Reading all the review I was really looking forward to our visit here. The staff were friendly and the place clean and tidy. I wanted a hot quiche but was told there would be a 20 minute wait so we both had cock-a-leekie soup . There was chicken and bit of leek but this was a very thin plate of soup with no real substance the ratio of stock to the other ingredients was poor. I was also upset by the fact that they allow dogs in the cafe. There was one sitting with it's owner in the corner and it whined all the time we were there . The owner did not seem to be bothered by this .

As someone who's worked for 20 years in hospitality I can not rate this place highly enough. Service from the staff is wonderful and attentive, food is delicious (tuna melt toastie and soup). Cleanliness and attention to detail are spot on.

The food is good quality, well prepared and presented and reasonably priced - served by polite, pleasant and non-intrusive staff. It is good value for money and is just off the main road which now bypasses the village but in an area with the historic Glamis Castle and nice easy walking.

My somewhat finicky (due to illhealth) requests and enquiries were dealt with by polite and helpful staff seriously and courteously, I was not made to feel a nuisance as happens in so many establishments. The fact that the food was delicious made this visit an absolute delight and we will return. Thank you to all.

First time visiting this little cafe inside the corner shop/post office. My wife had the club sandwich which she said was the best she had ever had. I had the soup and dessert. The dessert was raspberry and coconut sponge with custard and very reasonably priced compared with other places. Slightly disappointed with the soup which was very thin and needed some body to it. Young waitress was very efficient and pleasant and handled service well. Will definitely be back.

Great cafe, lovely decor and atmosphere. The staff are incredibly friendly and efficient and will accommodate special dietary requirements. The food is homemade and delicious, lots to choose from on the menu and a great specials board. Cakes and scones also look fantastic. It has traditional choices as well as the artisan style stuff including smashed avocado etc sourdough is soon to be on the specials board too. Generous portions and very well priced. Very highly recommended.

4 out of 5 of our table were fed after waiting for 1 hour. 5th order was missed and no discount was offered. Disappointed at what could have been a lovely birthday lunch. Unfortunately won’t be back after this experience.

We are pretty much regular visitors to the village of Glamis as it's less than five miles from home. We have always known you could sit down and take coffee in the Post Office Corner Shoppie, but have never actually ventured in before today ... when we did ... and discovered a very pleasant surprise indeed. Behind the exceptionally tidy and well-stocked shop itself is annexed the most delightful and spacious seating area with a good ambience, decor and menu ... all very village-ous and tempting. Mid-day more than two hours past, we plumped for the soup, tea and toasted teacake ... altogether constituting a tasty and very pleasant afternoon treat, with attention to detail in the comfortable furnishings, crockery, cutlery, etc. mirrored in the quality of the food we had. Typically Glamis ... The Strathmore Arms already setting the standards for quality in this quaint and beautiful village, all overseen by the authorities at Glamis Castle, this wee teashop-style operation fits right into the mould. I believe it has just come under new management and it looks as though the village shop is in the best of hands. Good Luck and all the best for your future in One of The Finest Tourist Attraction Villages in all of Scotland.

On a holiday to Montrose and we sat in and ordered a fish supper, tasted lovely all freshly made. The best we have had in a long time. Would highly recommend the meal. Kai told us he is changing the name to Montrose fish and chips so look out for it on the High Street.

didnt stay at the rooms, dined in the restaurant. Small but very well decorated place - loved the bathrooms too. Tasting menu is absolutely amazing - the cauliflower veloute was the surprise standout of the evening. Haggis bon bons were also delicious! As was the salmon course. Everything was delicious! Great service too - Maria was a great host. Loved the little touch of leaving the tasting menu near your table so you could follow it. Hope to be back next time we are up in Scotland.
