The Coffee Quarter in Brighton and Hove

Me and a group of friends had been walking around for ages trying to find a somewhere to eat and stumbled upon this and so glad we did ! Great coffee ( my husband is a little bit of a coffee snob so it’s a great complement) and the breakfast menu was lovely such variety and great flavour! Staff were lovely and chatty ! If we lived local we’d be back there all the time but will definitely pop back when we visit !

Absolutely delicious food. We're both committed meat eaters but I chose the vegan and my partner the veggie breakfast. Best breakfast out ever, great food, lovely staff.

My partner and I enjoyed a fantastic brunch here on a Sunday afternoon. We were kindly greeted by the owner and received exceptional service and extremely tasty food. If you are around the Lanes in Brighton I would definitely recommend visiting here for some food and coffee! 😊

Best breakfast around. We come from Crawley (even in storms) for it. Amazing coffee. Amazing staff. Amazing food and really relaxing atmosphere. Only thing to note is the location on Google. It is actually a little further from the coast opposite town hall.

Popped in today for some breakfast. It didn't look too busy but we waited at least half an hour for the food to arrive, maybe even 40-45 minutes, our drinks were cold by the time food came out. There was no follow up from staff, no info, no apology for the wait. When the food arrived it was nice, hot and tasty. Interior was nice,

Perfect customer service, the Egyptian guy was really friendly and excellent service. We ordered three coffees, the coffee was really nice and baklava was a bit hard to chew, but we enjoyed our time ❤️

Above and beyond service nice staff amazing atmosphere

Me and my girlfriend were seated on the bar along the window. But then they seemed to forget we were there, 15 minutes passed and nobody had been over to even take our drinks orders. I went to the bar to try to order and was told it was table service only. When we finally did get to order the wait for the food was lengthy considering we only ordered bacon on toast as we were running out of time. In total we were there for about an hour and the food came within the last ten minutes. Disappointing to say the least!

Great place to get a breakfast. We had the vegan breakfast which was really good, really tasty and plenty of it. The coffee was really nice and they had every type of coffee you could ask for. Friendly people providing a lovely service. Thanks guys, have a lovely summer. Recommended 👍

Absolutely fabulous. Amazing food and lovely people. My family and I were walking past and a very charming young man showed us the extensive breakfast menu and we all enjoyed the best breakfast we've had in a very long time. Including the tea, coffee, hot chocolate and smoothies. We chose to sit outside and were given lovely, cozy, soft blankets as it was a slightly chilly morning. Highly recommend.

Warm friendly service. Couldn’t have been more accommodating to our party of 9. Wide variety of choices. Vegan breakfast was top notch and one of the best we have ever tasted. The full English smelt amazing and tasted even better. Very highly recommended and reasonably priced. Thank you!

I had a lovely breakfast with fast and friendly service

A really nice edition to the Bartholomews area of the South Lanes, Close to the centre of the South Lanes directly opposite the Town Hall, however feels nice and private and a little bit secluded nicely tucked away under the arches. It's really nice to see something quality take over this building and makes a nice change from Pret if you work or live nearby, Would recommend for coffee or brunch! It is a lovely local independent business so definitely check it out! :-)

Absolutely lush breakfast, great service

Had a great breakfast, was lovely food, well presented and managed was lovely. I noticed blankets for your lap if your sat outside. Was allowed to pop in later in the day to use the toilet. Very welcoming and even asked if we had a song preference on Alexa while we ate. Definitely going bk to clean restaurant/coffee shop. X

Found this great place on a golf tour while based in Brighton. Warm, friendly & very efficient staff, offering fabulous food from Full English to Vegan meals, Freshly made smoothies & full lunch menus. Situated opposite the Town Hall it is the ideal place for breakfast, eating inside or out. Avocado & smoked salmon on Sourdough toast was a treat 👌😋

Incredibly kind and apologetic staff, but food very dissapointing and some inedible. We waited nearly an hour for food and 20 minutes for coffee. If it wasn't for the lovely staff offering a discount straight away because of the situation, we would have left early.

Great brunch and even better coffee. 5*. Nuff said.

We bought 2 coffees, a cake. Coffees were bad, cake was not tasty. There is no waiter taking care of you, you have to handle your own business.

We hadn’t noticed this previously and thought we would give it a try. We ordered from the amazing salad menu and it didn’t disappoint. As well as a great location the food was lovely, the service was friendly, warm and attentive. Thank you for a lovely lunch.

I was walking past and a charming young lady with a menu outside recommended I try if I was looking for breakfast. I returned after a brief walkabout and I was glad I did. I had the Full English breakfast which was piping hot and quality ingredients. I had coffee and tea, both good especially the coffee. Good service. Good value for the location. Recommend.

I went here for breakfast Sunday morning, ordered, after a while we were told it would be another 15 minutes by then we had waited 30 minutes we find out on getting it that they had never sent in the order. The next table was charge for Additional stuff that had never arrived. No apologies for such bad service.

We were looking for somewhere to have breakfast and were greeted with such a warm welcome here it would have been impossible not to go in! The customer service was second to none. The food was tasty and the coffee was absolutely gorgeous - amazing quality. We sat outside in the sun but the inside looked lovely too. The owners are super-friendly and genuinely care so much about their new business and made this a place to remember. Can't recommend highly enough.

Non alcohol so perfect for anyone who doesn't want to be around drunken parties or parents not paying attention to their children! A truly wonderful alternative to all the mainstream restaurants around the area. Great addition to Brighton. Can't recommend this place enough.

New spot for perfect breakfast. I can’t actually get over the fact how big are the portions. Nice selection. Quality coffee. And you must try the PINK smoothie.

Great new cafe in excellent central location, right opposite the town hall. Excellent Monmouth coffee and pastries. Our daughter loved her hot chocolate with marshmallows! Large outdoor seating area, with awning. Staff were incredibly welcoming and friendly. Will definitely visit again.

Such a lovely new cafe/bar/restaurant in Brighton! Having arrived in town with no brunch reservation we strolled around and stumbled upon this place and we were welcomed without a reservation. Seating outside was perfect for people watching. The food was a tad slow to arrive but given how busy it was and we were enjoying the sunshine, it didn't really matter. Great coffee, and a yummy full English! The lady serving us who I think is the owner had a great personality, I think you guys will be a great success and we will definitely be back! Oh, and great music playlist as well! Good luck for the summer season!

This is what a restaurant should be. Friendly, welcoming, fantastic food, excellent ingredients fabulous terrace and coffee served to perfection by staff who care about what they do. Well done..... can’t wait to come back

Lovely chilled out seating area and very accommodating waiters. The best steak that I have had in Brighton, the flavours were incredible.

Just stumbled across it. Right beside the Lanes car park. Great food Baked Salmon, sweet potato salad & Halloumi, Greek salad. Delicious. Will certainly visit again.

Great cafe in Central Brighton, enjoyed lunch with a friend and ended up coming back for dinner and BYOB in the evening. The owner/manager was really friendly and accommodating. Terrace heaters and blankets made outdoor dining a real pleasure. Will definitely be back and highly recommend everyone to support a local small business.

The Coffee Quarter is quite new but it is the perfect place for lunch. The menu is varied and the food is superb, I can recommend the coronation chicken baguette. On top of that the service is excellent, the staff are friendly and the freshly squeezed orange juice is incredible. There are heaters and you can have a blanket if it’s chilly. Would definitely recommend this place, we’ve already been twice and will absolutely be back again.

Very disappointed with the food here. Saw the great reviews and thought I would give it a try, but as a group of four, three of us fell ill from the food! I knew straight away something was off with the meat because there was an odd smell but the staff insisted it was the sauce!! Even without the food poisoning the food was still very average. Never again!

Went to Brighton recently and the "premium" establishments were booked out. Decided to try this new place and was not disappointed. Great service, fresh tasty food and much cheaper. Everything was clean and tidy, with friendly helpful staff. Will definitely go again on my next visit.

This was my first visit to Brighton, my friend and I travelled from london for the day and had some trouble finding a place to eat that didn't need reservations. The Coffee Quarter came out on top and was able to provide us with everything we needed. The service from Eva (apologies if I got that wrong) was absolutely superb! Such a lovely character! The food was outstanding, I will 100% be recommending to friends! & No doubt I will be going back to Brighton just for that purpose!! Thank you for a wonderful lunch xx

Amazing find with big portions! New restaurant in the heart of Brighton. Excellent menu idea for lunch - pick your protein, salad, dressing and topper. Super friendly staff made our visit extra special. I would definitely recommend the smoothies! They do shisha as well I was told.

Food was great: we ordered from the ‘lunch menu’, from which you get a main (I ordered falafel), choice of salad, sauce & side. It was all really good, the falafel especially was delicious, as well as the ‘vegan cashew Caesar’ dressing on the salad. Would definitely go back!

Stopped here whilst out with parents on first weekend after lockdown eased and searching for somewhere for lunch as I hadn't booked. The place was realatively quiet as it has only been open a week. Staff were very friendly, bringing me a glass of water when they saw I had been incapacitated by cramp. Sandwiches were huge and tasty, side of chips were delicious and only a £1. Outdoor seating iin quiet area near the town hall, but in a central location. . Would definitely recommend.

This place is so cute! I was there to collect a Too Good to Go Magic Bag (yup, brownie points for substantially reduced amounts of food waste) and whilst I was waiting, the staff was so warm, welcoming and friendly! Plus the baked goods/lunch menu looked very appetising! I tried the Goat's cheese and Pear sandwich and it blew my mind!! 100% recommend this place!!!

By far one of the best places to go in Brighton. Staff are absolutely lovely, food was delicious, had some really nice shisha too! The owners were so welcoming, they even gave us blankets :) I would 100% recommend The Coffee Quarter to anyone looking for a good atmosphere!

Really lovely staff and great quality coffee. Didn’t try the sandwiches and cakes but they look great. Lots of outdoor seating and added bonus of being able to watch people arrive for their wedding at the Town Hall!
