Had really great lunch sat outside in the sun. Staff are lovely, will be back :) Plenty of outdoor space now too :)

We came tonight and had the chicken wings for starters, they were delicious! Presentation and taste was amazing. We all enjoyed our main meals, the portion sizes were massive! My Dad said this was the best pub meal he has ever had. The staff were so lovely and attentive. Great value and a little hidden gem!

We cannot thank the team here enough. After very short notice of another place messing up, the team here very kindly took our booking for 18 people. They looked after us from the very first phone call, very accommodating, polite & helpful. They looked after us on the day and helped make Mums 70th meal really special. Nothing was too much. The waiting staff were amazing and the food was fab, the price WOW, less than £15 for 3 courses, what more could we ask for. Once again thank you very, very much xxx

If you are thinking of going for a meal then chose another location. Food not very good quality and service very unprofessional. Pate was very salty and the bread was like a puffed up cracker. I had the fish and chips what a joke, chips looked like they had justed been cut and not cooked in the oven or fryer at all, and the fish was tasteless and hard you could have used it to resole your shoes. The duck rolls were hard and dry with very little duck meat inside. Would not eat here again.

This was a surprise from my husband, from the moment we arrived the staff were brilliant, nothing was too much trouble, they made sure my celebration was thoroughly enjoyable and the food was absolutely gorgeous.

I've never tasted food like that in my life. First of all service was so fast the food was waiting for me ( I'm sorry), the supervisor was hilarious serving our drinks and made me and my friend laugh for her birthday. The food BURST in my mouth, I practically frisbeed my plate at my friend and told her to taste even a carrot. If you've ever watched Ratatouille, it was like when he eats and senses the food and flavour. And it looked like art!? We loved the food and dessert, I was wearing my food by the end of the night, I had no mercy inhaling it in front of everybody I got 2 new cocktails I've never tried and they were the nicest drinks I've ever had, and they're efinitely doubles when I ask. I got the 5 Dollar Shake and the Drumstick. Get them. Right now. Best drinks of my life. I didn't get the chance to take a picture of the Drumstick, I annihilated it. Thank you, we had the best time and the view was gorgeous sitting in the beer garden. And one of the lads on the table next to us was ignoring his girlfriends calls because he was enjoying his burger so much we're coming back! I didn't know such good food and service was right on my door step :)

Went for afternoon tea was not as advertised intact it was so crap daughter bought a pk of crisps from the bar , the sandwiches were poor and the cakes were all smart price ones . The picture on the website looked fab , don’t be fooled it ain’t what ur gonna get . I booked for three people we got two little sandwiches each and crap cakes and scones , butter was pre packed and so was the jam see the photo , emailed them to say how rubbish it was got a patronising email back avoid like the plague

Just had a great meal with my wife and sister in law . I think value for money and nice atmosphere attentive staff. Really enjoyed night will be back.

Visited as most Fridays for the steak night. Regrettably, and for the first time upon probably 20 visits the meal has not been eaten.Consistently the Coachouse has proven its ability to offer good food and in particular steaks on a Friday night that have been cooked far better than all the major chain restaurants.The two steaks were asked for medium to well done for a sirloin and also well done for the fillet.The sirloin was sent back once and however returned with blood still coming out upon each cut and promptly ran into the salad.The fillet it was only eaten on the cooked outside, however the central part of it was simply not cooked at all.Upon complaining to the to more than helpful waitresses, the summary was that there was no reduction in the bill for the steaks that were not cooked by any standards to what in any restaurant is clearly understood by any competent chef. I’m not sure what the regime was this evening however the manager was not present. The chef this Friday seemed to have the overriding decision not to deduct anything from the bill and his effort to cook steak at an accepted level between blue and well-done. Sadly it has cost the management some income in the future.

Bank Holiday visit late afternoon. Once again we were not disappointed. I had a fillet steak cooked medium rare and to perfection. My wife had a roast dinner which was plentiful and tasty. Always a pleasurable experience.

remember when it was the Prince William, what a difference, a lot of money spent on it and look like it was well worth it, if you are young and in for a good time, I would go.

We came to the coach house for wake after funeral. The space was good for the amount of people we had, (around 30). They don’t charge for hire of the room but you have to buy a food package. We got a mixture of Scouse and cold buffet which was all declicious and plenty of it. Wide selection of drinks and at reasonable price. The only negative I would say was the communication between staff. When I first booked we were told we could go in the resturaunt as it was in early afternoon, then when the resturaunt opens for the public we would have to move to the little alcove near the door which was fine. However when we arrived, the staff member knew nothing about us sitting in the resturaunt and seemed annoyed that the tables had been set for Christmas celebrations for later on. I would recommend and would come here again for a similar gathering.

Went in January for a family meal, food was ok when it came out but had dishes coming out very sporadically. First person had near enough finished by the time the last dish came out and there were a few errors in what was brought out. When the food was there thought it wasn't bad. Staff seemed unorganized, almost like the whole team were brand new....

Party of 3, first time eating at the coach house as was recommended on Facebook. One of the starters came out incorrect after checking they had this right numerous times. This was however immediately changed. When mains came out they didn't even look nice, 2 of us had ordered chicken and the other steak. The roast potatoes with the chicken looked and tasted although they had been cooked hours prior and reheated in a microwave and the chicken was extremely extremely dry. Even the gravy didnt help with the dryness. The steak had an unexplainable taste and the peppercorn sauce was like 'piss water'. The whole meal was left after a mouthful, and a waste of £17. The waiter could see that the meals had barely been touched and looked shocked when one of us told her the food was discusting. No apologies and a review form was only given as we asked for this. The Service after we told them about this was diabolical as the food was left uncollected for about 25 minutes and we were barely approached at all, it seemed they were avoiding us untill be left. Still no apologies or gestures offered even by the owner of the place who was sat at the bar and aware of the situation. Would definatly not recommend the place for food. Just a massive waste and left the place knowing we would have to go home to cook which was not the plan. This is not something we like to do, as we like to go out to enjoy our food not have to complain about it.

Called in when passing, was a Monday night so quite , the girls serving were friendly. I had the fillet and was bang on and the wife had spaghetti . Really good 👍

Had a lovely meal 2 course meal at the Coach House on Friday 21st December with the ladies from WLCHS. Great atmosphere, fantastic food and really friendly staff.

We came here on Christmas Day for our lunch and we where really impressed. Our baby boy was poorly and really out of sorts but the staff where amazing with him. The atmosphere was excellent and very christmassy and the food was superb. I had Scollops to start which where great, then fillet steak which was extremely tasty. The kids had a traditional turkey roast which was beautiful too, our 10 year old commented on how beautiful all the food was. The desserts where also fantastic and we all went home very well fed. Great food, great atmosphere and outstanding service from the team! Well done guys.

Phoned ahead but told no need for reservation, on arrival friendly greeting and shown to a two person table, quite small and we were the only ones in the restaurant, as we decided to have tapas we moved to a bigger table, we ordered and waited, we don’t mind waiting for fresh food but two other guests came after us ordered at least 20 minutes later and their starters arrived before any of our meal ! When the dishes started arriving, it was immediately apparent that some had been standing for a while had to send the gambas back as luke warm ....it was rectified with apologies, the food was good, but have had better, the decor is lovely and someone mentioned a smell in a review ....we could only smell the Christmas candles ....the lady who served us was friendly and it’s not put us off we would go back but to order off the main menu next time

The coach house is a very nice place to eat with nice decor, the menu choice is ok but could do with a bit more choice of meals and starters. The food was very nice and well presented and the waitress was excellent, the restaurant used to be a drab pub but now its a good place to eat.

Then service here is excellent, really attentive.

Visited this upmarket establishment with friends and family to celebrate my daughters 16th birthday great service great food at a reasonable price and beautiful decor. Well worth a visit we have been numerous times before and always received quality service and friendly welcome

11 of us went for tea we ordered off the 2 for £9.95 menu as we always do starters we're lovely but main meals were a disgrace fish and chips a fish laying on top of 6 chips and a spoon full of peas wouldn't fill a child I got ribs they were tough and some horrible fries to go with it struggled through meal and the bolegnes was as bad girls said it had no taste I was so disappointed in it as only a week before I was defending the meals as someone had complained and as we had been there quite a few times I didn't know they had gone so bad will be a long time now before we go back

I’ve meant to get along to the Coach House for ages, and finally got there for a meal with friends last night (Friday steak night). I was extremely impressed by the attention to detail from the moment I walked in, until the time came for us to leave. Staff were VERY good. The menu was excellent and my steak was cooked to perfection. Great range of beers, and the ladies enjoyed a few cocktails! Great atmosphere. Just what I needed on a Friday night. Seriously impressed. Will be back soon hopefully.

Came here for birthday drinks and wasn't disappointed. Great service, friendly staff and a good atmosphere. Didn't have food but have heard the food is amazing too

We stopped here for drinks whilst out on a family walk. The place is lovely and clean with a large variety of drinks on offer. The bar maid made the kids their own special cocktails which they loved. We didn’t eat here so can’t comment on the food but there was plenty of food being served which looked delicious.

Absolutly beautiful food, the lady who was serving us her name was Shelley, who was lovely! Very welcoming. Made us feel right at home. Would deffinatly reccommend!

The tapas seemed nice, we were the last ones in and the service was a bit slow. The girl singing was brilliant but I was very sick for days after.....Don't have the prawns

We had heard about the breakfast menu from a friend, thought we'd check out spontaneously. Was quite busy(group) but tables available friendly staff, we ordered drinks, tea, coffee but when they arrived luke warm, nice choice for grown ups and kids. portions ok but quite expensive overall, suspect evening is a different focus. So we were a little disappointed hence average rating but by no means a bad experience.

I reserved a table a couple of days before and when we got there we were shown straight to our table. After you have ordered your drinks, it was not long before they asked what we wanted to eat. Me and my son both chose Salt and Pepper chicken skewers for starters and I had the chicken Cesaer Salad and my son ordered the steak. We were waiting a while for our food and then the waiter came and said that he had messed up the order and that both our starters and main were ready at the same time. Despite this mistake, the food was really lovely and we enjoyed it. The customer service was good and it was a lovely atmosphere. You can either sit inside or outside in the beer garden. I would recommend this restaurant for both the food and the value for money.

After a few years absence ( due to relocation ) we returned to eat on a Saturday night.

Went for dinner with hubby last night, it was the steak night promotion. The staff went above & beyond & were very pleasant & efficient. my husband said it was in his top 5 fillet & steaks he's ever had .!

Very tasty food. Plenty of choice. Generous portions. Reasonably priced. Restaurant tastefully decorated and comfortable. Would highly recomend and as this was our 1st visit we will definatley be returning.

A large group of us visited the Coach House for a family meal and I thought the food was superb. Excellent service too.

Service was friendly and prompt. Good variety of choice on menu including special offer lunch menu. Food was excellent - all three of us had starters and mains from the lunch menu and were delighted with the quality. We would highly recommend the fish and chips - the batter was so light!

Dreadful. I chose from the tapas menu I was presented with. My selections were crispy hot chicken wings with flaming hot dipping sauce, Thai style fishcakes, and classic patatas bravas. So.... the hot wings.... arrived with no dipping sauce, and although they had been smeared in some kind of spicy rub, they were pretty bland. I told the waitress they didn't taste of much, and she offered to go and get more spice rubbed on them to which I said it doesn't taste of anything. So she came back with the hot sauce. The "Thai" fish cakes tasted of nothing. Certainly nothing Thai about those and were not the best fishcakes I've had,they jut literally tasted of nothing. The patatas bravas was a dish of boiled new potatoes (which I don't think were freshly cooked just reheated) cut in half, smeared in soured cream and what I think was tomato ketchup. How is that the classic potato dish in a spicy tomato sauce? Really disappointed with the whole experience. Wouldn't eat there again. Absolutely flavourless and no imagination used at all. My friend ordered the most expensive steak on the menu, asked for it medium rare. It was cold. She sent it back and when it came back we think they had microwaved it and it was ruined. The waitress told her that the chef had said if you order medium rare you should expect it to be cold! What sort of service is that? Terrible.

This was our second visit here for Sunday lunch. The food was again superbly cooked and seasoned and generally exceeded our expectations.

Came in for breakfast today with my daughter had a full English great quality, great sized portion set me up for day. Pleasant and efficient staff. Would highly recommend and will definitely be coming again!!

Thought with a new chef on board we would have a lovely Mother’s Day breakfast, but no. The waitress was lovely but when the breakfast came it was just warm and no hash brows and half a slice of black pudding. ( other half on mums plate)Then my daughter tucked into her second pancake it was full of green mould, who then started to be stick. I give dish to waitress who took it away as I spent the next 10 mins in the toilet trying not to throw up myself. I did eats some of my breakfast before but now worried as I feel so sick. The waitress was left to deal with this by herself and no management or anybody from the kitchen but in an appearance. I was hoping for some where nice and close to eat :(

This is not pub food, it’s amazing food!!!! Came here for Valentine’s Day with my partner aspecting normal food and was blown away!!!! This is a hidden gem in an area not known for great food and amazing service. If you can get here you will not be disappointed! Definitely coming back, book me in xxxxx

Me and 3 of my friends came here for our Christmas meal and it never disappoints!! Absolute amazing food, loved it! Thank you very much! I had the gammon for the second time and it was delicious! My partner has the mixed grill and polished it off! Worth every penny! Just a shame they didn’t have the chocolate fudge cake at the time, we’ll be back for sure

Me and my partner visited here one Friday night and now book every Friday. Never had a bad meal yet also staff are so friendly and can't seem to do enough for you.

Although we live in Old Skem, we usually eat out at the Prince Albert in Westhead, as the food, drink, prices and atmosphere are all excellent. For our wedding anniversary we thought we would try somewhere new. The Coach House is very chic and modern. It has a wonderful outdoor seating area at the back. The food was good, but not excellent. We found the background music obtrusive and annoying. A good venue for the under 45s, not for us who are approaching 60.

Having arranged a reunion with some old friends I chose the Coach house as in the passed I have enjoyed a meal there.

Top quality lovely food and very very good service great atmosphere a real hidden gem will most defiantly be top off my list to visit

Would just like to say an absolutely amazing service from the 3 girls behind the bar have been very welcoming and alothough look rushed off there feet still manage to serve service with a smile made my family's night very enjoyable here will 100% be returning a lot more

We were visiting the area and looking for a restaurant to try and chose here based on previous reviews. Really great fun night! Food was delicious, cocktails were great - good choice and well made, and the staff were second to none.

The food was bland and lacked any reel flavour the fish and chips we had was soggy and not enough peas for the size of the fish! I am not one to criticise much but I really think this place was going to offer much more! I won't say no to a return as everywhere needs a second chance and maybe then I will review what I've put here! As could be a bad dad at the office one says.

What a beautiful underrated place. Food is without question stunning. Best club sandwich for miles. As a local i normally have to travel to get quality food. But now i have tried this its very good value and a stones throw away. Everyone in Skelmersdale should visit this place at least once. Well done Coach house

We visited the Coach House as a small group after the funeral of a friend. Excellent food and service with a very pleasant atmosphere. Spotlessly clean with attractive modern decor. I can thoroughly recommend!

Me, my partner and grandparents had our dinner here. We absolutely loved it, would certainly come here again! The starter was really nice, not to filling ready for the main meal. The main meal was delicious!! I had gammon, my partner and grandad had rib eye steak and gran had salmon, and all four of us loved our meals. For afters we all had deserts and one word to describe that is WOW! Thought it couldn't get better after the main, but the desert didn't touch the sides!! The service was excellent and we loved it here, little bit pricey but definitely worth it 100%!!

Me and my mate went for a few pints and ended up having food too. Sat in a lovely beer garden. I had bbq type chicken thing. Was nice. Clean place.. bar staff were friendly. Food came quite quickly. Would return.

Me and the hubby fancied tea out after long day in work and googled a few places near by . Came across this little gem . From the outside it doesn't look all that but don't let that put you off . As soon as we stepped inside we knew we made a good decision. We got a parking spot right in front of pub but there is a sign outside telling people parking spaces are available either side of the pub. I was surprised how modern it was inside with a beautiful chandelier as a centre piece. The beer garden looked great and a proper little sun trap . We sat inside with a view of the beer garden sadly as the sun wasn't shining when we were there . Service from the young ladies was excellent and food also excellent . Steak for hubby and chicken skewers for me . Not badly priced either. 1 pint beer , 2 large wines , 1 starter and 2 mains £40 .We wont hesitate coming back and will be telling our friends about it !!

Just back from a lovely family Christening celebration at The Coach House. The place is beautifully furnished and very inviting. The buffet was excellent and they managed the gluten free exceptionally well. The staff were also extremely charming and accommodating. All in all, this place is a real find!

Don't judge by the outside of the Coach House (which looks in need of tlc) as inside is smart and welcoming.They have a small but varied lunch menu featuring starters, mains and hot and cold sandwiches.From Tuesday to Thursday evening they have 2 courses for £10.00 and puddings for £2.00. This is a different menu to lunchtimes and looks really tasty.The service was prompt and both the drinks and food were reasonably priced.Access for anyone in wheel chair could pose a problem as from the roadside there were a couple of steps to be navigated.Better in my opinion than any chain restaurant of the Toby / Brewers Fayre ilk as it was quieter and more of a quality feel to the furnishings and decor.If you're in the area well worth a visit.

Have visited on three occasions could not fault the quality of food or the service the fish and chips are the best we have tasted, the club sandwiches are enormous excellent value for money have booked again and are taking friends with us on Saturday.

Portion size that came out wasnt very large for the price paid which is unfortunate as i used to be quite a frequent visiter at the pub, i don't know if it down to a new chef but i will not bother again

Have been on three occasions now! The first with work, catering for a very large party, (20+) on the second occasion there were just 4 of us - and more recently a party of 2.On each occasion the food and service were excellent, arrived piping hot, and all together - unbelievably good value considering the portion size!Fish dish was so fresh - delicious!Limited on parking - and the chef has Mondays off - so try to book before you go, just to make sure you're not disappointed when you get there.

Had a lovely meal with friends this evening. Food was gorgeous and we didn't wait very long. The 2 young girls waiting on were wonderful & very good at their job. However, the singer was far too loud. He was asked numerous times by staff to turn it down but was very rude & arrogant on the mic!!! The staff had to call the manager who had a word with him on the phone. The poor young waitresses could not apologise to us enough & were very professional in dealing with the situation. Having an open mic night with dining is not a good idea. Can not fault the food or staff though. Well done to those 2 young waitresses! I don't know how they kept so calm with him!

We were a party of eight doing the Ladies that lunch thing had great company and fabulous food, everyone of us loved what we ordered, value for money and a lovely place to have a meal.

My girlfriend and I returned to the coach house again and were not disappointed. We both had chicken and mushroom soup as a starter and we were delighted with both the taste and the presentation. The soup was thick and creamy and served in a large bread roll. The most unusual piece of "crockery" I have ever seen and the only one I have ever eaten! Absolutely delicious! My main was grilled salmon and to be truthful it looked to beautiful to eat. Eat it I did though. The fish melted in my mouth and the accompanying vegetables and potatoes were lovely. The service again was excellent. I have no hesitation in recommending this restaurant to any and everyone!

6 of us went for drinks Nov 12th, lovely atmosphere, excellent friendly well mannered staff. Live music was fab! Had a great night and will definitely be going again. Try something to eat next time xxx

My girlfriend and I went to the Coach House for dinner on Wednesday and the whole experience was excellent. The warm and friendly welcome was wonderful. The staff were friendly and polite and the service was spot on. We ordered starters, garlic bread withe cheese for my lady and breaded mushrooms for myself. Both were delicious. We both ordered steak for mains. Sirloin for myself and rump for my lady. Both were cooked to perfection. The presentation of the food on the plate was nothing less than beautiful. The sirloin steak was so succulent it melted in my mouth. The whole experience of dining at the Coach House was wonderful and I cannot recommend this restaurant highly enough. We will defeated be eating there again and I will give my highest recommendation to all my friends.Thanks for a wonderful time guys!

Went out for our lunch to taste the new menu today from the new chef, it was delicious and highly recommended would go again for sure

Enjoyed a lovely afternoon tea here yesterday. Supposd to be for two people but too much for us, could have easily fed four people. Lovely variety of sandwiches, variety of cakes, also two scones each with choice of jam, cream and butter, coffee or tea included. One little disappointment, but no biggy, only had one chocolate covered strawberry each, would have preferred less cake or scones and had more strawberries, absolutely delicious. Lovely venue and staff. Very clean too

The Coach House is a lovely pub and restaurant with quality outdoor seating and classy customers. I've played guitar there 3 times now and the musicians are future stars. I haven't tried the food yet but it looks exquisite. 5 Stars 8-)

I go here regularly for a bite after work or a few drinks. Always great live music on, lovely food! And a cold pint. Normally sagres Love it.

from st richards church we gathered for a wake after a funeral, the buffet was set out nice and tasted lovely, we could get tea and coffee from the bar aswell as other drinks, the outside seating area looked lovely, the place is nicely decorated and the straff were friendly and helpful..

Went here to say goodbye to a work colleague. Nice pub but overpriced drinks. The staff were very good though and the entertainment wasn't bad either. I would go again.

Lovely food, nice for a few drinks, good for sport and they have regular entertainment too. What more could you ask for. I've been here for brunch, for dinner and just for drinks, love it.

After a shaky start, which was sorted out quite quickly by the bar staff. We had a brilliant night, the buffet was fantastic, the staff were great. Good selection of cocktails and draught beers. Communication between the owners and manageress needs to be improved, the mix up could easily have ruined the night.

Seen it advertised on Facebook the were serving breakfast I only live up the road so was very handy!! The breakfast was amazing can not fault it!! I hope this is the start of things to come I would love it if they did food again! xx

Excellent everyday place! Friendly staff, good food and great value for money. There was a small hicup with the food that was sorted as soon as it was realised and we felt that we were really looked after. The manager was really good! Nice interior too, will defiantly be back!

Warm welcome on arrival. Room was comfortable and well decorated with banners and balloons for the party. Super atmosphere, everyone happy. Tasty buffet with delicious hot pot. Well trained attentive staff. Altogether, a super night was had by all. Only complaint, drinks rather expensive, cheap wine at a high price per glass and weak cocktails.

There's nothing to like about the place its sole less I felt uncomftable from the moment I arrived there to the time I left

A pleasant surprise visiting the coach house for a family meal. The decor made a relaxing atmosphere. Very clean and tidy. The menu was varied and had a choice for all our different tastes. The staff were pleasant and efficient. And the bill didn't break the bank. We will definitely be going there again .

The good news is that the coach house has stopped doing food the management must have tasted the food the chef was making which in my opinion was the worst I have ever eaten anywhere in my life

Having attended a family party recently the food was good and everywhere was clean. The staff could have looked a bit more pleasant and were quite surly. I drew attention to the fact that there was nothing to dry your hands with in the Ladies but nothing ever materialised.

I'm very sorry to say this, but I was at the coach house today, the male toilets where not very clean today I used them thought out my visited, there was an babies used nappy next to the toilet which, had not been removed, i spoke to an member of staff and they said they would sort it, i went back in an few hrs later and it was still there, the toilet floor was wet through so I spoke to an member of staff about the problem and nothing was done about it. Also was in the beer garden and some the furniture had bird droppings on it, this i found not very hygienic. But one possible note the staff where working my very hard and where giving good customer service.

Sorry to say this was not a good experience. We ordered cocktails and all I tasted was cranberry juice. We would have gone there for a meal but we'd been told they don't do meals now. So the recent reviews about meals I wonder if that should be for another place. If you go get bottles of wine, beer etc. don't go for cocktails. Sorry but you need to up your game.

Waited over an hour for the starter not that good my steak was tough as old boots the Wife's main came in the wrong sauce sent it back came again with the same sauce look liked it had been microwaved sent it back again when they finally got it right the rest of us had finished not even an apology will not be returning not recommend
