Des the owner really cares about his pubs and his customers. He's been decorating them all to a high standard during lock down and is currently running a takeaway service in the Compass inn. I had the tagine and it was delicious, even better than the ones I had in Morrocco. Des is always welcoming and friendly

We had such a lovely experience here a year ago that we decided to visit again as it was our last evening in the area following our narrow boat holiday. We were very pleased to meet up with the owner, Des Scarboro, who remembered us and gave us a very warm welcome. As with our previous visit the food was great, as was the atmosphere and the welcoming locals. The pub is the hub of this stunning village and is well worth a visit.

After a busy day, we decided we had earned a drink so we stopped here for our reward, lovely pub, the menu looked good, and I will ensure next time we have some food. Made very welcome.

Six of us turned up at this fantastic pub hoping to have an evening meal after reading good reviews about it. Unfortunately they weren't doing meals that night, however the landlord/chef heard us asking about meals and said if we were prepared to take a chance he would "rustle" up something for us from a "few bits" he had in the kitchen. We agreed as we thought it was a good end to our narrow boat holiday. We had drinks outside and were then called back into the bar where a truly stunning oriental banquet was laid out before us. It consisted of at least twelve mouthwatering dishes, far too much for us so it was shared out to the locals as well. Thank you chef for making the last night of our holiday very memorable for all the right reasons. Oh, and the homemade cheese cake was the best ever. We will be calling back next year.

Not very welcoming at all we got the feeling we weren’t welcome as soon as we walked in!!! We waited at the bar to be served but because we had children with us we were trying to establish what they wanted to drink and we took a couple of minutes to decide, the woman at the bar was so unprofessional she asked what we wanted then walked off in a huff to “one of the locals” and said “I’m not waiting all night for these TW@T’s to decide what they want” very unhappy and we definitely wouldn’t recommend to go to this pub if your NOT local!!! The only reason we went was because of the charity event!! But we would never return!!

Very friendly, although Children running around shouting wasn't inviting for evening dinner time as it was after 8.30 The landlord was very accommodating and the atmosphere very welcoming. I found the kids running around shouting without parent control disturbing. Great presentation of food well worth a visit.

We visited as a group of 6 and the Sunday lunch was delicious. Home-cooked and the meat (both beef and pork with crackling) was cooked to perfection. Lovely atmosphere with an excellent choice of drinks. Desserts were fabulous and a reasonable price. Would definitely go back again. If you’re thinking of going, just do it, as you won’t be disappointed.

Staff/owner? were very welcoming and friendly. Food amazing. We had a small roast which was plenty for us ladies. Looking lost on the street, a local knocked on the window to welcome us in and point us in the right direction.

After a long walk along the nearby canal my friend and I decided to try this village pub for some food. We chose the Sunday roast which was amazing! We both had the beef which was slow cooked and melted in the mouth. All homes cooked and served with roast potatoes, stuffing, yorkshires, roast parsnips and a huge selection of vegetables. Gravy was delicious too. Staff very friendly and welcoming. Will definitely come here again and recommend to friends.

It’s quite nicely set out and the service was good. Everyone was very nice and attentive. We could not fault the food, however it is a tad too expensive for what you actually get.

We had left Hinckley Saturday morning and were on our way to visit a cousin in Olney and wanted to stop for a drink. We drove past this farm but further up the road turned round and ended up in the farm yard. We walked into the cafe and ordered food and a drink rack. Well what a find I came out in the end with cakes a local brewed craft beer . Would highly recommend this eatery if in the area, very clean and well priced with excellent staff.

Oh wow. This pub is awesome. We have visited here many times for a drink and bar food, which is absolutely delicious. The chicken burger is to die for. The homemade chips are top level. And if you ask for cheesy chips… it’s REAL cheese. Not that fake stuff. Today we tried the roast dinner. Omg. We’ve tried many, many roasts from various pubs, but this one, was exceptional. I swear to god, try the food in here. The staff are really friendly, Chris, the manager is the perfect host. A true professional, always accommodating. Always smiles. Just lovely. Carpark at the rear. Also there’s a garden, we didn’t know about it either. Located through the bar at the lounge area. And… to make it even better. It’s dog friendly! It’s a win win. Great food. Great people. Fabulous staff. And. It’s dog friendly. No brainer. If you want a roast. You will need to book in advance. They do other theme nights too. Cheese night. Steak night.. Open mic night.. quiz night. … other stuff… But this pub is so worthy of a visit. !!! #Buddyfriendlypubs Plenty of nice dog walks here too. Kislingbury is a pretty village. The people here are lovely.
