Had a lovely evening at The Chambers. Food was excellent. Amazing flavours, totally different experience from your standard Indian restaurant with a nod to traditional style Indian food served in a modern way. Serving staff were attentive and friendly. Decor was modern and good atmosphere. We’ll definitely be back.

what a lovely little curry house, me and friends had nearly every starter to share and not one missed the mark!! I had butter chicken as a main, drinks were fabulous and not too pricey either. loved every bite!

Had a takeaway meal for 3 at £50 per head, yet no one wanted to take any of the leftovers! Sauces were really runny with not much meat or seafood. Best bit was the soft shell crab and broccoli. Dhal was thin and flavourless as were the chicken and prawns. Mashed aubergine was unappealing on the palette and the eye. Lower and upper kitchens cook at different and uncoordinated speeds so some food gets soft or cold. Overall a disappointing meal for the money vs other local Indian restaurants.

Quite simply one of the nicest dining experiences I’ve ever had. I can’t fault anything. The food was world class and the staff were the friendliest people ever. Great decor too

As soon as I walked in the staff were very attentive. The waiter advised me to try the Makhni-Choose curry and asked the chef to spice it up slightly more for me which he did perfectly. The curry was fantastic which I highly recommend. From the look, feel and atmosphere of the restaurant, to the extremely friendly staff and of course excellent food, this is a fabulous place to eat.

Average north indian cooking. Not greasy, acceptable. Some nice tandoori dishes. Worth visit once. Friendly staff. Parking available

The food was absolutely amazing… I would definitely recommend giving this place a visit! I’m already looking forward to my next visit.

Some time since last visited. Chicken Biriyani was not as toothsome as I recall. Scrappy pieces of chicken not succulent whole. Bit of a slog. Shared starter with my wife which was very good. Tables far too close together and very noisy. Difficult to have a conversation. Will not be returning, sadly.

The food was all perfect. Delicately flavoured & not overly spiced salmon. Good chilli paneer, 10/10 service & ambience. A real treat!

Ate here with friends on a busy Friday evening. All elements of the meal were excellent and high quality and I tried a few things that I would normally not go for but everything was good and nothing was wasted. Service was also excellent, I wish we had an Indian restaurant in Billericay that was this good!

Beautiful small restaurant, amazing decor outside and inside with a faux floral tree in the centre of the restaurant covering the ceiling, can view the chefs cooking in the tandoor ovens. Food was amazing and cocktails great too. Staff polite and caring and amazing service. Will be visiting again for definite. Thanks for a fantastic taste experience

Wow what a find! Walked passed many times and tonight we booked a table. Such amazing service and brilliant food! We are both veggie and I don’t eat cheese, the waiter (who I now know is one of the owners) was so good explaining the menu and even how they can change dishes to suite me. Really recommend the momo (probably spelt wrong) soya special if they have it, and the beetroot starter. Great atmosphere as well very buzzy for a Wednesday night! We will be back, thank you for a lovely evening

Nothing is too much to ask from the friendly owners and staff. Couldn’t think of a better place to go to celebrate an occasion or simply spend a rare free evening without the kids. Incredible food, great atmosphere and wonderful staff. See you again soon.

Can not fault the food, ambiance and the perfect service at Tandoor At the Chambers. By far my favourite Indian restaurant. Great for couples, groups and parties. Try the Kale Chaat. Doubt i have eaten anything like this before. The Best!

Food was tasty but..... Paper menus were dirty. No need for that! Waiting staff are untrained. Clearing plates is an easy skill. Didn't see a wine list so asked for a bottle of Rose. Chose one of 2. Unmentioned high price came later.

After having to cancel our reservation here 3 times previously, no virus (no I don’t have it) or restrictions was going to keep me and the hubby from going here tonight. Hands down the best Indian food I’ve eaten outside India itself. From papadoms through starters to mains, the flavours and attention to detail were superb. Service was lovely too. It may have been our first time here, but certainly will not be our last as am looking forward to trying out some other dishes on the fabulous menu.The owner along with his beautiful wife have got this spot on. Myself and my fiance have now eaten at TATC multiple times (together and with friends), plus countless takeaways during lockdown. Quite honestly the food and service is absolutely faultless, the owners are incredibly warm and accommodating and despite it not being the cheapest of restaurants it is worth every penny. I dream of their paalak & kale chaat on a weekly basis and if I could eat it everyday I would! We're back again this Saturday night with friends for dinner and everytime we visit with friends they are always bowled over by how great the food is. Would 100% recommend!

We have recently moved to Woodford and it was our visit to this restaurant. A proper North Indian restaurant with great food and service. I see a lot of reviews complaining about price, yes it’s pricey but this isn’t your Friday night curry house that serves Bangladeshi cuisine and not Indian. We did find the food to be less spicy but next time we will ask! One recommendation is to have option of carafe with some wines to make the drinks order both flexible and economical.

Amazing food. Felt as though I was in a London cool restaurant instead of Buckhurst Hill. The owner and his wife are lovely. Very welcoming, and couldn’t do more for you. The food and drinks amazing. Have been to chambers a few times with friends and family. Amazing to have a restaurant of such high standards a few minutes walk from my house. To date, I have never been disappointed. The menu has so many traditional delights and a variety of popular as well as unique dishes. I have only ever eaten in the restaurant up until now. Again,I have only positive feedback. I've been a couple of times now, once with friends and once with family for Mums birthday and its completely delicious. The service is fab, the food is so tasty and the cocktails are to die for....its also very pretty! Since returning from India I struggle to find indian food that comes close to what I had out there however this is close! Its like a more local Dishoom and its great having it around the corner. Will be returning!!

Good local restaurant with authentic Indian food and friendly staff. I did think that the portion size could be more reasonable, left feeling slightly hungry.

I attended a private party here, the food was really tasty. I am a vegetarian and have eaten at a lot of Indian vegetarian restaurants, this is definitely one of the best! The mocktails and cocktails were divine. Service was spot on. Looking forward to visiting again!

I was blown away by the excellent quality and flavours of the food here.Some starters were very well seasoned which won’t suit all palates but was ok with me.Service was great and overall I felt this was a value for money experience. Definitely an irregular treat for me given the prices but absolutely well worth it. This restaurant has to be tried, highly recommend the lamb chops but in fact anything from the tandoor is delicious.

All the food from the tandoori was amazing. The other dishes were less so. Portions were small. Drinks were expensive (city of London prices) We would go back but only to order food from the tandoor. Service was patchy however, we went on a Friday evening so perhaps that had something to do with it. We’d give it a second chance.

Once again, I had the most amazing dinner at the Tandoor. The food is presented beautifully and tasted as good as it looked. Service friendly and efficient. Will be back again very soon.

We ate at the restaurant last night for the first time, Found it a brilliant change from usual Indian restaurants. Very cosy atmosphere as not too big. Staff were very friendly and attentive. The food presentation was very impressive and the food could not be faulted. Will definitely be going again and will be recommending to friends.

Had heard very good things about this restaurant and glad to say we were not disappointed .. very nice building but a lot smaller than we were expecting: very cosy and different. Firstly I have to thank the owner and his wife as they were very attentive and they knew it was our 15th wedding anniversary and gave us complimentary champagne.. had a lovely chat with both husband and wife and hopefully the wife has had her baby safe n sound. I have visited Tandoor at the Chambers a number of times, mostly with my girlfriend. The food is sublime and one of the highest quality Indians you will find in the area. Service has been good when I have visited and the couple who own the restaurant are very welcoming. A touch on the pricey side but you are paying for quality and well presented food.

This is our local restaurant and we are so grateful for it! We visited last night with friends and as always had the most beautiful cocktails, wine and food. All served with a smile and always lovely to be personally greeted by the owners Manisha and Vip. They check up that everything is good during your meal, giving a truly personal touch. Love it!

A casual restaurant with good service. The food was more modern than usually found in a neighbourhood restaurant. The service was polite and friendly. Our group particularly liked the biryani and the salmon tikka. I prefer my indian food to be a little more spicy than what was served but otherwise very happy.

Tried this place after someone had recommended it, I found everything perfect from start to finish, the food was really tasty and the restaurant had a good vibe to it, the staff and owners are really friendly and you can feel their passion for the business. I would suggest they add a few more options for vegetarians.

A fantastic, upscale Indian restaurant that offers authentically cooked dishes bursting with flavour. Staff are friendly and wonderfully attentive. The atmosphere is upbeat yet relaxed so you can still feel your night out is a casual one. The kitchen is on show, and makes for an interesting focal point. The dishes are unique and offer elevated takes on some of the staples from more typical curry houses. The prices are fairly steep, though this is expected given the area and the quality, which is excellent. All in all, a brilliant restaurant to visit for a treat.

One of my favourite places to get Indian food at it has a western twist and the food is fantastic! I would deffo recommend the chatt and the lamb it’s so yummy!! To be fair we always over order as the dishes are mouth watering! One of my fav restaurants

One of the best in Essex. Lovely food. Delicate dishes which are clearly a cut above the norm. Service perfect. Not your normal curry house by a long shot but a special occasion to enjoy and saviour. Always a treat and has never disappointed. Not cheap but you excellent value for money fir what they deliver. I have been 5 times.

We've been several times & the staff are great-very professional but also good fun. the food is modern Indain & is extremely good. I highly recommend this place

Made a booking weeks in advance through Bookatable and got emailed an hour before saying we had cancelled our reservation. Phone the restaurant and the are closed as gone on holiday for two weeks. Don’t understand why booking was accepted and why cancelled at such short notice.

Friday night fair-well dinner for son why was going on a school trip for a week! This place never disappoints whether it’s friends or family. The service is always impeccable and I love that they employ diverse and interesting young waiters and waitresses .

The food here was lovely. You do end up spending a touch more than most local Indian restaurants but it is worth it! It’s so fresh and well done and the restaurant looks beautiful and have a great atmosphere. Best to book for weekends though as it can get busy

We booked a table here following the good reviews. The menu doesn't have many options, but we knew that in advance, and to be honest, sometimes it is much better to have less options, as they taste better.

Very friendly staff and owners and the starters were very good, small choice for mains and unfortunately the chicken they serve is the thigh in curry dishes, my wife had the tandoori chicken also thigh and she did not enjoy it. They did say in future ask for the breast and that’s what I will do. Nice atmosphere and good location. Hope they do improve on the chicken they serve.

West end prices but the food is so average and not really that authentic. Sorry disappointed! We went there for a birthday meal and the dishes we ordered seemed quite basic and too pricey. Not really thrilled .

I have been to Tandoor At the Chambers several times and cannot recommend it enough, family dinners, quiet dinners, birthdays and New years they have all been so great. The food is exceptional and with the added twist that is always a surprise. The owners are hard working, generous and so polite. The service is casual but keeps with the atmosphere. Nothing is too much trouble. A definite gem and much needed authentic indian food in Buckhurst Hill.

We recently held our company Christmas lunch at the Tandoor at the Chambers. The food was second to none, the atmosphere was good and the service was impeccable.

It's our local we love it, we go there on the regular and order takeaway from there often too. Very lucky to have it on our door step. Great hosts and brilliant food.

The food here is wonderful and this wasn’t our first visit. I was taking my media manager out for a Xmas dinner. I booked weeks in advanced and asked for a good table. Given a table by the door and every time it opened it was freezing plus, queuing people who were not seated were crowding us. The meal took time to arrive as it was freshly cooked which was ok, until during dessert and coffee we were asked if we could move to another table, as a table of six wanted a square table which what we were on. They owners did apologise however, we felt rushed, in the way and embarrassed as people were looking at us having to be moved. Not once were we offered a drink, coffee, of an offer to take out drinks which all had to be moved and got cold during the move. We didn’t wish to make a fuss as it was an uncomfortable situation for us all. Not really happy which is sad as the owners are lovely people

Made a booking here over the phone for my mother’s 70th birthday. I had 11 people coming from the other side of London to celebrate. Got to the restaurant for the 5:45 setting to be told they have no booking but had a name down at 8:30. We knew we didn’t book that one as we had plans after and also had young babies with us. Made to wait around while they tried to call other customers but didn’t happen. Pretty lame apology from the lady at the door considering it was a big celebration. Won’t be trying to go back again, it’s a shame as it was on my doorstep.

Very loud music, small menu, food was ok but won’t bother going back. Very expensive for what it is. Small portions and make sure that you check your bill as we were charge for wine and water that we had not ordered.

Visited here last night with friends after several recommendations and we were not disappointed. Loved everything about this restaurant from the warm welcome to the great cocktails and most of all the fantastic food. We spoke to the owners a really nice young couple who explained the origins of the food, all of which is authentic North Indian Cuisine. We will definitely be back and thoroughly recommended.

I cannot fault this place, tried it for the first time last night and were completely bowled over. It’s cosy but buzzing, the service was impeccable and the food worthy of a Michelin star! And less that £50 per head including drinks. Way better than the likes of Cinnamon Kitchen in town. Can’t wait to go back...

I never complain but this restaurant was so unprofessional. “Trying to make Indian different” does not work. Had a miniscual box of popsdoms size of a small bag of crisps so had to order another cost nearly £4 each. My main course was ok but again tiny bit of chicken not what’s on gallery photos. I waited for my naan bread after meal asked for it three times. They never took my coat never took empty drink bottles until end or asked for refill. Very expensive for very unprofessional team.

Delicious meal with an alternative twist on Indian food. Beautiful restaurant with a nice relaxed atmosphere. The chefs cook behind a glass screen in large tandoor ovens. Moderate to expensive price range more treat night for a special occasion.

Delicious meal here last night for five. Salmon tikka was fab perfectly cooked and pistachio kulfi was yummy too. My second visit but there will certainly be more in the future. Please open another branch in Wanstead as you said you might!

Stumbled upon tbis place and what a suprise it was. The best Indian food I have had outside of India - truly! Food, staff and service all incredible. Dishoom wishes it was this good. Bravo.

We have been to Tandoor At The Chambers a couple times.The first time we thought may be a one off good quality.But after a few months we took a couple friends also.The food is excellent authentic Indian cuisine. We now don't have to travel to North London for good Indian food.

First time eating here but have been recommended by many people who really know their food. The atmosphere was relaxed, the service excellent and the food out of this world. Every dish we had was freshly cooked and beautifully presented and we will certainly be returning soon.
