The Sassy Elephant in Craigavon

Lovely looking place and cosy but terrible service at the front desk. The girl working there on 18DEC2023 around 1630pm didnt seem interested in being helpful. Also assumed we had been there before and didnt explain that there is a restaurant (not called Sassy Elephant, but O'Connor's) and a cafe (Sassy Elephant). Sat down in the cafe having been put in the restaurant only to realise that the menu on the Sassy Elephant website is not the one in the actual place. I pointed that out and I swear the girl behind the desk was either daft, didnt listen to what I was trying to explain or just wasnt interested. Turns out the menu is for Bubba Drew's next door! Management - sort out your website. You have your menus in the wrong restaurant. We wont be back to Sassy Elephant again.

Food is subpar and generic that is never seasoned, the never salt their steaks before cooking them

Food was excellent as always however staff need watching when it comes to the bill. Added a £5 tip at the till, or so I thought. When I checked at home they had added nearly £4 more. This is the second time they have overcharged me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!. Great food, shame about the staff.

Had a fantastic burger tonight and wife had sizzling chicken strips that were really tasty too. The young girls serving were really helpful and attentive.

Love this place.... But, guys can you please clean your menus. They are dirty. I know what I want each time I visit, but again when a child with autism sees this they will not want to return. I have said this a few times to waiting for staff and still never a change. The place is spotless. Food excellent. Service excellent. Prices are great. Will always return for breakfast lunch and dinner.

Good ambience, good food, you get so much quantity makes you feel too full When you finish 😄

Very disappointed. We just had dinner in bubba drew and my son wanted chocolate donut as he loves them. So we went in sassy elephant buy them obviously we know most coffee shop owners buys them frozen and defrost just what they using that day but his donuts was that old was crumbling and had old bread smell. Unfortunately I see that just when my son eat chocolate part as he carried that donut in bag home .

Food in this restaurant is on completely different level. Fall in love once them try

You never get fed up with this place i think you get very good service. The food is always good and plentyfull and fantastic menu for all types of needs. Keep up the good work.

Whilst visiting a friend who lives near here, we stopped by for coffee and were impressed with the value for money, level of service and cake slices! Tasha is a babe who made us feel welcome, the atmosphere was relaxed & I’ll definitely be returning next time im in Belfast.

Waited 45 minutes for our lunch (two soups and a wrap) to come and by the time it did our tea was cold, drinks were finished and coffee was freezing. When the soup did arrive it was absolutely stone cold. Probably stupidly just ate it rather than send it back to have it microwaved and forgotten about again. Not the first time I’ve waited and safe to say I won’t be back, don’t waste your time (literally).

Just got ice cream today. Amazing flavours, great staff and a good price. I got toffee apple & Apple strudel and my wife had Parma violet icecream. In a word superb 😀

Having had a breakfast here a few times I have left dissapointed each time. The sausages and bacon always seem to be dried up I presume that they had been kept under heat for some time. Coffee is good ice cream is excellent

Still waiting on a sandwich I ordered 45mins ago because the restaurant next door got busy. Customers that ordered after us got served sandwiches before us. Definitely won't be back here.

Great selection of icecream and coffees and good value. A wider selection of desserts and it would be perfect.

Great food great place to bring the children after watching a movie next door

Great spot to get a light lunch and/or coffer with a bun. I go here regularly with my young family and we always get a good service with nice food. Its small so best to avoid peak times like 1pm.

Lovely place to have a coffee with friends and a bit of yummy Chocolate Cake. They even went the extra mile and put 2 candles on it for my birthday.

We visited this little place this afternoon with our two wee granddaughters aged 4 and 2. The girls had ice cream served by a very friendly and helpful young lady. We had coffees and again the service was really good. There were only 5 other people in the little place so it was ideal for us with young children. We were impressed with the friendly service and fair prices.

While being the most convenient place to nip to when you work in the cinema next door, it’s a great place nonetheless. Food is always top notch and a semi fair price for what you get, £1.25 for a can of soft drink is overcharging a little bit though

Great parking very griendly staff great food

Staff are friendly. I was only there for a coffee, so I can't comment on anything else, athough the coffee was mediocre. There's a nice atmosphere inside but they really could do with fixing the way the inside door opens every time the outside door is opened This creates a major draught into the place.

Have vistited here twice in the last few weeks just for a coffee & sweet treat. Very reasonably priced compared with other more recognised coffee house brands. A good selection of tray bakes, muffins, cakes etc but also serves hot meals & sandwiches/wraps. There is also a great range of ice creams and milkshakes to choose from. Friendly staff too but the only reason I mark it down is because it can be quite cold & particularly draughty at times because of the vacuum effect caused everytime the door opens in the adjoining Bubba Drews.

Used to call in here once every few weeks for their awesome pancake stack with bacon and cream. The pancakes used to be a respectable size but then they started serving what looked like store bought pancakes and serving them up for the same price, wasn't happy.Also, on the counter where you place your order are menus for Sassy Elephant and Bubba Drews next door (same parent company) I asked if it would be possible to order from this menu just out of curiosity and the woman serving me was very rude and abrupt. What's the point in the menus being there????Finally, the coffee served here in very poor.

Excellent food, service can be slow but excellent customer service. Could have a better menu display as it's quite hard to see everything available at once.

We always pop in here after eating at Bubba Drews next door for desert. There are lots of different flavours available and all are delicious.The café offers lighter bite options that look lovely however I have only ever tried the ice cream so can't comment on the 'proper' food

Not bad clean friendly staff food ok

We brought family from England who were visiting here. We took up 3 tables but it wasn’t a problem for the staff. The staff took our large order and only forgot to serve one drink which was rectified quickly when we said to them. We enjoyed the hot drinks, cold drinks, sausage rolls, ice cream, cakes & traybakes!The staff were great!

Today have a bad experience,food without quality table greasy ,mashed potato off sour neither an attention of the responsible ,today very poor

My husband and i spent the total of 8 mins tops in this place.

This wee place could be something special.It's so much better now that the unhygienic tables have been replaced but hygiene is still sadly not top of the list.

A++ service this time was fantastic (last time i was here it was very rude and couldnt be bothered attitude). Glad i came back and gave it another chance.Food tasted amazing. Shame they didnt offer a reheat on my pot of tea but the desert was so delisious that i hope rocky road cheescake is there next time we visit. Very calm and relaxing atmosphere and very clean and tidy. Great place for a date with the hubby

I am a regular visitor and have finally gave up on Sassy. The door in has never closed properly, so a lot of tables are in direct line for blasts of cold air. To add to this double doors are kept open between Sassy and Huskey Joe. More cold air and a constant stream of waiting staff carrying drinks between all three connected restaurants. More cold air hits the tables at the door connecting with Bubba Drews.

We love to get our breakfast here as it’s a great spot good atmosphere and varied menu. This morning however I ordered eggs benedict on brioche... I got eggs benedict on a burger bap! An unacceptable substitute 😡

I don't know why I don't like the place more than I do but I just can't warm to it. The last time I was there, the menu's were dirty and the bench seat that I was sitting on had a big hole ripped into it. On the other hand the food is pretty good. The staff very young and the last time we were there the service was very good. Which was a bit of an improvement from the previous times we have been. We have been there more than once and most likely will be again. I honestly can't say what my hang up is!

Sassy always great value, nice staff and tasty food. The only draw back is the doors that don't close and you often have to endure a wind tunnel draft. Simple solution required. Would discourage me returning

This was the first I'd been here with the new menu and it did not disappoint. I had the wild bird and my fiancé had the sassy burger! We were both impressed and the prices are so reasonable. We both were are on lunch break and the service was very good, giving us plenty of time to eat

I went in here after the cinema with 9 kids as a birthday treat for my daughter, I had checked the menu beforehand and to be honest it was going to cost a small fortune to treat 9 kids to a birthday dinner after the cinema so instead we planned to get the kids ice cream. There is a novelty ice cream van where they serve the ice cream, this was great and all of the children queued up and asked for their ice cream choice. They all got small tubs and it cost just over £12 which was ok I thought, then they all sat at one of the tables to eat it before going home. The staff were kind and friendly with the kids I could not fault the Sassy Elephant at all on the day we visited.

Staff are welcoming and friendly every time I'm in! Beautifully decorated and good atmosphere. Great to call in for a coffee with friends and a chat. Good selection of desserts and ice cream. Lunch menu is also very nice!

I like here for coffee or and cake or icecream but wouldnt bother with lunch as im not fussed with thd menu and it doesnt change very often.

We have been to the sassy elephant a few times and love their panninis,but tonight my daughter and i went out for tea and ordered them, they came to us luke warm and hardly any filling in them compared to usual so i asked the server if she could get them heated up which she did without hesitation, when they returned they were hotter but filling was not to the usual standard we love the relaxing surroundings in the sassy elephant but i think i might just stick to coffee or their ice cream from now on.

Generally get ice cream or cake. Always tasty. Prices are ok..ish. Plenty of tables. Always busy. Good atmosphere.

Great wee place for coffee or lunch. Service can be a bit hit or miss depending on who is working but the food is always super tasty.

Visited on Tuesday with my mum and sister for brunch, between us we had the granola, a dirty goat croissant (what a horrendous name...) And an eggs Benedict and also ordered a crunchie scone.

Visited here before christmas and had a healthy breakfast poached eggs grilled bacon mushrooms and grilled tomato. Very nice and good coffee

Really good prices, you can buy a good lunch for under £5. The coffee is excellent and staff very friendly. I would rate it 5 star except it can be very cold, they need to sort out the doors, place can be drafty.

My daughter,myself and 2 grandchildren called in for a coffee over the christmas period,we ended up having a snack while we were there and it was lovely, staff were helpful and pleasant, atmosphere was relaxed and we would definitely call again.

I call in here mainly for the amazing Ice cream! The flavours are amazing but the rest is just plain odd I mean you go in and sit down only to have to get up and go to the till to order and pay! This is madness to me why can they not take your order like normal places? There cakes are lovely but made a bit big an therefore can be too sweet in one sitting. Food is good like but just can't get over the lack lustre lazy way staff work it's not professional.

My friend and her 2 children and I had lunch here on Saturday lunch time. We ordered sandwiches and chips and the children had sausage and chips kids meals. We all had milkshakes.

Been lots of times , all day breakfast is great, be carful the main meals are huge, we have ordered the chicken basket and it is enough for 2 ' great place no problems

We went for coffee and cake after passing it on a few occasions after being to cinema. Although the food looks good, my partner was served a hard piece of carrot cake. It was quickly changed after sending it back but tbh was nothing special. We won't rush back unfortunately

Myself and two friends visited this restaurant on a busy Sunday afternoon. Even though the place was packed we waited for a few minutes and a table was cleared for us. The service was fast and the people were friendly. The food was fantastic! There was a bit too much, but that's not a complaint!

Great place for quick lunch. Parking easy. Quirky décor. Love the ice cream van! . Blackboard sign saying order at counter (always good to know what to do when time is at a premium). We had beetroot moo and the salmon (delicious). Staff v friendly and helpful.

Call kin for a Sundae tonight. I asked for the honeycomb, Kinder and Mint. the only flavour I could taste was the mint. Three scoops wasted the place was quiet and thankfully the music was not loud. Not sure I will go back just for ice cream.

Great place for coffee in the evening, always busy but for some reason close at 9.30pm now instead of 10pm.

Just left sassy elephant completely bewildered at the terrible customer service I received. I placed an order and the girl said is there any tables ( her job to look not mine) she then said there isn't . My husband said we would order and wait . She replied I can give it to you in a takeaway box or you can go somewhere else. We were speechless. This isn't the first time this girl has served me and I felt her customer service skills were very poor. We did as she advised and took our custom elsewhere.

One of my favourite spots for coffee and a catch-up, or on Saturday mornings I love the bacon brioche for breakfast. The ice cream cart looks amazing too I plan to try that next time. Great atmosphere and good food, I highly recommend a visit but go early if you want to avoid the cinema crowd.

Met with a friend here for first time visit. Staff were lovely and chatty. Very helpful. Ice cream van is a lovely retro touch. Good selection of ice creams and desserts. Very relaxed atmosphere. Will go back.

I liked sassy elephant but the food wasn't as nice as Bubba Drew's. Roughly same price too. I'm not complaining because I didn't find it horrible, just found next door better :)

This diner is in the same row as bubba drews, it's a bit quieter but the food is great service was quick typical American style diner not a lot of room between booths Difficult if your a wheelchair user, but have accessible toilets

Came here for a wee tasty treat of milkshakes and cookies with a few family members. Never fails to dissapoint on the savory snack and with a great selection on milkshake flavours. Staff could be a little more friendly as when i asked about the flavours i was just shown with a point of a finger to the icecream. But still very yummy

Visited yesterday but sad to say it has gone downhill. Changes of tables has led to a loss of quirkiness and its appeal plus now hardly room to move. Staff not very customer friendly. Used to be a lovely quirky place for coffee, cake and iceceeam which we enjoyed going to but not sure that we will go as often now. What a pity.

Was here today with my 2 aunts and nana and ordered toasties and the chicken and bacon stack. My aunt who had the toastie said hers was dry and over cooked with very little chicken in it my other aunt had the chicken stack and her bun was more or less burnt and also very little chicken in it. Nana didnt have any complaints and i had the bacon stack and the bun was dry and there wasnt much taste in it. I ordered diet coke and it wasnt very cold and instead of tins or the plastic bottles they have the glass bottles which works out more expensive and not value for money! My aunts were disappointed for the first time and i was disapoointed for the second time needless to say i wont be back and i dont think my aunts will be either their sister restuarant bubba drews is far nicer!

Super spot for adults and kids, something to please everyone. Funky interior and good service. It's nice to have somewhere to go for coffee in the evening when everywhere else is closed.

I actually went to the studio grill not the sassy elephant but the studio grill isn't up for reviewing. The studio grill is fantastic I treated my boyfriend for his birthday in February yet again I have had fantastic service here everyone is so pleasant! I got my boyfriend a man vs food burger which he loved (although couldn't finish) I had a mini hotdog which by the way is not mini it's a regular sized hot dog but what do you expect with the American portions! I have also been here for breakfast which again did not disappoint can't wait to go back again!

never receive a receipt never mind a smile, food ok but as for the menu be very careful as it is misleading regarding prices.....it states"mixture of scones, fresh cream & jam £1.49".........which I and other friends have been getting most days with a coffee but on a recent visit was charged an extra £1 for fresh cream. When I asked the girl she said yeah its actually £2.49 we have been charging you an your friends on all visits that amount,to which I responded it clearly states on the menu different. I wouldn't have noticed only on this particular visit I only brought enough money for a scone and coffee. Will never be back as over a period of 3 months Ive been charged an extra £1 for a squirt of fresh cream, the scones have got smaller and the staff would need to be re-trained on their customer service skills.
