inside. We enjoyed our stay and loved our authentic, quirky room. Just like an old cottage bedroom should be. The bed was comfy, the breakfast was excellent, the staff welcoming, and a minor discrepancy was dealt with promptly and professionally. Ideally placed to access the vibrant small town of Ruddington, which we equally enjoyed. Lots of pubs, restaurants, and infrastructure. We would definitely recommend a stay here.. 👌

Overpriced. I've stayed in hotels across the UK and that was by far the worst bed I have ever tried to sleep in. No help whatsoever and during a special occasion bar staff clearing up full drinks to make people go back to the bar for new ones. Disgusted.

I had read some mixed reviews but having had a really lovely stay, I think they were written by people who just love to complain and nit pick. This is not a stark, modern, generic hotel - it's lived in and loved. The staff are really friendly - all of them! I was met with a smile by everyone. From the moment we arrived, we were made to feel welcome and comfortable. There is plenty of car parking space within easy walking distance of both the main reception area and also all other access areas to the rooms and facilities. I loved my hefty key for my room - definitely wasn't going to lose that! My room (a junior suite overlooking the main road) was just lovely - bright, clean and warm. There was no noise from the road at all. I stayed two nights - Friday to Sunday - and was not disturbed at all by any road noise (and there were definitely cars going by). The bed was super comfortable with proper pillows and crisp, white sheets. The room facilities were spot on - clean kettle, iron and ironing board, hotel and local information, really fast wifi connection, lots of TV channels. Love the hanging space as well. The bathroom was huge with a freestanding bath that was big enough for me to relax (I need a lot of space!). The shower was beautifully hot (although could have done with a little more oomph for my liking but that's just a personal opinion). Breakfast on both days was great. Lots of buffet choice and a good full-english! I had 'surprise eggs' both days as I love all eggs and couldn't make my mind up! Fried eggs came the first day and poached the second - all cooked beautifully with lovely deep orange runny yolks. Perfect! We had dinner at the hotel on the first night - really lovely pie which was served quickly! The only thing that I didn't like (and it is a teeny tiny gripe) was that the coffee sachets in the room were Nescafe. That is a purely personal issue as I won't buy anything by Nestle. So I just bring my own - I wasn't inconvenienced in any way at all.

Absolutely incredible! Our wedding was an absolute dream! From the moment I arrived the day before our wedding to the moment we checked out husband & wife the service and hospitality we received was 110%. The day of the wedding the staff were amazing. Nothing was too much trouble and they went above and beyond to accommodate us. The food!!!! Wow! It was absolutely delicious, not one of our 50+ guests had any issues. The chef did an amazing job! If you’re considering the cottage hotel for your wedding don’t hesitate. You won’t be disappointed in any way. Thank you for the most magical day. X Deb & Craig

Well. What a lovely hotel. Wallpaper amazing but the walls are paper thin. On one night had to listen to sex in next room and then toilet habits.on one night woke up at 1.30am by a faulty fire alarm, staff running round trying to sort it. Staff were lovely but uniforms did not leave much to imagination. Gaping shirts ect. They tried. I was there for a va cay and funeral and suffer p.t.s.d. so every day was an adventure there. It is a lovely place just needs thicker walls and maybe not take on more than they can manage. Came home and laughed like we had been in a carry on movie. If I was not so easy going may have got miffed but its personal choice. ..
