The Coffee House in New Forest

Googled somewhere to have a breakfast and the coffee house came up. Very lovely breakfast, and the latte was beautiful.

I went here with my husband and daughter earlier this week, lovely friendly staff and chef, I had the smashed avocado and poached eggs on toast, it was mouthwatering! My husband had a full English and my daughter a Bacon Sandwich, they really enjoyed their’s too… Absolutely delicious and such a gorgeous quirky cafe! Will definitely be going back!

Lovely people, fab coffee, nice atmosphere and delicious food. We had the full English breakfasts and will definitely be back! Loved the extra touch of making the hot chocolate a bit cooler for my friends little girl.

On Wednesday the four of us paid our first visit to this cafe, and it certainly won’t be our last. We were welcomed by very friendly staff and the whole place had a very warm atmosphere with lots of delicious looking offerings on show and a very good menu to choose from. Everywhere was meticulously clean, including the toilets. We had perfectly cooked bacon baguettes to suit our different tastes and preferences. Nothing was too much trouble. The chef even came out to our table to check that we were all satisfied. We certainly were 😋. As we were leaving, one of the ladies was bringing some warm shortbread from the kitchen to put out on the counter. Well, we couldn’t resist buying some to take home for afternoon tea. It was divine! Thank you all for a very pleasant afternoon.

I've been coming to this venue for a while now and have come to expect that service is routinely slow, even slower than Costa, slower than anything in Hythe. Today (3rd Nov) they broke the record. I came in at 11.20, and was ignored by all until 11.45 when I gave up and left. People who came in after me were served, and also those to the left and right of me.. The (allegedly busy) waitresses had time to "coo" at someone's baby next to me - who came in 5 mins after me and were served immediately. I asked an idle waitress at the counter if you'd changed from Table Service to Counter Service but got no reaction. The great shame is that the food is usually good, the coffee is excellent and the waitresses sociable and friendly. USE THE LOCKDOWN TO POLISH YOUR WAITRESSING SKILLS

Dropped in looking for coffee ended up having a very lovely cooked breakfast They are handling covid rules very well Polite lovely friendly staff If we were local I could see this becoming our regular My only complaint is I don’t like black pepper on my food and it was on the tomatoes and mushrooms so maybe staff could ask guests if they’d like it ! You could see and taste quality meaty sausages and quality bacon

Went in at noon and ordered Bubble & squeak with poached egg. They were’t very busy but I had been warned that service wasn’t quick. The order before mine was for four breakfasts which took 20/25minutes. After a 50 minute wait and still no snack my patience ran out and told them to cancel my order and walked out.

It is such a treat to go here, be it for morning coffee or lunch. Service is good with friendly staff. Can sometimes be a bit of a wait for the food but it is cooked to order so no problem. Lovely clean establishment

Took my parents her for lunch we were very impressed, extremely helpful staff and very welcoming. Ordered toasted sandwiches and a normal sandwich with tea and it was faultless. Will definitely take my parents there again a good varied menu .

This cafe is attached to the church but is not all 'in your face' religeous. The food is excellent and cooked to order in the small kitchen which is open to view. Every member of staff are approachable and friendly.

Have visited a lot since my 1st review 2 years ago....Mark and his wonderful team of volunteers continue to provide great food and service.....we tend to go on Saturday and it's always busy with some families also present........Really can't fault it at all !!

We visited here after reading the reviews. It is a lovely café with very friendly staff. Nice atmosphere. They have an extensive menu. There was quite a long wait for the food although you are warned. However it was worth it. We then took home 2 slices of the Victoria Sandwich and a Rocky road. Scrumptious and very reasonably priced.

Found this thanks to Trip Advisor. It's a short drive from the chocolate box Village of Beauliea nearby. Next door to the church it looks like you could park in the church car park but there is on street parking. It was lunch time n busy with just two ladies serving. Most of the specials were sold out which was disappointed noting. Chose the bubble n squeak with poached eggs! I was told it would be 30 mins before my meal was ready. It was 22 minutes. When it arrived it was hot, tasty and there was a small side salad. Great value at about £8.50 with an apple juice. Very impressed. Great staff, lovely food. Great find.

The food here is absolutely excellent, very good value and served in a relaxed and friendly environment. We had the famous eggs benedict, bubble and squeak, beef stew and a variety of cakes and coffee on our three visits recently. Everything is home cooked, often served by friendly volunteers who are supporting good causes as profits are channeled to the local community and a parish in Rwanda. I very rarely write reviews but the food, people and the aims of The Coffee House make this a place you must visit when in the area!

Driven past so many times but never stopped to go inside .. big mistake ! We did today .. The food (especially the eggs benedict) was amazing .. all the food is made from scratch and the staff were lovely and polite. Definitely will be going back.

This coffee shop is just amazing. Beautiful coffee and the best eggs benedict I have EVER eaten. Fresh homemade hollandaise sauce. The staff are so welcoming, helping me as I’m a wheelchair user nothing is too much 5 stars all the way

One of the best eggs benedict I've had in here, and the breakfasts choice is brilliant. Looking at my friends breakfast it looked lovely. The pricing is excellent value for money too.

I am a huge breakfast fan, eating breakfast out every weekend. This place is like the Waterside’s best kept secret, but once you’ve found it you really won’t want to go anywhere else. The atmosphere is very relaxed, friendly and welcoming and the food is absolutely stunning. There is only one small down side, being part of the church it isn’t open on a Sunday.

I pass this cafe regularly and had no idea how good it was. A friend recommended it so I thought I would give it a try. So glad we did the food is great. We had the All Day Breakfast at £5.99 and Scrambled Eggs on toast at £4.25 , great value and delicious.

Paid a visit here yesterday for the first time and I really wasn't disappointed.

We found this little Gem a few weeks ago since then we have not been able to stop going back the food is first class & the service is second to none. Having told family about this place we went back with them,We wanted 3 burgers ( all hand made ) they had mince for 2 so told use they would go out & get more mince especially for us,

Lovely poached eggs on bubble and squeak. The coffee house has a very friendly community ambience - we spoke with all the staff some of who were volunteers- it's unpretentious but I'd heartily recommend it. Wish it was local to us!.

We stopped on the off chance and were happily surprised not to experience the same as the last reviewer. It must have been an unusually difficult day then. The coffee we had was properly made -americano with coffee slowly added last to give the 'crema'- and supplied by a good roaster. The scone was fresh and a good texture. The gentleman we spoke to about the produce was enthusiastic and keen to get it right. He did point out that they are slow to get going after opening as they cannot have access before 0900 and so prepping early takes a bit of time.

We had heard good reports for this Cafe so went for a Saturday Breakfast. It was just after their opening time, and whilst reasonably busy we accepted it when the lady who took the order said it would be a little while, which we didn't mind, however it took 45 minutes for the food to arrive, and we left most of it as it was not very nice.

I saw a picture of a breakfast here on my friends Instagram. Before that I never knew it existed.. All food is freshly made to order and although we ordered at a busy time we didn't have to wait long for our order. The food was lovely an well presented. The service was also good so if you get the chance pop in a lovely little cafe.

Very nice breakfast this morning, I had the full breakfast and my partner had the eggs benedict which also looked very nice. Good quality ingredients and the staff were very friendly as well.

Another fab full English breakfast, cooked fresh to order and always happy to accommodate special requirements. Highly recommended!

The Coffee House is situated In St. Andrews Church Hall, and I must admit, that if it wasn't for the fact that my Granchildren went to the Hall for Pre-school, I wouldn't have known that it was there.

Had an amazing lunch here, chef came out to discuss our non carb request and included extra protein to make up for the lack of bread. Never had attention like that anywhere before! Such a lovely meal, cooked fresh. Allow time for food to be made, it's well worth the wait!

We have been for coffee before to the café attached to St Andrew's church but this time we thought we'd try breakfast. All of our choices featured poached egg. Mine was on smashed avocado. One of my companions had eggs benedict with smoked salmon and the other bubble and squeak with a béchamel sauce on the aforementioned eggs.

Passed this cafe lots of times thinking I must go in. Went in for the first time two weeks ago and was pleasantly surprised at how lovely it is inside, friendly staff and good service. Took my daughter and grandson in today for lunch, again lovely friendly atmosphere, good service and food good value for money. Definitely recommend a visit whether you are wanting to meet for a coffee or lunch, just make sure you order your food before 1.30pm. Thank you to the staff today for taking the time to speak to my grandson ... he loved his fish finger sandwich and toasted teacake!

We have had many breakfasts, lunches and brunches over many years but this has to be the best day venue around. Their breakfast and lunch menu is of restaurant quality with a great choice, our favourite being Eggs Benedict with bacon and side salad. All food is home made to order. The venue is attached to the village church so easy to find with its own free car park and with a great atmosphere and presentation a must for anyone wanting to try a new venue for breakfast and lunch. Open from 09:00 to 14:00 daily. Well done, keep up the great standard.

Popped in for a quick bite, lovely fresh soup, Stilton and Celery with brown bread and a cuppa. very good

Great value and quality however leave yourself time as Mark the chef cooks everything from scratch. Very busy so leave some extra time. Well worth the visit

What a great little treasure. Kind and friendly staff, great food and chocolate brownies to die for. Had a Cadbury's Creme Egg brownie today straight from the oven and decided I may just have to move in.

The eggs benedict were superb, the staff were friendly and the atmosphere was relaxed. Perfect for lunch with a friend....will definitely return.

Dibden Purlieu’s best kept secret, till today, Tasty breakfast freshly made to order by chef, Mark, I had the all day breakfast which definitely hit the spot and my partner Liz had bubble and squeak with a poached egg and hollandaise sauce which she said was “amazing”. I’ve lived in Dibden Purlieu for 18 years and this was my first visit!

We visited with our 2 year old daughter on a Saturday morning. One of the best breakfasts we’ve had, friendly atmosphere, staff were excellent, chef was brilliant and nothing was too much trouble! We’ll definitely be back! Thank you!

I’ve known The Coffee House was there for a while but assumed it was a ‘coffee and cake’ establishment. While attending a craft fair at St Andrew’s I called in for coffee and was surprised at the range of hot food offered. True it’s not a massive range but very good for the size of the place. I had lunch there that day and went back again for lunch today, burger the first time, bubble & squeak with poached eggs, hollandaise sauce and bacon today. Delicious!

A gem of a place! simple menu using top quality ingredients in the hands of a knowledgable chef. Plates are beautifully presented and served by friendly staff. As all meals are cooked to order, sweet treats homemade and the cafe is staffed by volunteers for the whole community, do not expect fast food, just good food. Take some cash, they don't take cards but there are cash machines close by.

Myself and my daughter come here every Saturday as she has dance lessons based at the church here. It is always a treat for me because it means I can get food and drink from The Coffee House! There are a range of coffees available as well as tea and always an offering of freshly baked cakes and pastries. The food is amazing! My personal favourites (and I've sampled many) are the garlic mushrooms which are always presented beautifully with added garnishes and the smoked salmon eggs benedict. I've also had cooked breakfasts as well as tea cakes and toast. The menu is wide ranging and also includes soup, sandwiches and bacon rolls. All the food is freshly prepared and such brilliant value. The chef puts lovely finishing touches to all he prepares. A lovely, friendly place to visit.

Well my family and I have used this cafe for a while now. It's at the side of st Andrews church and is run by volunteers. The menu has a great selection and all cooked fresh, so you may have to wait a little while for your food if they are busy, but well worth it.

Went here for lunch and it was all delicious, (both the food and the coffees). The service was fantastic, as was the food. Everything was clean, and the prices were good too. It's a great place to go with kids too as there are toys to play with there. I can't write enough to stress how good a cafe this is! I'd definitely recommend eating here. Or even popping in for a hot drink. Well done everyone here: BIG THUMBS UP!!!!

The food is delicious, well presented and very reasonable, the staff are friendly and it's a nice place to be. There are many disappointing and overpriced places to eat lunch around the waterside but the Coffee house is the exception to the rule. Exceptional.

I love that this place is not another modern commercial cafe. It has comfy sofas, amazing coffee and a friendly amtmosphere. The food and coffee is perfect and if I had to say anything, it is that the cakes and some food items are UNDER priced.

I visit the cafe every Thursday morning with a group of friends and our young children. Toys are available to keep the children busy and the food is amazing. The cooked breakfasts are a personal favourite along with the delicious brownies. The staff are always extremely helpful and friendly.

I have been here for lunch a few times and the food is always incredible, the service is brilliant and there are smiles all round, highly recommended

We arrived at The Coffee House on a sunny Saturday as a party of 6 and popping our heads in, we found that there was no space. As we left, we were followed by a member of staff who very kindly offered to set us up outside. Very quickly chairs and tables arrived and were were seated in the sun. The staff were very attentive, and kept coming outside to make sure we were all okay. The Coronation chicken baguette was delicious!!!

Today we had the most amazing eggs benedict with salmon. Gluten free was always an option. Service was friendly and welcoming. Would definitely be coming here on a regular basis. Great value for money.

I'm really lucky as this cafe is within walking distance from my house, it is not very often that i eat out due to being a coeliac but this is one place that i trust implicitly as all the staff are knowledgeable and there is a wider selection of foods than most places. The staff are really friendly and this gives the coffee house a really lovely ambiance. The food is really tasty and there is a good selection of cakes and fruit tea. The chocolate brownie is gluten free and it is one of the best that i have tasted.

A regular visitor, we often visit for lunch with small children. Excellent menu chouces and food is always delicious. Thoroughly recommend the chocolate brownies too! Its a brilliant place to take young children, highchairs are available and there is an area with comfy sofas and childrens toys. Childrens menu is fab too

We regularly visit for the amazing Full English Breakfast, always cooked to perfection. This week I tried the the garlic mushrooms on toast, a very generous portion and tasted wonderful, I will definitely be back for more.

Popped in for a quick cuppa and catch up with a friend and ended up staying for lunch. We had a gorgeous bubble and squeak with egg and a scrumptious coronation chicken baguette. Staff were very approachable and friendly - even the chef came over to check our food was to our liking!! Love this place

I work every Wednesday morning in the church hall and find myself having to grab a bite to eat at brunch in this lovely old building . The staff and the prices are spot on and to top it all off the food and the coffee tastes as good as it smells ❤️#smashed☕️

Had an amazing Tatty burger, if you have never tried one you must. It can be with a bun or potato. They even do a vegetarian version. Very friendly staff, high quality food, freshly prepared, and very reasonably priced.

Fresh, quality food cooked to order in friendly village environment. OK, it's sort of a church hall but please don't let this put you off. Mark the chef is passionate about what he's doing and things on the simple menu are as good as you'd pay loads for in many New Forest pubs. Love the responsibly sourced coffee - two shots at no additional cost. Holiday makers, locals, everyone please give it a go.

The Bubble and Squeek with optional bacon was delicious and VFM and the paid and volunteer workers are friendly and professional. A great venue and meeting place for getting together with friends or family for breakfasts, lunches or snacks. Thanks to you all and I look forward to seeing you again very soon.

Discovered this hidden gem recently on a recommendation from a friend. Regularly visit with friends now, and have to say I am really impressed with the quality of food on offer. The staff who are volunteer's are friendly and accommodating and the space has a welcome and homely atmosphere. About time this area finally got a quality eatery!

We can't think of anywhere we would rather go for drinks and food than here.......volunteers are very friendly and super efficient and they always have time to chat .......food is just perfect......prices very reasonable........plus of course they have Mark their superb chef !!.....The day we visited one of the ladies was writing up their new vegan and gluten free menu.

It was my 1st visit with the ladies group, everything from the friendly service, to the delious food to the lovely cuppa, was excellent and very resonablly priced.

Came here with my mum a couple of weeks ago, I didn't even realise it was here. We both had the all day breakfast with a pot of tea each, it was lovely. And the staff were so helpful. Food was a really good price too, will definitely be coming back soon.

For a small village Purlieu is very lucky to have so many great places to eat. For my money, the Coffee house is the best of all as the quality of food is outstanding, the service is very friendly and the environment is welcoming.

Mark and the team are wonderful, they offer excellent customer service at a gentle leisurely pace. The food is freshly made to order and they are very accommodating to dietary needs.

This lovely café is a hidden gem and I regularly visit when down in the new forest! They only take cash but there is a cash point 2 minutes down the road.

Great breakfast go everyday, excellent food and staff defo recommend. Easy to get to. Everything made fresh cakes all made there very good

The atmosphere is vibrant and friendly. The food, and drink, on offer here is excellent with a good choice of light snacks and delicious cakes, including Gluten Free items. There are tables and chairs, plus a small area of sofa seating, Order at the counter and your meal is brought to you, piping hot and freshly cooked. Excellent! There are ever changing art works on the walls to admire (for sale if you would like to buy some lovely original, local work). A great place to pop in and be refreshed in a happy environment.

Homely atmosphere and very friendly staff. Coffee is to die for and knocks spots off anything in Costa. Food is great! It's what every village needs, a fab local coffee house! It was packed which says it all! Enjoy!

I make a point of trying to stop myself from visiting more than once a week. The food is wonderful and skillfully put together and the prices are amazing. I could eat here everyday and never get bored. The chef has managed to make good honest food a little bit special at a great price. The brownies are fresh, warm and squidgy everyday. The smoked salmon dishes are delicious and generous. Nice and big side salads as standard - and not just a wedge of lettuce either. A proper salad.
