Sunday Lunch, set price buffet. Well worth a try I thought, and very pleased I was. Nothing outrageous But very nice. Poppadum's, pickles and appetisers served to table, Then serve yourself buffet consisting of 3 meat dishes 3 veg dishes, rice and bread. i was happily pleased with the quality of the food and service. Such a shame we were the only customers at 12 noon. I could find no cause to give anything other that a very good review.

Went for a business meal with my employer who lives in Ongar and recommended yourselves for a celebratory occasion. The food was delicious and the owner recommended a dish called Chicken Adha Diya and was absolutely delicious. My employer had a Chicken Dhansak and I had my favourite dish which was chicken tikka biryani and sides we had an onion Baji and lastly but not least a roti bread. We dined on a Friday evening to celebrate my wife's birthday and this was our first visit since this restaurant was reopened as the Coriander. We were not disappointed, it was easy to book online with a prompt confirmation email. All the staff were friendly and welcoming and service was attentive with a cosy, intimate atmosphere. The menu is excellent and while predominantly Indian, also offers some Bangladeshi and Nepalese specialities. All our meals were delicious and perfectly cooked and presented and very reasonably priced. I can recommend the Chef's Special Biryani which is a mix of chicken and lamb tikka with vegetables, spinach, basmati rice and a vegetable curry. At the end of our meal, my wife was presented with a lovely ice cream cake with an impressive rocket candle on and the staff sang "happy birthday" which was much appreciated. With a number of Indian restaurants to choose from in Ongar, this is now definitely our favourite. If you haven't been there, give it a try, I hope you won't be disappointed.

We ordered a take Away of 2 popular dishes I ordered online. It was ready as stated. Unfortunately the food was not good. It was much spicier than advertised (bearing in mind I regularly order the same dishes) We ordered chicken tikka but this was not tikka but regular chicken. The chicken was so over cooked and chewy. The sauce was conjealed and didn't seem fresh. Very old oil seemed to have been used as it didn't taste fresh (even though we waited 50 mins for it to be ready) I would not recommend it here and it's a shame as there are many other Indian restaurants in Epping and the surrounding area. Overall I would say I will not return I called the manager out of courtesy and he offered me a refund off of my next order but there will not be a next order!

Charming restaurant newly restored and represented beautifully !!! Great food, great service exquisitely presented ! Will deffo make this my go to !!!

I ordered Lamb Maharajah and rice as a takeaway earlier this week. This was my first time trying this restuarant, and I was really impressed. The Staff were all very polite and friendly, and the meal was really, really nice. The lamb was so tender, and the curry tasted fresh and fragrent, and really tasty. The portion was also a good size. I haven't enjoyed a curry as much as this one for some time. I will definitely be ordering from here again shortly. Thanks for a lovely meal.

Went here tonight with my family which included my 7 year Granddaughter, the food was excellent as were the staff, very attentive. However, our meal was ruined by the arrival of a group of Asian males who thought they owned the place and could shout and swear at the top of their voices, they spoke to the staff in the restaurant as though they were something they had scraped off the bottom of their shoes, one actually ask the waiter’ do you know who I am’! It turns out they own the takeaway The Only Way is Fish, which it seems they thought gave them the right to keep using the C word and and any other expletive they could think of as loud as they could and to call the management out when they were asked to keep the swearing down as there were families in the restaurant , they actually said ‘ I don’t want that waiter serving us any more, after he spoke to us like that, after all are Asians!!’ If this restaurant is prepared to accept this behaviour as acceptable we will definitely not be returning, this group of obnoxious arrogant men should have been asked to leave and not tried to use the fact that they were also local traders to their advantage, obviously the management at this restaurant thought otherwise!!

We have been here twice now and both visits were very enjoyable. The food is excellent and the service very good. It is very classy inside. The toilet is spotlessly clean. We will be back soon.

10 out of 10 this restaurant is a must the food is amazing staff absolutely wonderful. Best indian restaurant i have ever been to. You won't regret a visit.

Called in during the week for an evening meal. Made very welcome. Food was fantastic. I eat Indian food regularly and this is definitely the best in Essex. Not the cheapest but excellent value for money. Thoroughly recommend.

Delicious, tasty dishes all were fragrant and fresh. Fresh popadoms, naans, paneer, prawns and chicken, lovely sauces. Plenty of choice, good service, clean newly decorated WCs. New linen and great company. Breast of chicken which was moist and not thigh meat as I’ve been served in other places. It was reasonably priced and the wine was good. I recommend you try here, I’m sure you won’t be disappointed. It’s our new favourite Indian restaurant.

Travelled from Shenfield to try this restaurant on the Monday after the coronation weekend. Very good service, excellent quality food and a menu that varies from the norm. Let’s hope it continues.We’ll be back soon!
