Absolutely lovely time staff are very attentive as I walked into reception the lady saw I could not make the stairs so offered me a change of room to the ground floor from the 1st floor the beer nice food fantastic will be back very comfortable

Thought we would pop in for a spot of lunch on our way to our airb&b. Staff was fast and efficient, even though there was 2 of them today. Friendly and approachable. Nice looking rustic pub, well maintained and clean. Food was lovely. We had scampi and chips. Portion size was good. Chips appeared twice cooked. Scampi portion was brilliant. There was no oil on the plate; so the staff had drain the oil sufficiently from the food. Tarta sauce looked like it was made in house. Salad looked fresh and inviting. Will be visiting again, to try out some of their other food

Second time staying here this month while working at Stansted. What a cracking find and reasonable prices for the area. Lovely pub with rooms attached . Really friendly staff, good selection of ales and other drinks and good pub gub. The room is good with comfy bed and nicely decorated and furnished. I will definitely stay here again for next year's visit. Thank you to the whole team.

Stayed at the Cock Inn for a weekend in January whilst visiting friends for a big birthday celebration. As a solo traveller, it's always important to feel comfortable and the Cock Inn team delivered that comfort in a big way! I had a very warm welcome and everything about access out of hours and breakfast etc was explained by the friendly owner. Breakfast was delicious, with a help yourself juice/cereal/yoghurt type bar and a cooked to order hot breakfast 😋. Everyone I encountered was so friendly from the team to the locals in the bar. The housekeeping team were so kind when my flight home was cancelled and offered for me to stay an extra night - I didn't need to do that in the end but their compassion was so appreciated when I was a bit stressed out!! Thank you to you all - can't wait to visit next time I come to visit my friends.

Fantastic stay at the Cock Inn Hotel as I was down in the area visiting friends. Superb clean and functional accommodation, fantastic food and brilliant hospitality from John and the team. The attention to detail on display was superb. I am looking forward to staying again when I am next in the area.

The first ever pup i have come across that dose Alcohol Free beer on draft 😀 so I was super impressed and such a lovely prime location just outside the slums of Harlow in a nice little remote village and the rooms are lovely and cozy and the food was top notch to.

Dated rooms, food was nice in the restaurant/ bar.

Stayed here whilst working in North London. Well worth the short journey up the M11 which is close by. The service was excellent, evening meals and beer choices were great. Breakfast was good. Overall a great find and will definitely us again when in the area.

We stayed here the night of our wedding as it was perfectly located. We could not have asked for better accommodation. The room was huge, lovely comfy bed and the staff welcomed my husband to be when he came to collect our key earlier in the day, as we knew we were going to bed late back they were kind enough to allow us to collect the key before official checking in time, this made our day and night so much easier and stress free. We will be recommending the hotel to anyone who needs accommodation in the area. Thank you all so much, the new Mr and Mrs Smith xx

We stayed as a group of 6 (a double room and a family room) as we had a night out nearby. The rooms were spotlessly clean, and all of the accommodation areas felt newly decorated. Comfy beds, lots of space and wide opening windows (unlike many of the big chain hotels...!). The breakfast was full English and was delicious. Lastly, the staff were all very friendly and helpful. It was spot on.

Another very nice dinner, pub stay and breakfast. Friendly welcoming staff, comfortable bed. (Quite weird to find the kettle wired into a wall switch. Maybe other guests not quite so sociable.) Anyhow, we enjoyed our visit.

Even thought a hotel attached to pub to chairs in a corridor to meet friends, as pub closed......not very welcoming.

Lovely pub with rooms. Very comfortable and welcoming. Plus the breakfast is freshly cooked.

Had a lovely lunch in the pub. Very reasonable two course deal. Friendly helpful staff.

Got a selection of beer with nice friendly staff, never stayed in a room but the pub is a good old fashion boozer, would highly recommend.

Stayed for one night for work Price was great which also included breakfast, bar staff were really friendly and the pub was really nice. Room was clean and breakfast was really good. Will definitely be staying here in the futre

Great location when I'm staying over for work in Epping. The staff are all v welcoming and the bar is a friendly place. It is easy to relax there. The freshly cooked breakfast is a treat.

Great pub with friendly locals. John The landlord stocks very good beer and makes you feel more than welcome. A nice pub to relax in after work. Also fantastic food. Good tidy clean rooms with really comfy clean beds. Breakfast is spot on served by Bill. Would reccommend and will be staying again.

Rooms were nice and clean with all the amenities you would require. Very quiet even though you were in a pub. Took a wile for someone to check us in. Breakfast was delicious and plenty of it and a good choice of continental options too. Lady at breakfast was very friendly. Would stay again if in the area.

This is a pubs pub , with good rooms for an overnight a delicious steak and kidney pudding and potatoes and peas. Beers and wines and whisky before settling in for an evening. Breakfast was well organised and a full English and yes I'd say overall I'd be back if I get back to sawbridgeworth

Unexpected visit here for lunch quite late and was warmly welcomed and lunch was very good, ham egg and chips, keenly priced and wonderful surroundings in a very old pub, great find

A lovely place to stay. Only thing that I wasn't pleased with was that had a leaky tap, and shower over taps rather than electric but I'd still return again. Hosts lovely and enjoyed the atmosphere of the pub great.

A terrific place to meet with friends and have a meal. The food was good value and service pretty efficient. I don't remember what beer I had but was sad to have to depart quite early in the evening.

Nice place for a drink. Next time food( looks fab)
