The Coffee House in Cambridge

A tasty breakfast, nicely cooked egg, and good coffee. My daughter appreciated the hot chocolate and pastry. Small, independent, friendly - nice to have this place nearby.

A lovely pit stop on the way back from Addenbrooke's appointments for the last couple of weeks for us. Perfect coffee (and I am fussy!), breakfasts and sandwiches with a cosy, relaxed atmosphere and good old fashioned friendly service. Thank you so much, it was just the chill out we needed after each treatment and the cooked breakfasts went down a treat because he couldn't eat until after each appointment. I particularly recommend the chicken tikka toasted wrap with mint mayo! The Coffee House is the perfect example of why an independent deserves to thrive in the face of identikit national coffee chains/drive throughs everywhere. Lovely to see how much a part of the local community this place is too. We shall be back!

First time ever on Friday gone. Enjoyed the food and the coffee so much I’m back again this Tuesday. All day breakfast is a winner. Staff are very friendly

Nothing sets you up for the day than a good breakfast. This was a perfect breakfast with just the right amount of quality ingredients, cooked to perfection and hot! Proper condiments and decent coffee guaranteed to put a smile on your face, equipping you to face the rest of the day. A local gem.

I can't review the food as I have never tried it but the coffee is really good and reliable. Small amount of seating but good for a takeaway. The owner's real nice too

I went for the first time this week, having just had an operation. I don't drink sugar drinks and wasn't allowed to drink hot drinks due to the op. They had run out of diet cokes etc. and there were no other diet options. We asked if it would be OK to just get a drink from a nearby shop and they replied no. I really needed a drink as I'd had to fast for a day and was pretty dehydrated, so we decided to try somewhere else. On my way out I decided to say: "Just a polite thought for you - for the sake of not letting me get a can from elsewhere, you're missing out on the £15+ we were going to spend on other things here". I was met with a blank stare and shrugged shoulders to which I further added "I'm not sure I understand the logic". At no time was I rude, in fact I made a specific effort to be polite, even making sure to say it. As I left the door, one of the servers muttered something about me having been rude to her, which I point blank was not. I went back in and expressed that I didn't appreciate her tone and that I had done nothing of the sort, that in fact I was simply trying to find a way to spend money with them. The owner/manager (I presume) came out and started explaining that "If we let one person do it, everyone would want to and where would it end?" The person I was with explained again that we were just trying to find a way to spend money there when they were out of stock on all non-sugar and non-hot drink options and reiterating that neither of us had been rude. He then asked the server to apologise and she shook her head no. He insisted again and she apologized only through gritted teeth. That was the first and last time I'll bother going there and based on the appalling nonsense from the staff, I simply cannot recommend this place to anyone.

This busy little coffee shop is a gem, tucked away just a few mins from Addenbrooks it has great coffee but also a tasty but reasonably priced fry up. You see all types of customers not just locals but visitors to Addenbrooks, builders, parents dropping kids off at the school nearby. It feels like an important part of the community.

Just dropped wife off tor a hospital visiat Addenbrookes and drove oit for coffee due to Covid restrictions. This is a little gem of a place and saves on parking in hospital. Coffee was great

Been here a few times in the past couple of days for a sandwich and cheeky bit of cake and now currently trying out their all day breakfast and wow i cant complain its amazing. Staff are very friendly and the place is amazing. Thanks guys!

Fantastic experience while we were in The Coffee House. It was cozy and the place is intragammable worthy. I would recommend the all day breakfast to anyone who wish to visit the coffee house coz their bacon is really tasty. Will definitely be back. Value for money and the staff were really nice to us so I would recommend this to all coffee goers out there😊

This is a fantastic coffee shop that also serves an amazing value, delicious English breakfast which actually seems pretty difficult to find in Cambridge these days. The staff were really friendly and accommodating with any requests we had for alternatives on breakfast (even when we made a mistake ordering! Sorry guys..) and the coffee is great too! Highly recommended and worth making a trip! :) Alex

What a delightful little gem Two lovely girls working their butts off I had a lovely panini and a latte Finished with a waffle oozing strawberries raspberries and ice cream What a great find I can't wait to go back again And thanks to the girls who need to be applauded It was great sitting outside but sheltered and watching it hammer down with rain Lovely food

I was surprised to find the Coffee House, but I’m glad I did. The sandwiches are excellent and I frequently visit for lunch. I’d like to see a few more breakfast options e.g. granola, fruit, yoghurt etc, but this is quickly becoming a great coffee shop.

Really nice little coffee shop in Sultan way that is very convenientI stopped only for a cappuccino but they had a lovely selection of cakes and baguetts etc Very clean and friendly

This is a small local coffee house and I sometimes go there for breakfast. There a few tables inside and some outside. Always a warm welcome, and the food is delicious. I recommend the sourdough toast with crushed avocados and poached eggs! Chilli and lime can be added, also smoked salmon. The only downside is that it closes in the early afternoon. We desperately need places like THIS in the evening, in a town where most independent cafes shut by 5pm!

We visited the Coffee house again today after an absence of over a year - and I was delighted to see the place thriving. Great coffee , great food , and excellent service. Perfect for a brunch and a morning coffee. Lovely community place - if you come here don’t miss it !

I was driving through Cherry Hinton and passed a dig to The Coffee House and was intrigued so turned around and I’m glad that I did. Lovely little cafe most understated with brilliant coffee and tasty, fresh food at a very low price - they really should charge more, after all it’s Cambridge. Just delightful.

This is a small cosy café but it serves lovely freshly cooked food and everybody working there is friendly and pleasant. Does a lovely breakfast and coffee - it's great to have this in the local neighbourhood.

I love this place, not pretentious just decent coffee and good food from nice people. The place is not grand, or flash, it is comfy & casual

It's almost impossible to park at Addenbrookes but the Coffee House is less than a mile away. So it's ideal if you are waiting for a patient or fancy something before an appointment. Lovely coffee and a wide range of sandwiches and cakes as well as all day breakfast and heated lunch items. Nice spacious premises, seats outside, easy parking and lovely staff.

The cafe is good, the food and service are excellent although the coffee isn't particularly strong tasting (get an extra shot). The only problem I have with this is that it is closed frequently. Maddeningly, it closes during the Folk Festival when it could be making a killing. It was also shut the first week of January when everyone was back and work and wanting sandwiches. The board is always out on the main road even when the place is shut.

This little Gem is a Lovely place to visit, very friendly staff and owner. They do an amazing breakfast, cooked from scratch. Cannot recommend highly enough

Stopped for late lunch, had a lovely panini with Amaretto coffee. Service great and speedy. Food and drinks delicious. And the food selection seems very good for a small cafe. Will definitely go back for more.

Visiting friends locally, they recommended the Coffee House whilst their young lad was playing football at the local school.

Lovely coffee house with welcoming staff, quality coffee and delicious food. The eclectic clientele gives the place its atmosphere. Oh, and they have free wi-fi! Check opening times before heading there.

The food took a little long to arrive but it was definitely worth the wait. I was very impressed with the menu and the atmosphere. I will be back as many weekends as I can manage!

We came across this wonderful little cafe whilst visiting the area. We spend quite a lot of our time in Italy, the coffee in this venue is far better than anything we have had in Italy.

Visited on twice, lovely staff, good quality breakfast ingredients, served with care & attention, well priced, a nice find, seating available out front.nice selection of pastries on offer, we enjoyed our two visits and would recomend a visit if you are in the area.

I called in as I was in the area. I didn't know the place was here but it is a nice cafe. I just had a sausage roll and a cup of tea which were fine. Friendly staff, and I will call in again.

This Cafe is local for me, It is located on the small parade of shops on Wulfstan way near the Health centre. There is mixed seating, chairs or stalls, tables inside and out. The Cafe is clean, has free daily papers to read, good friendly, quick service all for a nice budget price. I have dropped in half a dozen times in the last 3 months for Tea & Hot rolls. The food is cooked to order, I had a choice of rolls, fillings (I had Sausage and Egg) and a mug of tea. The food was cooked exactly to order, Eggs flipped, Sausages split with brown sauce. Also got some free crisps/Doritos on the side. The Tea was fresh and tasty.

This place is a hidden haven. Fabulous food, more than reasonably priced and a great host, it's a must !

Very small but provides great coffee, freshly cooked breakfast and hand made sandwiches. Ian, the owner, is friendly and provides a warm welcome and great service. Unpretentious but high quality!

This little coffee shop is a little hidden gem! If you want a good Full English, you will get it here. The coffee is good, food freshly made very quickly and very tasty!

I will say this place does a great but simple breakfast, Ian the owner has a magical touch and he charms the pants of the female staff with his bacon rolls, which are to die for....

I stopped in recently and found The Coffee House a clean welcoming place for a coffee, hot chocolate, or light meal. The interior gives a feeling of space, and while the furnishings are fairly standard, the place is simply and welcoming decorated. The menu offerings include all day breakfast, sandwiches and cakes. The the tea and hot chocolate were well made, and the man working the counter (Ian?) was very courteous and had a good rapport with the regulars. Well worth a stop, especially if in the Addenbrooke's area.
