Dada Cafe in Epping Forest

It is not a place that you can have breakfast. Everything is ready meal even pancakes from Costco. We looked it up on Google best pancake cafe in Epping and Dada cafe came on top and disappointingly we have served ready made pancake from Costco.

I am a customer of this café in South Woodford. I found out about the cafe during the lockdown through some friends and I have been a regular ever since. This is a busy cafe which serves the locals really well and it’s children friendly. Staff are great, dedicated and always smiling. I either pop in for a take away coffee or for breakfast or brunch daily. I’ll definitely recommend this place. Wale

My wife and I ordered two cappuccinos which were really nice and very cleverly decorated. Really tasty and we were given a glass of water each too. £6 for two which is not a bad price and the service was very good. Very friendly staff.

We popped in for a coffee. I had a cappuccino which was fine but topped with something red which I thought was 'ruby' chocolate. Unfortunately it was dried raspberry. I do like dried raspberry and I love coffee but they really do not go together!

Thank you girls for the amazing service and friendly attitude with which you have received me. It is definitely a come-back visit for my delicious Mocha and steaming Oatmeal Cappuccino. Best coffee I had!

Very nice cafe, good atmosphere and lovely decorated drinks. The effort is reflected in the price, and is on the high side of London coffee shops.

The welcome was as expected, warm and very friendly. I ordered lemon and ginger tea that arrived quickly in a glass teapot. The ginger had been peeled and sliced. There were lots of lemon slices and she had added a sprig of mint into the mix. The result was absolutely delicious. Five stars sometimes are not enough.

This is the best place in Epping if you fancy a coffee and a cake. I have been coming here since it opened and enjoy it just as much with every visit.

This coffee shop although part of a small chain is top-notch. The staff are all super friendly, the atmosphere is warm and the feeling when seated, is of supreme coziness. On top of that, the coffee is terrific too.

Good to see it’s been spruced up and takes card payments again. Food not so great unfortunately. Daily paper a nice touch!

The welcome was warm and friendly, our coffee was full flavoured and delivered in good time. The almond cake tasted great and the whole experience was very relaxed.

Me and my mom went their in the afternoon & I had mangu with salami & the fried cheese & eggs. The mangu tasted like a smash green banana with no flavor I left it what a wasted of $8 on that meal! & My mom order white rice with red beans & chicken chunks when we get home to eat we take a bite and the rice needed salt the beans weren’t made well & the chicken was so hard! I will never eat dinner there again! They have great bagels & coffee but for dinner I rather go to another restaurant!

LOVE Dada at South Woodford but the Epping branch needs some investment, it feels really shabby & unloved inside. Also the last few months it’s been cash only, very annoying. Give Epping a revamp!

I visited the branch in Chingford. (I can't find it on here). The staff were very friendly and it was very nice to receive a glass of water, without requesting it. The chai latte came well displayed and it was yummy. The chocolate cake was also delicious too. I recommend this place and would definitely come here again. Thank you very much to the staff at the Chingford branch for a lovely service!

After a brisk walk in the forest and Butlers Retreat full to bursting stopped off on the way home for a coffee and green tea at the newly opened cafe, wow! Best tasting cappuccino ever bar none, it had little raspberry bits floating on top which aided to the smoothness and taste of this delightful coffee. My wife’s green tea was equally tasteful, no soppy tea bag, it was presented in a glass teapot with real green tea leafs majestically infusing with the hot water. Having drank a cuppa here I’m sorry however I won’t be going elsewhere for a coffee. A tad more expensive but worth every penny.

I always pop in this tiny cafe as they have great food and a friendly welcome and are an independent.

Although it is supposed to be summer we were pleased to find Dada's warm plus the staff are always so friendly.

Lovely, friendly owners and good service. The cafe is small but not overcrowded and we were comfortable. There are a few tables outside for when the weather is nice.

We use this cafe for our coffee fix. At the weekends it is usually full of lunch time diners so we have to do with the take-away service. Superb coffee with a little twist and all the food is home cooked and delicious.

Have visited Dada several times. The staff are friendly, helpful and pleasant and the place is clean with a nice atmosphere. The food is delicious and the coffee is great. What more could you want?

The welcome was warm and very friendly and the coffee was full of flavour. I would say amongst the very best. The chocolate cake was fresh and not overly sweet. The tables were clean and tidy.

Dada is one of those truly unique, charismatic, little non-chain coffee houses that are so hard to find now a days.

Staff friendly and welcoming and knowledgeable. Tea for two and scones and cake. Tea piping hot. Nice premise easy for my walker. Toilets good an clean.

I go to dada almost every day to relax by myself most times , meeting friends at times or I just make new friends and at times just end up chatting with other regulars . It’s just beautiful and relaxing best little place in Epping and surrounding areas ! Coffees cake , the porridge and the zakitos saladas are amazing ! Just love it ..

It’s ok,... that’s it. Ok. Not great food, just another average food establishment that English people put up with.

We nipped in for a quick sandwich and a coffee, I'm a massive fan of these coffee shops, staff are lovely, food is great with a real home baked appearance, the coffee is lovely, I'm a fan of Costa Rican Coffee after visiting the country, but I believe the coffee I drank was Ethiopian, which was really tasty. Go here, stay away from the big chains, it's a much better service here! Thanks guys.

We have enjoyed the coffee and cake many times at Dada's and the service we received today was as good as always. The atmosphere was warm, very relaxed and calm, the tables spotless, and today's sponge cake was excellent.

I don’t know of too many village coffee shops in London that serve loose leaf teas and exceptional coffee to the same standard as Dada.

The service was polite and friendly but slow however the flavour of the coffee made up for this. The atmosphere was calm and relaxed as there were no young children in there. The tables were clean and tidy and the chairs comfortable.

It used to be my favorite cafe shop in south woodford. Small and cosy, good cafe and food.

I drive 5miles from Loughton to buy this coffee. Absolutely delicious and the bags of roasted beans are lovely too. The food is impressive & they have loads of vegetarian options. Please open one in Loughton!

Want to feel like your by a calm french coast line enjoying a coffee, avoiding the commercial coffee worlds hustle and bustle, this is the place to go. Awesome coffee great vibe (bit of a posh crowd) run by four nice cheerful women, fast internet. All in all simply amazing.

We were recommended to visit here ny a friend and were not disappointed! Lovely coffees, beautifully presented with a raspberry top! Relaxed atmosphere and delicious lunch too... Will be back!

This is my second or third visit. Can recommend the coffee, in particular the americano. Also, the Russian Earl grey herbal tea is delicouse. We plan to visit again to try, what looks like, a great selection of light lunches.

The coffee was excellent, absolutely first class, especially as it came with a separate mini jug of warm milk.

The best place for miles. Wonderful staff, fantastic food and the tea is incredible. We come here daily!

My girls and I been meeting up for breakfast at Dada's for few times and that is our favourite spot! Staff always lovely! Food delicious ! And I just have to say I love, love their VANILLA LATTE, it's the best! We all will be returning.

After a couple of hours my friend & I needed a quick coffee break before we headed home. We try to steer clear of the big names because the coffee/cakes/sarnies are usually overpriced and tasteless. This coffee shop is a gem. I had the best coffee I've had for ages and my friends hot chocolate was to die for. The only downside was we did not have time for the delicious looking cakes. Small but perfectly formed, I will definitely go again and ensure I have a slice or two of cake. No dearer than Starbucks etc, but the taste...please go and enjoy the relaxed feel of the place. There were two lovely ladies serving and they helped with the relaxed feel. Wish I hadn't been so short of time! Brill!

Just like to make this clear that this review is for the Dada Cafe in South Woodford not Epping. However delightful little cafe with the most delicious salads on the menu, served with fab sourdough bread. Lovely choice of teas and coffees, and yummy looking homemade cakes. Clean place, with friendly and pleasant service and very good value for money.

I just love this place! The service and food are both great. There aren't many tables so Saturday mornings are usually very busy but worth waiting. Lovely brunch food, my favourite bacon, avocado and scrambled egg on sourdough bread. Yum!

I love their chocolate brownie cakes. Very friendly. I would recommend their hot chocolate. The coffee is exceptionally good and is in good quantities.

My family love going here for a breakfast treat. Small but always busy. Small dog friendly. Wonderful coffee cakes and selection of snacks for all tastes. Always smiling staff. They have a good business model here and the couple who own it have opened another branch in Woodford.

I often meet friends for breakfast at Dada Cafe. Coffee is great and food always fresh and well presented. Friendly service compensates for little space available.

We stopped by Dada for lunch and I was pleasantly surprised. The interior has a nice feel, and the size of the place makes it feel quite homely. I had a hot chocolate and brownie, while my partner had a coffee and the salmon & eggs on sourdough toast. It was all nicely presented and tasted great.

A small, delightful coffee house situated off the High Street. It serves excellent food all of which is prepared to order. A very friendly staff make this a place to visit.

A nice spot to sit and have Brunch. The window is always steamed up and it always looks packed in here but we got a table very close to the next table and whispered our conversation. The food was nice and all in all I'd happily come back.

I would come here every day if I could! Such a lovely cafe to sit in, the coffee is delicious and the food is great too. Would recommend anything on the menu! The cakes are delicious too and different every day. The almond tart (with different fruit sometimes pear, sometimes apricot etc) is especially nice!The staff are lovely too and there's some interesting books around the cafe to have a look at while you wait/eat.It is only a little cafe (but that's a big part of its charm!) so don't be put off if there's no table available- the staff will help to make space if they can or if not I'd recommend going for a walk round Epping for 5-10 mins then coming back to try again - it's worth it! :)

Fantastic coffee and light breakfast and brunch options. The only downside is it is such a tiny space and the outside tables are on a busy road.

What a surprise this place was. Both ordered the chorizo sour dough panini which was very tasty and a nice hot drink. Friendly service & cosy for a cold winters day.

I was initially going to call this a hip coffee shop until I realised that it happens to be located in Epping which is basically not only on the fringes of London, but almost in the countryside. As such I would probably equate it more to one of those quaint country tea houses (that happen to sell coffee) that you find scattered about the more touristy parts of the Australian country side (and since my experience of the English countryside is incredibly limited I really cannot comment about that). Anyway, the coffee wasn’t bad though the cafe itself was pretty small (and there wasn’t really any place for us to sit down, though they do offer takeaway). However, despite its size it was still pretty cosy, though in the end what it does best is being a place for you to grab a coffee before you jump on the tube to head into London. Oh the prices weren’t all that bad either.

If you like to support local independent shops then Dada is highly recommended. With coffee and service far superior to anything dished up by the multi nationals you will not be disappointed. A small (and sometimes cramped) space has a wonderful laid back ambience and service with a smile. The breakfast and lunch snacks menu is simple yet very tasty and reasonably priced. The cake selection is wonderful. Free wifi means there is the occasional "1 coffee per hour with a laptop" type hogging a space but it makes for a good mix of clientele. With 2 more new semi independent coffee shops opening up, Epping is well served.

Just off the high street, this is a great, slightly unconventional venue for a great coffee, cake and chat combo. Pleasant service. Nice range of homemade cakes (I had the rhubarb cake, which was delish!). We stayed beyond their regular closing time, but there was no unseemly rush to get us out. Great place for a cosy lafternoon chat.

walked past the outside tables and the aroma wafting from inside almost compelled me to take a break and stop for a drink.The coffee I enjoyed was of the highest class and the service exemplary.Definitely, the best coffee shop I have tried in Epping.

Ive visited Dada Cafe with a friend, with a family member, on my own and with my husband now.Its very small but cute and has a nice feel to the interior. You can sit outside but its on Station Road and feels a bit near the traffic for me. I always tend to have a pot of tea as thats my thing, but the coffee is also lovely and served as above with sprinkled dried raspberries which is nice. Mostly we have eaten toasted sandwiches but I had scrambled eggs. Its all cooked fresh and tastes really good but can take a little while to arrive. Its averagely priced. For one or two people its great, but for any more think it might be tricky to get a table and spread out a bit!

Went to the South Woodford branch. Was shocked to see they made scrambled eggs by pointing the steam wand of an espresso machine into a jug of eggs. This resulted in wet insipid eggs with no butter. There were so wet the sourdough bread got all soggy from the water.We mentioned this when paying and they didn't charge us for the food.Coffee not very good either.

Visited for coffee with a friend and coffee was excellent and the dried raspberries garnish was a nice touch. Lovely setting and we sat chatting all afternoon without being hassled to re-order anything else. We notified that it was past closing time yet we were not rushed or made to feel we were outstaying our welcome. Will definitely visit again!

Me and my boyfriend noticed this little gem when looking for somewhere to eat in Epping. I loved the look but being a skeptic I thought it would be all looks and no taste. I was pleasantly surprised when my cappuccino arrived with little tiny strawberry flakes and chocolate dust. Taste and presentation brilliant...but not just in the coffee. We had little pancakes with pecans and bacon...delicious and served on a granite slate. The staff are friendly and I've been surprised more than once when they bring water to the table for free unprompted. They even told me they had a spot inside once when I found no seats and was waiting for my coffee and food outside (in the boiling heat). This type of customer service is dying out but not in this place!

Disappointed today tried out the new cafe in Woodford skimped on the Parma ham and Brie very dry slice of bread not enough spinach and vinegar had this dish in Epping quite a few times doesn't compare! normally filling!!!

Lovely China tea pot and cups. Friendly service and beautiful cakes selection. Clean venue slight delay on service at times but it was busy.

Excellent atmosphere and coffee comes with an extra sparkle breakfast on a Sunday morning sets you up for the day. It's lovely to see homemade cakes unlike many chain coffee shops. It always reminds me of friends the tv program

Unbelievable how you can find such am high quality in such a small place, into a very small town! Congratulations!

The people running this place are independent and genuinely care about the food they put out and the coffee they serve. Chai tea lattes here are phenomenal and the little extra touch with raspberry flakes is novel and works well.

We went to Dada on Saturday 13 August. We ordered decaf and soya latte and a cake. When the waitress brought the coffee i asked if we could have some milk, to which the waitress blurted out ' You didn't ask for milk'.On leaving when I went to pay, I inquired if the place would take a card, while the waitress was making coffee , thinking to myself, if they say 'No' I would prepare the cash . To my question the same waitress blurted out again ' Let me finish serving this coffee first'. Obviously staff are not trained to appropriately handle inquiries from the customers. I wouldn't go again and certainly would not recommend this place to our friends.

So great to have this little gem in Epping. Food, coffee and and selection of teas (beyond the usual lemon & ginger or peppermint!) are all high quality and beautifully presented. The staff clearly care about their work - it's a profession not a Saturday job done by surly teenagers! They have started doing some gluten-free cake (great!) Gluten-free pancakes (almond flour??) would be amazing or GF bread would make it perfect. (I take my own there and staff are happy to take mine and use it at the moment.) Only ever had one issue once: I was served caffeinated coffee rather than decaf. Due to the quality of their coffee, taste-wise I did not notice the difference as it's great decaf (I used to drink caffeinated so do know the difference!). However, don't let this put you off!! It's too good a cafe - just double check you got decaf when they serve to avoid side effects!

Dada certainly raises the stakes in the coffee desert of Essex. And now have opened a new place in South Woodford! Let joy be unconfined!Excellent, locally roasted coffee - good food and served by passionate Baristas - Dada is leading the way.Fabulous!

Made to feel welcome. The service stands out as exceptional, far above what is the generally expected.The food is limited but what is on offer is good quality and very well presented. More than one choice of bean for those that really like their coffee - highly recommended

This is the best coffee shop arround ,,, i go flat white monmouth coffee shop i have ferrari lamborghini ( but this coffee is simply the best perfection at its best ,, fiori is well balanced and amazing ,,, thanks so much to manager ,,, and wife ,,,, i recomend highly ricky dance enfield

This is a charming cafe and preferable over the chains on the high street. It's a shame there is so little room inside as you have to hope for a seat but it's worth the gamble. Excellent cake and coffee.

Coffee here is a must!! I like the sprinkle of dry raspberries on top of the cappuccino. The food here is also great as it homemade.

Dada café is a lovely little café just off the high road.The food is home made and very good.Coffee is served with sprinkled Raspberry bits.It is quite small so it is not always possible to get a seat.Overall well worth a visit.

Dada Café is a little gem that we were so glad to find. They serve the most beautiful cappuccinos (see pictures). We visited more than once during our short stay with family near Epping and enjoyed lunch on one occasion. Great pride taken in attention to detail and presentation. The food was fresh and delicious and I'm only sorry that I don't live near Epping as I'd make Dada my local coffee shop any day. However, the staff were so pleased that we enjoyed their coffee that they showed us how they make it so that we can try it at home. Not giving any secrets away, so go to Dada's and find out for yourselves...

The food, ambiance and coffee worth the visit. Dried raspberries top the flat white. Fresh herbs and tomatoes with the scrambled eggs on rye bread. Traditional loaves of sweetness up for grabs - so much more to experience in this tiny coffee shop.

Love this little cafè. Great coffee (and I mean GREAT, not your generic Starbucks crap!) great food, lovely staff and charming decor. It's the little touches that really make this place. Fresh ingredients, cute shabby chic china cups, cosy sofa and GREAT COFFEE!!! I'll Never go to the big chain coffee shops in epping again!

Been wanting to try this place for ages, but it's always been rammed full.Walking past, I saw a free table and just went for it. Lovely loose leaf tea and beautifully cooked and presented food it's was a delight and well worth the wait.I just wish it was a little bigger!!

I love dada cappuccino with some dry raspberry and nice grated chocolate on top. Girls are always very polite and with smile. I always recommend this Cafe :)
