The Cornish Bakery in Dumfries & Galloway

Called in for a snack and a cup of tea and to be honest nothing startling. The staff were fine but quite expensive and the food wasn’t great.

Drinks, cakes and sausage rolls good. Cheese and tomatoes pastries very cold, not informed these were not warm. Bacon and cheese pastry was inedible and think undercooked. Staff not friendly at all

Popped in for lunch and was welcomed by very friendly and cheerful staff who were only to happy to help with any dietary questions I had. The food and latte coffee I had was delicious and they had a wide variety of goodies to choose from. The cafe itself was very clean, bright and had a lovely atmosphere. I will certainly be returning and would highly recommend it.

Called in for a coffee, lovely place, only wanted a coffee as it was early but the food looked amazing, will try food next time for sure. Staff really friendly.

Great selection of cakes! I also had the chicken masala pastie and it was delicious. As well as the latte I had with the great art on top! All staff were great, I will definitely be back soon!

We had a worker named holly and she was very polite and recommended some of her faves and she had a good choice would defo recommend coming here for food and a coffee everyone is very kind

We are growing fans of the Cornish Bakery and have eaten in a number of their locations, including the one at Gretna on a few occasions. Usually we go for the pasties, which are delicious but, having had a hotel breakfast that morning, but not wanting to miss the opportunity of a visit, we just opted for coffee and a pastry. There isn't a huge range of pastries and cakes, but they are all freshly baked, generous portions and presented well. My other half had a Raspberry and White Chocolate Bronut and pronounced it tasty, although he would have loved it to be just a little bit moister and more sticky! I had a slice of carrot cake with creamy icing, moist and crumbly. Coffee is always good here and the environment is open, light and airy, with outdoor seating too. A consistently good choice.

My go to lunch spot when I'm at work, chicken massala is great and a chocolate torsade is probably one of my favourite things ever.

Me and my hubby were making a trip to see some family in Scotland and are now on our way back home to North Yorkshire. Stopped off at the Caledonia Park™ in Gretna Green for a bite to eat and something to drink. We definitely picked the right spot! When we walked in, we were greeted by a lovely young Northern girl with red hair (was a welcome surprise hearing that accent north of the border, made me feel right at home from the start!). She made me a tasty latte with a beautiful rosetta on top which I was very impressed by! The food was also excellent, she recommended me a beef & chipotle pasty, I must say it was very scrumptious, just wish I had room for one more teehee! We will surely make another visit when we are back up the road! Definitely recommend.

Fabulous bakery! Staff extremely friendly. Went in for coffee & and the lovely pastry smells tempted us to have food as well - all baked on site!! Lovely and clean, great value for money - will definitely be visiting again when we pass later on this year! Thank you!!

I had a fantastic time! The food here was brilliant. I had a fruit scone with jam and cream, my goodness it was lovely. I felt right at home as the service was great and staff were so friendly. The tall lady behind the counter, Julie I believe, was fantastic, so welcoming. Gave me a right giggle when she started ringing a bell outside. Overall, I couldn't recommend this place enough. In the words of the great Schwarzenegger "I'll be back"

Stopped here for lunch when doing some clothes shopping at Caledonia Park and was quite impressed. The staff were polite and friendly and £6 for a coffee and cheese and tomato turnover isn't much more than Greggs. I enjoyed this so much I treated myself to a Danish pastry for £2.80 that was just as good. Also loved the cubicle seating and artwork on the walls and I'd say The Cornish Bakery is the best cafe in Caledonian Park.

The Cornish Bakery is fabulous, I have been several times since it opened. Drinks always hot and the food fresh and tasty. The team are always so welcoming and Hannah always remembers what I have. It’s also dog-friendly which is brilliant!

We only recently discovered The Cornish Bakery and, until we were looking into places to eat at the Gretna Green outlet, we hadn't realised that there are branches throughout the country. The pasties here are delicious, moist yet firm pastry and filled to the brim; even the crimping deserves to be eaten. My other half chose a Spiced Cauliflower & Onion Bhaji (vegan) pasty and declared it so delicious that he might even concede that one could manage without meat! My Bacon, Leek and Cheese pasty was creamy and full of flavour, real comfort food. The coffee is really good here too. Staff were chatty and friendly and service was quick. The environment was light and bright, a variety of seating, including some booths which looked a little like beach huts. Sadly, there isn't a Cornish Bakery anywhere near us, so it will have to remain an occasional treat.

Food here is always lovely, pasties kept super hot. Always so much choice. Staff are friendly and polite but Gordon is amazing. He Always tells me about new menu items and helps me pick dairy and gluten free options when I'm trying to be good as these food groups trigger a flare up of a health condition, he always has time for a chat with my son when we come together. Nothing is too much trouble for anyone.

Popped into the cornish bakery at Gretna today and was greeted by a member of your staff called Jade, excellent customer service, very polite and went that extra mile to meet my requirements, the latte she made was delicious just what I needed after the stress of Christmas shopping 🙂

Popped in while shopping and was immediately welcomed with friendly smiles and polite staff. I ordered a Latte and the young girl Jade who was on the coffee machine at the time made a lovely latte art on top, she was bubbly and chatty the whole time and made sure that everything was to my needs. The coffee was brillant as well. Would definitely recommend to all my family and friends☺️

Was down at the outlet foe Xmas shopping called into the cornish bakery, very busy at lunch time... didn't have long to wait, Tracey on service was brilliant, plenty of selection off pastries and cakes to choice from, also pasties... Had a latte which was lovely and rhe young lady made a lovely latte art on top... Nothing was to much trouble Excellent service and great food Will certainly be back and will be recommending this bakery to my family and friends

unfortunately we didn't have a good experience. Our table had been cleared, but not wiped so I had to find someone to clean the crumbs etc from the table. many tables still had dirty crockery on them. Our hot chocolates appeared to have forgotten the chocolate and it simply tasted like hot milk, to the extent that of the 3 we ordered only one was drunk.

After a long drive to visit the outlet we decided on a latte to help break up the visit, I ordered them then realised it was card only, I was very disappointed with this & in hind sight should have walked out, cash is legal tender & you have no right to refuse, I will never purchase another item from you, you’re just playing into the banks hands! Such a shame as the setting & booths were nice but a lady in a wheelchair couldn’t get to the toilets as there was no push button to operator the door so she had to request help which is patronising & emphasised her disability, shame on you!

At Caledonia Park there are the 2 'main' coffee retailers but the Cornish Bakery has hands down the best coffee. The original cornish pasty is a winner as well. Recommended

Lovely premises with small private cubicles and traditional seating. Very clean, bright and atmoshperic however, whilst we were simply having coffee and scones, the food was a real disappointment. Cutting the scones left almost powder as the two scones broke into a million pieces. Dry, tastless and one has to say, really inedible without a spoon.

Very good place to visit yet again when in Scotland I always visit here staff are great. Bet there managed buy a good manager

What a great place. You can watch them making their own scones and wow are they good! My husband and I agreed they were the best scones we've had in a very long time. Good service too. Would highly recommend.

Very busy bakery, but nothing is to much trouble, staff were great, Hannah was on the ball on the front, answered all out questions, beautiful selection of cakes pastries...plenty to choice from.. A very cold October morning when we visited. Because we had our dog we sat outside. When my wife went to order and mentioned we were sitting outside we were told to bring our dog into the warm. By chance we had found a dog friendly place to eat. The service was welcoming and friendly (thank you Gordon) and our food, I had a pastie and my wife had a cherry and almond croissant, was delicious and we will certainly come here again.

If your visting or a local you really need to try the Almond Brownie its delicious, the staff are lovely and very helpful, bakery is very welcoming and has lovely boothes

Would like to leave a special shout out to Tracey, been in a few times now and always greets us with a friendly hello, goes above and beyond every time and even remembers our name. The Cornish bakery is very lucky to have such a hard working, wonderful woman on their team 😃

Was here yesterday with friends for lunch. I had the feta swirl with a latte, it was delicious. My friend had a sausage roll and a flat white. The staff were really friendly and the atmosphere was relaxing. Would recommend.

Stopped for a snack and was very pleasantly surprised by the quality of the excellent vegetable pasty and pastries on display. Friendly staff and you can see bakers working through the glass partitions. Definitely worth a visit.
