The Core in North Norfolk

Staying in Holt for a few days and we have been to various pubs and cafes in the area. Our last evening tonight and we all agreed that by far, our favourite meal was lunch at The Core today. Absolutely delicious, huge sandwiches and very nice coffee too. Would thoroughly recommend.

Stumbled upon this place when visiting Holt. Really tasty lunch and great coffee. The staff really stood out; very friendly. I had the Burrata Salad and husband had a toastie. Both were of a high standard. Highly recommended.

We had a great afternoon coffee and cake stop at The Core. It was a winning combination of super friendly staff, with great coffee. The dark chop oats and orange brownie is a bit special!

Such excellent service, always with a smile...this restaurant makes the GREATEST sandwiches I have ever seen...with a wonderful Italian slant. Off the main street in this lovely town, it is CERTAINLY worth going down the alley, it from the Budgens carpark to sit there and relax.

Stumbled across this little place on a rainy day in Holt. Staff were very warm and friendly. Didn't know what to expect from the Italian sandwiches but when they arrived our eyes lit up. They were fantastic. So delicious, served on a speciality Italian bread baked by a local bakery following a visit to Florence. Excellent stuff.

My wife and I found this little gem back in the winter, we went back today and once again we sampled the wonderful food on offer. The service, the food are exceptional

We were recommended this place by our daughter, who had a great lunch. There are many lunchtime eateries in Holt, but we also came to try and really enjoyed the food. The sandwiches are excellent and the ingredients were fresh and tasty. The lovely staff were very helpful and we felt unrushed. Really worth a visit when in Holt.

Our “go to” lunch spot in Holt. Friendly service and the sandwiches are amazing. Lots of choices, the bread is perfect and fillings delicious. Great coffee too!

Really delicious gourmet sandwiches, lovely Italian bread beautiful fillings. Coffee is good too. The staff are friendly and it’s a nice atmosphere.

A very small menu - 7 or so sandwiches and 2 salads. Usually a limited menu indicates that what is on offer is done very, very well. Not so in this case. The cafe itself was okay but the sticky tables were off putting. We ordered a cheese and ham toastie and a Caesar salad which the waitress said had anchovies in it and asked if that was okay. We waited a very long time for our order, roughly 40 minutes. Granted they were busy but there is absolutely no excuse for not delivering a toastie and salad within a 40 minute timeframe. When the long awaited food arrived, it was underwhelming to say the least. My husband’s Caesar salad did not have anchovies and the ‘croutons’ were thin pieces of uncooked bread. My cheese and ham toastie wasn’t good. The ham itself was good quality but it had not been prepared with love. The ndjua I ordered on the toastie was placed in large dollops and resulted in intense flavour which was unpleasant. Over all it was a frustrating experience.

Delicious gourmet sandwiches, salads etc and some of the best chips we’ve ever had (crispy served with Rosemary salt). Coffee was pretty good too! The staff were all very friendly and attentive. They had vegan options as well as meat choices.

A nice place friendly service and good food and drink , nicely located in a quiet courtyard. Personally let down by them not accepting cash as payment would be nice to have the option rather than being told card only.

This is just a brilliant place.The service is exactly as you would want, welcoming, friendly and makes you feel as though are really special without being ott.The toasted sandwiches are out of this world, I know that is hard to believe just for a toasted sandwich but wait till you try them!!! The coffee is gorgeous. It is a place you must try!!!! We will certainly be back.

This is an absolutely WONDERFUL cafe! Fresh flowers on our tables. Super friendly welcome! AMAZING toasted cheese and ham sandwiches made with VERY SPECIAL Italian bread made to the owners recipe by a local baker- beyond yummy! Highly highly recommended! Well done all the team! Do visit them! You will not be disappointed!

Really great cafe in one of the little alleyways that are common in Holt Staff are fantastic welcoming and have a sense of humour, all you need, good food and drinks.
