A lovely much needed addition to this town! Always greeted with a smile and a chat. Friendly place to grab a bite to eat and drink. You never know what is going to be on the menu, always something a little bit different but usually a safe option for others wanting something more usual. However I would say a set menu is something this place could benefit from. Especially being a mum and wanting to take my child somewhere, it’s not always convenient to just see what’s on the board today, as it’s not always child friendly! But other than that it’s a nice little place that I hope sticks around for a while

We have been in a couple of times for a coffee which have been lovely. The owner Andrew mentioned that they have themed evenings once or twice a month. We booked for the Pie and mash and guitar /singer. The group was a mixture of veggies & meat eaters. The meal was lovely and the guitar/singer was also brilliant. The whole night had a lovely vibe. Throughly recommend.

The Coffee House is an absolutely lovely place to visit and you always get a warm welcome. The Homemade food is delightful and the menu changes daily. Great choice of beverages. I have fallen in love with their cheesecake… so many variations and all of them delicious. Local artists share the wall space with some amusing prints belonging to the owner. The atmosphere is relaxed and there is a variety of seating. I have been visiting The Coffee House since April and it’s become one of my favourite places in Buckfastleigh Well worth a visit!

First visit yesterday. I’m moving locally and only a few miles away now so always looking for nice places to meet friends etc. I’m a bit of a foodie too! Coffee was decent. Would be nice to see more alternatives ie turmeric latte and more herbal teas. I had garlic mushrooms on toast. Sadly the toast was processed sliced white bread. There’s an incredible sourdough bakery in buckfastleigh so it would be nice to use this bread and much healthier! Mushrooms were ond as described. Personally I’d like some geeens as a side as well. The proprietor was friendly and helpful. If food can be improved I’ll go back. If not the probably just very occasional coffee visit for me.

Second time visiting The coffee house while on a visit with family locally. The owner is friendly and welcoming. Lovely, relaxed, friendly atmosphere. Amazing fresh pastries and light lunches to be had. All fresh, homemade and local ingredients by the looks of it. If you are lonely and want to get out and chatting to others while having a drink this seems to be the place. A new small business who has certainly thought it out.

This is a pretty new cafe in The Town and is already getting a reputation for good interesting food and great cakes and coffee. We had lunch a couple of days ago .I had a vegetarian curry homemade and my wife had a salad .both were excellent and reasonably priced. He also makes homemade desserts and cakes. They also hold regular Tapas evenings. A great place to visit.

I have visited twice now to meet up with friends with my baby, and have been met each time with a warm welcome. Nothing was too much trouble (even moving furniture so I could sit with my pram) and as a local it is great to have somewhere warm and welcoming to meet friends. I will definitely be back again.

Stopped here with my daughter as a treat while in town. The gentleman serving could not have been more lovely, talked us through every drink and every home made cake. Even offering to swap our choice if we didn’t like it. Just absolutely lovely service and wonderful, clean and well loved venue. We’ll certainly be back.

A friend and I popped in here, mainly because they had sofas as a seating option. It was a fortunate decision. I had a cake with chocolate, banana and cinnamon, and a pot of tea. The tea pot was refilled with water for free. (I was thirsty!) The cake was magical! There are a variety of cakes, plus cooked lunches too if required. Also a choice of teas, and wonderful coffee. The owners were friendly and helpful, and knew what was in their cakes for anyone with allergies. It was visually welcoming with a variety of seating options, plus the owners made us feel valued. Highly recommended.

The perfect spot for breakfast, coffee, lunch or dinner when in Shaldon. Service is superb, food offering has good choice, well cooked, reasonably priced. Absolutely love stopping for a coffee and cake on the terrace area overlooking the river. Can’t wait to go back,

We were welcomed by the head bar man, what a gentleman & a legend taking the time to talk to us. We had visited Buckfast Abbey & drove through this quaint little village, parked cheaply in the pay & display & popped into this small village pub. Great little traditional pub, pool table on the right hand side, very clean & throughout. Good selection of beer & ales. We sat in their well tendered gardens. Definitely recommend for a stop off.

There should be a government warning about this pub. You should be warned about how lovely it is. So nice to walk into a pub that's still a pub. It's how a pub should be. We went with friends for the first time last week and we will certainly visit again. Great atmosphere with friendly locals, lovely staff and then the food ‼️ OMG this is what pub food should be like. Fresh, cooked on site and a desperate Dan size portion. I could not recommend this pub any more. It's a proper pub with proper grub. Go you will love it.

Forest Fungi is a great breakfast / brunch spot. The breakfast menu is served until 2 and offers some unusual and delicious options, mushrooms are front and centre as you would expect. They have also introduced a BBQ menu and offer tea and cake in the afternoon. There is a small farm shop on site and a good range of fresh baked goods. The service is friendly and approachable and prices reasonable. The best thing about Forest Fungi is the food, high quality, fresh, tasty and beautifully presented every time. At the weekend it is sensible to book in advance.
