Ninefields Bistro in Epping Forest

I just moved to the area and thought i try the local fish and chips, the chips are very soggy drenched in some old oil I can tell the way they cook it the colour looks awful the size they give if a joke on top of that the cod they give if ridiculous they a split down the middle so all you get to eat is literally batter on one side, the chicken doner looked like it had been there for 3 days looked so dry how on earth are people eating from here 😔

Been there twice recently and had spam fritter and a half portion of chips for 4.40.Really enjoyed it.The fritter was nice and the chips were good.Will be back today!

Best in the area ! My only criticism is the the batter on the fish sticks to the paper and it don’t come off , would be better if they used boxes like other fish shops

The large haddock was superb (only comes as a large) however they have changed their chips and they were more like the flat ones you get from a burger van than authentic fish shop fried chips. Very disappointed. Bring them back!

Food is always fresh and good value friendly ,helpful staff. Never been disaponted

Got lots of food for £6 it’s worth it kebab roll was top tier definitely the best i’ve had.

Too much talking waited waited and waited before their long conversations ended. Its okay if the food was okay but wings had strong fish smell as it was probably cooked in the same oil as fish. All the wings had back around and even inside on the bone so had to bin it all. Feel sick now. Check the images I wouldn't be spending my time on the review if it wasn't this bad.

Great food and you can tell it is prepared fresh everyday just by the taste and quality. Great service and this might have to be my new local chippy. Would recommend.

This has downgraded so much in the past couple of weeks. Portions are smaller and quality is very poor… had to throw ours away tonight, chips were too oily probably reheated, not freshly fried. The cod was nearly burnt and that looked like it was reheated too. Full of oil and tastes rancid🤢Not buying there again. Shame really👎🏻as it used to be top before.

Still the best chippy in the Waltham Abbey area. Fair prices for huge portions as my visiting inlaws discovered despite their doubts 1-nil to me 👍

1st time and last at the Fish shop the worsed Fish and chips i have ever had, i think ratger than say we are out of fish they gave me something old and refried both the fish and the chips where terible, never again

Good fish and chip shop, fairly priced and staff are friendly and chatty.

Second time in 6 months I have had soft batter on my two pieces of fish. Certainly not crispy as it should be. First time I phoned the owner to complain he just shrugged it off. Tried again about 2 months later, batter brilliant. Went back Saturday, soggy batter again. Will use Roundhouse Fish shop in future.

Every says there local is the best chip shop, but I really would travel (if I wasnt local) to get these chips /fish ect , good service never had a bad experience. If we have chips anywhere else , they never met the standard of Ninefields fishbar ..

Great traditional fish and chip shop. Friendly and efficient staff. Massive selection of food that always seems to be ready and thus no waiting and yet the food always seems fresh. The chips are fantastic!!
