The Corn Exchange is one of the best Wetherspoons we've visited. Such a beautiful building, spacious, clean and inviting. Refreshing drinks and tasty food, good value for good money. Friendly, accommodating, staff.

What a lovely building, and so well preserved, with real panache and style. Just brilliant as soon as you walk in the door, and up the stairs. This is another esample of when Wetherspoon's get it right, they really do! We had the steak meals, and with a drink included, with salad as a side, a really honest price! Lagers at honest fair prices, too, unlike so many incoming pubs now in both Suffolk and where we are from near Norwich. Staff always a little young, sadly, but, again, Spoons do encourage older and sometimes retired staff to join a very professional team. Keep up the good work, as you are a lot better than so many other pubs, grills, bars.

In terms of the beer (always good with a great choice) and the menu (cheap) this is a typical Wetherspoons but it is set in a wonderful historic building which has been sympathetically renovated, well done Wetherspoons for preserving it. It was a pleasure to sit in a massive area with comfortable seating and enjoy the place.

So with this in mind I grabbed the drinks and headed to the table placed the drinks down put my wallet away and swoosh the food arrived…!.. I instantly sent mine back as it was incorrect so the staff member grunted and took it back then returned a moment later, inside the burger was a tiny limp lettuce and a soggy tomato the bacon and chicken were room temperature at best and the bun was dry they couldn’t be bothered to even toast it a little it was a was very half hearted effort indeed and nobody seem give a monkeys, As I live in this town I will make every effort to avoid this Place at every opportunity for the foreseeable future a very miserable visit indeed.

When I bit into my burger it was pink throughout so I asked and got it replaced, 3 minutes later my friend bit into her burger and it was even worse it was pretty much raw so I spoke to the waitress and said it was too pink, she said she was going to get I replaced for us. We waited 10- 15 minutes but she never reappeared, by this point we were no longer hungry and feeling a little sick from the sight of the burger, never even got a proper apology might think twice before coming back.

Stopped off in Bury St Edmunds for lunch on the 29th July 2018. Looked like they were having a distribution problem. No lager (not a problem for me, but it is supposed to be a pub-restaurant), no chicken nuggets or Happy Monkey for my daughter, no pizza for me. The other menus were unaffected. Luckily I managed to get a pizza in the Cambridge Wethies two weeks later (although I don't appreciate a drinks can being put in the glass given to drink it from). Also, the wraps appear to come with less - I'm sure they used to have a little salad. Perhaps if Tim spent a little less time trying to promote Brexit and a little more time focusing on customer service?

After coming regularly since it opened its doors, me and my group of friends have decided to eat elsewhere. Since late last year, I have had to send back food for arriving cold or with things missing on a regular basis. The prices have risen steadily, making it more appealing to go elsewhere to have a decent hot meal for the same money. Our biggest gripe is the way the staff serve you at the bar. There is no consistency and serving of people in turn. Other customers have spoken about this too, and are really fed up with it. We have been here many times when it first opened and the food was really nice and staff friendly. We decided to have breakfast as we hadn't been for a long time, could not believe the difference! I'm disabled so we have to use the lift, this smelled of urine, the metal bar supposed to be holding the carpet down before you get into the lift was broken and bent up causing a hazard and the carpet was ripped and a dangerous trip hazard. We ordered a Latte and Hot chocolate, no hot chocolate as they had run out! We ordered 2 traditional breakfasts and whilst we were waiting for it to arrive I observed staff clearing tables, none washed/wiped the tables down just wiped the crumbs onto the floor with a napkin if available, otherwise it was left dirty. When breakfast arrived the butter for the toast was put on top of the food, which not only caused liquid butter but is not hygenic. The food was edible but not enjoyable, egg was cold, sausage cheap quality, beans tasted awful, bacon ok but nothing special and hash browns overcooked/warmed up for a long time.

Took my kids and their other halves here for an early dinner prior to a gig on a Sunday evening. It was typically busy but we secured a large table and decided on our orders. With the 14oz steak on a managers offer for £6.99, it didn't take long to choose! Our five main meals were served within 20 minutes and were all good, my steak was brilliant, and served with a baked potato at my request. I really can't fault the value for money here, it's an asset for the town and other eateries should take note of the reasonable cost of the alcohol here and try and be more competitive. Will visit again.

The food is just as you would expect from Wetherspoons, good value, good choice but made all the better because it's in a wonderful old building. We called in for lunch on a lovely sunny day, which made this historic building sparkle. It would have been better if there had been a few more staff on duty on this busy Thursday, but overall a good lunch in very pleasant surrounding.

Met friends here for breakfast on Sunday, what was good value for money and a nice breakfast wasn't as good as normal. Been for breakfast several times in the past but this visit was the worst. One large breakfast wasn't very hot only tepid, both the egg Benedict were missing the rocket. Fried eggs were not available with fried breakfast only scrambled. No apologies were made for the missing items and the server that collected the plates didn't ask if we enjoyed our meal comment or spoke hardly, bordering on rude. Other places in town offer similar breakfasts for similar money, JDW need to up their game or lose trade.

We were in Newmarket with family while in holiday from Australia and called in here for brunch. We were amazed at the quality of the food, service and staff attention. We had four 'big breakfasts' including as much tea and coffee as we wanted and the bill was under £25.

We have been going to Wetherspoons in Bury for a long time and always thought it very good value but a few months ago thet changed the menu when you used to get a drink at a lower price with some food you don't now and i was charged 85p for b-b-q sauce!!extras that add up!!!!Also we had a problem with our bill and the Team Leader there was less than helpful.

Very pleasant meal from a varied menu. Good value for money. Very popular with people returning week on week. Queueing at the bar to order can be a lengthy process.

Cheap and cheerful.Excellent value for money in the historic Corn Exchange even though it does resemble a posh school dinner hall

Location is excellent in the former Corn Exchange building in Bury SE. The food was typical Wetherspoon fare and you know what to expect. Service was good and staff were friendly. Who can beat fish and chips and a glass of wine for less than six quid or so.

lovely building. Great relaxed place to have a meal but does get very busy lunchtimes. Awfully difficult to get a table from 11.30 to 2pm.

If I was reviewing this like a proper pub restaurant then sure it wouldn't get 4*. But at £5.25 for a cheese toastie, chips and pint it is exceptional value and the toastie was nice as well. Much as I want to dislike the spoons, you can't fault their business model and for the price it was exceptional. The BSE sponns is probably the nicest one you will ever visit, since it's housed in the old corn exchange. All ages in here which is both a major pro and con.

One of the best Wetherspoons with a beautiful building and lovely atmosphere. Better selection of drinks than you may expect at great prices. Not the tacky experience I was expecting

Called in here to look at the antiques. We bought a small item and were served by the most miserable sour faced, unfriendly, man we had ever seen. On the way out we bought some of the excellent cake
