We've been there twice in the past fortnight and have been disappointed each time. Both times there have been a lack of takeaway sandwiches. Last time they offered to make us one; however this time I asked (there was 1 sandwich, it was ham and I'm veggie, and the place was empty when I went in). the waitresses was funny about me asking if they could make me an egg mayo sandwich to take away. (Apparently they're "getting all set for Easter" which has no relevance?). She reluctantly asked the kitchen who I could hear were grumpy about making one. I sat down, visible number on a spoon as given, and waited...and waited...and waited... Meanwhile several groups of people came in and were served. Eventually I asked if they'd forgotten my sandwich to be told "it didn't go through to the kitchen"...she'd asked the kitchen before I paid!! I sat on a table right in front of them so I was visible, so there's no excuse! I'm diabetic and needed food, but couldn't wait for them to attempt to get their act together to make a simple sandwich, so I asked for a refund and left. What makes me laugh is that they have "save our centre" stickers in the loo... Well seeing as there were more staff than customers, and the staff are totally incompetent, and none of the shops apart from the gin one were open even though it's the start of half term, I'm not surprised if it shuts. The cafe in particular needs new staff and new management.

Came on a cold December day, and had the Welsh Lamb Cawl, which was absolutely delicious. Warm, hearty and filling. We came back the next day to have it again ahead of another hike, and also purchased some Caerphilly cheese to add to the Cawl I intend to make at home. The cafe itself was clean, tidy and quiet. I suspect due to the cold winter weather it wasn't that busy. Staff were friendly and helpful. Would recommend this place for a quick food stop if you're in the area, defo have the Cawl! Also, dogs are welcome which always a plus!

This was a lovely experience. The staff were attentive and kind, and the place was warm and cosy. There are great views of the mountains from this cafe, and the food is great too. I especially liked the cake. I’d definitely come back here.

Love the Welsh experience had the cawl. Just turn the music off or make it Welsh singing. You go to a place like this that is all about Wales and eat listening to Tina Turner belting out

We have been visiting this place for approx 20 years whilst on holiday, it's a bit of a tradition for us and we love visiting it, we always end up spending quite a bit of mone there as they have some really nice gifts. But this time we were a bit disappointed in the past the owners would always have time for a chat. But now they show you to the table and before you have time to sit down they are on you to take your order and that's all they seamed interested in and that's taking money. The staff look miserable and don't speak unless you want to buy. It doesn't cost anything to smile and ask how your days been or were your from or are you going anywhere nice. It's called customer service!

Brilliant little cafe, light and airy space, clean and well kept. Coped admirably with a very busy wet August lunchtime and provided us with scrumptious lunch (including hearty vegan options) for a very reasonable bill. The cheery helpful staff were a delight. Overall the craft centre is excellent attraction and this really is its heart.

An update to a previous review. Called in en route to Pembroke last Friday and this place has undertaken huge improvement. Was very impressed with the range of hot and cold food on offer as well as fresh bakes. Although there was plenty of people there it never felt busy as the staff are efficient and the queue at the till goes down very quickly. Will be calling again on our way home 👍

Expensive of course, brioche bun wasn't brioche (bait and switch tactics, illegal). Far too many gluten free cakes. All the nice ones were gluten free which basically ruins them. Needs options for both normal and awkward people

Called in for a snack and ordered a teacake and a pot of tea along with the soup of the day. Money duly taken and told to go find seat. Food arrived but sadly soup was not hot and there was no cutlery to eat our food. My partner went back in to a long queue. Finally he came back but my soup was even cooler so I took it back and had to wait in the queue once more. The cook saw me and asked what the matter was (well I think that's what he asked me because I couldn't hear him). There was a look if dismay from him but no apology, he just walked miserably back into the kitchen. The young lady gave me a fresh bowl which had less soup in than my previous. Obviously this was my forefit. Staff were pleasant enough but too busy taking the money and to slow making the Barista coffee. Would I come again.....I'd have to think twice.

Disappointed in the gluten free options - basically it’s jacket potato or soup. So ordered a jacket potato with cheese and beans - apparently! Could barely see any cheese, and what they called beans, were a congealed mess that did not resemble what you would expected for baked beans. Then the gf chocolate cake that we took away to eat at home…. Dry, stodgy, not what I would call a nice treat! Really unimpressed and won’t be coming back for food next time we visit the craft centre
