Was originally thinking of going to Greggs for a takeaway breakfast bap but saw this place. Breakfast offers sounded good and decided on 6 item wee fry - it was hardly wee! Came with a hot drink for £3.95 - tasted good and great value. What is there not to like?

Conveniently located in the middle of Portadown, the Cookery Nook provides a haven from the every day worries & concerns of the world. Its seating accommodates individuals popping in for a break from shopping, as well as groups of friends getting together for a catch up. Select from its delicious range of savoury snacks or unwind with a scrummy muffin, bun or cake, whilst you sip whichever delectable drink chosen from its wide selection of smoothing offerings

I visited for a sandwich on Monday to the Market St Lurgan Cookery Nook. I bought a chicken salad sandwich meal deal. The older blonde lady who smokes electronics cigarettes served me. I have seen her standing outside smoking and on her phone. She was wearing gloves when she made up my sandwich from the display cabinet. When I went to pay, she was still wearing the same gloves and proceeded to give me change, while still wearing same. I observed her serving the next customer with same gloves and this made me wary of eating the sandwich. The is a score of 4 on the doors, but I think it needs reviewed in light of this. Especially with the COVID-19 issue.

The scones they do here are absolutely delicious. They do some nice tea as well. Their presentation was spot on and I can see why people flock here for lunch or some lite bites. Next time I'm back in Portadown I'll be coming back here!

My husband and I visit regularly to buy buns. Our favourite are German biscuits. The staff are friendly and they usually have a good selection of buns.

Bakeries in other places are nothing in comparison to Portadown and the Cookery Nook is my favourite. I'm drooling at the thought of their pancakes and potato apple. You'll be overwhelmed by the sheer choice and volume of cakes, bread and savouries. They do a great sausage roll, a lovely wheaten, a magnificent gravy ring...lots of nice wee buns and tasty treats. Why can't all bakeries be like this?

Went for lunch today at the cookery nook, the lunch was cold, the potatoes were lumpy, the Lamb chops were over cooked and dried out, the woman who served us was busy chatting to customers behind us, and had no interest in our order, or us, the food was cold sitting in the counter and had to be warmed up in the microwave, the plate was hot but the food was still cold, I tried to get to my table, when one of the waitresses walked into me, this is madness as someone is going to get scalded, the food was expensive and very poor quality , not value for money, you would be Berger of going to McDonald's ,

Have visited this establishment many times because staff are polite, and food is great and great value. Hint= starve yourself before visiting this eatery, as portions are huge! Do yourself a favour....eat here.

Very very poor service from one lady in particular. She's blonde and works on the hot food counter. Very patronising, letting other customers go in front of us and got the feeling that she just didn't want to be there.

The Cookery Nook have the nicest baps in town, delightfully floury, firmly fresh, squeezably succulent and a fantastic addition to any filling. It's a yes from me

We make a point of visiting here everytime we're in Portadown to get a takeaway box of buns! We are always pleasantly surprised with the price even when we get a bit carried away! Have tried the sausage rolls and vol-au-vents which have to say werent great but we'll continue coming back as the baked goods never let us down! Staff are lovely too.

They actually cook real food here, not just the usual sandwiches and no skills required rubbish. It's also very good, best braised steak I've had for a long time (maybe they don't use the cheapest meat they can find like many restaurants).

I am visiting the Cookery Nook every Saturday while in town. The bakery offers good selection of bread, baps, buns, cakes and my favourite scones! Service is good and staff is helpful and polite. I have few enjoyable dinners as well, so fresh and mouth watering. If you looking peaceful lunch get up the stairs and enjoy. Definitely good spot for all day food - you always find something for yourself. Also get few treats home as they are really well priced!
