The Coopers in Peterborough

Poor knowledge on gluten containing foods and poor gluten free options. Not the same as what it used to be under the old management. Used to also have great knowledge and was extremely accommodating. Now, it's completely different.

Both the food and service were good. The atmosphere is very pleasant.

I came in for lunch the other day. Both Emma & Libby were lovely! The food was hot & really nice, I was also allowed to bring my dog in which was nice & he enjoyed his sausage. The food is definitely a lot better than what it used to be so I would return.

Just moved into the area and this will be my local bar. I'm well happy with that and will enjoy popping in regularly and getting to know the staff and customers. Dinner was beautiful the other night and the pub is well kept. Will definitely frequent it regularly over the next many years.

Friendly & welcoming landladies & staff. Cosy environment, fresh new decor. Family & dog friendly. Refreshing menu, plenty of choice. Great choice of drinks. Will be visiting again. Highly recommend.

Poor service forgot about tea chips and pudding and waited a long time for service unfortunately will not be going again and staff was arguing with customers about queries about food when the customer was right

The Pub is looking fantastic after a refit. We enjoyed a great meal. The new Landlady and her staff were all very welcoming. Great atmosphere would highly recommend, you really must pop in to see for yourself.

Usually a good to eat but I am disappointed in the service this evening

Fantastic pub and great staff, food was served hot and didn't have to wait long, we went on 1st of June and they had a disco on and myself and my partner had a great night drinking and singing and when our friend the landlord finished working and he joined us for a few, thank you to the landlord keep up the good work.

The last review by lola was completely wrong... the night she was there The land lord was on a night off an was socialising with the customs and enjoying himself.. pity she doesn't see how much work he puts on during the rest of the week.. scot and the team are always welcoming and do an excellent job

This pub has gone so down hill since the new landlord came in. He always seems to be drinking on the job leaving the bar unattended and sometimes leaving 1 staff member to struggle with a big queue. I witnessed this happening on June 1st. The men who work behind this bar are always extremely rude. Overall this would be a banging pub back up to the standards it used to but the lazy landlord lets it down.

Just had one of the best meals served up in the coopers tonight..Meal was hot, well presented and service on the app was fast. Staff friendly as always

Myself and my friend popped in for a bite to eat the other day. I have never been to this public house before, so it was a new experience for me. We sat down and looked at the menu. I am very impressed that they do a gluten-free menu as not many places consider people with dietary preferences. I ordered the fish and chip with battered sausage, curry sauce, peas, and a side of bread and butter platter as did, my friend. The young man servicing was very polite and well-informed. The manager Scott was lovely polite and couldn't do enough for us, too. The eating area was very clean and tidy and quite busy considering it was Friday evening. The food was hot and very tasty and we didn't need to wait too long for it to arrive. Reasonable prices, great atmosphere, clean, excellent customer service. I also had a small dessert from the kids' menu. Just ice cream, which was served with a strawberry sauce. The ice cream was a little grainy for me, but nice. There is a seniors menu too. On the whole, well worth going in and checking it out for yourselves. I will be recommending this to my friends, too. A refurbishment is on the cards, so I can't wait to go back and see what's new.

Just popped into the pub for a hard earned pint after a hard day's work. The staff were really happy and just made life enjoyable after work. The manager should be proud of their team.

Amanda's Karaoke was great. Didnt sing, but great people and great atmosphere. Loved it.

Great place friendly environment besides jade the bartender won't let anyone in after 9 if ur under 18 for a game of pool but served an under 18 alcohol on April 10th 2024

Had a lovely Christmas meal with friends and colleagues. Could not fault the food or the staff, both were wonderful. The food was delicious and there was plenty of it well worth the money. The staff were so caring, attentive and could not do enough for us. Thank you to everyone, it was appreciated. Definitely booking for next year's when I can.

We had the parish council Christmas meal yesterday evening. The table was nicely decorated and the staff very responsive. The food was great and delivered to the table very quickly with none them annoying delays between courses. The staff were friendly and nothing was too much trouble.

The service is friendly and the beers are cheap but the food is very mediocre. We came for the roast and everything seemed a bit old or not cooked by a proper chef 😅

Nice relaxing pub to bring the kids. Lots of televisions and a pool table. Staff were helpful with the kids needs. Prices were great also.

The service is great. Staff helpful and with a smile. Dingy, depressing atmosphere. Ladies toilets need a huge overall. One cubicle has no toilet roll holder or anywhere to place a toilet role. The only thing my partner likes is the cheap beer

Had a lovely lunch with friends , food was fresh and hot and great value for money Service was quick and very pleasant staff. Scott was very attentive and we were checked on half way through our meal to see if all was okay can’t fault it.

The food nice but just 1 poor member of staff running round like headless chicken she was great but you need more staff on duty had to wait to order food while 1 staff member had to to bar run food out and empty tables

The pub is a local pub, not the smartest but the staff are friendly and the service good. It does need some attention, but this should not affect your decision to visit. The staff took orders efficiently, accurately, and courteously. Food arrived quickly, my sirloin was good quality and cooked to my liking my wife had scampi that was deep fried and crispy but not to her liking. Portion sizes were good, and we both left happy. The pub had a football game on many TVs and this had an effect on the atmosphere I would visit again as our two meals and drinks (2 pints) came to less than £30, good value

Been coming in this pub for years. The food is excellent, love the steak and halloumi. The bar staff are brilliant always friendly and always helping me.

First visit where we met a friend for lunch. Greeted by Lou who made us most welcome. Ordered from the Seniors menus which was extremely good value for money. Good size portions and very well cooked and presented. Lou was very attentive and nothing was too much trouble, she always had a smile on her face despite being very busy. (Goodness knows what her daily step count is) !!! We were also served by Sue who was equally as friendly and attentive and also had time to make sure we had all we needed. The televisions were on but unobtrusive and the overall atmosphere was pleasant despite it being busy. Pleased to say our time at the Coopers was very pleasant and we came away very satisfied. Thank you to Lou and Sue for making us welcome and being so attentive and DON’T LET THE COMPANY CHANGE THE SENIORS MENU OFFER 😊 We highly recommend The Coopers and will be back next time we are in Peterborough.

Fantastic friendly staff. Cosy place for delicious food. Dogs welcome in the bar area. Doggy ice cream sold.

Very polite worker behind the bar and was very helpful. The music was great and varied, the seats were comfortable and the place didn't smell like a brewery. Food arrived quickly and was amazing (gravy was a little rich but still nice) would have stayed for dessert but had to go.

Très bon PUB où on peut venir en famille avant 9pm. Les plats sont bons et pas chers, ils ont de super promos si vous achetez plusieurs plats. Vraiment satisfait.

Had a nice lunchtime meal to celebrate family birthday. 5 of us dined . The choice of food was good ,including a few GF ( gluten free) options on separate menu. Prices were mid range ,desserts quite expensive in comparison. Portions good and apart from couple overcooked fried eggs !! everyone happy with choices. It was busy and food bit slow coming out. The staff were very friendly ,accommodated any issues swiftly and with an apology. In all a place I would go back to. The pub was clean ,had good facilities and had nice informal atmosphere ,worth a visit.

I hadn't been there for over 20 years I was really impressed I didn't have a meal just beer just to say the beer is kept very well pleased I made a visit

Would 100% recommend this pub. Love it here. I visited the pub on Sunday 18th June around 6pm. I had a chick and mix and it was spot on. The atmosphere was good. The staff were very friendly. They had great banter and they were really helpful. Considering it was fathers day, it was still busy but they still looked after me. Will defiantly be back!

I love it here! I came into the coopers on the 12th and was served by Jade and Sue. They are always helpful and always look after us when we come in.

Came in yesterday and everyone was having a great time, playing music on the jukebox. However the young girl behind the bar was very moody and didn't look like she wanted to be there at all. When i played a couple of my songs on the jukebox, I overheard this barmaid skipping those songs just because they weren't pop music. So everyone got to play their music except for me which is just rude and disgraceful. I didn't dare to go and complain though however as the barmaid was being moody and talking to other customers in a very non polite way. Won't be coming back due to this poor service

well what a terrific roast dinner , and value for money ,decent Yorkshire puddings plenty of veg ,and a decent size too .really good to see the size has been increased as well great staff ,only shame is the Vegetarian choice is just a mushroom...

Went for a family meal Easter Monday 2023 Ordered chick n mix Lasagne Burger Corned beef hash pie Hunters chicken Cumberland sausage and mash Chick n mix, hunters chicken ok Burger OK apart from piece of cabbage in with salad Lasagne very little meat mostly sauce and pasta Cumberland sausage ok but Yorkshire pudding tough and mash over microwaved Staff friendly but service quite slow Then had desserts Jam and coconut sponge with custard, very tasty bit portion quite small Apple crumble and custard, very poor, hardly any crumble and tough Syrup sponge and custard ok Biscoff cheesecake ok

Not bad for a Greene King pub. No guest ale, so had to drink Abbot. Crowd in playing bridge.

Visited on 27th Jan and very disapointed. There were 6 people waiting for food and it took over an hour and a half to arrive. One of the meals was not available so was substiuted for a cheaper alternative with no refund offered and the other was cold. There only seemed to be one member of staff working and everything seemed to take forever.

This place has gone so down hill since the management has changed! The food is terrible , the staff are rude and not professional at all! Calling last orders at 22:30 and having to drink your drinks up and be out by 23:00 is rubbish!...

I came down yesterday with the family for Sunday roasts and we wasn't disappointed. Great food, friendly and helpful staff. I would definitely recommend this pub to anyone
